Number range for customer

Dear Friends,
How sud I maintain number range for the customer?....

Hi
No ranges are defined customers account groups in t code XN01 and
assigned to the respective account group in  t code OBAR
Img-financial accounting (old/new both you can use)-accounts receivable and accounts payable--customer accounts-master data----preparations for creating customer master data
(The whole controls you can see here under this)
Here first you will define your account group (for field selection)
1. T code OBD2 define  account groups with screen layout (customer accounts) activity
then you will define no ranges for your account group
2. T code XN01 define no ranges for customer account groups
then you will assign no ranges for your respective account group
3. T code OBAR assign no ranges for account group
You have to go to change intervals and define your pwn available intervals and then assign them to the respective account group
So while you create a customer in XD01 in the respective account group that no range will be automatically assigned if it is internal or we can give our no if it is external
Note if you define a new account group then you have to define partner functions also in img-sd-basic functions-setup partner determination---setup partner determination for CMR apart from the three major activities listed above

  • Change from Internal to External Number range for customer account group

    Hi,
We would like to change the number range assignment for a customer account group from internal to external. The external number range assignment check box is greyed out as a few numbers in the range have already been used up.  We want to do the internal to external assignemnt change, create a customer of a specific number, and revert the range back to internal assignment. Is this possible?
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi,
    Please do the below steps:-
    (1) Go to XDN1 and click on "Maintain status" button. Note down the current status and change the status to zero. Save.
    (2) Again go to SDN1 and click on "Maintain No. Range" button, and change the no. range to external. Save. (if that number range is maintained for multiple years, then make it external for the first yer and for the subsequent years, it will become automatically.)
    (3) Then create your customer with specific number.
    (4) Then go to XDN1 and click on "Maintain No. Range" button, and change the no. range to internal. Save. (if that number range is maintained for multiple years, then make it internal for the first yer and for the subsequent years, it will become automatically.)
    (5) Again go to XDN1 and click on "Maintain status" button. Maintain the current status as the number noted down in step (1) above. Save. (In case number created in step (4) is greater than the number notes in step (1), maintain the number of step (4) in current status.)

  • /RPM/ITEM_MODIFY is not taking custom number range for external ID during creation

    Hi Experts,
I face an issue in trying to create projects through file using /RPM/ITEM_MODIFY.
I have been successfully able to create both item and project but it somehow is not taking the external number range for project ID that we had defined for the item type. It takes the SAP standard number for Project ID (external ID). I want the FM to create using the external number range that we use.
Can someone help me with this?

It is not through PS project. No linkage as we have not integrated this with PS. It is through item.. check the code. This is just to check how to create from backend. This is where we don't get our custom project id. it takes sap project id.

  • Urgent : Unable to maintain the Number ranges for Excise Groups

    Hi CIN experts............
In Development server I created 3 excise Groups (E2,E3 and E4), the same I was transported to Production.
J_1IRG23A1, J_1IRG23A2 object number ranges are Excise Group specific.
When I go to Tools - Number Ranges to maintain number range for J_1IRG23A1, J_1IRG23A2 objects I didn't find these excise groups.
Im able to see these Excise groups in Tools - Number ranges in Development server, but not in Production.

  • Same number range for two different series groups?

    Dear all,
    There are two scenarios
1.Normal export under bond case, series group is 20 and number range maintained, running number is 300016
2.Another scenario, where ARE1 document generation for Deemed exp customer(already customised) , series group is 30.
But, client requirement is , for this second scenario also, system should pickup running number range of series group 20(under bond case)  as per excise legal requirement
Ie running number is for series group 20 is 300016
For the above deemed exp case (second scenario)it should pickup 300017
And again when they do under bond case(first scenario), it should pick up 300018 like that
Is it possible to maintain the same number range for two different series groups(20 and 30)?
Even if you maintain the same number range for 30, as per running number range of 20
Will the system update simultaneously the same number range for 20 and 30 series groups?
    Please suggest the way.

With two different series groups, it is not possible to have the same number range. Even if you maintain it, they will be treated independently.
Normally, you should not use different series groups if the same number range has to be used. In fact, the concept of series group has been developed to ensure that number ranges can be maintained separately.

