Opportunities are not supported with SAP Business One 2005A SP0 and SP1??

In SBO Note 973962 says that opportunities are not supported with 2005A sp0 and SP1.
When running 5.9.7 I can sync opportunities.
So does anyone know what is and what is not supported in this version for Opportunities?
Thanks,
Eric Rasenberg

Full functionality is not shared nor synchronized between systems for opportunities in 5.9.x

  • Crystal Reports Dynamic Parameters with SAP Business One

Okay, I've got this very strange issue with dynamic parameters in Crystal Reports connected to SAP Business One.
Let's start with the software versions:
    - Crystal Reports 12.3.0.601
    - SAP Business One 8.8 (8.80.231) SP: 00 PL: 13
    - Windows XP SP3
(SBO Server on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005)
What I'm about to describe is something I've tried in several reports and for which I created a very, very simple test report to see if it was reproducible in a very simple situation.
    - I connected to a Business One server through CR's SBO connection type. Logon is successful, tables are shown.
    - I pick OCRD and plac CardCode and CardName in the details section on the report. Previewing the report shows data.
    - I create a dynamic parameter on CardCode and in the Select Expert I select the CardCode field and define that that should be equal to the parameter.
    - I preview the report again. Now it asks me in such a parameter screen for logon credentials. It shows the server and database it tries to connect to and in the username it shows the SQL Server username I used to connect to the SQL Server in the first place. However, the password for that user is not accepted. I also tried to login with the Windows administrator user and with the SBO manager user, but no success with any attempt.
I also tried to add a static parameter and add all database values to the list. Same screen, different result:
    Crystal Reports 2008 wrote:
    Logon Failed.
    Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT:
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. (rptcontrollers.dll)
(On a side note: the report is saved as report1.rpt)
Anyone else got similar issues and found a solution?

    Hi,
When you have fixed your crystal installation following the note posted earlier, please take a look at the [how to guide|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000882232009E.pdf] and also at the [e-learning|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700001370262010E] about SAP Business One 8.8 and Crystal Reports.
There are so called "tokens" which you need to use instead of dynamic parameters.
Dynamic paramters don't work in SAP Business One 8.8, if they are not defined as a static paramter with token.
    Best regards,
    Darius

    Dear Experts .
I'm trying to enable widget for my company db but getting the following error :
Ensure that SAP Business One Integration Service and SAP Business One Event Sender Service have been started; then wait 1 minute and try again
I can connect to the B1iF locally and remotely .
I have the db configured in the SLD and connects successfully .
I have the event sender service and proxy started and configured for the company db.
I can access the Dashboard web portal and login with database sap credentials (but I see nothing there)
I've checked that there are no duplicate entries in the SSLD table for SBO common (note : 1619422)
I've also tried to re-activate the xelcious from the B1iF->control.
    My Setup :
I'm runing SBO server, B1iF installed locally and B1iSN installed on a 3rd party server.
I'm using B1iF as even forwarder for B1iSN.
I know this has been discussed many times through out the forum and I've tried most of the stuff other than clean install.
I would appreciate any input before removing B1iF completely and re-installing.

  • Crystal Server with SAP Business One Crystal

    Hi,
We have installed Crystal Reports Server 2008 on a server which already had Crystal Reports 2008 (12.1.0.892) (Fix pack 3, SAP Business One version) installed, as well as SAP Business One 8.8.
This is the first time we have dealt with the CR Server application.
The CCM & the CMC are running fine as are all the services.
When running CR 2008 and choosing Save As: Enterprise, the error message "No authentication plugins are installed" appears.
The Business View manager pops up a log on box and no authentication methods appear in the drop down box.
Is it possible the SAP install has corrupted the Crystal Server install, as the authentication plug in dll's do appear to be missing from the server.
The same issue arises when istalling the client tools on a client which has the same designer version installed, but not on a client which has on older version installed.

Resolved by uninstalling everything Crystal related, deleting the Business Objects folers, then  reinstalling starting with Crystal Server.
The install of the B1 specific versions must not contain some necessary files, which are then not installed by the other products

    Hi Runar,
Most of the times this message appears to users who have got .Net Framework 1.0 and 2.0 installed on their machines at the same time. That actually confuses the XL Reporter on which to run. I would recommend creating an XML file with the name as "SBOXLReporter.exe.config" and save it at the following XLReporter working location
    C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\XLR\XLReporter\Client\
Make sure u paste the following text as it is in that XML File and save it and then run XLReporter. Hope it works out.

