OBIEE 10G deliver content dynamic name

For example, I want to send the answer report to a user every day via email. The name of the answer report is 'promotion aaa'. Is it possible to send the report as an excel attachment with name like promotion aaa [day], where day can be from a variable? I know I can do that in Headline or in the body of email but it would be better to have a dynamic name in the attachment. Thanks.

I dont think you can do that.

  • OBIEE 10g AGO Function Dynamically Change the Heading

    I created columns in my rpd named Sales Previous Month, Sales 2 months ago and Sales 3 months ago using the AGO Function. This is working fine.
    My problem is when displaying these headings the users would like to see the Month Name instead of the Headings I created. For example if looking at a report for January the users would like to see:
    Sales Previous Month = December
    Sales 2 Months ago = November
    Sales 3 Months ago = October
    Is there any way to dynamically change the value of the column header to show the name of the month?

    Hi SriniVEERAVALLI,
    Thanks for the reply. I have found that I might haven't created the relationship between dimension and fact tables correctly.
    I initially created the foreign key relationship (instead of creating complex join) in physical diagram between the dimension and fact table. And the relationship type is hence greyed out.
    I have deleted the foreign key relationship in physical diagram. Then
    1. In physical diagram, create complex join between dimension and fact . The relationship is 'inner' and can't be changed.
    2. In Logical table diagram, create foreign key between dimension and fact . The relationship can be changed (inner, outer, etc).
    Is this the correct way?
    I tried these on two newly created dummy tables and it worked.

  • Dynamic dashboard page name in obiee 10g

    Hi All,
    Can we set the dynamic dashboard page name in obiee 10g.
    if yes, please give me details about this.
    thanx & regards
    Prashant

    Prashant,
    You can't have the page name change dynamically. The only option left is to create duplicate pages with different names and apply object level security based on different grps.

  • EPMMaster.rpd Fusion Pack migration from OBIEE 10g to 11g

    We have successfully installed OBIEE 10g and 11g on Windows 2008 32bit servers. On the 10g Installation, we have applied the Fusion Pack EPMMaster RPD file and it connects successfully to our EPM warehouse. We want to migrate the Fusion pack to 11g which is also setup on the same platform. Per the instructions in the documentation, we have copied the files (RPD file and Webcat folder) to the 11g server. We run the UA.bat file and it proceeds to start copying the files over fom the RPD and WebCatalog to the new system. It completes this process, but then hangs on starting the Oracle BI server - it never gets beyond that.
    We will be purchasing the EPMMaster RPD and know it is not available yet for 11g – however we’re trying to get ahead of the curve a bit and manually fix the items in the presentation layer that will not render correctly in 11g
    upgrade exception occurred
    Unable to start process: instance1: coreapplication_obis1
    One thing that I noticed – Since the UA tool does not completely finish --
    RPD size on 10g – 42,675KB; 11g – 6,375KB
    I manually change the webcat in Enterprise Manager to the EPMMaster catalog -this actually caused additional errors on restart.
    Has anyone attempted upgrading a delivered RPD to 11g?
    Thanks in advance -

    This is a known issue that we have worked through with Oracle tech support. The Dimension Deduction.Deduction Sid causes an error that prevents the UA tool from completing the upgrade process. There are a couple of ways around this, but the fastest is to simply delete the Dimension, the two related hierarchies and the fact table that is joined to this dimension. Physical table do not need to be touched however. There are still issues once it’s moved to 11g, but those can be addressed post migration. Thanks much to the Oracle support team for helping us out with this issue!

  • Percentile_Disc Function in OBIEE 10g - Help needed at the earliest

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement of using PERCENTILE_DISC function in OBIEE 10g repository. I tried NTile function, to fetch the percentile. But that is not what am intending to see.
    I have a requirement something similar to this, to be implemented in repository. Could anyone throw some light in this regard?
    PERCENTILE_DISC(.25) WITHIN GROUP (ORDER BY F.Days asc) OVER (PARTITION BY A.NAME, B.PLACE)
    Here F = Fact
    A = 1st Dimension
    B = 2nd Dimension
    Days = Is calculated as TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_DAY, A.DATE, B.DATE). Established Inner Join, to fetch this calculation in to the FACT
    Appreciate your responses at the earliest. Thanks once again.
    Regards,
    Sarat Nallapati

    Hi,
    I don't have any idea on percentile_disc.
    But,in OBIEE we have a function PERCENTILE()
    It will give the percentage of each value in the total sum of all the values.
    once check it.

  • How to pass dynamic name to a field-symbol?

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement like I need to create dynamic internal table with dynamic name. Say like,
    Create a new Table
       CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
        EXPORTING
         it_fieldcatalog = it_fieldcat_fin[]
        IMPORTING
         ep_table        = new_table.
        IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
    Create a new Line with the same structure of the table.
         ASSIGN new_table->* to <b>(<fs_table>)</b>.
    In the above code, (<fs_table>) is a variable. Actually it is in the loop, so that first time it comes, it has to create an internal table with name as <fs_01>, next time <fs_02> and so on. Hope I am clear.
    Please help me. I am sure that i will mark the helpful answers.

