You seem to be experiencing a connection timeout. It can be all sorts of reasons. It might just work if you try again later. However, there is no reason to enable all the repositories. It will cause a lot of unnecessary processing and traffic. I suggest you restore the default repository configuration using the following command:
su - root
wget http://public-yum.oracle.com/public-yum-ol6.repo \
--output-document /etc/yum.repos.d/public-yum-ol6.repo
yum clean all
yum makecache

  • Agent for RH5 x86_64?

    Is there an agent that can be installed on Red Hat 5 EL x86_64? I downloaded the 64 bit 10.2.0.3 agent but attempting to push it from Grid Control results in an error message that the agent is only supported on RH3/RH4. Attempting to install driectly on RH5 using the runInstaller gets an UnsatisfiedLinkError looking for jre/1.4.2/lib/i386/libawt.so. Is there a trick I need to do to get the runInstaller to run on 64 bit? I didn't have any problem installing 64 bit CRS/ASM using the runInstaller as/is from those downloads.
    thanks.

    Do you not have metalink or did you try their suggestion/note?

    Cause
    The i386 version of the libXp package is missing. The Oracle Universal Installer ( OUI ) requires the file libXp.so.6 and this file is installed with the package libXp in RHEL 5 and OEL 5.
    Issue the following to confirm the missing rpm:
    % rpm -qa --queryformat "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE} (%{ARCH})\n" | grep libXp
    Solution
    The package libXp was not installed in RHEL 5/OEL 5 with default RPM packages, so it will need to be installed manually. In RHEL 4 this file was provided by the package xorg-x11-deprecated-libs which is installed with default package installation but this is not the case for RHEL5/OEL5 and is now provided with a different rpm, the libXp rpm.
    Install the package libXp by the command:
    # rpm -ivh </path/to/>libXp.<version>.i386.rpm

  • How to solve the issue "OEL 5.6 boot Oracle ASMLib driver: FAILED" ?

    Folks,
    Hello. I am installing Oracle 11gR2 RAC using 2 VMs (rac1 and rac2) whose OS are Oracle Linux 5.6 in VMPlayer.
    I downloaded Oracle Linux 5.6 Media Pack for x86_64 (file name V24479-01) from https://edelivery.oracle.com/linux.
    I have installed OEL 5.6 for VM rac1 and done the follows:
    1) install rpm and oracleasm packages for rac1.
    2) edit /etc/hosts to set up IP addresses for eth0 and eth1 for rac1 and rac2.
    3) edit eth0 and eth1 for rac1 by using command [root@rac1 \]# neat
    But when boot the OS, I see "initializing Oracle ASMLib driver: FAILED".
    When configure Oracle ASM library driver by running the command:
    [root@rac1 /]#/etc/init.d/oracleasm configure -i
    Its output "initializing Oracle ASMLib driver: FAILED"
    I think the reason is the OS cannot initialize Oracle ASMLib driver. My question is:
    Do any folk understand how to solve the issue "OEL 5.6 boot Oracle ASMLib driver: FAILED" ?
    Thanks.

    Folks,
    Hello. Thanks a lot for replying. OEL 5.6 comes with 2 kernels: uek and red hat
    I have chosen to use red hat kernel for 64-bit. I run the following command:
    [root@rac1 /]# uname -rm
    Output: 2.6.18-238.el5x86_64
    I have downloaded 4 files for this version of kernel from
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/linux/downloads/rhel5-084877.html as below:
    oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5xen-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5debug-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5-debuginfo-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    I have installed the 4 files and got the error messages for the first 2 files as below:
    [root@rac1 /]# rpm -ivh /home/oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5xen-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    Error: Failed dependencies: kernel-xen=2.6.18-238.el5 is needed by oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5xen-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    [root@rac1 /]# rpm -ivh /home/oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5debug-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    Error: Failed dependencies: kernel-debug=2.6.18-238.el5 is needed by oracleasm-2.6.18-238.el5debug-2.0.5-1.el5.x86_64.rpm
    The last 2 files have been installed successfully. But when reboot Oracle Linux Server-Base 2.6.18-238.el5, I still see :
    "Initializing ASMLib driver: FAILED."
    [root@rac1 /]#/etc/init.d/oracleasm configure -i
    Its output "initializing Oracle ASMLib driver: OK "
    My questions are:
    Does the issue OS "Initializing Oracle ASMLib driver: FAILED" have effect later ? Do we need to solve it ?
    Thanks.

