OLEDB Connection to SQLite 3.74 Crashes CR2008 w/ SP3

I'm trying to create a new report that connects to a SQLite 3.74 database using the OLE DB Provider from Cherry City Software (https://cherrycitysoftware.com/CCS/Providers/ProvSQLite.aspx) but everytime I try to connect to the database Crystal Reports Crashes. Doesn't appear to matter what database I choose, it just always crashes the whole program.
Is there a way I can connect via OLEDB to a SQLite database in Crystal 2008 SP3? I also tried using ODBC drivers but whenever I select the database it doesn't show me any tables but rather just "Add Command."
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
What they are saying is they don't follow the ANSII 92 standards for ODBC which likely means they don't follow the rules for OLE DB either.
We follow the rules so any driver should work. Otherwise we have to "hack" our drivers for each one and that becomes a nightmare to maintain. Every time they change their code we have to also.
I had a look at their site and it appears they do work with ADOPlus so when you create your report select the ADO.NET. Point it to the DAT file they use...
SQLite Provider Connection String
    Provider=OleSQLite.SQLiteSource; Data Source=DatabaseFileFullPath;
    Where
DatabaseFileFullPath is the database file full path. For example, C:\public\customer.dat
In the OLE DB connection wizard in CR designer you can also add Custom options for those providers needing them. That may help also.
Another option is to use a Command Object and simply paste int he SQL needed. CR passes the SQL in the command object directly to the client and we do not alter it in any way.
If that doesn't work then go to MS's site and download a tool called OLEDBTest and then try connecting and running a Query using Microsoft's OLE DB test tool. If that doesn't work then all I can suggest is you use some other DB. It looks like it's a PC database so use Access as a replacement.
Thank you
Don

  • Adobe Reader is Cacheing Data From OLEDB Connection

    I am trying to pre-populate a form from an oledb connection to an access database. I have an html page where a user can search an id. This id then gets written to a table where the sql query defined in the PDF form can grab it, join it with a table where the user info is stored, then display it.
    My problem is that Adobe Reader seems to be caching data from the first SQL select query that is executed. When I change the id I am loading, I still get data from the first SQL query in Reader. If I open the PDF via Acrobat, the data loads up properly, and it doesn't seem to be cached. I have looked at the following forum for suggestions: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc3549c, but their suggestions haven't worked.
    I have tried turning off caching anywhere I can find it (i.e. in LiveCycle, Adobe Reader), but nothing is working. Does anybody have any suggestions?

    It sounds like you need use the adobe schema in MII so the output of your transaction matches it.

  • Query text fileds with ADO/OLEDB connection (Set command over ADO is it pos

    Dear Oracle users,
    I try to query the TEXT field of dba_views but run into the problem that the return
    lengths is limited to 80 characters.
    On iSQLplus I can use the command e.g. "set long 1000".
    If I try to use this command over the ADO connection before I start my SQL query I get an error (assumingly because the set commandos cannot be used over ADO connections ?).
    Is there a way to be able to query text fields with more than 80 characters using ADO/OLEDB ?
    Hope someone can help.
    Best regards,

    Hi Jon,
    Well, I think I've got it working, but I'm not really happy with my work around.
    I tried upgrading to version 2 of .NET (I was using v1.1) But there was no change, I also modified the code so that it destroyed the connection to the ADO after each INSERT and before each get string, but it still failed in the middle of the same directory.
    I've just inserted a wait statment which delays every itteration by 200 ms and that actually seems to have fixed things... I say "Seems" because I've been running the program for 45 minutes now and I'm less than a third of the way through the directories! (previous execute time was 7 mins)
    This delay occured to me because the problems started when I changed the parsing sequence to improve the speed of the opperation.
    However, this is not exactly an ideal sollution... Do you think the problem is with the ActiveX "connection" or the actual database connection?
    Any help would be appreciated because the running speed is now immpractical and I'm not sure why this should have worked.
    Thanks - Pete

