Numbering: Import v Image v Sequence - How do these work? Can they be set to arbitrary start points?

I have been searching where ever I can but I can't seem to find a good explanation of the difference between "Import Number," "Image Number" and "Sequence Number."
In LR4 I was able to specify a start number for sequencing the image reference numbers.
I would like to be able to specify that start number and have LR remember where it left off for the next time I import so I have continuously increasing numbers across imports until the next time I need to reset.

OK. A simple experiment reveals:
Import# - Ever increasing number for each import. If this is used without another dynamic numbering (ie image#) it will append -# to the end of the filename. (ex. PHOTO001, PHOTO001-2, PHOTO001-3 etc.)
Image# - Ever increasing number for each image across imports (Half of what I was looking for)
Sequence# - Increasing number for each import. Resets to 0 each time.
The question still remains though.
Can the start points be manually set?

That is not what I have discovered, nor what others have discovered, nor what I was told when I went the Genius Bar. I cannot remotely mirror to my MacBook Pro and it only started the day after I installed the upgrade. We tested it with an iPad that had not been upgraded, no problem.

You can set those dates in the DAC system parameters tab. You should see lots of $$xxxxxx parameters.

How to clear screen on eks-lm38962 OLED back to starting point

I am just starting out with LabVIEW for micro controllers and have a project that is about to be due. I have a Stellaris eks-lm38962 board that I download the program to. The point of the project is to draw pixels on the OLED screen similarly to an Etch-A-Sketch. I have everything completed except one small problem. My display is supposed to clear out when i press the select button and then start back at 0-0 (top left). My screen clears but the cursor stays where it left off. I have no idea how to get the cursor to go back to the starting point. If anyone can offer any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. I attached a screen shot of my block diagram. Case 16 is the one displayed because that is the one giving me problems. I need some way to tell the clear display icon to start back over at 0,0 whenever I press select. Thanks in advance.

Macbook USB and HD camera import on new model. How does it work?

So the question is: Other than no firewire, you can import via USB? Has the performance been for HD video editing been ok? I really want the smaller one.
For the price difference -- i could always buy a new usb hard drive video camera while staying with the form factor. I told my husband I want one for my birthday, but i can't decide which one-- USB or Firewire

I had another thought the other day, we are going to something along similar lines and only allow one brand of USB stick which I got working OK, but to stop users going out and buying their own brand of the allowed stick I am going to put in the serial numbers of the allowed sticks supplied by the IT dept, so they will be the only allowed.

What values are stored in the alignment region of an image and how can they be set?

I am calling a number of C++ functions with different variable sized LabView images at rates in excess of 20 images per second. I need to tell the C++ code developer what values to expect in the alignment region of the image. Right now I am creating an image with a zero border that is 32 byte aligned, so there is no alignment region and everything works fine.
I would like to move to using normal LabView images, as it saves sereval steps and allows me to use a combination of LabView and C++ operations. I do not want to re-write all the C++ functions to be aware of the LabView alignment and border areas. I just want the alignment area and border area to be zero and process them like they were part of the image.
I can set the border region to zero using Fill Image but I am not clear as to what the values will be in the alignment region, or if I can set them. Does Fill Image also fill the alignment region? Since the C++ code is being developed on a system without LabView, and I do not have the means to debug it on my LabView system, it is tricky to know what is in this region.
In the ideal world, I would like it to be zero or to be able to set it to zero.

Hi Andrew,
The function IMAQ Fill Image allows you to set the border and all or part of your image to a certain pixel value that you define. One of the inputs to Fill Image is "Image Mask" which you can use to specify which pixels in your original image will be modified. This help document describes the Fill Image VI in detail and can provide some good information for you.
Essentially, the locations of any non-zero pixels in your Image Mask are where the new pixel value will be set in your original Image. Does that make sense? So if you know where your alignment region is then you can use an image mask with Fill Image to set the alignment region and the border to zero. If you don't use an Image Mask, the Fill Image VI will assign the new pixel value to the entire original image.

How to import multiple images NOT sequences?

I'd like to create a slide show in After Effects. I have about 300 photos in 20 folders - of which the client will only choose 100 or so.
I'd like to keep all the files in their same directories/keep the folder structure identical. So I'd like to drag and drop these 20 folders into AE and have it match up - only problem is AE thinks I want these to be sequences! Any advice? Thanks!

I have done what it said in a previous question and exported my IE RSS feeds, but I can't understand how to import them into FireFox ot how to view them once they are imported.

Importing RAW images from Canon S50 doesn't work

I took some pictures with my Canon Powershot S50 in RAW mode but iPhoto '08 won't read them. Apple lists this camera as having a readable RAW format. What could be the problem?

How, in Illustrator CS5, can I select all objects with three points (or nodes)?

I am quite new to Illustrator, but it seems this should be simple. (It is trivial in CorelDraw X4: After selecting an object with three nodes, I go to Edit > Find and Replace > Find Objects > Find objects that match the currently selected object, and navigate through the remaining menus.)
In Illustrator CS5, the options under Select > Same do not seem to include selecting all objects with the same number of nodes as the currently selected object.
Double-clicking on the Magic Wand Tool also fails to provide such an option.

P.S. Also useful would be knowing how to add other criteria to this search, e.g. how to select all objects with three points *and* the current fill color.

Java, WSDL, SSL How do these work?

Im writing an application that uses SOAP, WSDL to communicate to the Web Service, I already created classes that are defined in the WSDL File.
My Problem is, when i try to connect to the server, the server displays an error "Problem Executing SSL accept"

How to invoke a short lived process using web service start point?

I have a custom short-lived process that does not take any input parameter. I am able to successfully invoke the process from LiveCycle Workbench ES2. I want this process to be invoked by a java client through a web service call. Apart from the web service URL of my process (which looks like
http://<server>:<portno>/soap/services/MyApplication/MyProcess?wsdl&lc_version=9.0.0&versi on=1.0) do the java client know anything else? Any authentication is required?
My intention is to just find out what all the consumer of this process needs to know to invoke it through a web service call.
Was anybody able to test a short-lived process through a web service invocation from SoapUI?

How come these variables can't be initialized?

My variables v1,v2,v3 and name error when compiling are erroring saying "Cannot find symbol". I know it's probobly be something simple but I am stumped. here is the section of code this is happening:

The variables v1, v2, v3 and name are created right there. I just don't understand why it doesn't actually create them or at least give an error as to why they are not created.I'm stood on one side of the partition separating my office from the next one. The compiler is telling you exactly what the problem is. It generally does. Nothing is being created because creation happens at runtime, and to run, you first need to compile, and to compile, you first need to sort out your scoping problems!
Declare those variables outside of the loop. You need not actually assign any value to them there, but they need to be decalred there to be visible outside of that loop

CS6 Imports my Images twice (Makes it impossible to sequence PNGs)

Pretty straight forward but a big hassle to deal with. I will go to import a sequence of PNGs and get the prompt as it should, but as soon as it starts to import the first image it gives me a library conflict stating "One or more library items already exist in the document." Once I choose my option it will import the rest of the images in the library, not on the stage, and not sequenced.
Being the tester I am I imported only one image (with no duplicates existing since I started a new file) and I can see Flash importing two of the same image. If someone could shed some light on this it would be great. If there is no apparent solution is it possible to sequence directly from the library after import? I am looking to import a lot of sequences very soon and working everything one frame at a time would be a nightmare X_X

Try this:
Drag all of your bitmap assets from the library to the stage. Click the Frame to select all of the items and set where you want the top left corner to be. Then run the Distribute to Frames command.
Does that sound like a workaround that would do the same thing you're used to the bmp sequencing doing?
