OM Account Assignment - Inheritance Principle

Hi
We are all ware that the Switch PPOM INHS when off, turns off the account assignemnt inhertitance from Org Unit to Position.
But... How can we turn off the Org Unit to Org Unit account assignment inheritance in ECC 6.0
To put it in simpler terms, I do not want the subordinate org unit to inherit the account assignment feature of the superior org unit. And can this be seen and/or done through PPOME?
Thanks in advance for your inputs
Shyam

Hi Shyam,
I have worked on the Issue that you have quoted. Please find below my observations:
Org Unit - Org Unit Relationship in PPOME:
CA01----
CA02
    |----CA11
    |----US01
Structure: Two Org Units (CA01 and CA02 at the same level has got the Same Account Assignment Feature say
    Co. Code: CAA1
    PA:          CA00
    PSA:        CACA
Fundamentally, Rule of Inheritance states Unless and until you EXPLICITLY change the values in the Subordinate Object, it will inherit the values from the Root Object or Parent object.
Therefore, CA11 and US01 Should inherit the Values maintained in CA01. However, since you have explicitly changed the Values for US01 to
    Co Code: US00
    PA:         US01
    PSA:       USUS,
the inheritance will NOT take place. For CA11, the inheritance follows.
Your Switch for PPOM INHS is set to active.
Coming to your Scenario 1:
When I move CA11 as a Subordinate unit of US01 the account assignment features of US01 are inherited by CA11 (This should not happen);
It will happen because, in the first place, you have Just caused an Inheritance to happen from CA01 to CA11 which is default and therefore not Explicit. Therefore, when you further move this org Unit CA11 to US01; it will follow the same process and inherit the values of US01.
Scenario 2:
Whereas when I move CA02 as a subordinate unit of US01 the account assignment feaures of US01 are NOT inherited by CA02 (This is correct).
This is because you created the Org Unit with Account Assignment Features and Saved it (making it as explicit unit) and even if you move this unit under US01 or any other Org Unit it will NOT inherit values of the then PARENT unit. Moreover, if you relate any further org unit/position to CA02 (after you have related CA02 to US01); all the subordinate units/position will inherit the account assignment feature of CA02; which is quite valid.
To my knowledge, to solve this, you will have to mandatorily click the Replace buttons available and set it to the requisites.
Considering that you are using PPOME, it would be a case of few of the org units.. and therefore it wouldnt be a difficult task to do.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Kumarpal Jain.

  • Account assignment for clearing lines

    Hello,
My client business need the derivation tool to overwrite the commitment item for the clearing account lines (operation WRX) instead of being inherited from the predecessor PO.
Therefore, as specified in sap note 923672, I activated the predelivered parameter FLG_FMDERIVE_FORCE in table FM01X. Unfortunately the results were not as I expected. Although it shows in the derivation trace that the commitment item is overwritten for the clearing account, this does not match with the FI doc.
Have anyone ever used this feature? Do anyone know why this is happening?
    Best regards,

    Hello Bernardo,
Same problem has been reported in the OSS, (probably by you?).
Depending on the release and support package customers are working on, these notes should solve the problem, some of them are also for overwriting PO account assignment in Service Entry Sheets:

  • Org Mangt: Inheritance of Account Assignment

    Hi All,
The issue I am facing is, when I create a position under an organization through transaction PPOME, it is not inheriting the account details (company code, pers. area, pers. subarea) from org unit. What is surprising in this is when I create a back dated entry, inheritance works just fine. Anyone faced a similar issue?
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi,
do you have in your system note 1591799 installed?. This note have created a side effect that is corrected with note::

Take a look at the following note, which have good explanation about the process:

  • How to make default account assignment category in planned order?

