Office 365 University offline installation

I have got an Office 365 University subscription and I need help in installing Office 365 offline. After a bit of searching I found out that I can use Microsoft Office Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run. But I don't know which Product ID I should give
in the configuration file as Office 365 University is unavailable in the list given on this website -
ht tp://support2.microsoft dot com /kb/2842297
(I had to substitute the link with space and words because I was getting an error stating body text can't contain links.)

I haven't tried it, but, O365University seems to be the same features as O365Home(Premium), so maybe this ProductID might work?

  • Office 365 University Error Opening All Products

I am a student at OTC in Springfield, MO. I just purchased Office 365 University Edition today, as it is required for my courses. So, it took forever to download, because my internet is slow. When it was finally done, I could not open any of the programs,
when I tried, I received a message saying, "Windows detected an error with Word, Excell, PP, etc..", then forced me to close my programs. After hours of research on the forums here, I discovered the culprit was a program that came with my Epson printer,
ABBYY-FineReader... I can't even begin to understand why that program would keep me, and everyone else, from using our Office products we paid for. It is extremely frustrating, and time consuming to fix, if you don't know the issue right away. All I
am here to say is, everyone who purchases Office 365/Office 2013 or any other Office product, needs to be informed about this issue, because a lot of people have Epson printers, and not many people would think to research this online like I did. I really hope
for your company's sake, that your team can make a conscious effort to inform people of this problem, to save huge frustration, and I am more than certain, unnecessary returns of your product. I am sure you can understand this request, and I am sure you have
all seen how many people are having this issue, many of which were left unresolved, and most likely returned the product. Thank you for your time.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
For a start-up issue of Office applications, usually, you can start the troubleshooting with the
safe mode or Windows clean boot
    to narrow down the issue.
If issue persists, please post back with more informations, then we will have a further investigation.
I definitely understand the frustration you are having with it and thanks for your feedback. Whenever you have any questions about our products, you can post in the dedicated forum. Our engineers will try their best to help you out.
Thank you and much appreciate your understanding.

  • Problem loading office 365 university

I have just purchased a MacBook Pro 15" w/Retina.  I also purchased Office 365 University.  I followed the instructions included with the Product Key and it appeared to load (i.e. the icons appear across the bottom of my screen).  However, when I attempt to open any of the icons I get the same message asking me to enter the Product Key again and it tells me it is invalid or I get a message asking me to enter my Microsoft UserID/Password and it tells me it is invalid.  I have no idea what I am doing wrong or why it won't accept the Product Key which is being entered correctly.  If anyone else had an issue similar to this please let me know what you did to correct it.  Thanks!

That is not an Apple product. You need to contact Microsoft for support.

There has never been a Mac version of Access. Microsoft never created one, realising that it was very inferior to the FileMaker Pro database application.
So if you must run Access you will have to run Windows on your mac.

My Microsoft Office 365 University, suddenly shut me out of all my word, excel, etc. documents, and won't let me re-enter my product key so I can get back on them. Also it freezes everytime I try to log into my subscription. I feel like I have tried everything, i just really need it to work before spring semester starts

I have a free subscription to Office 365 through my university but I cannot claim my Skype 60 world minutes. I have tried linking my Microsoft Office account with my Skype account but the minutes are not available. What should I do to claim the minutes?

Hit the activate button on the skype minutes.
Be sure to scroll all the way down to claim them.
Wait about 10 minutes and they should be showing in a sidebar when you sign into skype. Try making a call to a landline or mobile.

  • 60 minutes for Office 365

    Hello,
I have a problem with the 60 world minutes which are supposed to be included in my Office 365 University account. I linked my pre-existent Skype account to my Microsoft account and that was that, but the free 60 minutes are nowhere to be found. I am not in one of the counties in which that service doesn't apply. Please tell me how to find and be able to use my 60 minutes of free calling! Thanks in advance!

  • Scrolling problem with Elan UltraNav driver on Thinkpad L430, running Windows 8.1, Office 365

For some reason, touchpad edge scrolling, two-finger scrolling, and trackpoint+middle-button scrolling all fail to run in Microsoft Word 2013 (Office 365 University). They also fail to run in the Metro Mail App; and they mess with the zoom in Google Chrome. However, all three kinds of scrolling work fine in all other programs I've used, including other Office 365 programs (Excel 2013 and OneNote 2013).
I have the latest version of the driver installed (11.4.30.1). I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it several times, to no avail. I was strongly tempted to leave it uninstalled and use standard Windows middle-click for my scroll function instead, but that doesn't work in Windows Explorer (where the only scrollable area is also clickable).
    Thoughts or suggestions?

