OEM 12c Performance Statitics

The OEM 12c Manual lists out parameters to watch for performace issues over a period of time. I cannot figure out where I can find the following infomration
Loader Vital Signs
Loader Threads
     Total Rows/Hour
     Rows/hour/load/thread
     Rows/second/load thread
     Percent of Hour Run
Rollup Statistics
Rows per Second
Percent of Hour Run

For loader related metrics:
- Navigate to the homepage of the Management Service
- From the Oracle Management Service, select Monitoring > All Metrics
- Expand the Active Loader Status folder
For Rollup statistics:
- Go to Setup > > Management Services and Repository
- Select the Repository Operation tab

I would like to start a discussion on the OEM 12c see if anyone has used for SOA Suite 10g. We are currently running on Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.5 we want to make use of OEM 12c for monitoring and perform administration activities. I have gone through some Oracle documents for OEM 12c,I found it's supported up to 10.1.3.4.However I am not so sure so I just wanted to clarify on this.
Can we install the client in Oracle Application Server/SOA OC4J container to perform any administration task,purging,patching,monitor interfaces etc.

The zip p6511843_101330_Generic.zip contains a README.txt which explains the steps to be followed to apply this patch.
In the README.txt
Refer to Section2 point No.1.
Get the latest Opatch from metalink for bug 2617419.[this zip will contain a Opatch Directory].Extract this zip into your Oracle SOA home.[ex: C:/product/101.3.1/OracleAS_1]
Also make sure that the Opatch directory in set in the path.
Since we are running this Opatch on a Basic SOA installtion , you don't have to execute the changeNamesWindows.pl script[make sure that you have installed Basic version of SOA and not the Advanced].
This patch will not work on Advanced Install.
You can directly excute
opatch apply.
Follow the remaining steps mentioned in README.txt.

How to view Dehydration Store Performance in OEM 12c Cloud Control

Hi All,
I have installed OEM 12c Cloud Control.I want to view dehydration store performance for my fusion middleware domain.Can anyone please suggest me how can I achieve this?
I have added the database, where soa schemas are created, as a monitored target in OEM 12c Cloud Control. Also have added Fusion middleware domain for which I want to view dehydration store management.

You should open an SR and support can assist you with it. The only current case where that feature is known to not work is in the case where the Dehydration Store is running on RAC. Otherwise, it should be possible to get it to work. The main thing is that you need to have DB configuration properties (host, port, sid) that have a 3-way string match between the JDBC data source configuration in the WLS server, the JDBC properties you add to the Monitoring Properties of the SOA Infrastructure target, and the connect settings of the Database target in EM that matches to the dehydration DB.
If there isn't a match in all 3, the Dehydration Diagnostics page will not work. But again, to look into your specific setup, you should file an SR and work with support.

OEM 12c + BMC Performance Manager communication.

I'm currently searching for guides or information about OEM 12c communication with BMC Performance Manager.
Today, my BMC PM is monitoring all my oracle databases, what I want to do is use OEM to handle the monitoring, and send critical errors to my BMC PM. This way, it will be easier to hook up new databases to my BMC in the future.
What I'm looking for is people with knowledge on how I do this.. any information, guides or guidelines would really help alot!

EM is showing Host is up makes sense. If I remember correct the OMS pings the host if the agent is down. This will succeed so the host will show up.
Why the agent is showing up does not make sense to me. The agent sends a signal every (default) 120 seconds. If no signal is received by the OMS the OMS sends a reverse ping to the agent. If this does not succeed the agent and its monitored targets should get the state “Agent Unreachable”.

OEM 12c E-Business Suite Plugin Issue

Hello All,
I am currently new to OEM 12c, and I have the latest version installed and running, Version     12.1.0.2.0. So far everything has been running great, and agents have been downloaded and deployed with little to no issues. However, I am now trying to deploy the E-Business Suite Plug-in to the Management Server first, and I receive an error:

I can't seem to find any helpful info on the errors concerning EM-04001 and EM-04026. I did see that there was a bug fix which was required, bug number 13242773. But reading the ReadMe says this is only for OEM version 12.1.0.1.0.
So, my question is, has anyone run into this problem, or have any suggestions on how to get this plug-in deployed successfully?