    Scneario Description:
    1. Sales order for a configurable parent item is created in ERP & order BOM is changed & transferred to APO. In APO MRP run takes place for that parent item, which creates a planned order with account assignment category "M" (M:Individual Customer w/o KD-CO.
    2. Now based on the dependant requirement generated for parent item, MRP takes place for one of the child item in ERP & purchase requisition gets created for child item.
    Question:
    1. Can anybody help me how i can make default account assignment as "F" (F:Order) in the planned order of parent item?
    2. PR created for child item also has default account assignment category as "M". we wish to change that to "F".
    Thanks & best regards
    Hemchandra & Sandeep Mandhana

    Hi V. Suresh,
The account assignment category maintained in the requirement class for parent item is 'M'.
No account assignment category maintained has been maintained in the requirement class Semi-finished component (this component is sent for subcontracting).
The business process is as follows:
    1. Create Sales Order for Parent say ME_PARENT.
    2. Order BOM for ME_PARENT is created and subsequently cifed to APO.
    3. PP/DS heuristic is run for ME_PARENT.
    4. MRP for component ME_COMP is run in ERP.
It can be seen that purchase requistion for ME_COMP has a/c assgn category as 'M'. It seems that the ME_COMP has inherited 'M' from ME_PARENT.
We would like to have no a/c assgn category for ME_COMP.
    Any pointers?

  • Enter a true account assignment object with revenues while reversing FB08

    Hi All
When I am reversing the document through FB08 I am getting the warning messege "Enter a true account assignment object with revenues"
    Message no. KI166
    Diagnosis
You made an account assignment for 31211100, a revenue element, in controlling area 1000 to a cost center or profit center.
    System Response
Cost centers and profit centers can carry revenues in the SAP system as statistics only. To ensure reconciliation between FI and CO for revenue element 31211100, a CO account assignment object must record the revenues as a real value. This object type is used for updating to the reconciliation ledger.
In principle, it is possible for the SAP system to automatically derive this CO account assignment object, the reconciliation object. However, all postings made in CO for costing-based Profitability Analysis are logged in the reconciliation ledger under "reconciliation object". In this manner, the reconciliation ledger identifies the exact values flowing into the operating profit. If you post reconciliation objects during revenue postings to cost centers or profit centers, you must do so while keeping the interpretation of the reconciliation ledger reports in mind. The sums of revenue postings to profitability segments, cost centers, and profit centers cannot be broken down further.
    Procedure
To avoid posting to reconciliation objects, make account assignments to a real CO account assignment object.
If you want to post to reconciliation objects, you can change this message to a warning or a note for future users, or deactivate the message entirely. Use the Implementation Guide under "Controlling: General" and choose Change message control. Enter area KI and message number 166. If you do not enter an individual user here, the change is valid for all users.

  • No account assignment exists.

Hi! I have a problem when I create the shopping cart, I put the material in the shopping cart and the system throw two error messages:
1)No account assignment exists. Enter an account assignment.
    2) Tax code could not be determined
I use the transactions: Determine system for tax calculation, enter tax code, determine tax code for country/product category and assign enterprise buyer tax code to FI system.
And for account assignment: define account assignments categories, define G/L account for product category and account assignment category.
    I have to do anymore??
    Thanks
    Rose

    Hi Rose,
to have an automatic cost assignement, you must define:
    - a default accounting category (attribute KNT)
    - a default cost object (ex: default cost center if KNT = CC)
And this for all users (can be inherited).
Ask an MM/FI functional consultant about the cost assignement to be used on your project.

  • Account assignment  and G/L account

    Hi
Im a SAP-BW Consultant. I need some information in MM.
    1) what is account assignment ..why it is required ...and how it is link to FI.I need some information regading account assignment .
    2) what is G/L account...why it is required and how can it link to FI.
    Pls help me
    kumar

    Dear Kumar,
According to the document principle. a document must be generated and stored in the system for every transaction/event that causes a change in stock.
When posting a goods movement in the SAP System, the following documents are created:
    <b>Material document</b>
In the Inventory Management system, when a goods movement is posted, a material document is generated that serves as proof of the movement and as a source of information for any applications that follow.
A material document consists of a header and at least one item. The header contains general data about the movement (for example, its date). Each item describes one movement.
    <b>Accounting document</b>
If the movement is relevant for Financial Accounting (that is, if it leads to an update of the G/L accounts), an accounting document is created parallel to the material document.
In some cases, several accounting documents are created for a single material document. This might be the case, for example, if you have two material document items with different plants that belong to different company codes.
The G/L accounts involved in a goods movement are updated through an automatic account assignment.
For goods receipts for purchase orders, goods movements for stock transport orders and consignment withdrawals, business partners may have different local currencies. Therefore, as well as the local currency, the accounting document must also contain another currency for processing and postings. For this purpose, accounting documents created as a result of these goods movements will automatically be managed in the local currency and in the document currency. You can switch between both currencies by choosing Settings -> Currency display.

