Online Help does not have "Customizing the Login Portlet" as claimed by Conf Guide

Portal 309 configuration guide claims that you can include a self-registration link in your customized login portlet. However, this does not exist in online help.
Does anybody know what is the link which I can use in m customized login portlet?

You can enable users to create their own portal user accounts. However, first you must install the self-registration feature.
To install and configure the self-registration feature:
1.Start SQL*Plus and login to the database in which the Login Server is installed.
2.Create a schema. This schema will be used for accessing user administration objects on the Login Server. From now
on in this task we will refer to this as the user administration access schema.
3.In the user administration access schema, create a synonym for the Login Server SSO schema package
wwsso_api_user_admin. This synonym must be called wwsso_api_user_admin.
4.Grant Execute privileges on the wwsso_api_user_admin package in the Login Server SSO schema to the user
administration access schema.
5.If Oracle Portal and the Login Server are installed in different databases:
a.In the user administration access schema, create a synonym for the Login Server SSO schema package
wwctx_api_vpd package. This synonym must be called wwctx_api_vpd.
b.Grant Execute privileges on the wwctx_api_vpd package in the Login Server SSO schema to the user
administration access schema.
c.In the schema in which Oracle Portal is installed, create a database link to connect to the user administration
access schema.
6.Start a command line prompt.
7.Change to the portal30/admin/plsql directory of the directory in which Oracle Portal is installed.
8.Enter the following command:

selfreg.csh -s <portal_schema> -p <portal_password> -ua <sso_uadmin_schema> -c
<portal_connect_string> -dblink <sso_uadmin_dblink>
NT:
selfreg.cmd -s <portal_schema> -p <portal_password> -ua <sso_uadmin_schema> -c
<portal_connect_string> -dblink <sso_uadmin_dblink>
where:
portal_schema
is the database schema in which Oracle Portal is installed.
Default: PORTAL30
portal_password
is the password for the above schema.
Default: <portal_schema>
sso_uadmin_schema
is the user administration access database schema you created in step 1.
Default: <portal_schema>SSOUA
Note: You do not need to provide a value for this parameter if you specify a database
link for the dblink parameter.
portal_connect_string
is the connect string for the database in which Oracle Portal is installed.
Note: You need to provide the connect string only if you are running the script on a
different database.
sso_uadmin_dblink
is the name of the database link created in step 4c.
Note: You need to provide the database link only if the Login Server is installed in a
different database instance from the Oracle Portal installation. If you do not provide a
value for this parameter, it is assumed that the user administration access schema is
in the same database instance as Oracle Portal.
For example:

9.Press the Enter or Return key.
10.Start Oracle Portal
11.In the Services portlet, click Global Settings. By default, the Services portlet is located on the Oracle Portal home
page's Administer tab.
12.In the Self-Registration Options section, select Enable Users To Log On Immediately if you want users to be able to
log on to Oracle Portal immediately after they create their own user account using the self-registration feature.
Note: If you do not select this check box, you will need to assign the user as an authorized user before he or she is able
to log on.
13.To expose the self-registration feature to users, you can customize the Login portlet to include a self-registration link.

    Are you using the Office for Mac 2011 version, as you need to do?  The Office for Mac 2004 is Not at all compatible with Mountain Lion, and the 2008 version has been noted to have some problems running with ML.

    I'm using Acrobat X, version 10.1.0 on Windows XP and IE 8.
    When I click Help, the browser window opens, but the help does not load. How do I fix this?

    Thanks - Note that I did try searching for a solution on the Internet and in the forums, but didn't find the article because I used "launch" instead of "display".
    I'll have to use one of the workarounds in the article because I cannot open the help from the Acrobat Help menu.

    Guys first let me tell you that I haven't seen an abysmal customer service like this. Even the people who sell pirated or illegal materials offer better customer service than this. Seriously. I think BB doesn't give a s*** about the customers, the only official method is to ignore the customer it seems.

  • Missing line in Sales Report that does not have customer item info

    I have to say first is that I love this forum.. just by reading I have figured out how to resolve several issues I was stumped on.  THANK YOU!!
    I am using Crystal Reports version: 11.5.12.1838 with Dynamics GP and it's on Windows 7 O/S.
    I have set up a sales picking ticket using the following tables: IV00101, SOP10100, SOP10106, SOP10200, and SOP60300.
    On the report I have our product number (SOP10200.ITEMNMBR) and our product description (SOP10200.ITEMDESC)..I also have the customer product number (SOP60300.CUSTITEMNMBR) and customer product name (SOP60300.CUSTITEMDESC).
    The issue is when an item only has our product number and description without the customer information the line does not show up on the report.
    The tables are linked as such:
    SOP10200.ITEMNMBR u2192 IV00101.ITEMNMBR
    SOP10200.SOPNUMBE u2192 SOP10100.SOPNUMBE

    If you want to get even the product details irrespective of customer details exist or not then you may need to look into the join condition used between the table
    Check whether you are using inner join this may not help.....you will have to use some other join like left OJ or Right OJ or something like that

  • Photoshop online help does not display

    I am having exactly the same problem reported last year by Alex with online help. It has not been answered so far.
    I'm using Photoshop CC 2014 French version under W7 64bits.  I have tried with different browsers (IE, FF and Chrome).
    I get error 404 when I click on Help from the Help menu (or hit F1). The address displayed in the browser is

    independently from the browser.
    I tried the same from a different laptop and encountered the same issue.