  • Oracle VM OEL Installation issue

    Hi Team,
    I have a new laptop with Windows 8. I am trying to setup the Oracle environment using Oracle Virtual Box. I have downloaded the part numbers V33411-01 (boot) and V33412-01 (Linux). The boot CD boots the server without issues and after few installation steps it prompts for Linux CD. When I insert the same, I get the error “The oracle linux server disc was not found in any of your cd rom drives.”
    When I try to do a media check for the second CD, I get the error “unable to find the checksum in the image. This probably means the disc was created without adding the checksum.”
    I tried to install using the second CD directly but it fails as the CD is not bootable. Can you please help me in fixing this issue?
    Regards,
    Antony

    I don't know exactly what you're trying to do.... but all the installation media for OEL are bootable. I don't why you would have just a "boot" media that would require you to load a second disk... Unless you are using the CD installation and not the DVD iso. Why not just download the DVD iso?

    Hi,
    I have installed OPS Center 11g on an OEL 5 update 5. All prereqs, i think, is met and installation gives no warnings or errors.
    When I try to access the web page to run the configuration wizard. It hangs with the "LOADING" message, after logon. And nothing more happens.
    In the bottom left corner of the browser i have the DONE message. But an error behind.

    Hello Kai,
    I am not sure to completely understand your logs since they don't seem to be written in English but
    could it be that you are using Firefox 4.0 ? ( only firefox 2 and 3 and IE 7 and 8 are supported ).
    Also, do you have enough free RAM ( 1-2 GB ) on the browser's machine ?
    Lastly, you can check the prerequisites with
    /var/opt/sun/xvm/OCDoctor/OCDoctor.sh ec-prereq force
    /var/opt/sun/xvm/OCDoctor/OCDoctor.sh --troubleshoot

  • Intermittent socket issues on OVM running OEL 5.5

    Hi All -
    We wrote a load balancer in C which essentially routes the new user connections to a set of servers (which are Java programs listening at a prespecified port #). Load balancer uses standard socket communication for dispatching the user connections to the server. When a new user connection comes to the load balancer, it picks a least loaded server and tries to make a socket connection to the server and transfers the data back and forth between the client and the server. If the load balancer is unable to make a socket connection to the server (after picking the least loaded server), it marks the server as dead and won't forward any new user connections to that specific server. If this socket connection failure happens for all available servers then it marks all servers as dropped and won't forward any new user connection to any servers since it thinks there are no servers available.
    Below is the code that tries to make the socket connection to the server (from load balancer) -
    (connect( serverSocket, (struct sockaddr *)&(serverAddr), sizeof(serverAddr),NULL,NULL,NULL) == SOCKET_ERROR)
    This is returning an errno - 111 - connection refused.
    Please note that we are still able to connect to the server directly. The above error happens intermittently. Pls let us know of any reasons why the above code fails to connect to the server intermittently. Please note that this is specific to OVM running OEL 5.5.
    thanks

    Hi,
    Could you provide some detailed configuration data please?
    On the guest and the Dom0, to get the network config + the exact kernel versions:
    # uname -a
    # cat /etc/modprobe.conf
    Thanks,

  • 10.2.0.4 on OEL x86-64 Upgrade Path Issues

    I am performing a new installation of Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control (OEM GC). I want to want to run Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.2.04 on Linux x86-64 - OEL 4 update 5. My installation for OMS and Repository will be on one server. I will install the database separate from the OEM GC installation.
    My upgrade path is a full install of Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.2.0.3 followed by patch to 10.2.0.4. I desire to have my databases at 11g so I would have to upgrade 10gR2 database to 11g database as well. My questions are as follows:
    1) Linux x86-64 is not supported on 10.2.0.3 according to certify page. Why is OEL 4 update 4,5 not on Certification page for OEM GC?
    2) What installation instruction set should I follow for 10.2.0.3 GC on Linux x86-64? Linux x86-64 documentation following RHEL install?
    2) Oracle 11g Repository is also not supported on 10.2.0.3. Is it possible (is it supported?) for me to install Oracle Database 11.1.0.6 EE as repository for OEM GC 10.2.0.3 then only patch OEM GC to 10.2.0.4?
    Thank you.

