    System start at 23:00 p.m.

    Night 22:00 p.m 7:00 a.m
This monday dont switch operation mode night to day and disp+work get
    busy .
Nobody could access the system until it is manually reset.
    Can anybody help us?
    Regards.

    You have following options.
1 .try to adjust  the operation mode as example given below.
Add an additional operation mode Except  for the duration of backup .
    Example:
    7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. DAY (normal operation mode)
    7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. NIGHT (normal operation mode)
    3:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m. EXCEPT (Backup operation mode)
    4:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. NIGHT (exception operation mode)
2.See if you get and error message in sm21 after offline backup.
3.delete the operation mode and create new .
4.try to change the timings of day and night operation mode.
what is your OS and DB and Rel?
    hope it helps.

  • Error with Oracle temp file after Offline restore

    Hi,
I did a offline backup of my Oracle 9I database after shutting down the DB. After I restore the offline file system backup, I saw the following error in alter.log:
"ORA-01186: file 255 failed verification tests
ORA-01122: database file 255 failed verification check
    ORA-01110: data file 255: '/oracle/SED/sapdata1/temp_1/temp.data1'
ORA-01205: not a data file - type number in header is 0
File 255 not verified due to error ORA-01122"
When I did a query I got the following error :
    "SQL> select * from dba_temp_files;
    select * from dba_temp_files
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01187: cannot read from file 255 because it failed verification tests
    ORA-01110: data file 255: '/oracle/SED/sapdata1/temp_1/temp.data1'
I know how to recover it but Why is this so ? Is this normal when I restore the offline backup file including the temp.data1 ?
    Any reply is appreciated.
    Rgds,
    WP

    Because you did something wrong.
This is just one more brilliant laser beam example of why RMAN is the only tool that should be used for backup and recovery once you are on 9i or higher versions.

  • Rotate backup OFFLINE oracle / Win

    Class,
I do not have much knowledge with Oracle, and I'm wanting to do a HSC and need to create an offline backup.
Does anyone have any documentation on how to do an offline backup in Oracle and WINDOWS.
    thanks guys!

    Hi,
With the help of BRTools, the backup of DB's for SAP can be taken very easily
Login to the Server at the OS level as <SID>ADM user.
    Execute BRTools
4 - Backup and database copy
    1 = Database backup
2 - Backup device type (device) (specify disk/tape) If ur option is disk then u need to have enough space in <drive>:oracle\<SID>\sapbackup
    6 - Backup type (type) ............... [offline_force]
    c - cont
    1 - Confirmation mode (confirm) ....... [yes]
    c - cont
As u r going to take offline backup u need to have the DB shutdown and thus u need a downtime.

  • Cannot start weblogic server anymore in oracle user after config. in root

    Hi all,
My weblogic server 10.3.4.0 installed in oracle developer days in oralce linux guest was able to start before using the oracle user account. However, after I copied a folder into the autodeploy directory in weblogic server under the root account, I am not able to start the weblogic server anymore using the oracle user account. The folder I copied into the autodeploy directory is called Joseki.war which is used to access Sparql service and semantic techonologies in Jena. Can anybody pls give some advice to fix the issue? Thank you very much in advance.

Wrong forum - your post has nothing to do with the Oracle database. You wanted a WLS forum.

  • Oracle user for backup tool

    Hello,
I´m with some doubts regarding an error that I´m facing right now. We need to setup a RMAN tool for we can do backup of our SAP system (with Oracle Database) but it show me the following error when I insert the user name PRDADM ( which is the <sid>adm).
I don´t know which user we need to use at this stage and which privileges it needs to work and make the backup action of this oracle database.
    This is the error:
This user account does not have the privileges that are required to log on to the Oracle database.
In SQL Plus I checked which users I have in dba_users and this is the output:
    SQL> select username from dba_users;

    TSMSYS
Can you help me please. Can you tell me which user I need to use?!
    Kind regards,
    samid raif

