NWDI in the XI scenarion, SLD

Experts,
I have created a track to transport the XI content.
We are currently using 2 SLDs. the first for the XI which contains all the XI business system details and the second SDL only for NWDI.
The SLD for NWDI currently has only the Software Component details and does'nt contain and system details.
My question-
DOes the SLD for NWDI need XI system details???? According to my understanding, NWDI needs only the component information from the SLD. The actual transport of the sources is done using the SDM. Am i correct??

that's true. You will require XI component information in NWDI only if you are maintaining any objects like modules, services for XI using NWDI.
When coming to transports, you can maintain tracks to maintain the information for XI as well as NWDI seperately.

Did a little research and found that the SC information is sufficient for NWDI.

In solution manager system not showing all the system in SLD

Dear Gurus,
During the installation of solution manger sysyem i selected as a Central SLD as solution manager
Later installed ECC 6.0 and EP systems selected SLD as solution manager system during the instllation.
If i login in to http://hostname:50000/sld (solution manger system) and the screen also not showing all the options also. some options missing in the tab. Wat I need to do to see all the options clearly.
It is not showing all the systems if i check in EP and ECC for SLDCHECK it is not givng any errror.
But if i login into solution manger not able to see all the system in SLD.

Cannot see the system in sld

I just installed Web AS 7.0 and EP7.0 (NW2004s). The SLD is located in another system. While installing I choose the option <b>'conntect to the existing SDL'</b>
but now after the installation I do not see the system I just installed in the SLD.
Also when I checkd in Visual Admin and checked the SLD Data Supplier, everything looks correct and status is runniing and when I triggered a data transfer I get the following error
<b>Operation failed! Failed to collect SLD data. Failed to send HTTP data:401: Unauthorized. Please check if the target SLD system is available and the SLD bridge is started there.</b>
Can anyone please guide me what I am missing here.

I am unable to see the adminstartor link enabled in the SLD screen to start the data bridges and sld server. can any one tell me how to get admin link to be enabled. I have already created the lcr role and assigned it to sldadministrator role and mapped admin user to this group and cliked the button in sld data supplier using VA. but still I am facing the same problem

Hello Sree,
U do not need to configure peoplesoft in SLD, you can create business service for that.
After that use file adapter (FTP if needed) and pick up file.

NWDI for the 04s preview fails with 'SLD name-server configuration error'

After the installation, everything seems to work fine except that when I go to CMS, the links on the top seems to be hardcoded to point to http://pwdf3102:50100/dtr, even in the Domain Data. When I tried to change it to my local server, it keeps complaining about "Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: <Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSExceptionMessages', ID='SLD name-server configuration error', Arguments: []> : Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key SLD name-server configuration error"
Any suggestions on how to work around this? Thanks.

Try to import the model file first by going to SLD->Administration->Import CIM Model. If the problem sticks, then try to remove the systems. The preview version has lots of pre-exist system name in the technical system, which you can find giving errors since they're not reachable. So you can remove them from SLD (Home->Technical Systems) if they are preventing you from procceeding.
You need to go to http://server:port/dtr/system-tools/administration/NameServerConfiguration to update the name server as well.

How to change the Langue in SLD

Hi All,
just a simple question: how can I change the the language for the SLD? I have set the default language for my User to EN but the startsite is displayed in german, also the tools, except the administration, this is in english.

Hi Markus,
not quite sure if I understand you correctly, but as the SLD is displayed in your Browser, check the language settings of your Browser.
For example in MS IE: Tools > Internet Options
Pushbutton: Languages ...
Here you should add English and move it to the top.

Unable to view Imported DC from NWDI in the webdynpro explorer view

Hello,
I am facing problem with NWDS version 2.0.22. we are upgradeing EP04 SPS 14 to sps 22. When I import a DC project from NWDI from inactive view of development configuration perspective I cannot see the created DC's in Webdynpro Explorer view of webdynpro perspective but it is showing in Navigator view.
Also when I create Webdynpro Project or Webdynpro DC locally I was able to see it in Webdynpro Explorer view.
Can any one please tell me why I was not able to view imported Webdynpro DC's that I create from Inactive view of Development Configurations perspective (selected DC in inactive view and right click and create project).
Also when I compared the Folder structure in the Navigator view of Webdynpro perspective.   I found below folders structure differences.
Imported DC from Inactive View of Development configurations
Folders:
cfg, def, gen, Model Folder (and sub-forders), src(and sub-forders), test.
Files:
.dcdef and .project
Locally created DC (which is visible in the Webdynpro Explorer view)
Folders:
bin, cfg, def, gen, gen_ddic(and sub-forders), gen_wdp(and sub-forders), lib, META-INF, Model Folder, src(and sub-forders), test.
Files:
.classpath
.dcdef
.project.

