On my iphone 3G, I used to get email notifications without checking manually, on my iphone 4 not so much.I went to the Genius bar and they had me send a test message while I was there and i got a notification right away, but prob still exist w/ mobile me.
I just want to know why I have to open my mail app to get my emails. On my 3GS I used to get notified without opening the mail app and now on my 4 i don't get the same functionality. I have a mobile me account, and I have my settings set to receive push notifications every 15 minutes....what gives?
If you are getting Siri when you double tap, then your home button must be sticking. Siri comes up when you hold the home button. Try tapping quickly twice. When that happens, the multi-tasking list comes up and you will see the app icon and then a thumbnail, or reduced size view of the app above it. You put your finger on that thumbnail and swipe upwards with your finger.
For that issue, you might want to do a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will not affect your data.
To be honest, your novel is a little difficult to read, and I think you put too much information in there, and a lot of it is unnecessary. Be to the point and just add information necessary to understand the issue.

My early 2011 MBP 13" does not recognize my Sandisk 16GB 45MB/s Extreme Pro SDHC card. I went to the Genius Bar and we tried it in all the MacBook Pro's in the Apple Store and NONE could recognize the card. However, iMacs did. Any suggestions? Genius behind the Bar suggested wait for LION OS X release...

My late 2011 Macbook Pro is not working properly it is very slow and extremely painful to use, I went to a Genius Bar appointment, they were not helpful at all and just told me to go off and reboot my Mac and then restore via TimeMachine. I dont know how to do this. I am extremely displeased with Apple at the moment, can someone please help me?
Your problem description is generalized and non-specific. I would make another appointment at the Apple store and insist they help you execute their suggested fixes.
Incidentally, if you search this site, Apple has excellent articles re: restoring a system.

Is there a Mac guru who makes house calls in Concord, California.? I'm getting finger pointing between the Genius Bar and Adobe Support. It;s been a week and I'm at my wit's end.
I upgraded from OS X 10.4.1 to Snow Leopard 10.6.8. After lots of application problems I took the computer to the Genius Bar. The computer upgrade was given the "thumbs up". They said the problems are with licensing issues with Adobe Creative Suite 4. The other application problems could be resolved by just uninstalling Microsoft Office and reinstalling it. The Microsoft Office reinstall seems to have gone well, however it is still slow to open and the color wheel spun extra-long on this morning's first opening.
We are operating two accounts on our one Mac Pro computer. Since the upgrade, we can not both have an Adobe application open at the same time. They work fine when only opened on one desktop, but we get an "ATM Subsystem Failure" notice when the program attempts to open on the other desktop. I've spent many hours on the phone with Adobe, they helped me remotely to reinstall CS4, but the problem remains. Finally, last night, the tech guy said that it has to be an Operating System failure and to take the computer back to Apple.
Frustration prompted my writing. I have a call in to someone local who may be able to help, who knows! -
I can not sync my iPhone after restoring it - my computer only gives me the restore (again and again and again) option. I have no music and only a few aps now on my iPhone. Any tips before I go to the genius bar?
If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

The online Apple store may offer to pre-load a version of CS6 for you, for the cost of the software package plus a few days set-up delay in shipping your Mac to you.
The bricks and mortar stores do not sell software. It gets stale too fast. -

I am having problems downloading 2 purchased movies. Cars 2 & Toy Story. I had it on My iPad, then after a while the movies would not play. I went to the apple store and they deleted it and told me that all I need to do is download it again. I tried what they suggested at the apple store, but I am still not successful. It continues to tell me there is a download error. Please help! Need these movies for my 3 year old!User to user forum.

I went to the genius bar the other day and was told that force quitting apps was the single worst thing I can do to my phone or iPad, short of dropping and damaging it, or jailbreaking it.That it is bad for the software, firmware and battery. The employee was very excited about the topic and cringed when I force quit in front of him. He gave me the url to read about multi-tasking so that i could read more. But neither that page nor the force quitting apps page says anything about this activity being bad. Is it so bad? If so, why don't we know that? So many people I know force quit in an effort to have fewer pages appear.
Thank you for the feedback. I can breathe a sigh of relief that I can once again clear these pages from my sight. This employee said he tells about a half dozen people a day when they come in with various problems, as he is attributing their problems to force quitting. It's like he was out to save the world, one iphone user at a time. I'm talking *serious* passion from this man!