  • SSRS 2012 - Windows Server 2012 R2 issue with OLEDB Connection String

    Hoping someone can help. As stated above, we are running SQL Server 2012 with SP1 on Windows Server 2012 R2. When I create a Data Source as follows in Reporting Services, I receive the following error message. Any thoughts on why this fails? The same data

    Hi ABAA101,
    According to your description, when you use csv file as data source in SSRS 2012 report, you got the error message.
    I tested the issue in my local machine, due to some policy restrictions, I could not install Access in my local machine. To workaround the issue, we can use the connection string like below:
    Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\\report;
    Extended Properties="text;HDR=Yes;FMT=Delimited"
    The csv file is stored in report folder in C driver.
    In Query text box in the dataset, we can use the query like below:
    Select * from new.csv
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

  • IPhone 3.1.2 Internet connection issues and iPod application crashes

    Was having problems connecting to internet with 3.1 that could be fixed by switching to airoplane mode and back, but with 3.1.2 internet service drops out (even though the screen shows all bars and 3G) and the only way to get it back is to switch the phone off and on. DOing this 20 times a day. Annoying.
    Also, with iPod running, hitting the album icon in teh top right to get to the track listing for eht album causes the iPod application to crash.
    Does anyone else experience this?

    I also had problems with 3.1.1 which resulted in intermittently not getting access to the internet, not waking from sleep, etc. Now since 3.1.2 update iphone works better but at least once a day I am getting no connectivity to internet even though GPRS/Edge/3G is showing and the signal is strong
    The only way to resolve it is to reset network settings, also losing my wifi settings.
    Apple should have a blog to update on these kinds of software issues as it is hard to tell whether it is due to the hardware or not. I almost sent the phone back for repair last time only to find the 3.1.2 fix was aimed at exactly the problems I was experiencing. Although, as stated, still not completely fixed.
    Also my battery life is worse by about 20%

  • Mac Notes won't connect to iCloud; system preferences crash despite fixes tried

    I am on 10.8.5, have not updated to Mavericks yet. My Mac for notes doesn't want to connect to iCloud so that my notes will sync between all devices.
    I have tried all of the solutions that seemed to work for others, like deleting cache, rebooting, making sure all devices are set to iCloud, typing a new note. I think I remember telling iCloud not to sync notes many years ago but now I do want it to sync and it won't allow.

  • Connecting 6720 Classic via USB crash PC USB devic...

    When connecting 6720 Classic via USB cable to my Acer laptop all USB ports on laptop seize to work and Windows display a message that the USB device has malfunctioned. Eventually the PC is permanently stucked and only way to proceed is reset laptop on power button and prior to that remove the laptop charger to entirely power it off and let it reboot on battery. Harddisk controller is permanently indicating with a green light but harddisk is not spinning. When this happens the Nokia phone does not prompt for USB usage (connection type) and is also hanging in application execution for a while. I would like to be able to configure the phone not to charge via USB, but have not found a way to do that. I believe that the charging via USB is creating a low level hw driver and power surge problem in my laptop. Problem is not consistent but happens from time to time. When connecting the normal 230 VAC charger to Nokia device so the Nokia device is charging when connecting to laptop via USB the problem does not occur. In this situation the Nokia device will not try to charge from USB connection.
    Any possibility to disable the charging over USB on the Nokia 6720 Classic device??

    I had the same problem with my 6720 when I connected it to my HP laptop via USB to download maps. It crashed my computer making all USB ports unusable until I restarted the computer again. I think it happened after I downloaded the necessary software upgrade. I had to eventually use bluetooth to transfer maps data to my phone. It worked without any hitches. Can someone at Nokia fix this problem with the USB?

