Order of start infrastructure and Portal - SCRIPT

I replied to someone's query on this topic, so I thought it might be useful for others as well. The script that I wrote in June 2002 for an article in oracle magazine.
It is simple & it works, in a way tells you status of the
components as well.
Put it an a file chmod to allow execute ...
I have included the debug in the script as well.
Hope this helps.

Have been trying a bit more and found out how to access the chart to a certain extent. It seems to be possible the change the X-Axis Values via:
chart.axes(xlcategory).minimumscale
chart.axes(xlcategory).maximummscale
Are however not able to find values that really will show up, have tried numerous formats, and by using just simple numbers like for example 100 the code runs, but the X-axis values dissapears instead of changing.
The question is if it is at all possible to then also change the actual data in the chart to show the weeks that are entered. No use of changing the axis values without changing the data for the weeks as well. Have not been able to find anything about accessing
the data values, perhaps they are not accessible? From within MS Project it is not possible to Clock on the "edit source data" in the menu which appears when right clicking on the chart.
Any ideas are welcome.

  • Manual creation of PPDS Planned Orders by start date and time

    Hi,
When an order is manually created in any ppds standard transaction the start date is calculated according to the availability date entered, the order quantity and the master data
Is it possible to manually create an order based on the start date and then the availability date is calculated according to the order quantity and master data?
    Thanks
    CTF

    CTF,
You can 'forward schedule' manually created orders.
Scheduling direction is dependent on the Strategy profile.  During order creation, you can change this.
When on the order create screen (/sapapo/rrp5), select the strategy button at the top.  This will bring up the default strategy for your userid.  You can alter the "planning direction" to be 'forward' or 'forward & reverse' depending on your business requirements.  Selecting Save will then make this scheduling strategy your default; otherwise just hit green checkbox.
Now the order entry screen will have 'start date' entry box.  Avail date will then be calculated.

  • Work Order Basic Start Date and Basic Finish Date to be changed

    Hi,
Currently the business creates work orders without specifying the work resulting which the start and fish dates on work order are same. Also we have automatic scheduling turned off. In spite of this If I am trying to manual modify the basic start and basic finish dates on work order it does not allow me to do so. This issue is seen with work orders which are Released whereas orders with status outstanding have no issues. Could anyone please let me know what could be the reason?
    Thanks,
    Vinay

Please check whether Scheduling type only capacity requirement is configured.
If yes, choose this scheduling type in order, you can able to change Basic start date & basic finish date.

  • Problem in starting infrastructure and middletier

on application server 10gAS(10.1.2.0.2) changed listener port number both on infrastructure tier and middletier. now when i run opmnctl startall command on infrastructure tier its taking too long than usual. please tell me whats the reason

I take it, this is the OHS listener port you've changed (if it is both on the mid-tier and infrastructure); if so, there are additional steps such as re-registering the SSO, Portal, WebCache configuration, etc. Please refer to the doscumentation for changing listener port/settings:

  • Edit Cluster Start-stop- and Monitor-Scripts via Bash?

    Hi,
is there a way to edit (and sync!) the Cluster-Scripts via CLI?
    Regards
    Bernd

The short answer is no. The scripts are stored in eDir, and NCS keeps revisions of them internally. The best place to edit them is iManager. Alternatively, you can directly change the eDir attributes for those scripts while cluster is down.
That said, everything that iManager does comes in through a file interface. If you goal is to script resource modification, you can always access the file interface directly.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

    hi all,
I have started the portal configuration (after its installation)and I have deployed the portal to the middle tier. Now I have two questions:
    1. How should I configure the portal schema through the Portal Dependency Settings File and is it necessary?
I don't understand the question. It seems to me that you want to configure portal (Mid Tier), and Infrastructure, if you have one installed, in certain kind of environment. Which version of iAS have you installed?
    2. Do I need aministrator user/password in order to start building the portal after that?
Yes, absolutely. To build portal, you would need either orcladmin or portal passwords. These password you must have provided during installation.
    Good Luck!

I will install oracle10g AS 904 infrastructure and middle tiers on single node.
    I have some question.
1.install infrastructure and middle tiers must have different home_dir , It is mean use one user (EX:oracle) or two users (EX: infra and mid ) install ?
    2. If use one user install , How to edit the user profile ?
    3. If it install complete , Which em console do I start (infra or middle)??
    4. Ple give the clear steps to install Infrastructure and Portal and wireless
    on single host for AIX5L.
    thank

    Hi Kevin,
    1. Create two seprate Oracle homes. Use the same user to install both.
    2. Are you refering to changing ORACLE_HOME, etc?
    3. Both. To save memory you can shut them down when you don't need them.
    4. Use the quick installation guide. You can find it under documentation here on OTN.

