ORA-26744: STREAMS capture process "STRING" does not support "STRING"

Hi All,
I have configured oracle streams using Note "How To Setup One-Way SCHEMA Level Streams Replication [ID 301431.1]" at schema level
All the changes are getting reflected perfectly and was running smooth, but today suddenly I faced the below error and capture is aborted
ORA-26744: STREAMS capture process "STREAM_CAPTURE" does not support "AMSATMS_PAWS"."B_SEARCH_PREFERENCE" because of the following reason:
ORA-26783: Column data type not supported
Couple of suggestions on forum are to add a negative ruleset, please suggest me how do i add a negative rule set and if this is added to negative ruleset then how the changes to this table will reflect in target database...?
Please help me...
Thanks

I do not have any idea why it treats your XMLTYPE stored as CLOB like a XMLTYPE binary. From the doc, we read :
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28321/ap_restrictions.htm#BABGIFEA
Unsupported Data Types for Capture Processes
A capture process does not capture the results of DML changes to columns of the following data types:
    *       SecureFile CLOB, NCLOB, and BLOB
    *      BFILE
    *      ROWID
    *      User-defined types (including object types, REFs, varrays, and nested tables)
    *      XMLType stored object relationally or as binary XML                   <----------------------------
    *      The following Oracle-supplied types: Any types, URI types, spatial types, and media types
A capture process raises an error if it tries to create a row LCR for a DML change to a column of
an unsupported data type. When a capture process raises an error, it writes the LCR that caused
the error into its trace file, raises an ORA-26744 error, and becomes disabled. For your support
NOTE:556742.1 - Extended Datatype Support (EDS) for Streams
to exclude the table:
NOTE:239623.1 - How To Exclude A Table From Schema Capture And Replication When Using Schema Level Streams Replication
Sound like a specific patch. You did not stated which version of Oracle you are running.

    You are posting in the "icloud on my mac" forum, but your profile mentions Windows.  If using a mac, you need to have iphoto or aperture installed in order to receive new photos via photo stream.  If using windows, try posting in the iCloud on a PC forum.  You'll get better help there.

  • Error: ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist

    Hi there folks. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
    Anyways, we have a 10.2.0.4 rac primary and a 10.2.0.4 standby physical standby. We recently did a switchover and the dgbroker files automatically got created in the Oracle_home/dbs location of the primary. Now need to move these files to the common ASM DG. For this, I followd the steps from this doc:
    How To Move Dataguard Broker Configuration File On ASM Filesystem (Doc ID 839794.1)
    The only exception to this case is that I have to do this on a Primary and not a standby so I am disabling and enabling the Primary(and not standby as mentioned in below steps)
    To rename the broker configuration files in STANDBY to FRA/MYSTD/broker1.dat and FRA/MYSTD/broker2.dat, Follow the below steps
    1. Disable the standby database from within the broker configuration
    DGMGRL> disable database MYSTD;
    2. Stop the broker on the standby
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start = FALSE;
    3. Set the dg_broker_config_file1 & 2 parameters on the standby to the appropriate location required.
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_config_file1 = '+FRA/MYSTD/broker1.dat';
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_config_file2 = '+FRA/MYSTD/broker2.dat'
    4. Restart the broker on the standby
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start = TRUE
    5. From the primary, enable the standby
    DGMGRL> enable database MYSTD;
    6. Broker configuration files will be created in the new ASM location.
    I did so but when I try to enable the Primary back I get this:
    Error: ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist
    Configuration details cannot be determined by DGMGRL
    Form this link,(Errors setting up DataGuard Broker it would seem that I would need to recreate the configuration....Is that correct ? If yes then how come Metalink is missing this info of recreating the configuration... OR is it that that scenario wouldnt be applicable in my case ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Yes I can confirm from the gv$spparameter view that the changes are effective for all 3 instances. From the alert log the alter system didnt throw u pany errros. I didnt restart the instances though since I dont have the approvals yet. But I dont think thats required.