Trackpoint + middle button scrolling works on all other apps except Google Chrome.    This stopped working recently and after some testing  I found that it is localized to just Chrome.  Works in Firefox, Outlook Mail 2010,  Powerpoint 2010,  etc.   I am using Windows 7 Pro on a X200S.      Is there a Chrome setting involved to correct this?

  • Office 365 ProPlus App-V 5.0 Package installs Lync, Outlook, Infopath and Onenote even though they are not selected for publishing

I have created an App-V 5.0 Package for Office 365 ProPlus using the documentation provided here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219422.aspx
I am able to load the App-V Package into my SCCM 2012 SP1 environment and deploy the package to a test machine
Within SCCM, I have configured the deployment type to only select a couple of applications.  Notice that Lync, Outlook, Infopath and Onenote are not selected.
    http://i.imgur.com/1eMxUlY.jpg
For my deployment type, I only selected Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  Looking at my test machine, those 3 applications now show up in my start screen.
    http://i.imgur.com/amZmxAT.jpg
I don't see any of the other Office applications be default on my start screen, so I would think all looks good.  If I type another Office application, lets say access at the start screen I get, "No apps match your search."
    http://i.imgur.com/fxbWEvb.jpg
But if I type Lync, Outlook, Infopath or Onenote, it shows me that those applications are available, and I can launch them as an App-V application just as I could Excel, Word or Powerpoint, the applications that I wanted to have available.
This is not what I was expecting when I went through the trouble to create an App-V package.  It looks like almost all of the apps become available on my client machine, all App-V is doing is making the application button in the start screen a little
    harder to find.
What is interesting is that for the applications I did want published, I can search for them by just entering a few letters of the application name, and they show up with the 2013 version label, see below for an example search for Word.
    http://i.imgur.com/0LeS05z.jpg
For the applications that I did not publish but still show up on my client, I have to type in the full name of the application for the launch button to come up.  For example, I can't type lyn and expect to see Lync, but if i type lync I will get an
option to launch the application.  The same goes for Outlook, Infopath and Onenote, and when you do type in the full namke of the app, it doesn't show the version number like Word does as Word 2013, it just shows Lync, or Outlook, or Infopath, or
    Onenote.

Can anyone from Microsoft confirm that this is expected behavior.  If this is to be expected this is pretty disappointing, because a main point of the App-V package is it is the only way to limit which applications are deployed via Office 365 ProPlus
but from what I can tell, it really isn't limiting anything beyond the start screen for most cases.

So it looks like the config xml files are the best option
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2013/12/02/announcing-app-v-5-0-sp2-support-for-office-2013-volume-licensing-editions.aspx
You can now use the Deployment Configuration file to configure the Office installation. One question I often get is, “How do I disable msaccess.exe or infopath.exe from an Office install if I am not using the MSI package?” This can be done by modifying the
Deployment Configuration file in App-V with entries like the following:
    <Application Id="[(AppVPackageRoot}]\office15\MSACCESS.EXE" Enabled="false">
      <VisualElements>
        <Name>Access 2013</Name>
        <Icon />
        <Description />
      </VisualElements>
    </Application>
That will prevent App-V from publishing msaccess.exe on the system and/or you can remove any undesired application shortcuts from publishing on the targeted computer using the shortcuts properties by deleting or commenting them out. Once you’ve configured your
Deployment and User Configuration files, you’ll have everything you need to import the packages into your App-V environment to start testing.

