Oracle DB   ---- mdb

Hi all!
Can i get the data Form oracle database file to Microsoft Access ( mdb file)?
if yes, then please tell me how does it possible?
Thanks
Rana

Hi Rana,
As Syed Jaffar said earlier mail, physical files cannnot be imported to access from oracle like *.dmp or *.dat or *.sql etc, but it is definitly possible to import table from oracle to access through ODBC connectivity one single table at a time or you write a script in Access to import all neccessary table at a stretch.

  • How to get Query Names in webi Report ??

    Hello All,
    I'm trying to pull data from different data sources like accdb,Oracle,DB2,MDB,xls files . I pulled the data successfully by merging all queries.But I was stuck with getting the query names in report ...can some one guide me in this ?? I used data provider () but getting 1 query name along with my universe name.
    thanks in advance,
    Lavanya.

    Hi Lavanya,
    Are you interested to know the data sources of the queries or just the query names?
    To know the Query Name, you can use DataProvider( ) function; however, in case you wish to know the data source, you can use Connection( ) function.

  • Trouble context in SQLJ (please help)

    Hi,
    I have a problem using "Oracle JDeveloper" as tool to compile sqlj programs.
    I have created a connection conn and I want to use this connection with a context. This is the code that I have writed:
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import sqlj.*;
    import oracle.sqlj.runtime.*;
    import java.util.Vector;
    import sqlj.runtime.*;
    import java.math.*;
    import sqlj.runtime.ConnectionContext;
    public class Sqlj2 {
    public static Connection getConnection1() throws Exception {
    String driver = "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver";
    String url = "jdbc:Odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=c:/Oracle/Progetto.mdb";
    String username = ";UID=Roberto;";
    String password = "PWD=prova";
    Class.forName(driver); // load MySQL driver
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url+username+password);
    return conn;
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    Connection connection1 = null;
    try {
    connection1 = getConnection1();
    #sql context Ctx1;
    Ctx1 context = new Ctx1(connection1);
    #sql [context] { SELECT id_dip,nome_dip,budget FROM Dipartimento WHERE budget > 1000 };
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.exit(1);
    } finally {
    try {
    connection1.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    In particular this peace of code give me a trouble:
    Ctx1 context =  new Ctx1(connection1);
    The word "Ctx1" is always red in JDeveloper!!!! I think I import all the classes that I need....
    How can I solve this problem?
    Can you try to run this code to look if the text is red in your compiler?
    Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks!!!

  • How can I export a Oracle DB table or a Query Result to an mdb (MS Access) File ?

    Hi,
    I would like to export a particular table or a particular data subset (result from a SQL query) to a MDB file, I tried with Oracle SQL Developer but I cannot see mdb as a possible export option.
    How can I do to export data to a mdb file ? I'm currently using SQL Developer on GNU/Linux, can you suggest me a link or a tool to do such things ?
    I consider an acceptable solution also to use SQL Developer to export data in a certain format and then use another software to open that format and create an mdb. What do you suggest ?

    Open the (an) MS Access database and:
    1) Click on File -> Link tables -> Select ODBC Database(s)
    2) On popup window select (or create new) "Machine Data Source" -> Oracle Driver -> Select the TNS alias (service name)
    Good luck!

  • Issue with lock file in Oracle 10g app server - MDB not running

    Hi,
    I have Oracle 10g & MQ 6 on my laptop. I generated JNDI bindings for app server-MQ by giving ip address of my machine first. Then i changed it to "localhost" & generated new set of .bindings file.
    With this new set i am able to send messages from my program to a queue. I also have an MDB which should listen to the same queue.
    However now my mdb is not listening to the queue & i suspect it is due to host address change, - because each time i start the server, i see a lock file created "OracleASRouter_store.lock" - under j2ee\home\persistance. And below is the content of the same -
    "O10.1.4.245:/C:/Program Files/Oracle/oc4j_extended_101330/j2ee/home/persistence/"
    As per few suggestions on this site, I deleted this file & restated app server, deleted whole content of persistance folder, restarted app server. But each time i see this file created and also see the ip address in log.xml under j2ee\home\log\oc4j
    Error message in this log.xml file is