  • Simple Two Server Reverse Proxy and Portal Config?

Hi, I would like to create a very simple two box configuration to access Oracle Portal from the internet.
Web Cache would run as a reverse proxy for login.mycompany.com and portal.mycompany.com with two IP addresses in the DMZ.
The second server would run the Portal Mid tier, the Infrastructure tier and the oracle database.
Is this configuration possible? The enterprise deployment guide uses 6 servers to do this. Can this be done with 2?

in the Enterprise Deployment Guide in section 9.2.3.4 Updating the httpd.conf file:
    NameVirtualHost idmhost1.mycompany.com:7777
    <VirtualHost idmhost1.mycompany.com:7777>
    ServerName login.mycompany.com
    Port 443
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteOptions inherit
    SimulateHttps On
    </VirtualHost>
In Section 9.2.6.1 ensuring Validity of Self-Referential URLs Rendered on OracleAS Portal Pages is updates the portal's http fil
    <VirtualHost apphost1.mycompany.com:7778>
    ServerName apphost1.mycompany.com
    Port 7777
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteOptions inherit
    </VirtualHost>
I don't understand how all the ports map to different services when the infrastructure and portal tier are installed on the same server. But is the port 7777 in confllict? Is the Guide in section 9.2.6.1 using Port 7777 to connect to the web cache listening port?

  • 9.0.2 portal on NT/Win2k - single host for infrastructure and midtier

We're having myriad problems/bugs with a 9.0.2 portal implementation on Windows 2000. We've implemented both the infrastructure and mid-tier on the same host, a hefty new Compaq.
Has anybody had any luck with this type of OS/single host deployment of portal 9.0.2?

I have managed to get it to "work" - though not on that OS. We are using Solaris 8 for this and it took me a little over three weeks to get it to a "workable" state.
I found a couple of things that may help though:
order of install is very important. As the documentations says install the infrastructure first then the mid-tier. What it doesn't mention (at least not where I was reading) was to configrue the oem reporting website after the infrastructure install and BEFORE the mid-tier install. I overcame a number of problems doing it this way.
Also, after each install exit OUI. It's strange but it works. Oracle makes some mention that they do not support multiple installs in the same session. It's in only one of the many documents I read on this website.
Edit the httpd.conf to auto start Jserv and hard code the ports for the sucker. Don't depend on it doing itself manually.
Also, make sure the jserv.conf line in httpd.conf is uncommented.
Also, under unix before each install explicitly indicate which ORACLE_HOME you are installing into (I guess this may mean to manually enter the ORACLE_HOME values in the Windows registry). Do not unset the ORACLE_HOME value as the Oracle documentation states when doing the second install - hard code it yourself.
Check on the DISPLAY value in jserv.properties (for both mid-tier and infrastructure - I am guessing that you may not need to do this but for Unix it's a big thing and causes a huge number of errors).
Uncomment the following line in jserv.properties if your version of the jdk is higher than 1.2.2a:
    #wrapper.env=JAVA_COMPILER=NONE
verify that the cgi-bin virtual directory is set properly in oem.conf found in /db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/oem_webstage if the following sections is found in oem.conf (it points to the Apache cgi-bin directory):
    DirectoryIndex emwebsite.html
    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/Apache/cgi-bin/"
    ScriptAlias /oem_webstage/cgi-bin/ "/db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/Apache/cgi-bin/"
    Alias /oem_webstage/ "/db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/oem_webstage/"
Change it to reflect the cgi-bin of the oem website
    DirectoryIndex emwebsite.html
    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/oem_webstage/cgi-bin/"
    ScriptAlias /oem_webstage/cgi-bin/ "/db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/oem_webstage/cgi-bin/"
    Alias /oem_webstage/ "/db/d01/oracle/ora9ias/oem_webstage/"
When the infrastructure in installed always, always start dcmctl (the Oracle http server) before starting the Enterprise manager during the startup of the server else you will get passwords that are not synced. Same for when you need to restart the httd server - shutdown the enterprise manager website down first, make your changes, shutdown the httd server, start it up and then restart the enterprise manager.
Just some things that I can think of off the top of my head right now.
Now if only the mid-tier would have installed the Portal to the default port rather than one I did not choose. That's a whole nuther story.
    Good luck.
