OneNote 365 host of issues

I have a user experiencing several issues on a Win7 machine using Office 365 (local application).
Background:  She's created about 25 GB worth of OneNote folders and has been storing them on a company Sharepoint so others can edit them.  Every individual project is created as a separate Notebook.  They mostly just consist of project notes
and any emails associated with the project are exported into the Notebook.
Problem: A few weeks ago, she started having issues with OneNote saying that the cache needs to be deleted in order for OneNote to start.  Clearing the cache helped for a little while, but then after opening Notebooks again, more issues started coming
up.  When she goes to search using the search bar on the top right, if the result she clicks on is in another Notebook, nothing will happen.  If she minimizes the window, then brings it back up, then OneNote will finally switch Notebooks.  OneNote
has also been freezing (not responding) a lot recently.  About 2-4 times a day.  When she exits OneNote and tries to bring it back up, about 20% of her Notebooks are saying that they cannot sync changes and giving her the yellow triangle.
What I've tried:  I tried clearing the cache which helped a little.  I assumed OneNote was freezing and having issues because she had 200+ Notebooks open at a time and it was just too much.  Within minutes she started having issues though.
I tried adjusting the backup schedule and reduced the number of backups to keep to 1 copy.  I then tried to delete the OneNote settings and optimize all the files.  Finally, I tried to use the built in Office repair tool which seemed to help
for about 3-4 hours before the same issues started coming up.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Please check if the user has exceeded the storage quota that’s been allocated to her.
Since the user is running into specific errors while using OneNote with notebooks shared on a SharePoint sites, we can also try the following thing:
Turn off Required Check-in/Check Out in the SharePoint Document Library
Do the following:
Navigate to the document library in SharePoint.
On the Library Tools ribbon, select Library >
Library Settings > Versioning Settings.
Set the Require Check Out option to No.
Turn off Minor Versions in the SharePoint Document Library
Do the following:
Navigate to the document library in SharePoint.
On the Library Tools ribbon, select Library >
Library Settings > Versioning Settings.
Set the Document Versioning History option to No Versioning.
Turn off Required Properties in the SharePoint Document Library
Do the following:
Navigate to the document library in SharePoint.
On the Library Tools ribbon, select Library >
Library Settings.
Under the table titled Columns, see if any items have a check mark under the
Required column.
Click any item marked as required and then set the Require that this column contains information option to
No.

  • Office 365 hosted Exchange Outlook 2013 "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange"

I have Outlook 2013 downloaded from my Office 365 account and am getting the error "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange".  I have added all the steps I have followed so far below.
We changed over to the Office 365 hosted Exchange from 2003 Small Business Server yesterday.  I have backed up my Outlook 2010 then uninstalled all Office applications and rebooted.  Then downloaded the Office 2013 suite from my account
and installed it.  Ran the desktop setup to "Set up your desktop applications to work with Office 365."  Went to the control panel and launched the mail tool, made the
profile and named it Outlook and it auto filled with the correct info.  Clicked Next and it all checked as good, but when I launch Outlook I get the error "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft
Exchange".  I have rebooted the laptop and recreated the account three times with the same results.
    Any suggestions?

OK.  So we solved the problem.  At least in my case.
We deleted the profile again then jumped on a neighbors wifi and then ran the desktop setup from Office 365 again.  Then we launched the mail setup tool, created a new profile and entered the information for the account.  After this took we launched
Outlook and everything is working fine.
One thing to point out is that prior to the time that it worked, when I would create the profile and open it to set it up, it would auto fill the two available fields Name and Email Address.  On the last run it didn't auto fill and I had four fields
to fill out.  Name, Email Address and Password (x2).
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Unable to integrate on-premises Lync 2010 to Office 365 hosted UM

    Hello everyone
I am looking for a solution to make our voicemail working again after the recent move to Office 365.  We have a fully functional Lync environment with edge  server and it is connected
to a couple of analogue PSTN lines using an audiocodes MP-118 Gateway. We don't have a PABX system. I was able to integrate this setup to the on-premises exchange UM. We recently migrated our exchange mailboxes to O365 and I followed the procedure to integrate
on-premises lync to Hosted UM but no luck. I think the 'Outlook Voice Access" number is causing the issue. Since we don't have a PABX I am not sure what number I should use for Outlook Voice Access.  I was using a fake number in the on-premises setup.
Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue or suggest a workaround?
    Thanks
    MS

    Hi,
Naturally if you use a fake number then you won't be able to call your Subscriber Access number from the PSTN. A common mistake when configuring hosted UM with on premises Lync is not matching the 'routing number' in your hosted UM dial plan to the number
of your Subscriber Access contact object on premises - these two numbers should be the same. Typically the number used for this is a spare number on your DDI range. You can use a fake number if you desire, it wont be accessible externally, but is required
to map the hosted UM service to a contact object down in Lync.
You mention that you had previously used on premises UM without issue, you should ensure that the legacy contacts objects and configuration for this has been removed to ensure it doesn't impact your new hosted configuration.
If you can point me to the guide that you followed, I might be able to identify anything that's missing from the process.
Additionally, what is the error that Lync reports, and have you been able to look at a client side trace with snooper?
    Kind regards
    Ben