    There is no direct full installer to 10.2.0.3 Database. Do I need to do the following:
    1) Install OEL 4 Update 5 x86_64
    2) Meet prerequisites for Oracle Db 10.2.0.1 (x86_64 - only full installer is 10.2.0.1)
    3) Patch Db to 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.3 (is there a reason for 10.2.0.3)
    4) Install OEM GC 10.2.0.3
    a) requires 10.1.0.4, 10.1.0.5, 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.3 database
    b) use ignore system requirements parameter since OEL 4 Update 5 (x86_64) is not supported
    5) I am not sure if any patches are required to OS, DB or OEM at this level
    6) Patch OEM GC 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.4
    7) I am not sure if any patches are required to OS, DB or OEM at this level
    8) Follow note: 467677.1 replacing OEM GC 10.2.0.1 with my version 10.2.0.3 and upgrade db to 11g
    done
    Does this look correct? Is there a more efficient way?

  • Root.sh script hangs while starting ohasd on OEL

    Hi
    I have installed 11g Oracle grid infrastructure on OEL R5 U6
    I am having an issue when it comes to running the root.sh script
    The script runs fine until it gets to the part where it tries to start ohasd
    Adding daemon to inittab
    CRS-4123: Oracle High Availability Services has been started
    ohasd is startingOnce it reaches this point it hangs. It's been at this part of the root.sh script now for over an hour. I cannot move the mouse or create new ssh sessions. It has completely hung the machine.
    I have ensured that that hosts file has no entries for the host name
    And there does not seem to be any errors in the logs
    Any Ideas on where I can start looking to fix this issue?
    Thanks
    G.

  • Issue in iSupplier Portal after upgrade from 12.1.1 to 12.1.3

    Hi
    After upgrade to 12.1.3, I am getting 'java.lang.NullPointerException' error when I navigate to Oracle iSupplier Portal -> 'Purchase Order' tab. I have pasted the error text below. I have also noted down the errors below, which were reported during the upgrade (since I don't know if they are connected to this issue, and could not fixed as yet).
    Environment_
    1. Oracle EBS = 12.1.3 (upgraded from 12.1.1)
    2. OS = OEL 5.7
    Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks.

    Background of Upgrade*
    Following errors were reported during upgrades but we continued upgrade since they could not be fixed. There are several Invalid objects in the DB that starts with OKC but they still remain even after I tried to recompile them through 'adadmin' or through SQL prompt or 'frmcmp' command (as stated below).
    frmcmp module=%AU_TOP%/resource/OKEKAULN.pll userid=APPS/APPS output_file=%AU_TOP%/resource/OKEKAULN.plx module_type=library batch=no compile_all=special
    I beleive OKC schema is related to 'Oracle Contracts' module.
    The following Oracle Forms objects did not generate successfully:
    au resource OKEKAULN.pll
    au resource OKEDTSFM.pll
    au resource OKEKAUWB.pll
    au resource OKLCSAST.pll
    au resource OKLCSEQX.pll
    au resource OKLCSASD.pll
    au resource OKSPMSCH.pll
    au resource OKSAUCVT.pll
    au resource OKSAUDET.pll
    au resource OKCEXPOR.pll
    au resource OKCKSRCH.pll
    au resource OKSAUBLG.pll
    An error occurred while generating Oracle Forms library files.

    Thanks for replying. I have already applied the mega patch 9239090 to upgrade to 12.1.3. The metalink notes you have given refers to patches released prior to patch 9239090. How to check whether the new patch will not overwrite the one I have already applied and will not conflict with it? Will it be automatically taken care by 'adpatch' utility?adpatch should take care of that and it should not overwrite any file if the file version you have is higher than the one delivered by the patch.
    Thanks,

