Nsf database imported in Excel but failed in PowerPivot
I have Excel 2010 and PowerPivot 2010 version 32 bit and I would like to import into PowerPivot a nsf database. I did the following steps:
1.created the datasourse with Lotus Notes via ODBC 32 bit
2.created with Excel a new connection via connection > add > new source > Other Advanced > use data source name (reference to the datasource created at step1) + user name and password
(the datasourse is on domino server). I tested the connection and it was successful.
3.opened the connection in Excel, I was prompted for the password and entered again and the database was imported very well
4.in PowerPivot window Design > Existing Connection. In the displayed list of connections, I selected the connection created at step 2. I tested the connection and it was again successful. But
at the final step I have got the error “No tables were found in the data source. Check the connection information and login credentials”. I was not prompted for any password.
The connection string is displayed below (it is the same string that worked in Excel but failed in PowerPivot):

I have imported videos from my Canon 5D Mark II directly to the iPad using the camera connection kits. It works perfectly. I can view them in Photos and iPhoto (iPad). I can edit them in iMovie and Avid Studio. It works just like those video I took with my iPhone 4S which were synced to my iPad using iTunes.

However, it fails if I use the iTunes and iPhotos (Mac) to do my job. I imported the photos and videos to iPhoto (Mac) and then put them in an album which is to be synced to iPad. Then, I connected my iPad, started my iTunes and checked that album under the photo tab. After that, I pressed "Sync". When sync was finished, it reported to me that those files, which could be imported, played and edited, could not be played on iPad.
It is clearly a software bug in iTunes. Please fix that.By the way, I have seen many replies in this thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2398865?start=15&tstart=0) that describe the same problem. (Please note that I am talking about the replies, not the captioned question in the thread).

How to import database created in Excel to appropriate fields in a PDF form?
I am trying to use Database created in Excel to fill multiple PDF Visa application forms.
The fields in PDF forms are basically the same except the order of appearance on the
form could be different. However the field names remain the same in all PDF Visa Application forms.

Sajith PandukaIf you export to a tab delimited format and the first row contains the exact field names of the fields in the form (order doesn't matter), then you can import a row of data into the form using Acrobat. You can also automate the process using JavaScript in Acrobat.

Simplest import-excel example fails - beginner question
Help! I can't get import-excel to behave reliably even in the simplest case:
1 New table with the default one column
2 Add data to one row "hello"
3 Export to excel
4 New table with the default one column
5 Import from excel
6 Error message:

--Failed to insert 0rows.

Step 2's message was:

Step 3's resulting excel file looks OK, though it has a null column to the right (as revealed by excel's control-end key). Nevertheless, deleting that null column didn't change the outcome.
Step 5's DML says:

I'm trying to import a cd to my mac air from my pc. downloadedAbout the Migration and DVD/CD Sharing Update. The mac recognized the pc and the cd , but fails to play or import it. i get the message the cd could not be found. Suggestions?
You can't share/play a music CD using Remote Disk. It's a limitation that Apple built in.
"MacBook Air and Mac mini do not support playing DVD movies or audio CD media with Remote Disc."
Remote Disk is limited to data transfers.
You will have to use the MBA external superdrive, or another compatible external DVD device hooked directly to the Macbook Air.
Otherwise, you will need to rip the CD's contents using your PC and transfer the music as data files. -
TRV460 can play back newer format D8 as well as old formats Hi8 and 8 tapes. According to manual and comments I've seen on e-bay and internet blogs when it outputs the playback for old Hi8 and 8 tapes it translates them to a digital signal on the firewire connection between my sony camcorder TRV460 and macbook Pro. If I'm using a D8 tape it works fine. If I'm using an 8 formated tape the image and audio appear on the import playback. But when I try to record there is a warning message that data is missing. If this is a sony problem how is it that the imovie succussfully provides the visual and audio? It would appear the digital is sent. Seems to me like it must be an imovie issue? But I'm not sure.
Can anyone help.If I understand this correctly, then you have an Optimus graphics card (couldn't find anything online, but your lspci looks like it). I too have such a setup on my laptop. The thing to keep in mind here, is that your main graphics card is the Intel integrated card. So instead of installing your system like with an nvidia card, you install it like an intel card. Specifically, you would want to follow the instructions on Bumblebee. Once you followed them, the whole graphics part runs on the Intel card. Once you want to play a game or do some other heavy graphics card work you call your application like this:
optirun wine /path/to/game.exe
Notice how optirun tells the system to use the nvidia card. It will take a second or two to start it (specifically, enable the card, start another X screen and launch the application on it transparently). Follow the instructions in the Wiki if you have any problems.
If you don't have an Optimus card (just NVIDIA, no Intel), then don't follow any Optimus instructions, just usual NVIDIA stuff from the Wiki. -
Issues with importing from excel
I have been running into a several issues with importing from Excel.
First my configuration
I am running SQL Developer ver 1.5.5 Build MAIN-5969
I am on a Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 3
I am importing into an Oracle 10g database.
1. SQL Developer doesn't work on Excel 2007, I have to save all my files into Excel 97-2003 format before I can use them.
2. If I run into an error loading and stop the process, SQL Developer doesn't release the Excel file and I get a sharing violation if I try to save the spreadsheet without closing SQL Developer.
3. I have found that I have to set print area to the area I want to work with, otherwise the import wizard tries to keep adding rows.
4. When using the Import wizard, it keeps adding commas on fields with numerics unless I specify the column in excel as text. Currently the column is formatted as General in the spreadsheet or I can change the wizard format to say the column is an integer, but it actually is just a code field with numeric characters so it may have leading zeroes that I need to keep.

I have a column in excel defined as text but only contains numerics. It is of length 4, but the wizard sets a precision of 5 with a datatype of VARCHAR2. If I try to change it to 4, I get an error saying the field is not large enough. Yet, when I do a LEN on the column, it only gives me a 4. I have other fields in the same sheet that a 3 position numeric and 2 position numeric and those are fine. I am thinking this is related to the comma being inserted in a numeric field for anything greater than 3 positions.
5. Importing excel dates to oracle dates doesn't work. I have to convert the excel date column to text then import as a VARCHAR, then convert to Date once in the database.
6. The default of nullible is not set on any columns and I have to set them before the import. (I would prefer it set to nullible and I have to uncheck the box to make it not nullible. I would prefer to import all of the data and then deal with the nulls after they have been pulled in)
7. When I select header columns included it uses that as the column names. Is it possible to do the name length check then? It has bit me a few times where I try to import and forget to check the name length and then I get an error when I start running the import.
8. If one of the columns to import has all nulls, then the precision comes out to 0 and if it isn't changed an error occurs on import. Could this situation default to a precision of 1?
9. It would be nice if there was a completion message displayed and a cancel option while running.On point 3.
I have a column in excel that consists of numbers. 4 digit numeric codes. Ex, 1111, 2345, etc
The column's format is general. It displays as just 4 numbers.
When I start the wizard initially, the column appears with data as 1,111, 2,345, etc, on the Data Preview screen.
It determines the precision to be 5 on the column definition screen.
If I change the precision to 4 then continue, that field will error out when I verify with "not big enough to hold the data in source columns"
If, I change the excel column to a TEXT column.
Excel still displays as 1111, 2345, etc
The wizard then displays the same data 1111, 2345 on the Data Previeiw screen
Yet, when I get to the column definition screen it still sizes it as a 5
If I change it to a 4, I get the same error when verifying.
If I leave them alone as 5, then it processes just fine. -
Data Import from Excel - Users Logged on

I have the task of setting up two new company profiles in addition to our current one.
I am at the stage of importing Item Master and Business Partner data.
1) What is the preferred method? DTW vs. Import from Excel? Is one more suitable then the other for this purpose?
2) The help file for importing via excel states "If SAP Business One is running on a network, you have ensured that other users will be logged off the system during the import." Could someone please explain:
- What are the risks of running DTW or imports while users are logged in?
- If users are logged into the live version of our company but I am testing DTW/excel imports from a TEST copy of that company are there still risks or is this okay?
- If users are logged into one database but I am performing data imports on a different company database (for example I would be the only one logged into the companies currently being set up - is this okay even though users are logged into SAP server but accessing a different company?)

