One-page website and horizontal scrolling

Can someone please tell me how I can have the horizontal
scrolling of the images while the title and the menu above are
fixed and static? I'm trying to design a very simple photo website
with minimal HTML pages. Two examples are below. Thanks

You can learn a lot about a web site and how it was created
by simply
viewing the page source and CSS. Another really great tool to
have is
Firefox's Web Developer Toolbar. Can't live without it.
In answer to your question. Frames are one way to do this
(but not
optimal). A scrolling division is another way to do this. But
I have to
tell you that having lots of scrollbars on a page is annoying
as hell and
not very user friendly. People who can't use a mouse for
whatever reasons
won't enjoy your site much either.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

I'm creating a one page website with Adobe Muse. My problem is, how to make the menu buttons (which are pinned at the top and are always on the same point when scrolling down) change their status (Normal, active, etc.) when the adequate page is reached by scrolling)

To achieve this you can create manual menu. You have the option for creating manual menu in Muse. Check this :
Later when you have created the menus, you can create anchors for different sections of the site where you want to direct the users when they click on one menu item and then link the menu item to those anchors.

One page website trouble.

I created a simple one page website for a friend of mine and it looks and works how it should in the preview but when I uploaded it to her website all of it got messed up. The All of the backgrounds that were supposed to be 100% aren't, the tabbed panel is overlapping? in a way, and the slideshow doesn't work. Is there something I did wrong? Or is anyone else having similar problems?

If I made a 'one page website' can I refer directly to a sub page

I am currently designing a new website and are considering a
Spry style 'one page website' vs. a more 'traditional model' with
individual pages that includes content for header, menu etc. via
server side includes so they can be executed in there own right.
I love the snappy smooth user experience that I would be able
to create but I am wondering how I could send someone a link to a
particular sub section (ie. currently I would sent

and it would work nicely. In the 'one page website' the sub pages
only get fully formatted if loaded into the panel.
What I would like to do is to create a similar direct
reference capability. Have anyone done something similar. I was
thinking of perhaps having a parameter on the url:
http://www.domain.com/index.html?about_us.
This should then set the content of the panel on load.
If anyone has done something like this, I would greatly
appreciate it if they could share technical details. This seems to
be the last large barrier for me before going to this approach.

there are someway to do this
1.you could use old JS trick to hide & show element based
on element id (in your case maybe hiding a big div that hold 1
page), example :

2. second way was to call Spry LoadUrl() function and give
the callback, you don't need actually request anything using this,
you can use this to load
All the elements(DOM) on the page you request and set the
callback for it
refer to spry manual/example
3. third way was using spry tab panel widget, you can
re-style the CSS so it seem seamlessly integrate into your page :D
4. last but not least, using traditional iframe should help,
but notice this could be problematic if you use Session/Cookie for
your page

Add bookmark button and horizontal scroll bar - bugs on Snow Leopard

Safari after update to 5.1.4, has a bug in interface on Snow Leopard (10.6.8): 'add bookmark' button (combined with addres bar), and horizontal scroll bar didn't look good. I think, that shouldn't happend on flagship Apple browser, on just a little older OS X than 'Lion'.
Clearing (deleting files) 'Cache.db' and .plist files didn't help.

Ok.. maybe corrupted Safari preferences (.plist )
Quit Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.
If that didn't help, go to Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If it's not a plugin, try troubleshooting Safari third party unsupported add ons > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

If you want the orange Firefox button to show, instead of the Menu Bar showing, you need to hide the Menu Bar by right-clicking a blank spot on the Menu Bar and de-selecting the Menu Bar by clicking on Menu Bar in that contextual menu.

I'm a retired master electrician and I checked the power output and the power cord to the machine and everything is OK. I looked for a fuse location, but was not able to find any. I have had the same problem with my MX860... I am very sad... I just bought new set of Ink for it & I went to open the top and noticed that the print head would not move into position... then I closed the lid and noticed that ONLY THE YELLOW :ALARM: light was on... It will not turn ON and the Yellow light only goes out when I unplug the unit. I tried the UNPLUG to reset and nothing happened when I plugged it back in and pushed the Power button on. I have it on a HUGE SURGE PROTECTOR And we have not had a storm in Weeks! My Laptop & Phone is plugged into the same surge/power back up.. besides, I know it's getting power or the Yellow ALARM LIGHT would not be on... Anyone have any IDEAS? The HELP staff is off for the WEEK END now..

Sidecar.xml and horizontal scrolling

Just followed the documetation and just uploaded a folio with a sidecar.xml file with
set to never and set to true. This should have set the articles to Horizontal swipe only but it never. I had to go into the folio producer tools and set it there. Am Idoing something wrong?

the syntax for using the "horizontal scrolling only" feature in a sidecar
file is
it can be "true" and "false".
You mixed up with the values for smoothscrolling articles, wich can be
"portrait", "landscape", "always", never.

TableView and horizontal scroll bar

I need to show horizontal scroll bar in my TableView - there are many columns in my view. I tried to put it into the ScrollPane but it takes no any effect.. Is there any ability to make scrollable treeview via FXML layout file?

OK. If I understand you correctly, you want the table view to fill the scroll pane width when the total column width is less than the scroll pane width, but show a scroll bar when the total column width is greater than the scroll pane width. Is that right? If so, I don't believe that is currently supported. I think there is a feature request for it, but JIRA is down right now so I can't tell for sure.
Feel free to submit a feature request for this if you like, and we'll mark it as a duplicate if necessary.

Horizontally scrolling page views and vertically scrolling table views

This may be a feature request, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm trying to do too much in an iPhone app, but I want to have an outer view scroll horizontally with pages - easy to do with the UIPageControl and UIScrollView.
Within each page, however, I have a view (or nested views). In one of those views, I want to be able to scroll vertically (it's a table view) - but I can't! The message never gets down to the tableview because it's eaten on top - or at least it seems like it. It looks like I can do it in the simulator, but not on the phone.
Is this doable?

Published website and the scroll bar is missing in Firefox

I have published a website through iWeb and mobile.me. Everything looks pretty good in Safari, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. The problem I am having and cannot resolve is that the side scroll bar that allows you to scroll to the bottom of the page in Firefox is missing!
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you fix it?

A split screen feature would hold part of the web page static and allow scrolling through the rest, can it be done?

I would like to be able to hold one part of a web page static while scrolling further down, most usually when following an onscreen tutorial on fixing something with 8.1, (pretty much an everyday occurrence).
This feature would be similar to that in Office programs like excel.
Is this feasible or must I open the same web page in different windows?

If you are using CS4, there is a Command to create a Web Album... this does it automatically for you.
Otherwise, you can create this manually. Say you have 3 pages,
page1.html (is the index page of the album)
page2.html
page3.html
Therefore, using ordinary text links
Home would link to page1.html
Previous would link to page3.html
Next would link to page2.html
You would need to make adjustments naturally to each page as you move along with the gallery pages, changing the previous and the next links as needed. Below is a a basic example of setting up the links in a simple table structure. You would also then style the table layout as you see fit - yes, using css preferably :-)

Here's an article on creating an album using the DW Command I mentioned earlier. You could create the album and then copy and paste the code into a current page if you've already designed on.,... not too difficult, I just tested it. You do however, need to have Fireworks to process the images.