    Hello samid,
    Try this...
In Symantec tool (Backup Exec) you have to insert the following information:
In "Database Access" tab, you must use an OS user with the required privileges which are described in the following article from Symantec:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH63665
In "Oracle" tab you need to add which oracle db instance you want to connect and also you need to insert an oracle user! For this I would suggest you to create a specific user for this backup procedure (<orauser>):
    create user <orauser> identified by <orauser password>;
Then you need to add the required privileges for this oracle user, which are mentioned in the following article from Symantec:
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH82892
Now I guess you have all you need to run a backup without problems!
    Kind regards,
    João Dimas

  • Locking a block after X number of user entry records

Is there a way to lock a block after X many records have been entered by the user? I dont have a problem after the
data is entered and saved, its just when they are entering the information the first time do I see the problem where the user can use the enter key and since my block navigation is next record they are able to go to the next record in block also that way. I have tried using triggers (when-validate-record it only catches it after they have already entered data, pre-record,next-record, does not seem to be able to see the :system.cursor_record variable. I need to be able to say, if the next record is X they can not navigate to that record. Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Use when-new-record-instance trigger, and check :System.trigger_record rather than :system.cursor_record for the record number.

  • Need advice on ORA-01578: ORACLE data block corrupted

We have a development database server version- 10.2.0.3 with materialized views refresh as complete every morning. Yesterday we had a power failure and the server went down and database was shutdown unexpectedly.
When we restarted the database after the server restarted, we found some of the datablocks got corrupted . Following were the exceptions that we saw in the alert.log.
    Errors in file /i01_01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/admin/orcl9/bdump/orcl9_smon_7547.trc:
    ORA-01578: ORACLE data block corrupted (file # 11, block # 257712)
    ORA-01110: data file 11: '/i01_01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/oradata/orcl9/ts_gen_data_02.dbf'
    ORACLE Instance orcl9 (pid = 8) - Error 1578 encountered while recovering transaction (9, 38) on object 54463
I tried the following query to see the segment type.
    select owner, segment_name, segment_type from dba_extents where file_id =11 and 257712 between block_id and block_id + blocks - 1;
    OWNER
    SEGMENT_NAME
    SEGMENT_TYPE
    VISH
    INVENTORY_TXN
    TABLE
where " INVENTORY_TXN " is a materialized view that was using the block that got corrupted. I can always recreate the MV by dropping and recreating it. Will it solve the problem???
If not, how can I recover/repair the block.???
Can anyone advice on this. Thanks very much in advance.

To recover a corrupted block, the best way out is to use Blockrecover command of RMAN. So you would need RmAN backup to perform the operation. But first ypu you need to ensure that this is a persistent error or not? Is this error is coming repeatedly or just once it happened?
    About Blockrecover command,read here,

  • Server Does not start after backup complition

    Dear All,
We are facing following problem some times after backup completion.
    Our Setup is : SAP ECC 6, Oracle 10g, HP-UX 11.31.
We are scheduling the whole database offline + archive log backup during night.
After completion of backup the SAP does not start. I have checked the following things.
    1. Database is started : OK.
    2. SAP related services at O/S level : OK
    3. Listener is OK
    4. No startup log generated related to SAP
But I am not able to connect to SAP thru SAP GUI.
If I tried to start SAP using startsap it will not respond for long time. Even I have tried to startsap after shutting down database, kill all SAP related services at O/S level. But startsap doesn't respond.
When I restart the server, after that I am able to start SAP.
Is there any memory fragmentation related problem ?
Before some time same thing is happened with our production server, but at that time I have deleted Archivelog files manually before tacking backup. In this case if I take backup "whole database offline + archive log " then server doesn't start. At that time also I have to restart the server. So the Problem is identified.
But in this case i.e on our Quality Server not able to trace out problem.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nirav

    Hi,
Yes the problem is related to memory. I think during the backup  memory is allocated but not release after completion of database backup.
in case of archive log backup what option your are using means are you using save and delete option  or other.
In the case of the production server archive log backup you to use to the option  save and delete.
Please also check wheather core file getting gernerated should be deleted frquently from work folder.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vidyadhar K

Please, specify, are you using the password feature in the user's profile? You can check this from the DBA_PROFILES and the DBA_USERS views.
On the other hand, if this is not letting you enter the sqlplus session, could you speficy the error message displayed when you attempt to connect?