DTW is the very much Preferred method you have simulation to see if you record are find to be imported before importing to the DB, using DTW Import from Excel will only help importing BP and Item master data. If you have to make any updates then it will be a task again. In DTW you can save the template and keep adding data and changes can be updated from the template and re-imported
Please refer to the link below to "Differences between the Import From Excel and Data Transfer Workbench templates" the screen shots for DTW are from version before 2007A SP01 PL09.

1. When users are logged on It can cause some inconsistency, ensure no user is logged on the live DB before performing any major DTW import
2. It will be ok if you are Test importing data to test DB on the same SQL server.

Import from camera always fails for a number of images
Since recently (maybe update to Aperture 3.2 or Lion 10.7.2 or so), I have serious trouble when I import potos from my camera (it s a Canon 7D, but I got the very same issue when importing from my iPhone). Aperture (reproducible, always!) imports a number of photos correctly, then stops and displays the message "Import items Completed with Errors". If I them try to import again, it (as it should) only shows me the ones I have not imported succesfully so far, I click "Import" and the same thing happens: a few are imported successfully, a number fails. I have to repeat that a number of times, until it really imported all images from the camera.
I have tried using a different USB-cable (but as mentioned, it anyway also occurs with the iPhone, which uses a totally different cable); I tried repeairing permissions; I have checked and repaired the Aperture database; nothing worked so far!
The camera uses a CF-card, so I cannot import the photos via the SD card-reader...
This issue is really annoying; and unfortunatelly, it seems not to be very common, at least googeling did not reveal too many similar cases and none suggested a solution that would work for me so far :-(
Any advice is highly welcome!

PS: Image format is CR2 from the Canon and JPG from the iPhone...Looks strange. Since at the end you can import all your files it seems not to be a wrong setting in Aperture (like do not import duplicates or something like). It should also not be tha cable or the sources since it happerns with both Canon and iPbhone.
To investigate I would suggest following steps to collect more info.
Have you tried to import to iPhoto instead than to Aperture ?
Where do you store the imported pictures ? Aperture should not allow to leave them on the source if you connect the camera to USB. I see you have both HD and SSD: try to change the location to store the pictures...
Try to load from card with a CF reader or to change the camera (in a good Photo Handler they could help you with the necessary hardware).
Could it be a energy saving setting on the MAC: after a while it stops loading from USB.

If you are very specific to load using your tool only then below are the steps.
In the main menu
Go To Database-> Import -> Import Table Data
In the screen select your schema and table name you wish to load in.
Click on Show Data and after that click on Execute Wizard.
This will ask for table type where you can select Excel file and then follow the wizard.

JNot really a SQL Developer issue. You'll get more feedback in the SQL and PL/SQL forum.
There are a number of things to bear in mind.
the client's local hard disk is not accessible to the database. You will need to get the file on to the database server or even into the database itself.
Oracle won't be able to read the excel file format without additional libraries - there are java libraries which can read excel, but plain text (csv, or tab delimited will be easier)
You need to investigate things like external files, XMLDB, Application Express. -

I am using ORACLE DATABASE 11g and Linux Enterprise 5. I am executing a command to import only one table from other schema to our schema. This import is done on netwrok_link parameter. In this case the log shows me many errors but the table gets imported.

The Data Pump code has automatic restart, so when this happens, the worker process KUPW$WORKER fails with a fatal error, but the MCP process restarts the worker and restarts the job where it left off.
Is the import command getting terminated in middle of transaction and putting the call stack on the screen. Previously i dint >used to get these errors in import. What could be the reason ?Part of the Data Pump job is terminated, but the complete job is not terminated. There is an MCP process that runs and controls the job, there are also worker process(es) that run that are assigned work items to perform. In your case the work item fails because it can't communicate with some other process. This causes the worker process to die. The MCP detects this and starts another worker process and assigns the same work item that failed. When the worker process fails, it dumps its stack.
All this means is that the communication works, but looks like it is flaky. The worker process can communicate sometimes, but fails others. I have no idea which layer is flaky.