  • Same Number Range for OTHR and DLFC

    Hi All,
I want to know whether we can mantain different number range for OTHR and DLFC transaction Type for same Series Group.
i.e for Returns Vendor Delivery Excise Invoice(MM side-OTHR) and Outgoing Excise Invoice(Sales Side-DLFC).
    Pls guide me..
    With Regards
    Azeez.Mohd

even when you sell SFG / Trading goods -( HAWA / HALB) , then also you have to update RG1, though they are not FG materials.
Material type in terms of excise, but not in terms of SAP.
    eg:
When customer returns the goods, you can process it in 2 ways-
either by creatign Excise JV - J1IH
or by following MM route, nothing but by creating Incoming excise Invoice wrt:inbound delivery-LR in Tcode:J1IEX-
where in excise tab, material type will be defaulted as "F-RG1", but it has to be changed to "Raw Material".
similarly, Vendor returns also treat as the same,
for your info, adjustment of excise duty for vendor returns will be routed through excise JV in J1IS & mov type:122 -ret to vendor is activated for RG1.

  • Find Free Number Ranges of Customer and Vendor Accounts

    Hi,
We have a requirement where we want to report to customer the free numbers present in customer and Vendor Accounts Groups.
To solve this, I went through XKN1 and XDN1, where I go the current number for each Vendor and Customer Account Group.
But the customer is having a strange requirement. They want to know, the free numbers available in these customer range.
Please see the attached doc for the requirement and the solution which has been given.
Please let me know, how to find the free numbers available in SAP system.
    Regards,
    Devdatth

    Hello Devdath,
You can go to table KNA1. In the selection criteria, give the number range for each Account group and click on Number of entries.
This will give you the number of customers created for that account group. SUbtract this number from the total number to get the Balance.
Note: This is for the number ranges which are externally defined.
For internally defined number ranges, you can simply go to XDN1 and get the balance.
Similarly for Vendors, use table LFA1
I hope this is what you needed.

  • User defined Number range for TD Bulk Shipments

    Hello,
By defining Customer specific logic with certain conditions through Z table, can we have a user defined Number range for TD Bulk Shipments? As SAP std. either we can have internal number range or external. If external is opted for, then every time User has to specify the same while creating a Shipment in O4F1. There is a every chance that Users will commit mistakes. In order to avoid this can we have something automatic (i.e. System will take care).
e.g. In SD Billing we have one User exit:- USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE (Module pool SAPLV60A, program RV60AFZZ). With this and depending upon certain conditions (which are maintained in Z table) we can have our own number range.
Similarly, Can any one please suggest either a User Exit or  BAdi or some enhancement point for this requirement?
    Regards,
    Aniruddha.
Edited by: Aniruddha Saraf on Jan 3, 2008 2:28 PM

    Hi Anirudhdha,
There is no standard exit for number ranges like those in SD. However, you can try using the exit EXIT_SAPMOIGS_001 for this purpose. You will still need to enter internal number range in the shipment type configuration.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,

  • Number Range for Contact persons in SAP CRM

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone brief me about the contact persons concept in CRM and ERP?
How and where the the no. ranges are maintained , config settings, link between ERP and CRM?
Standard Account group for contact persons in ERP and CRM?
I would appreciate and points would be awarded .
    Best Regards
    Suchhi

Contact persons can be maintained on both sides. In our case, we mantain contact persons mainly for needs of sales department, so we set master on CRM.
How and where the the no. ranges are maintained , config settings, link between ERP and CRM?
To define number ranges on crm side go to IMG>Cross-Application Components>SAP Business Partner>Business Partner> Basic Settings>Number Ranges and Groupings>Define Number Ranges
For number range created you have to create grouping. This grouping has to be assigned manually or automatically when creating a business partner. The business partner gets a number from the number range that is assigned to the grouping.
This can be defined under IMG>Cross-Application Components>SAP Business Partner >Business Partner>Basic Settings> Number Ranges and Groupings>Define Grouping and Assign Number Ranges
For number range created inCRM system you have to define a corresponding number range in the ERP. This is necessary to ensure that business partners created in CRM system get the same ID when they are replicated to ERP.
Go to IMG>Logistics>General >Business Partner>Customers>Control>Define and Assign Customer Number Ranges
Next define account groups under IMG>Logistics>General>Business Partner>Customers>Control>Define Account Groups and Field Selection for Customer
For each of CRM business partner classifications you have to define a mapping to an ERP account group. Run transaction code PIDE and do the mapping.
And of course your middleware settings must also be in order.
Standard Account group for contact persons in ERP and CRM?
There are no predelivered account groups for contact persons.
    Regards.