    DATA: DREF TYPE REF TO DATA,WA_REF TYPE REF TO DATA.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <TEMP_TAB> TYPE TABLE, <TEMP_WA> TYPE ANY.
    *&      Form  DYNAMIC_TABLE
          text
    -->  p1        text
    <--  p2        text
    FORM DYNAMIC_TABLE.
      CALL METHOD CL_ALV_TABLE_CREATE=>CREATE_DYNAMIC_TABLE
        EXPORTING
          IT_FIELDCATALOG = LT_LVCFIELDCAT
        IMPORTING
          EP_TABLE        = DREF.
      ASSIGN dref->*  TO <TEMP_TAB>.
    ENDFORM.                    " DYNAMIC_TABLE
    the above is the procedure to create dynamic internal tables.
    now <TEMP_TAB> points to the contents of the table table in DREF.
    field symbol it self is meant for dynamic.
    then y r u using (<fs_table>).
    when everytime the same fieldsymbol is pointing to new contents, y u need new name everytime?
    i mean as the data is not static, so what is the use of naming a field symbol every time?.
    if u want to store the data in an internal table with a name,
    then u can do like below,
    data: tabname type string, i type i.
    concatenate '<fs_' i into tabname.
    "let i be the variable which stores the internal tables count
    "MOVE <temp_tab> to tabname.

  • Retrieving dynamic name files from FTP

    Hello,
    I have a scenario where PI needs to pull a file from a FTP site with a dynamic format of VendorYYYYMMDD.txt;  A new one is placed there every day.
    One posting has an example is from ASM to PI to FTP: Re: Change in time stamp format in receiver file name.  However mine is FTP to PI to ECC.  I have thought of using a synchronous call from Sender ABAP proxy to PI to Receiver FTP adapter; However, the FTP adapter cannot poll (i.e. it only has target name).
    Question: What is the best method to put a dynamic name into the Sender FTP adapter?
    Regards,
    John_Xi

    >>Question: What is the best method to put a dynamic name into the Sender FTP adapter?
    I think you can do in the file sender adapter " Run operating system command before processing"  where you can specify shell script which willl create the file name dynamically you want or rename the placed file using the script as per the requirement.  For further help .. check this link

  • Creating Dynamic Internal table with a dynamic name

    Hi,
    I want to create dynamic internal tables with dynamic names.
    For example:
    Suppose I have a table with three fields.
    1. Structure name
    2.Fields
    3.file
    And the structure of the internal table is as follows:
    TYPES:BEGIN OF table_type,
          struct                  TYPE char70,
          fields                   TYPE tt_type OCCURS 0,
          File                      TYPE ttab_type OCCURS 0,
          END OF table_type.
    Suppose I have one record inside my internal table with struct as "STRUCTURE", fields have an internal table content of set of fields and File has some set of records.
    Now I want to create dynamic internal table whose name will be "STRUCTURE" , the fields of the dynamic internal table structure[] will be as in fields, and the records will be as in File.
    Like this if i have 100 records in my internal table then I have to create 100 dynamic internal table dynamically.
    Can anyone suggest how to do this?

  • OBIEE 10G outer join

    Hi, I am new to OBIEE 10G.
    I have a DimA (dimension), FactA (fact). I mapped foreign key relationship between DimA and FactA on DimA.A = FactA.A in BMM, the relationship is inner and greyed out, so I can't change it to outer join.
    So in the answers report, it only shows data of the inner join of the two tables. What I want is to show all items in DimA and related items of FactA or 0 for those not related.
    I have posted a similar question here before https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2596618
    But I still can't modify the relationship (still greyed out) even if I opened a offline repository.
    And what I am thinking is is there an option in answers to dynamically control the join (inner or outer). For example, sometimes I want to show only matched DimA and FactA , sometimes all DimA and related FactA or 0, so that I don't have to modify the BMM in repository every time if the requirement changes.
    What's the best practice for this case?
    Thanks.

    While updating data in DB using obiee 10g i am getting an error system is not able to read the template while updating.
    i have put the template in \OracleBI\web\msgdb\customMessages folder . Can anyone please suggest what might be the problem .

    </writeBack>
    </XML>
    </webMessage>
    </webMessageTable>
    </webMessageTables>
    Please help.

    Hi,
    Insert query is not mandatory.
    But you need to include a space between <insert> </insert>. So that s how it works. Check the xml with space in between the insert tag and it will work fine.
    This will resolve your problem. Please award if its helpful/useful to you.

    I am trying to set up an answer report to be scheduled to users by emails.
    So far I have followed this OBIEE 10G - BI Scheduler Configuration (for Delivers) | GerardNico.com (BI, OBIEE, OWB, DataWarehouse)

    So I have set up an email smtp in Job manager -  scheduler configuration. It's a non SSL smtp and I have tested the smtp information on another application to make sure it's correct. I restarted presentation server and scheduler in windows - service. But when I test the iBOT, I got following error message:

  • Physical Table (Dynamic Name) x Physical Table x Alias

    Hello,
    We are customizing the standard OBI Applications .rpd. but this question is in reference to OBIEE, hence the post here.
    I have no problems with Physical Tables and Alias in the Physical layer.
    It just happens that the standard OBI Applications .rdp has some other 'physical tables' - the one for: Dim_W_PARTY_ORG_D_Customer that in its properties uses a Dynamic Name pointing to a variable that contains W_PARTY_ORG_D.
    There are other similar cases in the vanilla .rpd
    I fail to understand why sometimes (most of the time) the vanilla .rpd uses Alias and in these few cases use this strange Physical table. Pls. anyone would care to comment ?
    As we expand W_PARTY_ORG_D with new columns... these new columns are NOT automatically part of the Dim_W_PARTY_ORG_D_Customer as it happens in an Alias definition.
    Txs. for any comments.
    Antonio

    Hi Antonio,
    From the 11g documentation (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10540/physicallayer.htm#i1005872) ;
    Select this option to use a session variable to specify the physical table name, similar to catalog and schema objects. This option is available for non-multidimensional data source tables when you select a table type of Physical Table.
    You might want to choose this option if you have a multi-tenancy implementation and you want to define a separate physical table name for each customer. Another example would be to select between primary and shadow tables that are valid at different times in your ETL cycle. In both cases, you can assign session variables to dynamically select the appropriate table.
    Hope this helps.
