NW 04 Sneak Preview instaling error

Hi I am trying install NW 04 Sneakpreview which has downloaded from SDN.
I am struck at 22 of 33 (Load Java Content) installation step giving an error.

It is problem with the database, I started the database.

Hi All,
I have installed WAS 6.4 SP3 sneak preview over SQL server 2000. I get the following error message while patching from WAS SP3 to SP5 ( this patch is included as part of the sneak preview zip package) during DEPLOY ONLINE stage.
ERROR
MUT-02041 SDM call of deploySdaList ends with returncode 4. See output of logfile D:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\PATCH\MSS\callSdmViaSapinst.log.

SAP NW sneak preview install fails due to error on util_connect

I am attempting to install netweaver sneak preview 2004s on a windows server. When I get to the MaxDB database installation step, the install fails and the following data is in the XCMDOUT.LOG log file:

I get the same error when I attempt to provide the command util_connect manually as well.

if you're installing on the target machine using a Windows Terminal Service (WTS) connection, then the reason for your issue should be explained in note 688028.

Aaahhh, where to look for? I'm not sure about the NW04 installation, but on SP2 it has been under /usr/sap/.../j2ee/.../cluster/server/managers/console_logs/..._error.log

NW04s 07 java sneak preview installation error

I am getting the following error when I am trying to install NW04s 07 java Sneak preview .
ERROR 2006-09-20 00:15:09
MOS-01185 The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EraserUtilRebootDrv' does not exist on the 'localhost' host.
I have the localhost entry in the hosts.ini file and turned off Norton anti virus.

I made it till here working through various hurdles ,now I am little lost .The installation is having issues on step 13 of 40

Sneak Preview WDA - Error after I restart my laptop

Hi,
Happy Xmas to you all.
I successfully installed "NetWeaver 2004s Sneak Preview ABAP" in my notebook, after I install I was able to logon (NSP) and was able to see the example given in the document and was able to successfully test the example. But for some reason I restarted my notebook and when I try to logon again I am getting error partner not reached (host XXX.X.X.X, service sapdp00) WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused. What could be the reason and how I can overcome this error? Did anyone face the same problem? Could someone help me in resolving this problem.
FYI: I was able to logon to other systems (on server through network) but the problem is with NSP.

This would have had definitely solved my problem yesterday, but, because of my impatience or because of my eagerness to work on that Sneak Preview, I myself couldnt wait for such a long time for the response from you or from anybody and played around with the installation and with that I started facing the problems and later realized that I should use MMC to start the engine. Now I logged my recent problem in the following Topic Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004 - Error while installing it again. If you can, could you help me in resolving this issue?

Sneak preview Installation error, file source.properties not found

Hi all,
I am trying to install sneak preview (SAPNW2004sJavaSP9_Trial) with j2sdk-1_4_2_09 and jce_policy-1_4_2.zip as specified. The Installation was success upto a while but when I pass parameters to "secure store settings" it says there is no source.properties file in sneakpreview\java\ like that. If somebody have met with a similar problem and could overcome please help. Helping answer rewarded.

Installing SAP Netweaver sneak preview license error

I have appiled and recieved a license from SAP. When I tried to install it using saplicense command, I got the following error. Please help, I am not sure how to set the dbms_type and DIR_LIBRARY environment variables. I am using MYSQL and installed the NW portal under Windows XP professional SP2.

I switched to use j2eadm acct to run saplicense -install ifile=licensefile. It seems the environment variables are set correctly by default but it complains about database connection this time. Here are the error message:

Cannot connect to db after WAS 6.40 Sneak Preview Install

At one time I had the 6.20 ABAP test Drive and the 6.30 Java NW Dev. Stuio installed on my system. All was fine, and they lived in harmony. Windows services showed services for SAPDB: J2E and BSP (and a bunch of other SAPDB: servoces, too: CSAPxxxxx, e.g.). I am now trying to insatll the 6.40 ABAP stack.
I uninstalled the Java 6.30 NW DS system. (I see that the SAPDB J2E services are still there - what's up with that?)
I installed the 6.40 ABAP stack with no problems whatsoever. I secured a license from Walldorf, and now I'm trying to install it. When I run saplicense - install from a CMD window, I get the following error:
DBSlConnect error - RC = 99
SQL Error 709
This error occurs whether I've started the NSP system ID in SAPMMC or not. (When I start the NSP server, it's all green, except for two red lightning bolts, under

My temporary license on NSP WAS 6.40 is expired and I requested a new one. System runs and I can call the logon screen via sapgui but logon to the system is not possible because of the expired license and via CMD (dos box) I receive the following error:

My WAS 6.20 BSP on another partition runs very well and there I had never a problem. Also the DATABase Manager of maxdb shows no problems and can connect to NSP.
I found many remarks about this problem but no solution is working.
Also the saplicense -test pf=<profile> runs until the connect to the db:

Installation of NSP is on drive D (sapdb\programs and usr\sap.. The database is on drive F:\sapdb\NSP
Last remark: The system worked fine after installation on (23/1/2006) until I had to enter the first license.

