Online Registration - no USA

Website location: 'Welcome to Online Product (base warranty) Registration'
Registered new IdeaCentre K330 but had to select erroneous country as USA was not listed as an option in the dropdown list.  In fact there were no North or South American countries listed (I checked for Canada, Mexico, etc.).  Please update list.
Thanks, Karen

Oh dear, I see what you mean. All the countries in Western Europe and North America are missing .
There's a "Feedback to WebMaster" link at the bottom of that page. I fed back, and you should too!
Hope this helps!
As of June 26, 2011 U.S.A. has not been added to the Online Product (base warranty) Registration page. WOW! It's was noticed and reported nearly 3 months ago so I also left feedback to WebMaster.

  • Using BT sport app or online Service whilst in USA

If I wanted to View Footbal or Rugby whilst on Holiday in the USA could I use the APP on my phone
Or go on line witha PC in the Hotel and View
or would BT block as I am outside the UK,
Going in Sept and want to watch som UK sport

You could of course set up a VPN to use outside the UK, which is not allowed in the T&C but it works. As long as you don't tell bt or ask for support. lol
sky twitter account a customer ask why sky go streams are worst then sd and yet bt and eurosports apps stream in hd. Reply from mod, oh thats easy the files for hd are some huge that sky go can't play them and no app can stream hd due to this and so when they say they are they're really sd streams, if there was any way around this we would have done it now.

  • Online Toll Free Number for USA

Hi, I am trying to buy a Online Number for US. I want a Toll Free Number.
Is it possible to buy toll free numbers for the US as Skype Online Numbers?
If so, when I go to choose number, the system forces me to chooses a state.
    Can anyone advise or help.

Skype does not offer toll-free numbers.  If you want a Skype Online Number in the USA, you can choose from many states and area codes, but not from the toll-free area codes (800, 888, 877, 866, and 855).
If you want to have a toll-free number forward calls to a Skype account, you will have to contact some other provider for toll-free numbers.  Some of them may be able to forward a toll-free number directly to a Skype account name, but most will probably be able to only forward calls to another (non-toll-free) phone number.  In that case, you would still need to purchase a Skype Online Number, and then the toll-free provider would forward calls to that Online Number.

  • Online number is not showing up in caller id

I live in the U.S. and my online number is not showing up when I call someone.  Is there a way to fix this

    unleashyourgeek wrote:
I am constantly having problems with clients not seeing my phone number when I call. Why is this happening? Your answer here was very short and not very specific as to how to resolve this. I have been fighting this for more than 2 months now but I keep paying for a number that people can't see when I call them.
I'm sorry I did not give an answer that met your level of specificity.  The original poster did not post the number he/she was trying to call.  This is also a worldwide forum mostly inhabited by Skype users along with some Skype employees who post from time to time.  I'm not a Skype employee, just a user who makes use of many features of Skype to avoid paying more $$$ to the telephone companies.
When Skype users have Online Numbers, these numbers are not automatically used as Caller ID when calling telephones from a Skype account.  This way, the Skype users hold the control over whether or not to have a working phone number show up as Caller ID. Most who have Online Numbers want them used as Caller ID, but the users - and not Skype - get that level of control.  In my opinion, that's a good thing.
The surest way to see the current Caller ID settings for your Skype account and change them is to log into your account on the Skype web site (use the "account" link on the upper-right corner of the Skype web site).  When you log in, you will see the current settings, and the link to make changes.  If you have Online Numbers that can be used for Caller ID, you can select them.  Online Numbers in the USA and the UK are examples of the numbers that can be used as Caller ID from Skype, and numbers from Mexico and Australia can't be used as Caller ID.  You also have options to use different numbers as Caller ID for calls to telephones in those countries, and have a "default" number used for Caller ID anywhere else.  In my case, my default number for Caller ID is my US Online Number, and my UK Online Number is used as Caller ID for calls to the UK.
Even with these settings properly configured, there are still occasions where your number (an Online Number, or a mobile number which has gone through the verification process with two SMS messages) will not appear on the Caller ID displays of the phones you call.  This is generally outside the control of Skype.  If you are using a number that is not a "local" number in the country that you are calling, it too may not show up on the Caller ID display.  Instead of posting on the community forums, using the Support link at the top of this page may be the better way to go.  You can go through the knowledge base trying to find a solution, and end up opening a support ticket with Skype.  If you have a subscription, you may be able to go to a live chat with Skype support.

    Hello,
We just purchased a 12 month Online Skype Number with USA, Seattle area code and we have a question: Will this number work without the +1 dial if we are called from the US?
Can we buy a real American phone number, if yes what are the costs?
    Thanks’ in advance.

You would need an Online Number to receive calls from telephones with your Skype account, and a subscription (or Skype Credit) to be able to call telephones from Skype.  Except for Caller ID (depending on what country your Online Number is from), Online Numbers do nothing for calling telephones.

What country is your online number in?
Not all of Skype's Online Numbers are eligible for use as Caller ID.  I know of at least two countries, Australia and Mexico, based on the Online Numbers I have.  My other two Online Numbers, in the USA and UK, can be used as Caller ID when calling telephones from Skype.  In some countries, this is either due to restrictions or limitations by Skype's partner providing that service in a particular country, or due to local/national regulations in that country.

You can't really demand people to be more helpful! If anyone knows of any, I'm sure they'll reply and let you know, but a lot of posters on this board are people that li've in the US, so they probably wouldn't look up stores that ship internationally very much.

  • Language Support in Leopard on top of Tiger

    Hello everyone.
I have a MacBook with the Mac OS 10.4.10 in spanish....
I want to purchase Leopard from Apple Online Store in the USA but I don't know if the copy they sell supports Spanish.... can I select the installation language?. Does the Installation programs recognize the language of the OS already installed in the computer?
I have an Spanish OS and I don't want to damage the language.......
    Best regards

I want to purchase Leopard from Apple Online Store in the USA but I don't know if the copy they sell supports Spanish.... I have an Spanish OS and I don't want to damage the language.......
There is no "Spanish" version of OS X. All copies of OS X are the same and are multilingual. When you get a copy from the Apple store or anywhere else, you choose a language when you first install it and afterwards you can switch to Spanish or any of more than a dozen other languages in a few seconds by changing the system preferences. That goes for what you have now, and Leopard will certainly work the same way.

    Should I get credit?
First thing.... sign up for the Unlimited USA & Canada subscription.  You can get it for US$ 2.99/month, or a year at a time with a 15% discount.  Once you have the subscription, you can purchase an Online Number in the USA.  There are numbers available in most US states and area codes.  The numbers cost US$ 18/3 months or US$ 60/year, but you get a 50% discount on the online number if you already have a subscription.
With this, you essentially get a Skype account that can receive calls with a US telephone number, and make unlimited calls (subject to Skype's fair-use policy) to landline and mobile phones in the USA and Canada, for around US$ 60/year - or about US$ 5/month.  If you have any need to send SMS messages, you can do that using Skype credit.  You won't be able to receive SMS messages with Skype.
Beyond all that, you'd only need to keep Skype Credit on your account if you wanted to make calls to countries other than the USA and Canada with this approach.  Keep in mind you can use a credit card or PayPal to purchase the subscription and online number, or you can purchase Skype Credit first and then use the credit for the subscription and online number.
    Hope that helps!