  • [Burrito] Connect to SQLite DB

    Hi All,
    Im having a hell of a time trying to create/connect to a local database (SQLite) on Android 2.2 HTC Evo.
    I began by creating the database on the fly at startup if one didnt exist. This works like a champ on a Windows machine, but wont create the database on the SDCard. Man, the lack of docs is killing me. Can someone give me some insight or a work around the this?
    Thanks,
    Stephan
    Example Part 1:
          import flash.data.SQLConnection;
        public var conn:SQLConnection = new SQLConnection();
        public var thisPath:String;
        private function checkDatabase():void
            var db:File = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath('TechConnect.db');
            thisPath = db.nativePath.toString();
            trace(db.nativePath.toString());
            if(!db.exists)
                conn.addEventListener(SQLEvent.OPEN,connOpenHandler);
                conn.addEventListener(SQLErrorEvent.ERROR,connErrorHandler);
                conn.openAsync(db);
        private function connOpenHandler(event:SQLEvent):void
            trace("the database was created successfully");
            if(conn.connected)
                var stmt:SQLStatement = new SQLStatement();
                stmt.sqlConnection = conn;
                var sql:String = "CREATE TABLE [tablename] (my fields here.....)";
                stmt.text = sql;
                stmt.execute();
        private function connErrorHandler(event:SQLErrorEvent):void
            trace("Error message:", event.error.message);
            trace("Details:", event.error.details);

    Since this query is more pertinent to the SDK, it is better posted here http://forums.adobe.com/community/flex/flex_general_discussion.

  • ITV no longer connects Home Share, and Netflix crashes mid movie. This worked on Christmas - day two flop

    I know... I searched the forum and this is a very hot topic. But I am not a techie and really don't want to reconfigure my iMac System energy preferences to tell the computer to 'never sleep' and to deselect the 'Put the hard disk(s) to sleep whenever possible.' - which was one support forum posters "fix".
    Why did this work Christmas day? I had already updated iTunes to 11.0.1 (12) before we opened and installed iTV. Upon initial setup of iTV we allowed the system to install an update. Everything was functional. We set it up up on our wifi, we created the passcode that iTV needed in settings. We used the AirPlay with iPad 3 and with an iPhone 4s; all very cool. I could access my iMac through iTV. No glitches. Everything worked as it should.
    Today we have had nothing but Netflix and that isn't working well. It crashed twice earlier in the day on a short documentary and tonight it happened again 30 minutes into a movie and we had to restart, fortunately it was near where it crashed so we only had to re-watch a few minutes of the movie.
    All day iTV has had the error message when you try and operate any Apple based function that 'Home Sharing needs to be turned on in iTunes...'  well, my iMac is always on (I know, some of you will cringe. I shut it down about once a month.) and we repeatedly checked iTunes throughout the day and Home Sharing is ON..... is this random performance what we have to look forward to?
    If it is some inefficiency in our wifi (another forum posters 'fix'), why was it not an issue on Christmas day? It can't work flawlessly one day and act like a demented PC the next. Come on APPLE. This is not what we expect of your products. iTV is not a new roll out. Bug fix? Software update? Ideas? Someone? Anyone?  Thanks...

  • Connection lost while updating firmare - Crashed

    Hi,
    I own Nokia N95 8GB. I had the latest released version V30.0.018. My phone was very slow. I tried re-installing it once since I thought its because of too much of application installed.
    While software update was in progress, after 80-90% completion, my screen became white and the computer said, cannot find the phone. Tried all possibilities, and atlast had to disconnect the cable to try again.
    Now my phone does not boot at all.
    I removed the battery and waited for 20 minutes and tried hard-reset (green+star+3+powerbutton). I am getting only the white screen.
    Will my phone be restored? I am worried.
    Thanks,
    Benjamin Mark
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    No worries!
    It worked at last. It just requires little patience. Re-run NSU and be still. True, it will take long time, since your screen is blacked out. But after a hour or two, it will start progressing.
    And, it worked for me and its fixed.
    Nokia should re-work on such things in the coming version.
    Regards,
    Benjamin Mark