  • AD4J install issue in the OEL5.4 x86_64 environment

    Hi gurus,
    Anyone has the experience to install AD4J in a OEL5.4 x86_64? Please help to check what's reason to occur this issue.
    The environment is below:
    OS: OEL5.4 x86_64,
    AD4J JVM: jre1.6.0_18 from sun, i download this JVM with the "linux" platform, i think it's 32bit.
    After I installed the AD4J, and configured it. It's work to start the apache and Jserv. but when I use my laptop to connect the AD4J console webpage in the different OEL machine with IE7 , It report JSP Error as below:
    "Request URI:/
    Exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/tools/javac/Main ".
    And I also found there is an error in the jserv.log file:
    " [04/03/2010 01:32:10:034 HKT] Connection from /127.0.0.1
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:034 HKT] Initializing servlet request
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:034 HKT] Reading request data

    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:041 HKT] oracle.jsp.JspServlet: init
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:065 HKT] Calling service()
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:128 HKT] JspServlet: unable to dispatch to requested page: Exception:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/tools/javac/Main
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:131 HKT] Sending response headers.
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:132 HKT] Status: 200 OK
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:132 HKT] Content-Type: text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1
    [04/03/2010 01:32:10:132 HKT] Ignored IOException.
    But meanwhile I have checked the jserv.properties file and found there are some items to wrap the tools.jar into JServ start. Here is the configuration in jserv.properties:
    "wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/ApacheJServ.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/jsdk.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/ojsp.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/ojsputil.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/servlet.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/classes12.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/postgresql-8.0-312.jdbc2.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jre1.6.0_18/lib/dt.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jre1.6.0_18/lib/tools.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/mail.jar
    wrapper.classpath=/home/ad4j/jamserv/lib/activation.jar
    How to solve this issue? By the way, coz it also installed REUI and there is a 64bit JDK existed before I install AD4J.
    Thanks in advance,
    Guoli

    When you ran the configure.sh script, did you include the path to the JDK?

    In OEL5.7 this works fine without any problem. I think this related to OEL6.1, maybe YUM does not understand proxy, my password for proxy starting with @$ but I changed my password and

    No this will not help. Problem is not related to password I changed it and response is It might help, it's worth trying. Try this:
    # export http_proxy='http://proxy.domain.com:3128'
    # wget --proxy-user="xxx" --proxy-password="xxx" http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL6/1/base/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xmlIf that works, it is a yum problem. If it doesn't work, it's a proxy problem.Yes it works , interesting that user and password parameters not working with double quotes only with single.
    I also checked this with YUM but YUM is having problem with passwords that starting
    with "@" symbol. I try to set
    export http_proxy="http://username:\@$passwd@IP:PORT"
    for ignoring "@" symbol but no sucess. With OEL5 this is not a problem. In /etc.yum.conf same username and same password.
    Perhaps I should change my password :)
    and last one thing in my home network I have OEL6.1 ( where fortunately with no proxy :) ) I try update linux with "yum update" command
    and it returns that no packages to update , can you tell me why because there are new kernel avalable and I can download and install this new kernel with command "yum install kernel".

  • Install OEL 6.4 on 3TB harddisk

    Hi Guys,
    I'm trying to install fresh OEL 6.4 (64 bit) over my new 3 TB HDD, (though in BIOS it's showing detected and seeing 3000GB, enabled all required options like onchip SATA Type set it to SATA, EFI CD/DVD Boot  Option to EFI) but unable install it as getting stuck on 'waiting for hardware to initialize'
    I can see starting screen with Oracle Logo and getting 5 options as below,
    1) Install or upgrade an existing system
    2) Install system with basic video driver
    3) Rescue Installed system
    4) Boot from local drive
    5) Memory test
    If I choose 1st option, then DVD loads bootable files but gets stuck on 'waiting for hardware to initialize' and then blank screen with blinking cursor.
    I would like to know how to use parted (as it's more than 2.2 TB) command when HDD is new ? or what is other way out to install OEL on 3TB HDD ?
    (I've tried on my laptop, and installation gets start without any issue)
    yours help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Manish Nashikkar

    The problem is probably your video graphics adapter. I suggest the following:
    While the cursor is on option 1 hit the <tab> key then add the parameter " nomodeset"  and press <enter> to start the system.
    If the above does not work, try option 2.
    Note that OEL has changed to Oracle Linux or short OL and is designed for server hardware. Support for Desktop or Laptop computers is limited and requires depends on open source and hardware vendor.