  • ORA-22160: element at index name does not exist

    hi
    i have a procedure which insert values from a VARRAY type in a table. My question is how can i verify the existence of nth element before inserting to avoid ORA-22160: element at index name does not exist
    Here is my code:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY CANDIDE.PE_CL IS
    PROCEDURE p_proc(Id_clt IN P_CLIENT.id_client%TYPE,
    nameClt IN P_CLIENT.nameclient%TYPE,
    --VARRAY type
    priceItem IN price_array,
    --VARRAY type
    nameItem IN item_array) IS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO P_CLIENT VALUES (Id_clt, nameClt);
    FORALL i IN nameItem.FIRST .. nameItem.LAST
    INSERT INTO P_ITEMS VALUES (Id_clt, nameItem(i), priceItem(i));
    END;
    end PE_CL;
    Product version: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0
    Peter

    I see the problem now. If there are more values in one varray or the other, how do you want to handle it? Below I have demonstrated, first the solution that I previous offered, that would only insert the rows where there are values from both varrays. In the second example below, I have inserted a null value in place of the missing value from the varray that has fewer values.

    Old dev box needed to be upgrade with 64 bit hardware. We did a fresh installation and done all the technical configuraiton. Imported SLD , IR,ID , Runtime value mapping . All scenario working fine after migration except one particular scenari which involves SOAP Web service .
    Our scenario is Extern system send SOAP call to PI  - BPM_SYNC_ASYnc_process --> BPM Proxy_send
    this BPM proxy_send   to ECC R/eceiver at R/3
    We are getting the following error after migraiton. Please help

    Is there any other Configuration to be done at the Abap side part from BPE_XI_customising (Automatic customising) done as part of the post installation steps .
    Wondering any other configuration needs to be done at the ABAP side (as BPE is running on the ABAp stack) to resolve this.

    HI
    After creating Master recipe in C201, under the operations tab you need to define the operations involved in recipe . along with the operation column  there is phase indicator column is there which is to be selected whether this operation is phase or not...

  • ORA-34492: Analytic workspace object __XML_GET_FULLTOAW_NAME does not exist

    Hi,
    We are experiencing the following error when trying to retrieve data from the OLAP layer in our front-end:
    ORA-34492: Analytic workspace object __XML_GET_FULLTOAW_NAME does not exist.
    to be more specific, the following happens:
    We are using the Oracle OLAP Java api's to query the analytical workspace. We create a Source object that contains the joins we want. This source is prepared and committed via the TransactionProvider class. Via the DataProvider we then create an SQLCursorManager and generate the SQL and execute it via JDBC.
    We were able to execute it without problems on an XP development platform. When switching to another platform that we use, it gives the following error messages:
    (platform with the error is Linux x86-64; more version info further down)

    Hi Keith,
    Yesterday I actually fully rebuilt/redeployed the AW. (I only patched our 10.2.0.3 installation with the OLAP A patch very recently.) Even the AW's tablespace was recreated, just to make sure everything was gone. Redeployment of the OLAP objects from OWB control center went without any problems.
    Let me answer your questions one by one below.
    1) How did you build the AW?
    We use OWB. The only thing I used AWM for is to actually create the AW. Once created, I use OWB to design and deploy. The front-end developers use AWM sometimes for viewing data in the OLAP objects. (I use OWB or AWM for that.)
    2) Can you connect to the AW via AWM, if so can you use the Data Viewer option to view:
    a) each dimension and check you can drill up and down.
    b) each cube
    I have been playing around a bit with the dim's and cubes in the AWM by right-clicking and selecting view data ... (that's the data viewer option?) and encountered no problems.
    3) You are using the OLAP API directly, what sort of application are you building - Java Client, JSP, Applet and are you using BI Beans?
    We are building a JSP type application, but so far only servlet code is being executed as the failure occurs on issuing the query. We are not using BI BEans.
    Thanks for your feedback!
    grts,
    Ed

