Oracle Support Site Changed?
HI,
I used to be able to log in do advanced search for patches then choose my OS and version and product. Then it would list all the patches and have nice pdf's to view that had great information. Now I go there and I can't find anything. Specifically I'm looking for all the patches that have been released for Financial Reporting and Analysis for Windows Server 2008. I have reports where I have suppression on a bunch of Rows and it's not working. Thus need to know if it's a bug and if it's been patched in 11.1.2.1 as client just upgraded and now can't get suppression to work.
Anyone have these doc's or know how to find them on the new support.oracle.com site?
I think it is probably down to the level of access the account you are using has, I don't think you can search for patches with a basic level anymore, the patches are still all there as I can see them, if I log in with another account with less privileges I can't search the patches.

If you are looking for a old version, you had to open a SR in MOS, but if you want the newest, in oracle website (downloads) you can find it easily. -
Oracle Support ORA-4031 Troubleshooting Tool problem - FILE VALIDATION FAIL
Hi,
Having problem while trying to use ORA-4031 Troubleshooting Tool on the Oracle Support site.
I believe I upload all files correctly: db alert log, 4031 trace file and AWR report (HTML), answered YES to the question.
But, get this error:

My Oracle Support unbearable 1hour timeout : Sign up to ask Oracle removing
Dear All,
1) You might have noticed that a new one hour session timeout has recently appeared on My Oracle Support site.
This is unbearable as we need to click "Continue" all along the day especially when you have several sessions opened (Dashboard, OnDemand, knowledgebase, etc...).
If as me you would like to put pressure on Oracle to get rid of this new (non-)enhancement, please put your comments and sign up this post.
2) I would also like to know from other Oracle customers about the eight hours session timeout that automatically forces you to re-login.
I would also like push Oracle to increase timeout to ten or twelve hours as a working day lasts more than eight hours if you include lunch time.
Oracle Manager responsible for this My Oracle Support settings only suggest to logout and re-login during lunch time....
Please put also your comments about this very annoying session timeout setup.

For consumption/delivery, there is no requirement. That is entirely up to whoever is developing your Templates, as there is full control over the HTML/XML/JSON etc in the rendering of content so you can make the finished rendering suitable for all browsers or not, as your needs dictate.

My Oracle Support - always points me to changing my username?
Hi folks,
I just updated my Oracle Support login information to reflect a new username as per a new company/position I have acquired. However, every time I now go to log in to Oracle Support, it kicks me to "Change Username" page ... and there is no links on that page to go elsewhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, has "My Oracle Support" replaced "Metalink"? Its been a while since I've accessed this.

After spending several hours sorting out Canon Pixma OSX problems here are my thoughts:
Canon 860 Series (Pixma 868) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips
Problem:
- New imac and MacBook Pro 2012 (OSX 10.8.2) had a problem using Canon Pixma 868 printer on network and would not scan or print using Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print), which has advanced scanning and photo printing functions.
- When I connected the canon printer to my imac, OSX 10.8.2 automatically downloaded and installed drivers for Canon 860 series printer. I could then add the new printer (select ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”) and printer would work while connected via USB but could not get to print or scan over network wifi.
- The original Canon 860 Series CD does not work with 10.8 and the manual / online instructions did not make sense (as based on CD install).
Solution:
1) Install Canon Printer Drivers and Software (from official Canon site)
Go to canon support site, review FAQ, then download and install following Pixma 860 Series software & drivers for OSX 10.8 (links see below). The version I downloaded is in brackets but check for updated version. Full instructions are below.

If you have problems installing the software under 10.8, see the FAQ on Canon site. You will need to allow software installs from “unidentified developers by using “Control” Key or by changing your system preferences)
2) Check Canon Printer and Software Working while connected via USB
Once you have downloaded and installed drivers and software and restarted computer, check that the printer and Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print) are working via USB. Open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App) and make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it shows the correct SSID Wifi settings (under the Canon IJ Network Tool App ‘Setup menu’). This is normally done as part of the automatic install but worth double checking
3) Add new network printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”).
After you have checked USB printing turn off printer, unplug the USB cable and shutdown the Canon IJ Network Tool App.
Then turn the printer back on and wait 30s. Then add a new printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”). Once you select “+” (add new printer), wait 10-30s for the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer to appear in the new window eg Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) (Kind: “Canon IJ Network”)
DO NOT ADD THE MX 860 SERIES BONJOUR SCANNER (the Bonjour Scanner is the built-in software, is not needed and often appears first on the add printer list). The Canon scanner can be accessed used through the MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 software (which has much better functions)
You will now have two Printer Canon MX860 (USB) and Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network). Set the Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network) as default and test print and scan
If the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer does not appear, check the printer and make sure that the printer can see the wifi network. On the printer select Menu / Settings / Device Settings / Lan Settings / WLAN Setting List. It should say WLAN Active, identify the SSID and have an IP address
If the printer can not see the Wifi Network, plug the USB cable back in, then open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App). Make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it has your SSID settings (under setup), if it has this info, restart the computer and the printer and try againHi, thaks for response, meant to post as a discussion (not question), wanted to save others time if they get the same problem

Why are most of the links on Oracle's site that relate to Java broken? For example, try searching for SocketChannel and then clicking on any of the returned links, in particular click on www.oracle.com/technetwork/servers-storage/ts-4222-159193.pdf.
This is the second time I have tried to search for Java information and both times found broken links.