  • Office 365 Internal DNS issues

I have recently started doing some migrations from a hosted exchange 2007 server onto office 365 and have ran into some issues.
Since we have alot of users still using the hosted exchange (slowly moving users over 1 by 1 to 365) I have not fully turned off the local server and therefore had some issues with the autodiscover when setting up my email in outlook 2013.
I instead used the domain and email given to me by microsoft (the <user>@<name>.onmicrosoft.com)   This at the least allowed me to be able to add my user and sync my email, but it presented me with another issue. Outlook and now lync ask
me for credentials every few mins.  I can cancel the password prompt and give it a few then it will start syncing again.
After some research i found that it may be my internal DNS preventing seamless communication. I added the CNAME and SRV records to my local server and the issue still presents itself.
Anyone run into this issue and have a resolution? I have tried killing my local credentials on the machine im using outlook on just in case, and verified with all the proper office tools that the autodiscover service is working.  I have synced up my
phone in seconds with no issues as well.
    Any input would be great!
    Thanks!

Since we have alot of users still using the hosted exchange (slowly moving users over 1 by 1 to 365)
You really don't need to do this one by one, Office 365 will take care of most things. You might want to take a look at this article for a step by step guideline of how to migrate from Exchange 2007 to Office 365:

Anyway, for the specific issue you met, I would suggest you to post in the forum of

  • Powerpivot 2013 doesn't work on Excel 2013 / Office 365: data model issue

    Hi guys
I recently upgraded my Office 2010 to Office 365, with Excel 2013. Before installing Office 365 I uninstalled Office 2010. I'm running Windows 8 64 bits.
I have the Powerpivot 2013 add-in, I can activate it without any issue. However when I click on "manage" on any spreadsheet (including new empty ones) I have an error "We
couldn't load the Data Model.  This may be because the Data Model in this workbook is damaged.", followed by "PowerPivot is unable to load the Data Model".
I tried to repair the installation to no avail. I tried to launch excel in admin mode, nothing better.
This issue seems to be shared by some other people on this forum but
with no satisfactory answer so far.
I had a SQL server 2012 plugin installed previously which I uninstalled as well, but no change.
Would you think of something else?
    Thanks

  • SATA Host adapter issue

Hey guys,      I Believe that I have found an issue with the SATA host adapter in a Pavilion p6210y desktop.  I have having trouble restoring the system after a hard drive replacement and I discovered that if I have BOTH the hard drive and the CD-ROM drive unplugged then the machine will boot.  If I plug in either the hard drive OR the CD-ROM then the machine will hang on the HP BIOS screen.  Voltage output of the PSU is normal.  I'm thinking the host adapter (motherboard) is toast.

If you already haven't tried, reset the BIOS to 'Default Values'.Or if that doesn't work, try clearing the BIOS entirely by using the Clear CMOS jumpers on the motherboard or removing all power and the CMOS battery for several minutes. Also, you don't need a CD/DVD drive to run a system diagnostics. If you don't have the most recent version of HP Vision Diagnostics, download the most recent version onto a CD or flash drive using the steps in the Creating HP Vision Diagnostic Media section.* HP Vision Diagnostics is supported by systems manufactured between Sept 2010 > June 2012. You can also try BIOS diagnostics. If the computer does not boot, and you do not have a Vision Diagnostics CD available, use the BIOS diagnostic tests. The HP Vision Diagnostics tests are built into the BIOS of your computer and are a quick and easy way to identify basic computer hardware problems.  HP 3 in 1 Diagnostics USB KeyThe HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 3-in-1 USB Key includes the latest UEFI based diagnostics as well as the older HP Vision Diagnostics. In addition to diagnostics, it now supports the recovery of a corrupted BIOS on supported systems. Download (3-in-1 USB Key v.3.1.0.0)   If you found my answer helpful please say thanks by clicking on the Thumb's Up icon. Thanks!

  • SharePoint hosted app issue - This page cannot be displayed

Hi All, need help on below issue,
When I deploy SharePoint hosted app from Visual Studio 2012, it generated app web URL and that opens the app properly. But, if I upload .app file after
publish in Visual Studio 2012 to App Catalog and added new app based on my SharePoint hosted app. When try to click on app, saying ‘This page can’t be displayed’ in internet explorer. I don’t think so it will be issue with app domain as the app working fine
if deploy from visual studio. Thanks in advance for your help.

It may still be an issue with the app domain, actually with DNS.  When you deploy from VS 2012 it automatically adds the appropriate DNS entries to the Hosts file on your VS 2012 PC.  That way the App domain can be resolved and you can reach the
site.  When you deploy by uploading to the App Catalog that entry in the HOsts file is not created.  Instead you should ahve already added the App domain and a wildcard entry to the DNS server used in your network.  If that wasn't done then
you will get exactly the behavior you describe.
Take a look at the section on DNS in the following article.  Make sure you've followed all the instructions.