    <b>General Ledger Accounting:</b>
The central task of G/L accounting is to provide a comprehensive picture for external accounting and accounts. Recording all business transactions (primary postings as well as settlements from internal accounting) in a software system that is fully integrated with all the other operational areas of a company ensures that the accounting data is always complete and accurate.
The SAP FI General Ledger has the following features:
Free choice of level: corporate group or company
Automatic and simultaneous posting of all sub-ledger items in the appropriate general ledger accounts (reconciliation accounts)
Simultaneous updating of general ledger and cost accounting areas
Real-time evaluation of and reporting on current accounting data, in the form of account displays, financial statements with different financial statement versions and additional analyses.
Essentially, the general ledger serves as a complete record of all business transactions. It is the centralized, up-to-date reference for the rendering of accounts. Actual individual transactions can be checked at any time in realtime processing by displaying the original documents, line items, and transaction figures at various levels such as:
    Account information
    Journals
    Totals/transaction figures
    Balance sheet/profit and loss evaluations
Account postings form an integrated part of SAP accounting. All transactions entered in the sub ledger accounts end up as general ledger postings in SAP. Thus, a posting to sub ledger account say account receivable, account payable will have an effect on the general ledger. As a rule, any accounting transaction, which affects the general ledger invariably results in a GL account posting.
But how does SAP recognize the correct GL account to be posted based on the sub ledger transaction entry. SAP recognized every transaction or entry in the sub ledger as a line item. Having said that, each line item has a unique account number, amount, and posting key. SAP FIGL uses this information in identifying the account to be posted. Similar to account postings, documents created in other modules such as production planning, sales & distribution, materials management, controlling, also get posted if they affect the general ledger i.e. SAP GL. A user in SAP does not even have to manually post a document / line item. SAP can be configured for automatic posting though an option is available for manual posting as well.

I dont understand when I am giving PC as CO Object assignment which is I think true assignment for revenue collecting over. Still system showing this warning message. I know this can be supressed by just pressing ENTER and I can save. By posting  in this way document even , I am not able to draw any report based on PC, neither KE5Z or F.01. All says No data found.
What configuration piece I am missing ? Can any expert guide ?
    Regards,
    Revati Joshi.

Just go to OKB9 and check the Cost Element, whether any default cost center or Profitability segment have been been assigned or
    not.
If not, check if the Cost element is Revenue related, assign Profitability analisys. If not, check with settings of PCA.
You shoukd never assign PC to a cost element ntil unless it is a Revenue element.

  • Material PR transfer from ECC to SRM without Account Assignment

    Hello,
When a material PR without account assignment is transferred to SRM. The scenario is determined as direct procurement and system will behave in extended classic scenario.
I would need the PO to be posted in backend ie Classic scenario.
We are in SRM 7.0 using SOA PR transfer from ECC EHP 4 system.
I believe there is  consulting note available for this scenario. If any body has the note number please share it.
    Thanks,
    Rohith

    Symptom
While running Materials Replenishment Planning (MRP) purchase requisitions (PR) will be created in SAP ERP (e.g. after creating a Planned Order in MD10).
Before SAP SRM 7.0 these requisition got the field EPROFILE assigned which enabled the system to extract the PR document to SAP SRM by using report BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER. As of SAP SRM 7.0 and SAP ERP 6.04 you configured Business Add-In ME_REQ_SOURCING_CUST to trigger SOA message PurchaseRequestERPSourcingRequest_Out.
After running MRP you notice that no sourcing request SOA message got generated.