  • Migration from 9i to 11g Transparent Gateway results in a) ORA-12704: character set mismatch b) ORA-02070: database ... does not support SYS_OP_C2C in this context

    Migration from 9i to 11g Transparent Gateway results in a) ORA-12704: character set mismatch b) ORA-02070: database ... does not support SYS_OP_C2C in this context
    What Transparent Gateway (TG) 11g configuration steps prevent the following errors?:
    a) ORA-12704: character set mismatch
    b) ORA-02070: database <DB_link_name> does not support SYS_OP_C2C in this context
    Hints:
    The current 9i TG works with the existing views and packages.  These same db objects will not compile using the new 11g TG.
    The db objects are on an Oracle 10g database linked to an SQL Server 2008 R2 database.
    Since the 9i TG works I assume a configuration to the 11g TG will get it working same as before.  But what...
    Is is something controlled by these parameters?  (Sorry, I don't know how this stuff works.  I'm the application developer.  My DBAs setup the Transparent Gateways.):
      Parameters in the Gateway Startup Shell script:
        ORA_NLS33
        NLS_LANG
      Parameters in the initsid.ora file:
        HS_LANGUAGE
        HS_NLS_DATE_FORMAT
        HS_NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE
    I'm avoiding the known workaround to refactor the VIEWS and PACKAGES to contain CAST() statements to explicitly match the data types.  A server side fix to the 11g TG is preferred.
    Sample code:
    a) ORA-12704: character set mismatch
       ... is caused by SQL that works with my 9i TG but not with my 11g TG.  It's a snippit from my view that won't compile:
                      select status_code                  -- Oracle VARCHAR2(30)
                      from   ora_app_interfaces
                     UNION
                      select "StatusCode" as status_code  -- SQL Server NVARCHAR(30)
                      from   SqlAppInterfaces
       Example workaround that I'm avoiding:
                      select status_code
                      from   ora_app_interfaces
                     UNION
                      select CAST("StatusCode" as VARCHAR(30)) as status_code
                      from   SqlAppInterfaces
    b) ORA-02070: database <DB_link_name> does not support SYS_OP_C2C in this context
       A line of code in the procedure that compiles correctly but fails to execute:
               -- Insert into SQL Server from Oracle
               insert into PatientMedRecNum (
                  "PatID",         -- SQL Server INT
                  "MedRecNum",     -- SQL Server NVARCHAR(11)
                  "Hospital")      -- SQL Server NVARCHAR(30)
               values (
                  pi_pat_id,       -- Oracle NUMBER
                  pi_med_rec_num,  -- Oracle VARCHAR2
                  pi_hospital);    -- Oracle VARCHAR2
    I'd guess the errors are caused by the TG's implicit conversion between the Oracle VARCHAR2 and the SQL Server NVARCHAR... but this works fine on the 9i TG... how do I set it up to work on the 11g TG?
    Thanks!

    Trace of 11g TG... generating errors due to lack of automatic mapping from SQL NVARCHAR to Oracle NVARCHAR, where the previous 9g TG mapped from SQL NVARCHAR to Oracle VARCHAR2.

  • ORA-12060: shape of prebuilt table does not match definition query

    Oracle version: 11G Release 2
    When Iam trying to create a Materialized view with on prebuilt table syntax I am facing the below issue.
    Create table sample_table as select col1,col2,col3 from sample_view;
    table created.
    Create Materialized view sample_table on prebuilt table refresh complete on demand as
    select col1,col2,col3 from sample_view;
    I am getting the below exception
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-12060: shape of prebuilt table does not match definition query
    12060. 00000 - "shape of prebuilt table does not match definition query"
    *Cause:    The number of columns or the type or the length semantics of a
    column in the prebuilt table did not match the materialized
    view definition query.
    *Action:   Reissue the SQL command using BUILD IMMEDIATE, BUILD DEFERRED, or
    ensure that the prebuilt table matches the materialized view
    definition query.
    How to resolve this issue?