    Hi,
Actually i guess i could be possible but I'm not 100% sure on the level of integration. I recommend u to download the B1iSN and have a look at the doc.. Operation_Guide_Subsidiary_Integration_EN.pdf, And a lot depends on the database the 3rd party software is using.
    Hope it helps,

  • Most SharePoint DBs are not supported with AlwaysOn for Disaster Recover?

    Hi ...
I'm in the middle of testing and assessing DR site for our SharePoint MSQQL instance. I found a lot of talking about ALwaysOn. I try to figure it out. It is nice and easy, combine DR and HA in single
    solution- Wow.
After proceeding with some research I shocked when found only content and secure databases are supported in Async mode for DR site. We have Fail-over cluster (old fashion with shared storage) , what
the beneftis that will give me AlwaysOn in my case from building a DR point of view.
We are running hyper-v and SQL 2012

Thanks Sean for your explaining the answer.  Actually I have many options, but the important thing as you said these things you wouldn’t play with. I need something is stable and strong without any complications.
    My options are
User either AlwaysOn failover cluster OR  Old windows cluster for HA with log shipping for DR.
For me this is supported and somehow acceptable.
User either AlwaysOn failover cluster – Old windows cluster for HA along with AlwaysOn for DR as Async replica. Still not supported from Microsoft.
We have already windows failover cluster with shared storage and I can go directly with log shipping for DR. However, still log shipping is not supported as DR for SharePoint but I’m going to make it as new instance and direct SharePoint farms to the DR
site.  This procedure tested as moving database SharePoint instance to new server. It is worked well and straight forward.
Again,  I cannot use AlwaysOn for SharePoint as DR while it is not supported (Contents and Secure is supported however as HA is fully supported).

  • At times our Side A PG's and Roggers are not sychronize with our Side B PG's and Roggers

We have an issue with our call center our Peripheral Gateways and Rogger servers from side A are at times not synchronizing with side B Peripheral Gateways and Rogger servers. Our call center design is as follow with have two sites one site is our side B in the other side is our side A. Each site has one Peripheral Gateway and a Rogger server and each server have dual NICs. One NIC is connected to our network and the other is connected to the “private network”. Our private network network consists of a private router at each site and a private switch where one NIC of each PG and Rogger server connects to. The two private routers have a T1 connection. We first thought our patch panel was bad then we thought that the switches were the PG’s and Roggers were connected were bad, however we notice that a times the ports on each switch on each site would go up and down, so we were not sure if this normal. Can anyone help us narrow down the root cause of our issue is it at the server side if so where or is it on the switch or our router side.
    Thanks.

From the server side you could check that you are not hitting this FN
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/ts/fn/632/fn63215.html
though TCP offload shouldnt really bring down the port connected to the server but it would be worth to check that TCPChimeny has been disabled.

  • Installation of SAP Business One client and required administration rights

    Dear community,
I would like to kindly ask you for your feedback on the installation of SAP Business One client and its patches on end-user computers.
The pain points I have heard so far are the following:
    - The installation of SAP Business One client and its patches has to be started by a user with administrator rights.  As far as I know (and please correct me if I am wrong), this is also required in case of installation of any other software.
    - End users usually do not have administrator rights and therefore the SAP Business One clients have to be manually upgraded by administrator.  This is time consuming (and therefore costly) activity.
We are considering to design a new solution which would overcome the above limitations.
I would like to confirm with you if my understanding is correct:
    Question 1:
Is it a common situation that the end-users of SAP Business One client do not have administrator rights and therefore cannot install the patches of SAP Business One client by themselves?
If yes, how do you resolve this currently?
    Question 2:
Do you use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or Active Directory (or any other 3rd party solution) to automatically distribute software packages and updates to client PCs at your customers?
    Question 3:
If the SAP Business One client installation (and its patches) is delivered as MSI package with silent installation capability, would you be able to automate the deployment of B1 client updates to client PC using the abovementioned technologies? Or can you still see some obstacles?
    Thank you
    Best regards
    Jan Ruzarovsky
    SAP Business One Product Management

