Open Office BootstrapException in Web Application

I'm trying to get a web app (web service, to be specific) to bootstrap Open Office, but I'm getting errors:
com.sun.star.comp.helper.BootstrapException: no office executable found!
at com.sun.star.comp.helper.Bootstrap.bootstrap(Bootstrap.java:253)I looked at the server.log output (Sun Java System App Server), and -Djava.library.path does contain C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program
I've also tried with:
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\classes
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org_2.2_SDK\classesTaking things a little further doesn't yield any new results:
Adding the following to Native Library Path Prefix:
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\juh.jar
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\jurt.jar
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\ridl.jar
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\unoil.jar
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program\sandbox.jar
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\programAdding the following under "JVM Options" causes the server to hang:
-Dcom.sun.star.lib.loader.unopath="C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\program"
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files\OpenOffice/org
Exception in thread "main"I also tried without the quotes:
-Dcom.sun.star.lib.loader.unopath=C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.2\programNothing seems to work.
Anyone work with OOo on the server?

Everything works when adding the following to "Classpath Prefix:"
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes\juh.jar
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes\jurt.jar
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes\jut.jar
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes\ridl.jar
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes\unoil.jar
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes\officebean.jar
C:\OOo\Office_2_3\program\classes

  • Open Office files in client application in Sharepoint Search

Is there a way to have all users of a SharePoint farm open Office documents that show up as search results in our Enterprise Search Center within their client applications and not in the Office Web Apps?
I know i can do this manually for me from the Search Result page > Preferences. But is there a way to do this
automatically for every user? Couldn't find it on the internet.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Simon,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to open office documents in client application in SharePoint Search results.
In order to open search results in the client application, you had to alter the Item_CommonItem_Body.html search results display template.

  • I upgraded my Mac from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  I did have Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 in my applications and now get a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported."

I just upgraded my MAC from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  When I try to access my Microsoft Office for MAC (2004 edition) files I am getting a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported.  How can I access all of my save Word documents?  I just want to be able to retrieve all of my documents that were in Microsoft Office for Mac (2004).  If I purchase the newest version of MS office for Mac from Apple will I be able to retrieve my old documents?

Use any number of free alternatives to your nearly decade old version of MS Office.
    Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice (free)
    OpenOffice (free)
In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for years. Life is better without Microsoft.

  • Open OBIEE report from web application

Experts, I want to open OBIEE report from a web application. I have a question regarding the security here. Say I login as 'USER1' in web application, I would have to pass 'USER1' in nquser parameter. Correct? Also, this report has access to 'Sales Group' users only. So, does 'USER1' in web application need to be assigned to 'Sales Group'? Or, any user in the web application can open this report as long as I pass nquser in the GOURL.
    thx,
    parag

You don't need to specify group details.
When the report hits OBIEE, it will determine the permissions based on the nquser.
    Hope it helps.

  • Opening a file in web application

    Hi,
I have a Web application and I need to open a file using a File object.I am unable to open the file unless I specify the complete path of the file including the name of the drive in which it recides. But this will make the application dependent on the folder structure in the system in which it is deployed.I want to make it independent of the folder structure.I placed the file in the same folder as the java class which tries to open it.But still it is not working unless the folder structure is specified. Please help.
    Thanks,

    check ServletContext.getResource documentation

We are looking for an out-of-the box FREE open source Web application we can deploy on the web hosting machine.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I haven't tried ICEFaces or JBoss seam or Apache MyFaces, so I can't really compare them.
ICEFaces appears to be a nice framework/tool from looking at their site, even though it's open source I think one has to pay for support, you might want to take that into consideration while making your decision.
Apache MyFaces, is fully community driven - so you get free support from the community.
I don't know about JBoss seam.

  • Accessing web application from users' PC

    Hi there,
My server is up and running, appsets are working nicely and everything works perfectly. But I have an issue when accessing the web application from a user PC on the same domain, and I'm not sure if it's down to me or not.
From the users' PC, with BPC for Excel open, I click on the link for BPC Web, and Internet Explorer opens and attempts to take me to the web app. But if the address contains the server name, it doesn't work. If I manually type the IP address in instead it works.
Why is this? Have I forgotten to do something, or is it a DNS problem, or other local IT issue?
I'm sure I've missed something really silly, but can't figure out what!
    Any ideas appreciated!
    Thanks a lot,
    Jason

    Hi Akim,
I think this is actually part of a wider problem - I have been testing this on my local PC (over the clients' VPN) and now it works fine. But I just logged onto the clients PC using Webex and I can't get into ANYTHING! Not the Admin client, not BPC for Office, not the web application - nothing.
I think I need to go there on monday and actually go through this with one of their network guys - I'm not convinced that it's a problem with the server anymore!
Thanks for your help - I will keep you posted!
    Jason

  • Open office Dictionary in Flex

    Hi all,
I am trying to implement spell checker in my flex + AIR (desktop)application. I want to perform spell check in offline mode for that I need the data base of words. I have open office installed. Can I use the open office dictionary in my application?
    If yes then how?
    Thanks in advnace.

I don't know much about Open Office dictionaries. If it's a simple file, and not a database, you could open and read the file from AIR. That should be pretty straightforward. If not, and if OpenOffice has a scripting API for spell check, you could try and see if you can send a script command from AIR to OpenOffice, and then let OpenOffice do the work. But, I'm sorry, you will have to check both OpenOffice and AIR to see if this would be possible.

  • Splash screen in open office, gnucash, etc

The splash screen in open office, gnucash, and other applications are really annoying especialy in old systems where it takes lot of time to start and you cannot do other things with that splash thing on your face. I have seen that this does not happen in kde. Is there a way to disable it in xfce4?

    /opt/openoffice/program/sofficerc
Change the logo from 1 to 0. Google told me. I did not test it.

  • Open Office Installation

    Hi,
I just switched to a MBP and tryiing to get OpenOffice to work for me.
The strange thing is that I downloaded OpenOffice and can use it, but after shutting down my MBP and starting up the next day I can't find OpenOffice anymore and need to download it again.
I am doing something wrong and the solution is probably very simple, but I really need OpenOffice to work properly, I have got all my business documents in it.
    Thanks

Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions.
After opening the .dmg file did you drag Open Office into the HD/Applications folder or are you running it from the .dmg? The latter might explain your problem.
    Good luck,

  • Office Web Applications supress excel to open in EXCEL Services (IRM)

    HI ALL,
I have the following components running in my sharepoint 2013 farm
    1) IRM
    2) Office Web Application (OWA)
    3) Excel Services [Recently added for BI features]
my excel sheets are opening using OWA and I know have to suppress it using powershell New-SPWOPISuppressionSetting to make excel sheets open using excel services.
but some of my libraries are using IRM and excel sheets are not opening using EXCEL services.
please specify what needs to be done
    thanks,
    Faraz Javaid

    Hi,
I searched from the internet and I found that Excel Services will not load an Excel workbook that has been enabled with IRM or comes from a document library enabled with IRM.
