Oracle DRM Batch script with outputs and result codes

Any one can help me in adding Email notifications to DRM Batch scripts if action script or export failed.

Hi Aswartha,
There is no command within the DRM batch client to send emails. You will need to use a third party tool which can be called from the batch file to send emails. Below are the error codes details that you can use,
Error Level Value Description
0 Success
1 Unknown error
2 Batch operation completed but generated warnings
3 Batch operation did not complete due to error
100 Error communicating to or returned from the Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management Server
200 Error occurred during initialization of the Batch Client
210 An invalid parameter value was passed
220 Invalid URL
230 Invalid user name or password

Case created without business partner, reason code and result code

In our CRM system, some cases was created without business partner, reason code and result code.
We created some customer functions to make these fields as mandatory, it always work for our technique people and process expert, but it didn't work for some users occasionally. We cannot debug it.
Can anyone tell me why and how to solve it?
Please help me !

Hello Shirley,
Well, then I would check the code, which calls your custom function modules.
It may be possible, that you have an IF in the 'Main' program, which makes it possible to skip the custom FM for these users.
The reason I am assuming this, is that normally you need just to change attributes for a field to make it mandatory, or customizing like SHD0 makes this possible. If you use custom FM, you have to call them somewhere and this is the point I would be looking for.
Check the traces for the users and you should find, that the custom FM are not called for them.

MAC AE plugin: Bundle scripts with plugin and access for execution

Hi there,
as the title says I'm trying to execute some scripts from my plugin but I can't figure out how to get the plugins location to access the bundled resources. I'm pretty new to the plugin development so can sombody please point me in the right direction?
I found in the SDK guide the PF_GET_PLATFORM_DATA but there is no example that is using it.

I tried reading a text file that is bundled with the .plugin package without path but I had no luck. The structure within the package is like this (tree looks better with monospaced fonts):

So my result is always my error reading file.
I also tried using getcwd like this:

But ther i get a current working directory as: /private/tmp
So how did you manage to read files bundled with your plugin? Magic?
Maybe there is something else I missed.
- I added the files to my source directory.
- I went in xcode rightclick onto the project and selected "add files to PROJECTNAME"
- in the TRAGETS Tab for the project the file is under "Copy Bundle Resources"
- When building the plugin the file I want to read is within the .plugin package
What else could go wrong?
I could also create a script that escapes my script and creates an .h file with a string where I could read from, but this would feel like giving up and I'm not there yet.

Oracle Forms 11g SSO with OID and IAM

What versions of OID and Access Manager are required to get an Oracle Forms and Reports 11.1.1.2 application
on Weblogic 10.3.2 configured for Oracle SSO using OID authentication?
We want the OID to store and authenticate Users for username and password logins to the database, then
ultimately by user Certificate authentication in OID. I have OID 11.1.1.2 installed and SSO enabled for Forms
in Enterprise Manager.
Is Access Manager required for Forms SSO with OID authentication to work or just to allow user interaction
for registration and Password reset?
Things mention OAM 10.4.3 and others talk about IAM 11g for Forms 11.1.1.2 SSO to work with OID.
We did this back in Oracle Forms and OID 10g with JSP and LDAP to setup users but I understand 11g is
different and IAM can help or is required for this type of SSO to work.
Any help?

According to Oracle's certification matrix found at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11gr1certmatrix.xls, Oracle Forms 11.1.1.2 is not supported to use any Oracle Access Manager (OAM) version. OAM is a component of IAM. It is only supported with Oracle SSO 10.1.4.x. The best solution would be to upgrade the Forms and Reports environment to either 11gR2 (11.1.2.1) or to the latest 11gR1 patchset 11.1.1.7. Both versions are compatible with OAM 11.1.1.7.0 and OID 11.1.1.7.0 where only Forms 11gR2 (11.1.2.1) is compatible with OAM 11.1.2.0 and OID 11.1.1.7.0. That would be the best solution as we have ran into configuration problems in the past with using Oracle SSO 10.1.4.x.
Since OID 11.1.1.2.0 is already installed, you should be able to patch it up to 11.1.1.7.0.
For user authentication in OID, it is required to have OAM or Oracle SSO as both products use WebGate or mod_osso agents for authentication and authorization. For purposes of allowing end users to register accounts and password reset, you will either need to also install another IAM component called Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) or create a customized SSO login page that can be coded to perform these actions. I believe there are some examples available on the Internet.

Can I use Oracle 11g Developer tools with 10G and XE

Hi, I want to use Oracle 11g ODAC 11.1.0.6.21 with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio with 10g and Xe . Will there be any issues. I want to do so because I am not able to see Oracle Database project in Visual Studio when I install Oracle 10 g developer tools wherein I see that in Oracle 11g developer tools. Please suggest.