    Line # 127 is creating a new application object using ApplicationFactory.
    ApplicationFactory aFactory =
    (ApplicationFactory) FactoryFinder.getFactory(
    FactoryFinder.APPLICATION_FACTORY);
    application = aFactory.getApplication();
    The only way that can throw a null pointer is when aFactory is NULL. I really doubt this case because, the same thing is doen in init() of FacesServlet. If it had failed there, the exception should have occured during server startup.
    This leaves me more and more confused....I am desperate for some help now :((

  • What are the steps involved in subscribing to an Oracle AQ via Weblogic MDB

    Hi,
    we are developing an event notification application and are planning to use Oracle AQ for message propagation, from Oracle DB(oracle 9i) to an application in WLS (Version 9.2). I couldn't find any tutorial or documentation on how to subscribe a MDB in weblogic to a Queue in AQ.
    if any available please kindly reply to this posting.
    thanks,
    prakash

    It is great news that Oracle WebLogic server will support AQ out-of-box in the near future. It is probably the top synergy to be achieved as part of ORCL's acquisition of BEAS, if you ask me :-)
    My curiosity of integrating WLS and AQ started in May of 2003, when I decompile and changed a few AQ-JMS internal Q and QCF classes to make them play nice in WLS. I uploaded my code at BEA's dev2dev JMS discussion forum. Subsequently Diptanshu Parui took it to another level when he published his enhancements in 2005, which is reference in Tom's post. However, I never was able to got my co-workers to buy into the concept though - until today we are still using a polling mechanism to turn records written in an event table by triggers into JMS messages. It works well, but adds another moving part. Native AQ support in WLS will make our lives so much easier.
    BTW Tom - glad to see you continue to help folks in this new forum!

    Where is my problem? Please help. Thanks in advance!

    That's the problem. DG4ODBC on 64bit Windows is 64bit and thus it also requires a 64bit ODBC driver.
    If you don't find one - maybe you can install DG4ODBC 32bi on a 32bit platform (please do NOT install it on the 64bit Windows machine) and then use this 32biit DG4ODBC with the 32bit ODBC driver.
    Another option would be to purchase a commercial ODBC driver or a bridged ODBC driver.

  • Oracle 10g AS 10.1.3 cluster : Topic MDB does not receive messages

    Dear experts,
    We have the latest Oracle 10g AS 10.1.3 cluster, which consists of two nodes.
    Background: Our application is a J2EE app extensively using JMS for communicating notifications between cluster nodes. It does work fine in standalone OC4J, clustered WebLogic and clustered SAP WebAS.
    Application is deployed without any errors to Oracle AS. It works fine with 1 cluster node, it 'half' works when second node is added.
    The cluster does recognize both nodes - we can administer and see them fine from the console.
    The problem application experiences is this:
    1. The application MDBs do not seem to receive any messages sent from another node. Only messages submitted from the same JVM are ever seen. This leads to incosistency in server caches.
    2. JNDI tree updates made from one node are also not visible on the other and vice versa.
    We tried it on a single physical server with 2 App Server instances and on 2 physical servers.
    I followed standard instructions on how to configure clustered environment - basically all we could do after we installed two instances was we turned on the PEER clustering for our application.
    Firewalls are also turned off on both servers.
    I would really appreciate any piece of advice because we're really stuck at this point!
    Thank you!