  • Outlook 2013 cached mode "mail to keep offline" - does this setting affect archive mailbox or Office 365 hosted archive mailbox?

I have an Exchange 2013 Hybrid environment with Exchange 2007 in coexistance mode as well as Office 365. We are hosting the majority of our Exchange accounts on-premise (migrating them from 2007), and most (soon to be ALL) Archive mailboxes in Office 365.
I have through Group policy set the policy "Select Cached Exchange Mode sync settings for new profiles" to 6 months. This works fine for the contents of the regular mailbox, but the setting is NOT being set at all for the Online Archive mailbox,
whether or not it is hosted on-premise or in Office 365. Is this the expected behavior?
Another question: Is it possible to have the regular mailbox in cached mode and the archive in Online mode or vice versa?

    Hi,
The key to your questions is: Archive mailboxes are online only, they cannot be cached for offline viewing, so you can keep your regular mailboxes offline(In Cached Exchange Mode) or Online, but cannot switch Archive mailboxes to Offline.
The whole idea of the archive mailbox is to keep your "online" mailbox with recent / important mails small and accessible on and offline. The archive mailbox is intended to store older / less important emails which are not neccessary to access immediately.
One important reason of archive mailbox is to prevent the growth of offline files.

  • Wily host agent issue

    Hi Experts,
I have an ongoing issue regarding setting up managed systems in Solution Manager.
My solman system is SP21 and everytime I go to setup a system via Managed System Configuration --> Diagnostics Configuration. I get the same error no matter what the managed system is. The latest version of the ISAgent has been installed via SDM and LMService is up to date. I have stopped and restarted the agents in order to try resolve this but this did not work. I have searched through the forum but have yet to come up with a solution, could this be a bug with SP21?

  • Certificate Host Naming Issue with WRVS4400N

When accessing the WRVS4400N v1.00.16 for Remote Administration or QuickVPN, I get an error indicating that the certificate host name does not match the host name of the WRVS4400N. Is this a an issue with the certificate generated by the WRVS4400N or is there a method of changing the host name of the WRVS4400N to match that of the certificate? I noticed that the name on the certificate is WRVS4400N and the router name is linksys.

I have not been able to generate a certificate to place in the QuickVPN directory. I must be missing something. I looked in the VPN Tab, VPN advanced settings button and VPN Client Accounts tab. I can not find a button to generate a certificate to place in the QuickVPN directory. The only way I get a certificate is by https of the router from the LAN or WAN and exporting it from Internet Explorer. In the mean time, I placed the certificate in my certificate stores under the trusted authority store. Is there a button missing to generate a certificate or do I simply not get it? Both are possible.

  • LMS 4.0.1 End Host display issue

    Using LMS 4.0.1.
When looking at the Device Centre - Troubleshooting view for a device it will display the number of End Hosts in the Configuration Status>Configuration Details section. If I click on the number of devices a pop-up will appear saying "No end hosts found", however if I go to Reports>Inventory>User Tracking and run the report it displays the end hosts correctly
I would appreciate assistance on what could be causing this issue. It was happening with Lms 4.0 but upgrade to 4.0.1 did not change it.

  • Office 365 ProPlus Activation Issues

    Issue Resolved:
After adding all of the Office 365 URL's and Address Ranges to our internet filters exception list activation worked.
    Hi Everyone
I'm preparing for a deployment of Office 365 ProPlus using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) and having trouble getting Office to activate after installation.  Using my custom .xml file, I'm able to install only Office products that are needed without
issue using a Group Policy start-up script.  It is necessary for me to do this because none of the users in my environment have local administrator rights and cannot install Office on their own using Click-to-Run.  Installing with a start-up script
uses the System account to circumvent that issue.  Upon first launch of Office 365 ProPlus I'm prompted to enter my email address and password for activation and promptly receive the error "There is a problem with your account.  Please try again
    later."
I've verified that an Office 365 ProPlus license has been provisioned for my account through our portal and have ADFS running without issue.  Here's where things start to get strange... In testing, I added myself as a local administrator to my desktop
and downloading/installed the Click-to-Run from our Office portal.  Upon launching Office for the first time it was activated automatically and the portal showed that a license was used.
As of right now I'm at a bit of a loss as to why I can't activate Office using valid credentials with proper licenses provisioned when installing with the ODT but it auto activated when using Click-to-Run.  Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

**note: Add SourcePath="PATH TO OFFICE INSTALL FILES" points to the Office\Data folders which were created when using the ODT in /download mode.
    Edit:
After troubleshooting the issue more yesterday I found that whenever I try to activate Office 365 ProPlus an error is generated in the application log.
The description for Event ID 0 from source MSOIDSVC.EXE cannot be found. Either the component that raises
this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
InitializeSvcAPI failed with hr = 0x8004825b
I've thus far been unsuccessful in figuring out what MSOIDSVC.EXE is or what it does.
    Edit:

MSOIDSVC.EXE is part of the Microsoft Services Sign-In Assistant (MSO SIA).  After installing MSO SIA and verifying that the services were running activation still failed.