    That is a very strange link to be returned for accessing help. You should be lead to Photoshop Help | Photoshop Help (or specifically for you: Aide de Photoshop | Aide de Photoshop), but perhaps there is an issue with the French version having the incorrect address internally. When Alex reported this (I have not seen that post), were they also using the French version?

    the page that suppose to help you to change /reset security question does not contain link to change it .
    I try using two web browsers and not luck on both .

    The option to send reset info, as described on the steps on that page, will only show if you have a rescue email address on your account (which is not the same as an alternate email address).
    If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
    e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
    or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
    When they've been reset you can then use those steps to add a rescue email address for potential future use.

  • Online help does not work any more (Lightroom 3, CS5 Suite)

    Hi,
    since a few days I get an error when using the Lightroom Online (german edition) help on my Win 7 64bit computer.
    When searching for something there pops up a dialog box stating "Unerwarteter Fehler. Suchen Sie erneut", that's like "Unexpected error. Please search again".
    My girlfriend has the CS5 Web Suite. She gets the same error on a diffferent computer (but also Win7 64bit). She also got an error 16822 when the help client tried to update. This error is already known and so I was able to fix it.
    But the error when using the help itself is still there.
    Any ideas.
    PS: The help does work when I switch from online to local search.

  • Windows Mail - Thunderbird. Online help does not match program. How to Import?

    I'm attempting to follow the Thunderbird directions (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_switching-from-windows-mail-or-windows-live-mail-to-thunderbird) online for Converting from Windows Mail (Not Live Mail) to Thunderbird. I'm at the Import Step. The instructions say:
    "In Thunderbird, go to Tools | ImportExport | Import all messages from a directory | Also from its subdirectories."
    Under Tools, there is an Import, but no ImportExport. When the Import option is chosen, it does not allow for a directory location, only what to import (Eveything, Mail, Contacts, etc.) When choosing "Import Everything" and pressing "Next" nothing is in the list to import. The "Next" button does nothing and the Cancel Button cancels the entire Import.
    Can someone explain (or point to a current and accurate article on) how to import all mail (with local mailboxes and file structures kept intact).

    In the first paragraph of the section "Importing Windows Mail Messages", it states you must download and install the ImportExportTools add-on. Once installed, the relevant menu options will appear in TB.

  • Leopard: my account works, but does not appear in the login screen

    I upgraded to leopard using erase and install. Because I was a FileVault user on Tiger, I could not use the migration assistant, so I just created a new account. As part of the creation, I also changed my userid and groupid to 1000, to match the rest of my NFS network, and I also enabled FileVault.
    When the login window appears, my account does not show up. I can click "Other..." and enter my short name and password and it seems that everything is fine. However, I would like my account to appear on the login window. Currently, the only three items are Guest, System User (a admin account that I created), and Other.

    The rules determining whether or not an account is visible in the "login window" seem to keep changing with every OS X version - perhaps they changed again in "Leopard". For example, in Tiger, a user with the short name "Admin" was inherently hidden (and to my knowlege couldn't be made visible unless logged in), but this is not the case in Leopard.
    I can't test this in Tiger, but on my Leopard system, it seems 1000 is a magic number - uid=999 and 1001 are visible, but 1000 is hidden from the "login window".
    Sorry I don't know of a solution - it's all too new at this point so I can't even say if one exists. But thanks for asking an interesting question...

    Johan,
    The text that you found is not the error message, it is a script that you can execute in SQL*Plus
    (logged in as the appropriate utilities user), to find out which Oracle error occurred.
    If you execute this script in SQL*Plus, it will execute the utility there and report the log messages
    to dbms_output. At the moment it stops you will also see the actual Oracle error that prevents
    the utility from finishing. Maybe then you can already fix it yourself. If not, please put the error and
    the last few (10 or so) log messages in a reply to this message.

    Might be caching issue.
    Try this:
    Add : &1=2 at the end of URL in the location bar and press enter. If is appears then it is just a caching issue.

  • My MacBook Pro does not boot beyond the login screen. I have a full hard drive. Help!

    I tried to buy an IPHONE 5S GSM 16GB TMOBILE SILVER by splitting charge in to two different cards .
    Well , the transaction did not go thru , everything was normal ; till I saw the charge in my wells fargo account for 174.43 USD and called the bank , learned that the amount debitted from my account was a charge "not an authorization". Bank told me to call Apple and connect them to merchant services of Wells Fargo so I called APPLE ONLINE STORE at 11/15 around 16:15 and spoke with online agent JOSH and made a conference call with WELLS FARGO MERCHANT SERVICES ...
    Wells Fargo confirmed to JOSH that it was a charge even JOSH could not be able to find & match the charge with related credit card number. Only thing JOSH advised me was to wait till tomorrow morning ...He told " It should dissappear from my account "... On the other hand wells fargo told I can claim a dispute but the it will take 10 business days for me to get reimbursed. So who is responsible for the $174.43 vaporized from my account by APPLE and they do not know about that ?

    Well, it seems to me that you were told that a credit would be issued and to wait until tomorrow. I'd suggest you do that, though I'd recommend waiting until perhaps Monday, or at least Sunday, since it may take a day for your credit card company to process the credit.
    If by Monday you haven't seen the credit arrive in your account and your credit card company confirms that they haven't received it, call Apple Support, ask to speak with someone in Customer Relations, and calmly explain the situation to them and ask for assistance in getting a quick resolution.

    How do I get an old library onto a new computer.  When I plug in phone all my apps do not show up.

    You need to copy the iTunes liubrary from your Old computer, or its Backup, to your New computer...