No there are no issues. Just be sure to install ODT in a separate location than where XE is installed.

UNIX scripting with id and password in clear text

I have a shell script to connect and do several PLSQL.
how can the script doing it without the ID password in cleartext?
i.e.

conn id/password ....

If you create an operating system authenticated user, you connect to the database without a password, i.e.
sqlplus / is sufficient (assuming the script is running as the appropriate operating system user). Tom Kyte talks about this here

Dyanamic table is SAP Script with horizontal and vertical lines

I need to display the data of the table in the SAP script which is having both horiziontal and vertival lines.
the out put needs to looks as it in Excel...where there are multiple records with 5 fixed coulmns each seprated from one another by horizonalt and vertical lines..
I thinking about useing the Box with XPOS and YPOS who value changes dynamicaaly..
But again as the number of pages might be more than one..i think there will issues,

well it is possible but quite tricky.
All you got in SAP-SCRIPT to achieve this is the BOX-Statement.
The BOX statement works with variables for XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH and HEIGHT. what you need to do is:
- calculate those variables during runtime
- add box-statements with those variables.
to calculate those variables you need to count used lines and so on. i hope i showed you a way, rest is a lil brainwork then.

Creating an executable script with vi and chmod

I have some after market packages I want to set up in my MBP Mavericks. I create a script file in iv called runada. It adds some directories to the global $PATH variable. I then change rights on the script, runada, with 'chmod a+x runada' so it becomes an execuitble. But it fails when I call runada within a shell terminal. I have seent his work in Debian I think.

As a guess: PATH needs to be exported if you want that setting to persist after the script modifies it and exits, or you'll need to "." or "source" invoke the script.
In any case, post a reproducer of the bash and somebody here can have a look.
Using homebrew is another approach to rolling your own packaging (if that's where you're headed here), and there are various alternatives to that.

rwdiag is a utility used to find all the Reports Servers on the network.
./rwdiag.sh -find <report server-name>
and it monitors packets broadcasted on the network by the particular Reports Server.

Yeah, this is so aggrevating!
Adobe builds all of these cool ideas, then doesnt test them.
The HTTPConnection object does not do POST at all. I have tried nearly every possibility. The documentation is either way off or the object just does not work. I can see the post in raw form and the POST variables are not coming across.
After working on this for a few hours i thought to myself, hey maybe i should just create a flash pane instead and load the files into it, then have the flash object upload. Well i ran into a big fat wall there too! As it is with patchpanel and bridge, these technologies only accept swf objects. This whole concept of using SWF and crossscripting has a huge flaw. The SWF file's security format does not allow for local file access for doing simple things like upload. If i can't synchronize file data to web based clouds, then i cant do much worth talking about.
I love these products and their possibilities but i have to have the ability to communicate with the world. HTTP is the way!
Also a side note, FTP is an insecure/inflexible solution and looks like a lot more time was spent on this aspect of the scriptable product.
PLEASE HELP ADOBE!!!!!

Timeout and Result Code 302 from Tuxedo

My WebLogic server has threads with Jolt connections timeout after ten minutes. The transactions get a result code 302 (Found. Temporarily moved) back from Tuxedo.
Why might I receive this result code? Why are the connections timing out?

Where are you seeing this "result code"? Typically if you get an error, an exception will be thrown. Is an exception being thrown and if so, what exception?

Thanx for the reply.bt the issue is like we have a condition type zvat where condition table have the following fields departure country and destination country,The country of our company code is GB and we maintain a record for condition type zvat i.e GB (departure country) to GB (destination country) 17.5%.While creating a contract if vat is applicable we told user to maintain country GB in both the fieds i.e tax departure country and tax destination country in billing tab at header level of the contract .It is working fine for other company where company code country is different then GB.But for this where company code country is GB.An error occurs i.e.There is no vat registration number fot this comapny code XXXX for country GB.
Now how should i go about it?

Need help with API and sample code for checking a user's rights on a folder

Hi All,
I am working on an UCM integration where user supplies a folderpath (ucm folders), and a file is later uploaded to this location.
Since a user can provide a folderpath where he has only Read Access or no access at all, we are trying to work out a way to pre-check his permissions on the folder.
Since we have Entity Security enabled, we have 5 security fields to rely on Account, Security Group, User Access List, Group Access List, Role Access List.
Writing custom code for this security check is second on our agenda.
Firstly, we wish to know the API and sample code that typically performs this Security Check in UCM.
We could find intradoc.shared.SecurityUtils which has methods to check security on SGroup and Account, but we couldn't find anything for:
1) Overall security check
2) ACL security check on top of sgroup and account security check

Any ideas anyone?!
I am looking forward to some pointers here. :(
