OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB variable cardOperStatus

Hello,
On CATOS switches we use the CISCO-STACK-MIB variable moduleStatus as follows, this works fine :
plato> snmpwalk -m CISCO-STACK-MIB -v 2c cat102 'mialaz&' moduleStatus
enterprises.cisco.workgroup.ciscoStackMIB.moduleGrp.moduleTable.moduleEntry.moduleStatus.1
= ok(2)
On an IOS(Cat4K) switch there is no CISCO-STACK-MIB support instead we use OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB with variable cardOperStatus , this does not work :
% snmpwalk -m OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB -v 2c cat211 'mialaz&' cardOperStatus
enterprises.cisco.temporary.chassis.cardTable.cardTableEntry.cardOperStatus
= No Such Instance currently exists
How can we read the module status on an IOS based switch?
Thanks.

Cat4K runnung IOS does not support OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB: ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/cat4000/cat4000-supportlist.html
Use ENTITY-MIB instead

  • MPLS mib variable (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.?????)

    Hi All ,
    I am running mpls on Cisco 12012/GRP router with IOS Version 12.0(21)ST3 .
    I want to know the mpls mib variable ( like 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.????) to do snmpwalk to the router .
    Cisco recommed to use 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.65 . but i am not getting any mpls orianted snmp data by using the above variable .
    Please let me know the mib variables.

    This is a long shot but make sure that you are using LDP and not TDP. 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.65 is a MPLS Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) MIB. You could also refer to the document 'MPLS LDP MIB' at the URL http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1839/products_feature_guide09186a00801149ff.html#75570.
    Refer to the section 'Supported Mibs and RFC's' in the document 'Cisco 12000 Series Internet Router Basics' for a list of supported Mibs. The document is available at the URL http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps167/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080110956.html#xtocid6

    The HP-LASERJET-COMMON-MIB defines several tray-specific objects which appear to define the media level in the specified tray; for example:

    STATUS optional
    DESCRIPTION
    "Returns a number that indicates how full the input tray

    device returns -1 for not empty and 0 for empty. If the
    device can determine how full the tray is, the device

  • Will the old Cisco VPN Client (version Windows - 5.0.07.0440) work on a 5510

    I plan to upgrade our Cisco ASA 5510 from 8.2 to 8.3.  However I have 20-30remote users running the older Cisco VPN Client that connect remotely to the ASA (version Windows - 5.0.07.0440 - not Anyconnect).
    My question is will the upgrade to 8.3 still allow the users to use the same Cisco VPN client or will I need to upgrade each workstation to the newer Cisco AnyConnect?
    I appreciate any help that can be provided.

    You can do that with no problem. Even the new 9.x ASA software is compatible with the old Cisco VPN client for IPSec remote access VPN.
    That client software might not work very well with newer client operating systems like Windows 8 but the ASA end will continue to allow them to connect.

  • Unable proxy ping using CISCO-PING-MIB in MPLS VPN ?

    using CISCO-PING-MIB in MPLS VPN ?
    In CISCO-PING-MIB.my document, wu can use the CISCO-PING-MIB to
    Proxy ping the hosts in the MPLS VPN (vrf).
    But when i do it, router will return the message:
    errstat =12; errindex = 1(ciscoPingProtocol).
    If Router isn't configed vrf, can proxy ping.
    If set the error vrf name in snmp packet,
    errstat=10; errindex=8(vrfname)
    Do Cisco Support Proxy ping with vrf???

    sorry, i don't use unix station, i program to send snmp messages.
    parameters:
    ciscoPingProtocol = 1(IP);
    ciscoPingAddress =x.x.x.x;
    ciscoPingPacketCount=
    ciscoPingPacketSize=
    ciscoPingPacketTimeout=
    ciscoPingDelay=
    ciscoPingEntryStatus=4;
    ciscoPingVrfName="vpn1";
    The parameters is right, because when i don't use ciscoPingVrfName, i can
    ping the address.
    But i set the ciscoPingVrfName="vpn1", the error is received.
    thanks.

