Once in awhile my screen will freeze while I'm watching a video. Lately it's happening more often, I'm watching a video and it'll freeze BUT I can still hear the dialogue. Only solution I've found so far is to do a hard shut down. HELP!!

Hi there, im also having this problem, i tried running most of the games on my system, and some that are considered "high end" games, are giving me the exact same problem, but other games are running and im able to message fine, i also got some friends to send me messages, and i can recieve messages perfectly, also i noticed moving the actual window around on the screen or just closing down skype also lags. I have 16GB of ram and 4.4Ghz Octa-Core CPU, i checked my load while on the high end games and it there was more than enough hardware usage left like normal for skype to run, and skype wasnt taking any extra up than before. I also checked by bandwidth and i was having no problems with that as skype would lag even on offline games.
I have tried re-installing under a different directory and still the same problem persists, this has only been a problem within the last 24hrs and i haven't installed any other programs that could affect this at the moment.
*UPDATE* I tried downgrading to an older version of skype, 6.3.0.107. Problem Still persists

Yes, just made sure of that. I do have the latest version of Flash player. But I have just staggered upon the answer. Chalk it up to being a newbi. I was not putting my apple tv to sleep and it would not allow me to see
you tube on my computer while it was still operating on my TV. When I realized that, I put the apple tv to sleep and bingo, my computer runs you tube fine. Thanks again for your response.

Program monitor freezes and goes black but I can still hear the audio

Hi just recently I've noticed after a few playbacks the program monitor goes black, the sequence plays out with audio, I just can't see the image. Timeline is mixed with prores, mts But haven't had this issue occur since updating.

Are you using CUDA for playback? Try changing the Mercury Playback Engine options and see if it helps.

When you say restarting, what exactly did you do? Restart is to power the device off by pressing the sleep/wake button and then slide the power off bar.
A reset, which is what I would recommend first, is to hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot and the screen should come on. You may have to hold 15-20 seconds or more for this to work.

Most glitches can be solved this way.
Press and hold both the Power switch and center button for at least 15 seconds. This will restart the device.

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.

If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

Just guessing here, but dropping your phone is probably the reason your screen or backlight doesn't work.
Only solution I see is to take it to Apple and buy and out of warranty iphone 4.

Are you saying that your iPad's screen is black even though you can hear Siri when you activate her? Then ...
first try a reset:
Hold both the Home button and the Power button down for 10+ seconds until the Apple logo appears. Let go promptly when it appears, wait 30+ seconds for your iPad to restart. No information or settings will be lost.
Now try giving your iPad a friendly thump on the back.
Place the iPad face down on a bed or your knee and try gently hit it right on the Apple logo on the back of your iPad. If that doesn't work try thumping it in various places on the back including the corners, and with increasing intensity.

Hi, I have this exact same problem. I haven't been using an iRig, just a cheap USB-jack cable. I managed to do this with the first cable I bought, but since it broke I've been unable to find a replacement that allows me to hear the drums while recording. DId you manage to get over this issue? Try restoring the iPod. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