Start by referencing our “Getting Start” MOS note 1434392.1it contains all the required patches, certification details, and related documentation. Once you are ready to perform the install start out by reviewing Chapter 2 - Installing the Oracle Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite of our Oracle Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite Guide Release 12.1.0.1.0. 3.1.1 upgrade breaks OEM 12c Infrastructure Cloud

After upgrading from 3.0.3 to 3.1.1 (manager first then servers) all of the Oracle VM targets in OEM 12c Infrastructure Cloud have metric collection errors, specifically "ERROR - Failed to connect to OVM Manager1010", i.e. oracle.sysman.vt.ovm.integration.api.EMOVMCommunicationServiceException: 1010: Error while performing the operation: Connection to the remote OVM Manager url tcp://ovm-laforge.sf.mokum.com:54321 failed. I recollect in 12.0, not 12.1, there was a required OVM password deep in a hidden nook in the OEM Infrastructure Cloud GUI, I cant find it in 12.1, could this be the issue?

A quick update, Oracle support just informed me the 3.1.1 is not certified with OEM 12c 12.1. Not very helpful information, but its a start.
At first glance it appears that the OVM development team made changes that break the virtualization plug-in.
Any assistance and/or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Monitoring oracle database from OEM 12c grid control

Hi,
I am using OEM 12c grid control to analysis various server's performance. The application database in oracle database v11g. Is there any problem if i add database on oem to monitor? To be more clear, If it creates any conflict between database's em and oem's em when i want to deploy em agent on database ? Is it necessary to remove database's EM before installing oem agent on it?

Email RMAN backup logs in OEM 12c

I am scheduling my RMAN daily backups via OEM 12c. My goal is that the email notification includes the full log, rather than just the status of results. I was able to do this in 11g fairly easily. I have created a ticket with Oracle, to which they have responded that this may not be possible with 12c. I find that hard to believe. I am probably missing something silly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

In 12c CC, after scheduling database backup job and configuring email notification, system doesn’t successfully email the status of the backup jobs. Email notification within 12c would work otherwise. Interestingly, the notification would not work just for database backup jobs.
Steps to diagnose the issue:
1.Please ensure your database target ‘yourdb’ in issue has been listed in the ‘Job Events For Targets’ by navigating to EM 12c -> Setup -> Incidents -> Job Events
2.If the above doesn’t help, then please do:
2.1 Log on the repository db of EM 12c as SYSMAN user to query the following then upload the output.html file for checking
SQL>set markup html on spool on
SQL>spool output.html
SQL>select * from mgmt_targets where target_name=’PRD1′;
SQL>select * from mgmt_notification_log;
SQL>spool off
2.2 Set EM 12c OMS to DEBUG level
cd <OMS_HOME>/bin
emctl set property -name log4j.rootCategory -value ‘DEBUG, emlogAppender, emtrcAppender’ -module logging
2.3 Then reproduce this issue.
If you find below errors in <gc_inst>/em/EMGC_OMS1/sysman/log/emoms.trc, then perform the below mentioned Resolution to resolve the issue.

How to configure Auto Discovery in OEM 12c

I am new to OEM12c. I need to set up the auto email alerts through OEM 12c. through the Admin guide I have read the procedure.But I am not able to implement it. Can anybody tell me here the detailed procedure to add the managed target in OEM12c. We need to monitor mainly HCM domain form here. Please tell me the prerequisites also. When i try to configure auto discovery of host it asks me for host credentials but i ma not able to get for which credentials it is asking for.

Configuring notification rules in 12c is different from earlier releases.
The concept and function of notification rules has been replaced with a two-tier system consisting of Incident Rules and Incident Rule Sets :
1. Incident Rules: Operate at the lowest level granularity (on discrete events) and performs the same role as notification rules from earlier releases.
By using incident rules, you can automate the response to incoming incidents and their updates.
A rule contains a set of automated actions to be taken on specific events, incidents or problems.
The actions taken are for example : sending e-mails, creating incidents, updating incidents, and creating tickets.
2. Incident Rule Set: A rule set is a collection of rules that applies to a common set of objects, for example, targets, jobs, and templates.