    SOA, MRP, Sourcing, external sourcing,
    BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER, EPROFILE
    MD10, MD14, MD04
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Program error.
    Solution
Due to complexity it is not possible to provide a SAP core correction. However PP-MRP application provides a BAdI interface that gives the possiblity to trigger this functionality of external sourcing.
If you need to use the external sourcing with SAP MRP create a new implementation for BAdI MD_PURREQ_POST and inherite from the class provided in attached correction instruction.

    Chiachen

    Hi Chiachen,
The problem occurred because the functional area is not inherited from the Purchase order during MIRO posting. As a result, error message F6841 is issued.
There are 2 main programs for the FM derivation:
    1. Function Module FM_DERIVE_ACCOUNT_FROM_COBL
    2. Program LFMCOBLF06
The latest notes which affects these 2 programs are 1244381 and 1247982.
Kindly implement these notes using SNOTE.
During this process, it should also bring in all the other pre-requisite notes. Do not worry if the
symptoms described in the notes do not match yours. What's more important is to bring the coding in your system up to date. Please retest MIRO after the notes are applied. Let me know the results.
Check also the notes 17941 and 982511.
    I hope it helps

  • ML81N Make FM fields display only in account assignment

Requirement is to make FM fields already derived from PO (derivation working correctly) display only or add an error message. Easy I thought just go to config for SES and click on Additional Fields display only (Cost Center?, WBS element? there was no funds management fields available)...then after some time investigating
Have debugged the transaction and found some possibilities.
    (1) BADI TR_GET_ACCNT_ASSIGN called in function FM_ACCOUNT_GET_COBL from MS_ACCOUNT_ASSIGNMENT.
    (2) User Exit EXIT_SAPLFMCH_001 called in function FM_CHANGE_AA_SUBST
    (3) Use FMDERIVE to somehow check the PO derivation
Just wondered if anyone had taken this further before I spend a lot more time understanding the whole process in order to achieve a small bit. Please I am a technical resource not FM specialist.
If I could understand the process flow, at least it might help me make quickest simplest solution.
    thanks,

    Hi,
You can customize the field status in tx OME9 for the relevant account assignment category.
But be aware that this customizing will be valid for all purchasing documents and transactions - not only for ML81N and the services area.
During SES postings, inheriting the FM account assignment from the reference PO is the standard and expected behaviour, so you may see that FMDERIVE is not called when the PO reduction is to be posted during ML81N. Instead, the FMAA is read from table FMIOI and fmderive is skipped in those lines (fi transaction keys KBS/WRX, for instance).
I hope this will help you
    Kind regards

    Hi,
This is FI Principle whenever you use any account which has been created by FI as Profit and Loss Account  you have to maintain the Cost and Revenue elements for that GL. since you are doing IR there must be some difference + or - with reference to PO in Price which should post to gain or loss from price diffrence A/C
therefore please ask you FI guy to assign Cost or revenue elements to this GL
you will face this issue with all the line items of PO where is any diffrence on PO vs IR.
Hope your issue will be resolved

  • Open and Close Posting Periods According to G/L Account Assignment Objects

    Hi,
Can anybody please explain me how configurations related to " Open and Close Posting Periods According to G/L Account Assignment Objects " works in SAP FICO? I am confused about this config.
    Regards,
    Mandeep

    Hi Mandeep ,
First i would like to tell about fiscal year
fiscal year is nothing but a financial year of company in sap . it contain 12 normal periods and 4 special periods. In genaral we will call like month but that is sap that is a period. so 12 period for 12 months ok next special period will use in all companies for audit and tax adjustment purpose of previous year.
coming to the open and close periods.in sap for security purpose we have to open one period like this month july so i opened july period only we cant post the pervious month (june)and we cant post future month lik in (Auguest)ok
You can close and open periods by transaction ob52.
In transaction ob52 there are account types
+ Valid for all account types
    A Assets
    D Customers
    K Vendors
    M Materials
    S G/L accounts
    V Contract accounts
+ means all types. if you want to open vendor then enter period from and to according to your fiscal year.
you cant adjust items in closed period. if you want to then you have to open the period
    For your information.....
posting periods also open user level tc S_ALR_87003642.
    customization levael OB52.