  • Outlook 2013 Not Responding and Offline Address Book Issues with Office 365

Around 3 months ago I setup a small business with Office 365 for email. They have 10 PCs, all running newly installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, eight with Office 2013 and two with Office 2010. All are connected to a local domain (Server Essentials
2012) with a single internet connection through a new TP-LINK router. Each user logs into their own PC only.
The network runs perfectly, internet connection is good but there seems to be RANDOM, INTERMITTENT issues with email not being SENT from Outlook every so often. Email will sit in the outbox for up to an hour sometimes before, eventually, being sent. Incoming
email seems ok, although this is more difficult to tell. At others times, email will be sent instantly - the size of the message and any attachments makes no difference.
The issue has happened at some point on every one of the PCs but no particular PC/user seems worse than any other. When email is stuck on one user's PC it can still be sent ok by other users at the same time - so the internet connection is not down. Users can
can always login to the OWA service ok and iPhones etc. all sync ok even when email is stuck in the Outbox.
To debug the issue I have worked on one particular user's PC and carried out the following changes -
    Changes that made no difference
I have checked the router. A SPI firewall is available on the router but this is switched off.
I have changed the MTU on the router with no effect.
There are no unsual add-ins to Outlook
Outgoing email virus scanning is disabled
Outlook is NOT integrated with Lync
The OST file is around 1.7 GBytes is size.
I have recreated the Outlook profile twice but this made no difference
Switched OFF "Cached Exchange Mode" - this made things worse !
The Outlook address book is set to \Offline Global Address List
I have disabled with Windows firewall on the client PC - no change
I have adjusted the KeepAliveTime for packets in the registry of the PC to 20 minutes
Changes that reduced the frequency of "Not Responding"
I have changed the Outlook automatic Send/Receive time from 30 to 10 minutes - this seemed to help
    Possible Related Problem
I have attempted to download the offline address book manually - this hangs at "Copying offline address book template file" in the Send/Receive dialog and there a NO OAB files in the data file location on the PC.
So the only measure that has so far "helped" has been the Outlook Send/Receive time change - now set to 10 minutes. Even so, Outlook will occasionally go "Not Responding" for 30 minutes or more (no windows active - only option
is to close and reopen Outlook).
There does seem to be a problem with the Offline Address book. I can download this ok for this user on my home PC (Outlook 2010) but this will not download manually on the work pc with Outlook 2013 (despite following all the debug steps above).
On work PC I can see literally hundreds of "Schannel" errors in the Windows System event logs -
    Error - Event 36888 Schannel
The following fatal error was generated :10
The internal error state is 10
These errors occur every 2-4 minutes continually all the time Outlook is running. When Outlook is closed the "Schannel" errors stop !
Can anyone suggest what else to try, please ?
I have already investigated this issue on the Office 365 Community Forum, and the Outlook forum and they suggested that it was a client (i.e Outlook) issue and that I should post here for further information.
    Thanks for reading !

    An update to this problem.
I brought one of the office PCs back to my home network and connected it up there. With no changes to the PC I was immediately able to download the Offline Address Book without errors.
This suggests to me that there must be some problem with the internet connection or router setup in the office environment.
The router is a TP-LINK W8970. The internet connection is PPPoA. I have seen some suggestion that an SPI firewall can cause issues. This router has an SPI firewall but this feature is disabled on the router.
While investigating this issue I have frequently been connected remotely to an office PC - sometimes for up to an hour or more. During these periods I have not experienced any connection dropouts so the actual internet connection seems to be ok (i.e. it is
    not dropping out).
However, something seems to be preventing the Outlook client from connecting properly with the Office 365 Exchange server in the office environment - or something is dropping the connection to Outlook. Does anyone know of any router settings that might affect
    this ?
I could try changing the office router but I do not have a spare available. Can anyone suggest a reasonably low cost, currenbtly available router that they know definitely works in the Office 365 environment so that I could buy this for test purposes ?

  • Outlook 2013 cached mode "mail to keep offline" - does this setting affect archive mailbox or Office 365 hosted archive mailbox?

I have an Exchange 2013 Hybrid environment with Exchange 2007 in coexistance mode as well as Office 365. We are hosting the majority of our Exchange accounts on-premise (migrating them from 2007), and most (soon to be ALL) Archive mailboxes in Office 365.
I have through Group policy set the policy "Select Cached Exchange Mode sync settings for new profiles" to 6 months. This works fine for the contents of the regular mailbox, but the setting is NOT being set at all for the Online Archive mailbox,
whether or not it is hosted on-premise or in Office 365. Is this the expected behavior?
Another question: Is it possible to have the regular mailbox in cached mode and the archive in Online mode or vice versa?

    Hi,
The key to your questions is: Archive mailboxes are online only, they cannot be cached for offline viewing, so you can keep your regular mailboxes offline(In Cached Exchange Mode) or Online, but cannot switch Archive mailboxes to Offline.
The whole idea of the archive mailbox is to keep your "online" mailbox with recent / important mails small and accessible on and offline. The archive mailbox is intended to store older / less important emails which are not neccessary to access immediately.
One important reason of archive mailbox is to prevent the growth of offline files.