Request Recommendation on OEM 12c Environments

I will be installing OEM 12c CC version 12.1.0.2 on Oracle Linux 6.2 x86-64. We have limited funds and were trying to understand how different environments are used for OEM 12c CC. How there setup.
I am uncertain whether a second Test server is necessary. I can imagine that it's possible to have only one server as long as careful recovery procedures are in place and sufficent time is available for patching and upgrades. How are environments typically setup for OEM 12c CC? Given that targets are already monitored by Prod what does Test manage?

Based on what you've said, the usage of a Test System on a VM would be sufficient. My problem will be to find targets to connect to it. I'll have large periods of time when I won't want the VM running in which case the agent will be out of contact with OMS on VM. I don't know exactly how to handle that.
I am sure that larger organizations would desire to perform more types of testing (Performance etc.) to mitigate there risk based on the usage of there OEM 12c Cloud Control System; therefore they may have more environments and hardware to match.

DB= 11gr2.0.3 / Installed with no problems

Yes of course there is 4gb free space, I checked everything what I know after search in the net and
I found a lot of recurses and articles about OEM 12c installation but most of them is just a
screen shots of installation nothing deeply,(just copy and past from official documentation ) finally I come to this forum :)

NetApp plugin for OEM 12c - DB is not on NFS mounted storage. DB Storage Perf Report empty

Hi, I have installed NetApp Plugin for OEM 12c (12.1.0.3.1) for a Netapp vFiler used for SMO. "Database Storage Utilization" and "Consolidation Database Storage Performance" empty. "Database is not on NFS mounted storage. Hence, no views available." - a. We are using ASM lun created on NFS. Does this means it will not appear in the plugin report ? - b. If point a. is true, is there a way to make the data appear ? I had already verified the BELOW. Only for point 4, I observed MGMT$DB_DATAFILES."OS_STORAGE_ENTITY" is NA (even though the ASM disk is actually on a NFS mount) : 1. Database discovery is done in EM12c . 2. Go to the database “HOST” target in EM 12c and click on the host target on which database resides. From host target drop down, click on “Host-> StorageDetails”. It will launch the “Storage Details” page. Please refer attached screenshot. There is a table displayed on bottom of screen and click on “File Systems” tab and check that your discovered database storage mount point is shown there. (Please note that whenever you define new mount point on host, this list should reflect the change.), otherwise, Database Performance views will not work. This mount point discovery is updated periodically. (It might be possible that DB views are not working because this discovery might not have finished) 3. Please click on NetApp Storage Target type and go to “Target HomePage drop down ->All Metrics”. Please click on “Volume List” metric and confirm if the volume is listed there on which database resides. 4. What i look for is Unix command output

We had that feature on OEM 11g

OEM 12c installation is failed

Hi,
When I run install and configure a new fresh OEM 12c, I meet two errors:
Start Oracle Management Service failed.
Here is from installation log:

OEM 12c vs 11g

When i connect OEM11 and OEM12 to Oracle database 11g and go to "Top Consumers" I see pie charts of top services, modules, actions, clients - similar in both
in 11g when I click on any module in the pie chart, then on next screen I see 3 tabs "ACTIONS", "ACTIVITY", "STATISTICS". I can click on tab "ACTIVITY" which gives me graphical representation of CPU, I/O, ... for that module alone
in 12g when I click on any module, I see 2 tabs "ACTIONS", "STATISTICS" I do not see "ACTIVITY" tab at all.
Is there a way to see this information in 12c?

Could you let me know the release of OEM 12c ? Is it R2 ?
I was able to drilldown to the Activity tab from a module. My environment is OEM 12c R2, DB 11.2.0.3.
You can take a look at the screenshot here
BTW, you can also get the same view using ASH Analytics in 12c ( Performance --> ASH Analytics)
You have to first select the Module dimension --> Filter on the module you want to drilldown to --> Select Wait Events dimension.