Hi Eric,
Not being an administrator would cause this problem. If you are an administrator also ensure that you check that your account has the correct policy settings:
Adjust memory quotas for a process
Act as a part of the operating system
Replace process level token
Ensure that this is correct and you have full admin I am sure you will get past the error.

CCMS and Sneak Preview

We have both ABAP (NSP) and J2EE (J2E) sneak preview installed on a common laptop.
In setting up CCMS tests using NSP as the CEN system, we got a failure when registereing J2E as a monitored system from the Visual Administrator.
The error occurs because an RFC (SALS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO) fails when calling NSP. The message is "cannot get version".
This makes me wonder if such CCMS testing is valid with the sneak preview version.
Anybody get CCMS monitoring working between the ABAP and J2EE sneak preview version?

1. System alias is defined.
2. User mapping is defined for that alias and you use the same use in Visual Composer Story Board.
3. You have installed the latest SDAs from patch 2 on the portal side.

Install error: J2E already exists

I had to abort my first installation of the Java Sneak Preview, because my C: drive was running out of space. I am using a 2nd disk for the database. After carving out some more room on C:, I tried to cleanly and thoroughly wipe out all traces of the failed install before trying again. Unstalling MaxDB from Windows's Add/Remove Programs wouldn't work (I don't remember the exact error, but it was running the uninstall script with -all and reported it couldn't do this because I needed to get rid of an instance first ???). Since the database was on my removable D: drive, I finally got rid of it the old fashioned way: I reformatted the disk. I also deleted any trace of "J2E" I could find in the Windows XP registry. Nevertheless, my retry of the Sneak Preview install fails on a sapdb_db_create statement, with the root problem as reported in XCMDOUT.LOG that J2E already exists:

Since I literally wiped out the database, can anyone tell me where the installation is still detecting the existence of J2E? How can I get rid of all traces?
And since the initial problem I had was too little free disk space on my C: drive, and since I bought a second hard drive precisely to get around this problem, is it possible to direct not just MaxDB but the Was 6.40/J2EE Engine itself to my D: drive (it seemed to install on C:\usr\... without my having any choice in the matter)?

That worked: After dropping the instance, I was able to cleanly deinstall MaxDB and try the Sneak Preview installation from scratch. I've rewarded points accordingly.
However, I then ran into another problem perhaps you can help with. I will explain it here, but please let me know if you would like me to post it in a new thread, so you can potentially get separate points for this one :-).
So here's the new problem: The installation hung during the 22nd task, Load Java Database Content. I let it run about 12 hours, before giving up, clicking Log Off, and rebooting my laptop. In jload.java.log, there are entries for the first couple minutes after that task began, then nothing. So after rebooting my machine, I crossed my fingers and tried to recontinue the installation, but I get an error, the root cause of which seems to be that the database needs to be restarted?:

Sneak Preview WAS & EP60_SP4 - Issue

I installed the sneak preview of WAS server with EP60_SP4.The installation went thru
successfully.
After the installation i am able to login and i get the "Portal Content" page
(path:: Content Administration->Portal Content)
But when i try to access any of the other menu options( and sub menu options ) namely the
"User Administration" or "System Administration" or "Welcome" pages the content is not
getting loaded and all i get is the "Loading" message(with the animated icon)....it goes on
& on.
but the menu options in the top right hand corner namely "Help" , "Peronalize" , "Logoff"
work.
Eventhough i am unable to do anything in the EP ( http://<server-name>:50000/irj )
I am able to delpoy and run "J2EE Engine Examples" from the WAS home page
(http://<server-name>:50000)
Has anyone encountered this problem before ?
Any ideas about how to troubleshoot this issue ?.............where to look & what to look
for.........any suggestions ?........thanks in advance

I have the same problem at my first sneak preview install. But after rebooting my machine and restarting everything again SQL server > start SAP from SAP Management, wait for a while. After that everything went fine.
By the way, what is your hardware configuration?.
