OfficeJet 6700 Printing on MacBook & iMac

Our OfficeJet 6700 has been printing great with a wireless connection on our Windows PC for a year. However, we just purchased a new MacBook and iMac and are having problems. The operating system on both is OSx10.9. When we first set up the printer on the new computers, they prompted us to install new drivers, which we did. They will print, but we have to turn the printer off and then back on for each separate print job. I have tried turning everything off and then back on incuding the wireless router, but it still does the same thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Belkin routers do not support Macs very well.
Try this: get into the router settings and disable the ICMP Protection (to enable Bonjour).

There is a Full Feature driver available for you to install on Yosemite, therefore it's fully compatible. Download the driver below. If there are any issues, please let me know what exactly the problems are.

Officejet 6700 print booklet

I am trying to print a Word document in booklet form. It prints fine on a Ricoh printer. But it won't print correctly on the HP OfficeJet 6700. When I go into the Properties of the 6700 I click on the "booklet" box. Also Print on both sides - Long edge. The 6700 User Guide has only some info about printing brochures but doesn't go any deeper than to say to click on Properties. Is there any documentation on how to print a booklet on a 6700? Thank you.

Officejet 6700 - printer works ok but scanner not recognised by computer

I have had my HP Officeject 6700 printer for 2 years and the printer works fine but now whenever I try to use the scanner it fails to work with a message 'we can't find a scanner attached to your PC' Have downloaded the HP doctor diagnostic but does not seem to do anything. Can anyone help?

I understand your printer is not detected over your wireless network from your computer. Although you mentioned you have done some troubleshooting, I would also suggest trying the steps from the guide I have found and posted for you below. The printer should be found if all steps are completed in order. Good luck!

Model Officejet 6700 printer claims that there is paper jam when in fact there is none.

Printer officejet 6700 claims that there is a paper jam. The fact is that there is none. i can not print and the only solution is to turn off the printer and restate. This is time consuming since I only printed a small document.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer stating that it has a paper jam even though none is present.
I do have a few steps that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Pri....
I suggest that you go through the document just in case something was over looked when checking the unit for paper.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
This could possibly be a hardware issue.

How do I get my HP Officejet 6700 printer back on line

Has been working well with no problems but since I connected it to another printer when when away from home it will not show as on line, and I have looked everywhere and cannot see how to correct.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are unable to use the scan to email feature of your Officejet 6700 printer because you are getting an unable to connect message.
There are several steps I would like you to try please.
Please turn off your printer.
Please turn off your router. If your router doesn’t have an on/off switch, please unplug the power cord from the router.
After waiting a full 60 seconds please turn on your router (or plug it back in).
After the router has completed its startup routine please turn on your printer.
After the printer has completed its startup routine, please test the scan to email feature. If it works there no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screen shots on how to do this. Don’t worry that the screen shots show a Officejet 8600 printer, the steps are the same.
Please test the scan to email feature. If it works there is no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.

How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
What version of Mac OS X are you using on your MacBook Pro? whatsmyos.com
What software are you using to scan (HP Scan, Image Capture, or Apple Scan, etc)?
Is the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet?
Are you able to make a color photocopy?

Since I have installed Yosemite in my imac 27 late 2013, I have a lot of problems to print in a hp officejet 6700 printer connected via wlan Time Capsule. I am able to see the printer, but when I try to print the system is not able to find the printer. I have all update, less the printer driver from hp, but they say that last driver should work with mavericks and yosemite.
The printer was working properly with mavericks and I did not make any change in the wlan.

HP Officejet 6700 - scanning problem, "device is busy. please try again later"

I am using a windows laptop (Lenovo Yoga II). I have an HP Officejet 6700 printer/ scanner. The printing functions seem to work fine but the scanning function is now not working at all (worked previously).
When I use the HP Scan and Capture app is comes up with a message "Device is busy. Please try again later". I have installed the full software and also run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it fails the driver check even after a full restart of both printer and laptop.
I have tried everything wirelessly and also connecting the laptop to the printer via USB and nothing seems to work.
When I try to scan direct from the printer/ scanner to the computer (ie. using the panel on the front of the printer) it recognises the computer but doesn't scan and suggests that the "scan application on the computer is currently in use".
I have McAfee LiveSafe running and also tried switching that off but didn't seem to make any difference.
Any ideas welcome. I really need to scan some things today and this is very frustrating.

HP OfficeJet 6700 throught Remote Desktop in Windows Server 2008

i access a windows server 2008 machine via remote desktop i want to print to my local hp officejet 6700 printer i have my printer resources shared i have downloaded the OJ6700_Basicx64_1315.exe which says its for win server 2008 yet when trying to install it says my OS is not supported. is there any other driver i can use? any way to use a generic driver?

Yes, you can try to download the 990c driver and it should work. (Shane_R) has a post that gives you directions on how to download the alternate drivers. Here is a link that may assist you.

Officejet 6700 on Windows 7 - HP Solution Center

HP Solution Center does not recognize my Officejet 6700 Printer. My first thought was to uninstall and reinstall HP Solution Center. How do I get a copy to reinstall. Or, if there is an easier solution, I'd like to know abou it. Thank you, Sandy

Hi Sandy,
The HP Solution Center is part of the software provided for older HP products, It is not part of the HP Software for the 6700 and cannot be used with the specific model.
You may access the software by clicking the Windows icon ( ), click HP , click All Programs , click the HP Officejet 6700 folder, then click the HP Officejet 6700 icon. The printer software opens.

OfficeJet 6700 - feeder not working with scan to e-mail

I'm having a problem with scanning to e-mail.
I put the document in the feeder and use the app to scan to e-mail, but nothing happens.
It just says "scanning failed, try again or exit"
I have also tried to put it on the glass, but again nothing.
I can scan from my computer - here the feeder works...

If you are using a Windows-based operating system have you Tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows? If yes, what were the results?
Are you able to make a copy from the front panel of your printer?
Is the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet?
Do you have any other error messages? If yes, what does the error message say and where is it displayed (printer or computer)?

HP Officejet 6700 Premium cannot connect to wifi network

Since a few days, our HP Officejet 6700 Premium can no longer connect to wifi network. All our other devices as laptops, smartphones, tablets have no difficulty in connecting to the wifi. reconnecting and entering the WPA password doesn't help.
The printer says the SSID of our wifi network is not unique, it detects multiple access points.
What can I do to solve this issue.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
I read about the issues you're facing when trying to connect your Officejet 6700 printer to your network recently. I have three suggestions for you, and please let me know the results when you are done.
Try power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer, and run the set up again.
If you are running a Windows OS, from your PC, perform a Clean Boot, which will turn off the start up programs just in case there is something blocking the installation. Try the USB to wireless set up again.
Check your router settings to match these recommended settings:
1. Network name and password to have no spaces or punctuation.
2. If using WPA2 security, switch to WPA personal.
3. Dual broadcast Wireless b/g/n (printer may only connect to g).
4. Mac filter needs to be turned off.
5. Firewall settings need to be at there default settings, or set to a lower security.
6. Multicasting "on".
7. Following ports need to be un-blocked:
Incoming (UDP) ports : 137, 138, 161, 427
Outgoing (TCP) ports : 137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500