    Hi Peter,
    Can you just install 10.1.3 on top of another AS installation?You can't install an Oracle Application Server on top of another version. The 10.1.3 install needs to have its own Oracle Home. However, you can configure a 10.1.3 install to use OHS 10.1.2 and to use OID 10.1.2 as its identity management store.
    Can you install 10.1.3 standalone?Absolutely. You can download it from:

  • Problem integrating Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7 with MDBs

    All:
    I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
    Background:
    - We are using Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7
    - I have an MDB that receives a message, then in the onMessage(Message) method
    performs a findByPrimaryKey(String).
    Problem:
    The deployment descriptors and the MDB all work fine when I set them up to query
    against a Pointbase database and deploy to Weblogic. Everything worked fine. But
    this was only a test to see if everything would work.
    I now need to query against an Oracle database. I got the updated version of the
    Oracle Thin Driver and put it in the WL_HOME/server/lib/classes12.zip file. I
    even added it to the beginning of the classpath in the startWeblogic.cmd file.
    But am still having problems.
    To test the just the Oracle connection I double checked the user, password, URL,
    and driver settings in a java file using JDBC connections - and they worked fine.
    They just aren't working when integrated into Weblogic.
    The problem lies in the Weblogic 7 server integration with Oracle 9i. The software
    integrated fine when tables from a Pointbase database were queried. The only changes
    made have been to make the connectivity to Oracle.
    My errors are in the attached myserver.log file. If anyone knows if this is a
    known problem or what the problem is please let me know.
    Just FYI my settings are as follows:
    Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.6.10:1521:proType1
    user=protype1
    password=protype1
    Any advice is welcomed! I've tried everything I can think of.

    [myserver_errors.txt]

    Hi Angela
    you can try the following parameters in the FileRealm.properties to set
    acl.reserve.weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.<connectionPool>=everyone
    Thomas
    Angela Biche schrieb:
    Thanks, I set the initial pool count to 2 and have up to 10

    The error that I am getting is an SQLException:
    Exception = Access not allowed
    But when I ran the java utils.dbping it makes the connection
    with the connection and driver parameters I enter in the console.
    I'm still open to ideas on this! :)

  • MDB not responding after Oracle AQ restart

    I’ve created a Message Driven Bean, which I’ve deployed to a OC4J container listening to a point to point Oracle AQ.
    The bean works as expected until I stop and then start the database AQ (i.e. disable enqueue and dequeue via the management console or PL/SQL). Once the queue has been restarted the bean no longer receives any messages from the AQs. If I subsequently restart the container the MDB starts to process the messages from the queue.
    I have deployed this application using two environments (Windows 2000) and Sun Solaris 64 [both running version 10g 9.0.4 of the OC4J container and a 9.2.0.4 database) ] however the application behaves exactly the same on either platform.
    Is this the correct container/database behaviour or is this a bug.

    I seem to able to get to it. FYI, I culled this from that doc:
    These parameters are attributes of the <message-driven-deployment> element, as shown in the following example:
    <message-driven-deployment name="MessageBeanTpc"
    connection-factory-location=

  • How to convert the MS access *.mdb files to Linux oracle?

    Dear all,
    I got a MS Access *.mdb file which has several tables inside
    it. We will like to convert this file into our new oracle
    database of Linux. How should I do to accomplish the converting
    task?
    null

    A third way to convert Access to Oracle is to setup ODBC on the
    client PC which has the access databases.
    Start Access and open the database to the Table view.
    For each table:
    Chose File -> Save As/Export... -> External File or DB -> ODBC
    Enter the table name for the table in Oracle (case used to be a
    problem -- you may have to try uppercase or lowercase)
    Choose the Oracle ODBC driver and login to the Oracle DB.
    Should show you a progress bar while the data goes in.
    You can get the client side Oracle stuff by downloading a trial
    NT server or some other trail software. ODBC drivers are free.
    As I understand it, the Access migration assistant will bring
    across more than just the tables.
    You should probably bring across the data into some temporary
    tables first, then create your real tables and copy across the
    data. That way you can fix things that were broken in the Access
    version.
    Cheers,

  • Error connecting WLS 10.3.1 JMS & MDBs with Oracle Advanced Queuing

    I followed the guide at http://blogs.oracle.com/imc/2010/12/how_to_use_oracle_aq_with_message-driven_beans_in_weblogic.html. Since the AQ queues were already set up by SAs and had been working with stateless session beans, I assume they're OK for use with MDBs. Names had to be changed in the WLS foreign server definition, destinations & connection factories to match.