    SQL> create table sample_table as
      2  select owner, table_name, tablespace_name
      3  from dba_tables
      4  where rownum < 11;
    Table created.
    SQL> Create Materialized view sample_table on prebuilt table refresh complete on demand as
      2  select owner, table_name, tablespace_name
      3  from dba_tables;
    Materialized view created.What issue?
    Which leads me to ask what version of Oracle you have because we don't know.
    SELECT *
    FROM v$version;

  • ORA-29540: class oracle/xquery/OXQServer does not exist

    I'm running 10g and initially had a problem when running XMTABLE that the error :-
    "identifier 'SYS.DBMS_XQUERYINT' must be declared"
    came up when I tried to execute anything relating to XQUERY
    One of our DBAs very kindly looked into this and found the script :-
    "$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/initxqry.sql"
    This was executed, but now I get the error :-
    ORA-29540: class oracle/xquery/OXQServer does not exist
    Does anyone know what I am still missing out?
    Thanks in anticipation of any advice anyone can offer

    Thanks mdrake, we seem to gradually be getting there.
    One thing I've now come across is :-
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleSQLException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PLS-00201: identifier 'DBMS_LOB' must be declared
    O
    This is a "demo" trigger that caused this problem :-
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER xml_inbox_trigger AFTER INSERT ON xmlinbox
    FOR EACH ROW
    DECLARE
    XMLRECORD XMLType;
    BEGIN
    XMLRECORD := :new.XMLDATA;
    INSERT INTO all_children
    (childname) VALUES
    (extractvalue (XMLRECORD, '*/child/name'));
    IF :new.xmlfilename like 'boys%' THEN
    INSERT INTO boys
    (childname) VALUES
    (extractvalue (XMLRECORD, '*/child/name'));
    END IF;
    IF :new.xmlfilename like 'boys%' THEN
    INSERT INTO boys_wishlist SELECT
    childname , artno , description ,price FROM
    XMLTABLE (
    '*/child' passing XMLRECORD
    columns
    childname varchar2(25) path '/name'
    , artno number path '/wishlist/artno'
    , description varchar2(25) path '/wishlist/description'
    , price varchar2(10) path '/wishlist/price'
    END IF;
    IF :new.xmlfilename like 'girls%' THEN
    INSERT INTO girls
    (childname) VALUES
    (extractvalue (XMLRECORD, '*/child/name'));
    END IF;
    END;
    Do you think the above error is caused by something wrong with the above code, or something else wrong with our installation??
    Thank you so much for your continued assistance

  • APEX installation failed. ORA-01917: user or role 'FLOWS_FILES' does not...

    Hey All,
    The following environment:
    - RedHat Enterprise Linux AS Update 4
    - Oracle DB EE 10.2.0.1.0
    - OHS 10.1.2.0.0 (Standalone Companion CD)
    * No errors with any of the installs. All working order.
    Application Express 2.2 installation:
    When I ran apexins.sql and passed the following six arguments in the order shown:
    @apexins password adde addeData TEMP /i/ NONE
    I noticed the following set of errors in the error logs:
    grant connect, resource to flows_files
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01917: user or role 'FLOWS_FILES' does not exist
    ... and it goes on and on about the user/role.
    After post installation tasks have been completed, visits to
    http://hostname.domain:port/pls/apex
    result in the following error being displayed:
    wwv_flow.app_not_found_footer_err
    wwv_flow.err      wwv_flow.app_not_found_err
    *Note: My URL shows
    http://hostname.domain:port/pls/apex/apex
    Any ideas or suggestions? I am afraid I have a necessary database account locked, the documentation is off, or I have misconfigured a necessary step.
    Thanks!
    Daniel Nguyen

    You should also double check that the tablespace named addeData actually exists in your database. If it does not, the FLOWS_FILES user will not be created, and that will result in a failed installation.