Conflict for a XI track in NWDI on the assembly tab

I have defined a XI track in NWDI/CMS. But on Assembly tab I get a conflict error. The log message is:

The following logs exist for the assembly step:
●      Check-assembly: Checks whether the prerequisites for a successful assembly exist. The following individual checks are performed:
○       Are there open build requests in the buildspace?
○       Are there open conflicts in the workspace?
○       Are there any broken DCs in the build compartment?
○       Are there any dirty DCs in the build compartment?
○       Are there any problem DCs in the build compartment?
○       Are there any pending activities that are not yet completely activated?
For detailed monitoring of a central build, use the Web UI of the Component Build Service (CBS).

If the track deletion in CMS should fail for some reason, CBS administrators can delete a buildspace manually.
       1.      Start the CBS Web UI.
       2.      Navigate to the Buildspaces view.
       3.      Select a buildspace to delete.
       4.      Choose Delete.

NWDI Issue : The project is not in DTR

Hi Friends,
We have created a NWDI based project. 2 peoples are working on same NWDI based WD project on 2 diff view. After Sync the project its not allowing the other person to edit the project .Its giving the following error.
The operation requires the writeability of the following Objects:
The project is not in DTR, but there are readonly files!

How register the ECC to SLD

Hi All,
I know the we could use RZ70 to register the ABAP system to SLD
but it seems RZ70 only could register it as the technical system in SLD
but i am wondering is it possible to register the client as the business system in SLD?
let's say: ECC host is erp, and the client is 100, how to register ERPCLNT100 into SLD automatically???

What 's the user for SLD

Hi all :
     I'd like to log onto SLD with J2EE_admin and XIsuper, after log on , all buttons like 'Administration' are all grey (don't work). some message at the top says that missing role for these two users. I tried add all roles to the two users with SU01 , but that doesn't work.
     Would you please tell me how to correct this , how to add roles to these two users. or are there any more users to log on and administrator on SLD?

Following are SLD Specific roles.
SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR
SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR
SAP_SLD_DEVELOPER
SAP_SLD_GUEST
SAP_SLD_ORGANIZER
As per your requirement add the corresponding role to your ID.
For the UME access privileges are controlled by UME actions. So go to the role maintenance screen, In Assigned Actions tab search for actions "LcrUser" and assign it to role.

Issues with the DBACOCKPIT and SLD (sp stack 13)

Dear all,
we activated an SLD on our Solutione Manager box (sp stack 13) and were able to import all the landscape into the DBACOCKPIT, so far so good.
I understood that is necessary to go fo some post-processing in order to be able to get access to the remote mssql SAP DBs.
BTW, I'm trying to connect first a NW7.0 system with SP stack 12.
I've tried to follow note Note 1050292 - MSSQL DBACOCKPIT : multiple errors on various screens as it is apparently the way to go, but no luck.
Also I don't understand why the DBACOCKPIT continues to complain for not using the 'dbo' user, our DBs are all schemas non-dbo.
Any help in understanding the DBACOCKPIT config for the remote mssql DBs would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

Ok,
we solved the issue bu ourselves.
The DBACOCKPIT now 'wants' to create a monitoring schema over the mssql target db, using the naming convention 'SAPSolMan710'
You have to 'repair' then 'create' the monitoring schema as described in Note 1050292 - MSSQL DBACOCKPIT : multiple errors on various screens
Once again SAP didn't help and we had to find the solution thru their own notes !

The comunication between SLD and SAP systems.

Here is a statement from SAP official document:
By copying the files slddest.cfg and slddest.cfg.key, you have configured TREX for integration in the System Landscape Directory (SLD).
TREX checks every five minutes whether anything has changed in the TREX system landscape and reports any changes automatically to the SLD server. If nothing has changed, TREX reports every twelve hours to the SLD server. This allows you to see that this landscape is still active.
I wonder whether all other SAP systems communicate with SLD in the same fashion as above? If NOT , what is different?

"JCo RFC Provider for accessing SLD data from ABAP-based systems. SLD has a built-in API for Java-based systems that requires no manual configuration for JAVA based systems"