  • ACE snmpwalk not return values for CISCO-SLB-MIB

    Hi everyone,
    I need some help with snmp for the ACE. I am unable to get any results when running an snmpwalk for the object slbVServerClientByteCounts.
    In fact, I get no results for anything related to CISCO-SLB-MIB. I can run an snmp translate against this mib and I am able to get the OIDs but when I run an snmpwalk against the ACE I get nothing for this mibs. I do however get results for the mibs: SNMPv2-SMI, IF-MIB, IP-MIB etc..etc..
    My main goal is to get the traffic going to the virtual server vip and then graph it. I need to use the CISCO-SLB-MIB to do this.
    Can someone please help? I will try and answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.
    Thank you.

    Ok I fully understand. I have verified that I have only one context (Admin).
    Would you be able to explain why I am able to see some oid data and nothing for others? Your results for oid slbVServerClientByteCounts is exactly what I am looking for.

    Are 300 Series switches compatible with pre-standard PoE detection in old Cisco phones? They don't seem to be (a 7902G won't power on when connected to an SF302-08MP with firmware version 1.1). Is any special configuration needed on the switch to enable this detection?

    Please note that the 200 and 300 Series switches now support Cisco Legacy POE as of September 2011, allowing it to deliver power to 7960, 7940, and other pre-standard phones and APs. Details provided at the following link:

    In the MIB CISCO-RTTMON-MIB, for the notification 'rttMonLpdDiscoveryNotification', the first 2 varbinds are 'rttMplsVpnMonCtrlTag' and 'rttMonLpdGrpStatsTargetPE'. What's the diff b/w the two as both are addresses ?
    Thanks in advance
    Sunil

    While both may be an address in your configuration, the two could be very different.  The value of rttMplsVpnMonCtrlTag can be any string:
           "A string which is used by a managing application to
           identify the RTT target.       This string will be configured as rttMonCtrlAdminTag for all
           the operations configured by this Auto SAA L3 MPLS VPN.       The usage of this value in Auto SAA L3 MPLS VPN is same as
           rttMonCtrlAdminTag in RTT operation."
    Where as the value of rttMonLpdGrpStatsTargetPE with also be an address.

  • Could Someone Help Me With An Old Cisco LocalDirector?

    Hello. I recently purchased an old Pix LocalDirector from eBay. As one would expect, it came with no documentation or configuration notes but for $20.00, it was hard to resist. The seller didn't know if it even worked. I thought I'd take a chance and to my suprise, the little old Pix fired right up and ran. Unfortunately, the last user failed to clear the enable password, so I can't get into it to reconfigure it for use in my little home network. I registered myself here on the Cisco web site in hopes I could download the unlock key file but the web site said I had to purchase a service agreement from Cisco before I coul;d get this file. Well, I know from myt professional IT past that I couild never afford one of those agreements for myself and considering this is a well-beyond end-of-life product, I doubt they would sell me one anyhow. So, can anyone tell me if there's a way to clear the password in the hardware? Is there peradventure someone at Cisco who might turn loose of of a key file to this old thing?  As I mentioned, it's a Pix LocalDirector running software version 4.2(4), according to the "show version" command. The serial number is: 18003122. Could someone out there help me with this? Thank-you. Mike.

    Well, I guess "Someone" ended-up being me. I located a source for the password recovery/resetting disk (using Micro$oft's search engine: Bing - much to my chagrin - Google, go hang your head in shame), and created one disk for the 520 and one for the LocalDirector. I then loaded them up, one at a time, reset, and Presto! The enable passwords were cleared and I am now able to reconfigure the interfaces and everything else. I'd pat myself on the back but it hurts and looks ridiculous. Bye for now, all!

  • Hide new/old value of bind variable in SQL*Plus

    Hi,
    I have a SQL*Plus script to create a new user. It asks for username & password and then passes these values to a SP to do some checks and finally create the user.
    The output is currently the following :
    New user will be created in ORCL LAB
    Enter the requested username : fleet2
    Enter the password for fleet2 : *****
    Re-enter the password for fleet2 : *****
    old 2: labadmin_cr_user('&username', '&pswd', '&pswd2');
    new 2: labadmin_cr_user('fleet2', 'fleet', 'fleet');
    The requested username is already in use in the database. Please choose another username.
    As you can see the passwords are now exposed when the procedure is called. This is not what I want off course. I cannot do termout off as the serveroutput is not shown as well in that case. I use dbms_output to show error messages to users. (see example above in case of an existing user).
    Can anybody tell me how to hide these 2 lines (old 2, new 2) without hiding my dbms_output.