Language selection on support site partial impossible
Oh god, who had this idea with the language selection on Support and Download site?
Now i have purchased a wide screen-ThinkPad to reduce the horizontal scrolling but the new support site plays its own game.
If i want to select "United States English" i have no chance to see and select it:

The horizontal scrollbar appears as well as the language list after i clicked on "Germany -- Deutsch" at the top of the page.
The crazy "Feedback"-field in the lower right corner hides several languages to select.
If i move the cursor to the scrollbar the language list disappears. - Great, well done!
Why is it so difficult to use the visible part of the display? On the left hand there is more than the half screen size unused to display the language list!!
Please tell the web-programmer to test on a single - display ThinkPad!!!!! in the future but not with two displays and enlarged desktop or 21:9 display.

My ThinkPad-CollectionHei. This is not shown on the website, itself. It is like this only in the file manager /public_html/www directory on the server I use. There the downloaded files
have the titles of the pages without these vocals. I´ve send a request to the webhotel company I use and the only answer I´ve got was not to use these vocals.
This can´t be a solution. I had to change the title of the pages on iWeb, like from
interiørdesign to interiordesign, f.ex. but this isn´t the way the word is written in norwegian. I am afraid I am not visible in search enginees (google)in norway (which) is the market I adress, because of this.
I have lounged my site since april 2010 and still I don´t appear in a search even in the 20th page or something. -
Feed back needed about the Oracle support service request
Dear Oracle professional,
When you have an issues in the Oracle softwares while doing the installations or working funcnalities.
Is it good to get it touch with Oracle support services to get supports or Self efforts is good.
Some company's are feeling get supports is not good way of approach from the Oracle supports services.
Rather they would keep thier business on hold till they get the supports by themself.the daly will causes in to the business losses because of the time.
And their business production will be less.
By getting Oracle supports you get the solutions faster this helps to increase the productivities high.
Some IT Manages will like to play this role always find a solutions by themself and eaten up the time.
Why this is happending with them?
Any issues or eagostics with them?
Feel free to express it to me, i would be happy to hear this please.

So now a days companies which i have seen that they will have internal team of SMEs which will try to look into issues and there are certain escalation points from where in you will get some support from Oracle support.
and again this changes from organization to organization not a thumb rule.

Hi,
I opened a SEV 3 SR with Oracle Support a week ago (6/1 8am) and have yet to get any response whatsoever. Updated the SR on Monday asking for a response and none so far. This has happened a couple of times the last 6 months. I read the latest "Oracle Software Technical Support Policies" pdf on the Oracle Site and the SLA for SEV 3 SR is only mentioned under Priority Service and Priority Service Desk (both say 90% of SEV 3 service requests will be responded to within the next local business day) on pages 13 and 14. Apparently there is no SLA for SEV 3, only option is to have the Support admin upgrade to SEV 2 and pray.
Are there any other docs that outline what the SLAs are?

I wonder how other users feel about transition of support from Primavera to Oracle.
Here is some thought I have on it, I hope some of you can help me understand why it is as it is.
Contract*
We have huge problem with signing/renewing Support Contract. We've asked Oracle for quotation end of October and still did not receive any price offer. I've email to at least 7 Oracle employees, tried to escalate it but still - there is no offer in my inbox.
Perhaps our licenses setup is a bit strange for Oracle, but for Primavera it was fine - I have CM licenses in several offices divided into groups, in some offices I don’t need to update to CM13 (which is far too buggy to install it in offices which do not have in-house support). Also for other reasons I simply do not want to keep maintenance contract for all licenses.
Oracle uses License Sets that MUST contain all licenses of the same product and they want me to buy maintenance for all licenses, no matter if I use support for them or not.
Looks like they want to protect themselves from companies who will buy maintenance for one license and use it for 100 licenses? Well then why with CM13 they skipped concurrent users limit hardcoded in the application?
Well I don’t want to trash licenses of xx K $ worth! Since Primavera had it set up like that, why Oracle seats in and changes the rules without my knowledge and permit?
My Oracle Support*
I have feeling that there is less support now. SR's don’t get updated as often, information about updates of SR is giving wrong info. Email notification is not working in my case. SR history for some reason contains spam notifications of updating SR...
I miss the chat feature form POINT - initiate chat and get response the same hour...
After updating a SR there is some kind of confirmation msg that gets stuck under the window, very often I cannot update or read SRs due to numerous "network/IO/communication" errors.
I'm sorry but besides having a BUG list (finally!) i find My Oracle Support a well-dressed downgrade from POINT.
In general this post turned out pretty negative, which was not the intention. Hope some of you will post positive comments on Oracle Support.Hi people,
Well it looks like we all have problems. Although I can log into My Support, I cannot create new SRs. After 3 weeks of trying to get Oracle to do something about this they tell me it because thay don't have me registered on a valid Support Identifier, despite oracle giving me the number. My suspition is that somehow they have not updated the support contracts.
Anyhow, the result is that I con't get decent resolutions to my problems implementing CM version 13. As I'm downunder in New Zealand and am one of only 2 companies running CM we have little or no support here. I currently get most of my supprt through this forum.
I have started to look for alternative solutions as I am sick and tired of the lack of support.
