Howdy!
Does anybody has any experience with the sizing of the oracle e bussiness suite
We are on the way to implement it but I haven't find information related with the sizing
Does anybody has any infomartion related ?
per example
How many users can handle a cpu and what kind of cpu?
how much space in hard disk does I need per each model
any information will be useful

Sizing as follows - for 11i :
ON HP 9000/800 + HPUX 11 + Dual PA RISC 440 MHz + 2 G RAM
I run both PROD and TEST succesfully for 100 users
For one install you will need :
40 G of initial space => you will be in need for at least 70 G per installation for data growth in short term
You will need 1G ram
You will need processor for every 70 users

I did see the adgrants.sql after the patch installation and ran it, but AD patch had some errors. One of them about not being able to generate the jar files. I ignored it and chose to continue, thinking that I can generate them with adadmin utility later. Adadmin failed with the following error message:

When l looked it up in Metalink, I found this document

Would it be enough to upgrade it to version 1.4.2? Because the minimum patch levels for the other versions (J2SE 5.0 and 6) are much higher than what I have.

Hoe to solve "IE 8 stop working on Oracle E-bussiness suite ".

Oracle stop working on new IE 8 on Windows 7 . If using Windows XP no problem. Anyone know how to solve this error ?
The Error is running until after user login to the E-bussiness Suite , then user need to select other selection. Once select the selection then new window will pop up then the error message will show " Internet Explorer has stop working ".

Need help in creating script for "Task Schedule" in Oracle E-Bussiness Suit

Hi,
I need some urgent help regarding the scripting of Oracle E-Business Suite application. I am new towards working on Oracle Applications. I have been using LoadRunner 11.0 and protocol oracle applications 11i for the scripting of the application. The problem is as follows:
Scenario- Schedule an incident to a resource.
1) Log in to the application.
2) Open Oracle Forms Page.
3) Enter the details of the incident number.
4) Right click on the incident number and then select “schedule” option.
5) Check / Select the resource listed in the new form.
6) Click on “schedule” Button.
7) Exit the oracle forms.
8) Logout from the application.
I have recorded the scenario but when I try to run the script, it fails after completing the 4th step from the scenario mentioned above. I have done all the required co-relations..
Another issue that I have noticed in the scipt is that it records a lot of requests to the AppsTCFServer.
When I check the Tree View of the script, I have found that there are around 25 requests to the AppsTCFServer recorded in the script. In the header of these requests a TCF Start/Session number gets generated randomly. This number stays the same in few AppsTCFServer request headers and then a new number gets generated and the cycle continues.
However LoadRunner does not generate this number by itself during replay. I cannot find this number in any previous responses.
In the last few days, I have tried my hands on Oracle Openscript tool to record the above scenario, but still I am getting the same problem, i.e instead of getting the correct response from the server for the AppsTCFServer requests, I am getting the message "X-session 7098.... not found - aborting ".
I get this message whether I use LoadRunner tool or the OpenScript tool.
Please help me solve this issue.

This isn't much of a "code-sharing" site but a "knowledge-sharing" site. Code posted me may be from a questioner who has a problem / issue / error with his code. But we don't generally see people writing entire scripts as responses to such questions as yours. There may be other sites where you can get coding done "for free".
What you could do is to write some of the code and test it and, if and when it fails / errors, post it for members to make suggestions.
But the expectation here is for you to write your own code.

it is possible to use oracle e bussiness suite user name and password to login oracle BI PUBLISHER SERVER.??
we are using 11.1.1.6.0 OBIEE and R12 (12.0.6) e business suite.

Using "@" in a password for a DB User is not supported at all (allthough it works).
I did so myself once and I think it was possible to get a connection utilize quotes,

My be toy around with this, but more easy is to use brtools and change the

Oh, and for executing brtools, do not provide a user at all or only "-u /"
This should do a sysdba connect.

Calling OCS webservices from Oracle apps 9i database

Hi I want to know if there is any documentation on how to call OCS web services directly from 9i database on which our oracle E-Bussiness Suite 11.5.10 is running.
There is a metalink note on calling ocs java api using load java utility. I am not looking at this but I want to call directly web service( SOAP xml etc) from 9i PL/SQL. Where can I get more info on this? All I see is Java Web services API.

If OCS is completely supporting webservices, then Why are webservices are not exposed?

How to install E-bussiness suite with out creating the database?

We are planning to Migrate our Single node Tru64 E-bussines suit installation to multi node IBM-AIX (DB Node) and Sun Solaris(APPL_TOP)
We are thinking to follow below step
1) Install E-Bussines suit with out Oracle Database( Only Oracle DB sotware and Apps Filesystem need to be installed) -- IBM AIX (DB Node) & Sun Solaris (APPL_TOP)
2) Migrate current Oracle DB on Tru64 into IBM AIX using transportable Tablespace method
It is ok to follow this approach?

It is ok to follow this approach? 1) What about the patches you have applied since the time of the installation? Doing a fresh installation will not include these patches.
2) The supported method to migrate an Oracle Apps database between two Operating Systems which are not binary compatible is by using export/import. I believe transportable Tablespace has some limitations and would not work for such migration.

Can I able to develope Oracle EBS I-Module pages through ADF?

Now I am in the position of developing new Self Service Web Application module(I-Modules), which is going to be wired with Oracle E-Bussiness suite at last.
I know how to develope or custamize the Oracle Apps I-Module thru OAF. but now my client wants us to be develope that new module through ADF.The problem is now I dont know if I use ADF for oracle apps EBS module, then how to deploy the ADF files in to Oracle Apps.
because OAF and ADF package structure is entirely different. OAF is following Oracle Apps package structure. ADF is followoing standard J2ee package structure for VIEW and Controller part.
so please help any one to overcome to this problem. plz let me know how to deploy the ADF fiels in to Oralce Apps & how to wire it to EBS.

Thanks for your time and effort. But still I need more information about this issue Tapash.
1.     Can you please explain more about OAF future? Because my client believe within a year OAF is migrate with ADF, Is it true? So they select ADF for new Oracle Apps EBS custom I-module development.
2.     As per you advice if I select ADF to build extension application for EBiz suite, after development how can I wired this ADF application to Oracle Apps EBS?
3.     If it is OAF files I am create all View, Controller and Model files and then I moving my Model & Controller in to middle tire and deploying my View files (PG) in to MDS. Then through AOL I am creating new function for that PG and creating menu and user I am adding that menu to particular user.
4.     So if I create ADF pages, where to deploy my view and controller files in Oracle apps? (Of course my model files are same here like OAF, because my backend is database).
So please help me out in this issue.

Email notifications has guest username and pwd in body

Hi Guys
I have an issue and will need your advice.
I have just applied AD.i.7 on Oracle E-Bussiness Suite 11.5.10 and whenever i am applying some leaves.
One mail is sent to me and one to the approver.i get mail correctly hovewer the approver sees username (GUEST)and login page in the mail body.
Can someone help me.

Thanks for your advise.In fact Oracle Support also recommended me the same.
I have already set a plan to migrate to Family Pack K Rollup 3 and down the road I will have to apply the ATG_PF.H RUP6 that will resolve this issue.
However I cannot apply the AD.I.7 on Live with this bug and wait to apply ATG_PF.H RUP6 as it will take some time.
I am planning to uninstall the AD.I.7 and install the AD.I.6 and test this issue.(FYI..We did not get this issue with AD.I.5)
Can you please advise how I should proceed for the uninstallation of AD.I.7 and install the AD.I.6.Previous installed version was AD.I.6.