    </message-driven-descriptor>
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    So when I deploy this to my test domain I get an error:
    <Feb 23, 2011 3:11:28 PM CST> <Warning> <EJB> <BEA-010061> <The Message-Driven EJB: TestQueueListenerEJB is unable to connect to the
    JMS destination: TestQueue. The Error was:
    Can not get destination information. The destination JNDI name is TestQueue, the provider URL is null>
    The test connection of the datasource is successful.
    What else could I have wrong? This is my first post to this topic. Please let me know what additional information I need to provide about this. Or if I've provided too much.
    Thanks very much,
    Jim Greetham

    OK. So I got my DBAs to create a new user with the necessary privs. Created a new queue, table, etc. I have been able to receive messages from it. So I have some looking to do in my production database queue definitions.

  • Problem integrating Oracle 9i, Weblogic 7.0, and MDB

    (REFORMATTED??)
    All:
    I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
    Background:
    - We are using Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7
    - I have an MDB that receives a message, then in the onMessage
    (Message) method performs a findByPrimaryKey(String).
    Problem:
    The deployment descriptors and the MDB all work fine when I set
    them up to query against a Pointbase database and deploy to
    Weblogic. Everything worked fine. But this was only a test to
    see if everything would work.I now need to query against an
    Oracle database.
    I got the updated version of theOracle Thin Driver and put it in
    the WL_HOME/server/lib/classes12.zip file. I even added it to
    the beginning of the classpath in the startWeblogic.cmd file.But
    am still having problems.
    To test the just the Oracle connection I double checked the
    user, password, URL,and driver settings in a java file using
    JDBC connections - and they worked fine.They just aren't working
    when integrated into Weblogic.
    The problem lies in the Weblogic 7 server integration with
    Oracle 9i. The softwareintegrated fine when tables from a
    Pointbase database were queried. The only changes made have been
    to make the connectivity to Oracle.
    My errors are in the attached myserver.log file. If anyone knows
    if this is aknown problem or what the problem is please let me
    know.Just FYI my settings are as follows:
    Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.6.10:1521:proType1
    user=protype1
    password=protype1
    Any advice is welcomed! I've tried everything I can think of.

    Hi. Show me your pool definition, and the standalone code that makes a good
    JDBC connection with the driver you want to use. I assume you've
    verified that the driver you want to use comes before any weblogic
    stuff in the classpath for the server.
    It seems the pool was configured with zero initial capacity, and is being
    asked to create connections at runtime. I would make the pool make all it's
    connections at startup. This is faster and more stable, and will also narow
    the problem down to the pool not booting until we get the JDBC connections
    made.

  • Deploying MDB on BEA WebLogic 7.0 to listen to Oracle AQ

    Hello All:
    I have been tasked to create a MDB that will listen to a queue in AQ. What I am curious about, however, is if anyone has ever had any experience in configuring the WebLogic server so it can interface with, and listen to, AQ?
    I am going to create a concrete sender class to handle the transmission of messages inside the network, but the design goal, for scalability purposes, is to use a MDB to listen to the queue. We cannot use any Oracle Application Server or Web Server per my client's directives.
    Please help. Thanks.

    I am very interested in viewing your information on Oracle AQ and BEA 8.1 but the link you provided,
    http://marvel.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=17000:8:25148205767784132
    displays an error page with the following message:
    ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("DEVTRENDS"."WWC_ASK_QUESTION_ACCESS_LOG$"."DISPLAYID")
    I would really appreciate some help I have been hunting for documentation on how to access AQ from a Java. I am trying to write a JCA adapter for BEA WLS 8.1 to access the AQ for integration purposes.
    Thanks