    Dear all,
Thank you very much for your comments, very helpful!
@Marco - SAP Business One 8.8 client currently does not support the silent installation / upgrade. However we are currently considering this requirement and we would like to deliver it as soon as possible.
We are currently considering several possible designs. One of them is as follows:
    1. A new SAP Business One Updater Service will be installed on each client workstation.
It will be a windows service installed and running under a local system account.
    2. The updater service will check regularly if there are any new patches of SAP Business One client or add-ons uploaded to a configured shared directory.
    3. If a new patch is found in the shared directory, the updater service will SILENTLY install the new patch (add-ons, SAP Business One) on the client workstation.
The service would be able to install patches even if nobody is logged in.
    Questions:
If we consider the above design, there are a few open topics:
    1. During the upgrade of the SAP Business One server, the client patches (and SAP add-on patches, partner add-ons) would be placed to a SHARED directory instead of into SBO-Common (as it is implemented currently).
    - Does this have any impact on your tools, processes or add-ons?
    2. SAP Business One upgrade wizard will put the latest patch of SAP Business One client into a configured shared directory. The shared directory will have to be read-only for everybody in the network to avoid that the valid installation files are replaced by malware or virus infected files
    - Can you configure such a shared directory?
From customer perspective, if a new patch is put into the shared directory, the updater service can behave as follows:
    1. Manually initiated upgrade of the client
Example: Customer starts the old (not upgraded) SAP Business One client. The client will inform him/her that a new patch has been found and it has to be installed in order to continue working with the client. After customer clicks "Yes", the upgrader service starts the silent installation of the client and informs customer about the progress. Once the upgrade is finished, the upgraded SAP Business One client will be started automatically.
    2. Automatic update:
       - Update the client automatically (e.g. overnight) if customer is not working with SAP Business One
       - If SAP Business One client is running, ask customer if he/she wishes to upgrade the client now or to delay the upgrade by X minutes.
Question: Which of the above two scenarios would you and your customers prefer?
If the upgrade is fully silent, automated and handled by the upgrader service, Is it acceptable for customers to trigger the installation manually and wait till the client is upgraded? Or would they prefer to have the client updated for them e.g. overnight so they can immediately start to work?
    Best regards

  • Know more detail about the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One ?

SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP. Let’s have a quick look what update is planned for RSP in version 9.1:
Enhancements planned in Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One 9.1
RSP is planned to support both SAP Business One on Microsoft SQL Server as well as SAP Business One on HANA Database
RSP Processes and Reports adapted to SAP HANA Database
With this plan RSP will help in the areas of Download, Installation, Go-Live Check, Monitoring, Upgrade and Support for SAP Business One both   on SQL Server and HANA.
But like me (non-SAP B1 Consultant) many of you have the question what is RSP and how it helps in support? Here I have tried to gather all information.
What is Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One?
The remote support platform for SAP Business One is designed to protect a SAP Business One installation by providing automated and remote support in a high-volume business.
The platform monitors the entire SAP Business One environment. By significantly reducing the time between the appearance, identification, and resolution of issues, the remote support platform for SAP Business One minimizes the impact on customer databases and processes.
Some Key Features of Remote Support Platform:
Showing alerts to SAP B1 Admin about the events which require their attention, such as low disk space, database backups, etc.
Incident Reports against the issues identified which require attention of SAP Support
Company Database Backup and Restore options
Regular fixes of Company Database inconsistencies
Check, Download and Install regular updates in SAP Business One
Upload Logs and required files to SAP Support or to Partner Support on regular basis
Some details about RSP Backup Management
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups
Perform differential and full database backups
    Back up transaction logs
Back up files to shared folders on a network
    System Status Report through RSP
From June 1st 2013, it will be mandatory to install, configure and upload the System Status Report (SSR) from Remote Support Platform (RSP) for SAP Business One in order to receive support for messages of a technical nature (upgrades, performance & crashes, etc).
    Database uploads only via RSP
From June 1st 2013 SAP Business One Support will only accept database uploads to SAP via remote support platform for SAP Business One. In certain exceptional circumstances STFP may be used but this will constitute a minority of cases.
    Microsoft Windows PowerShell Scripting
In the remote support platform studio, you can create tasks using Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting. PowerShell enables you to perform remote administrative tasks on customers’ Microsoft Windows operating systems, by providing full access to Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).Some Network Prerequisite for RSP
To achieve the internet connection test, you must allow port 80 for the RSP external communication
Disabling antivirus firewall or add the RSP to the trusted zone of the antivirus
    Set the correct proxy
Disabling Windows firewall in the TP_link Wireless Configuration Utility
