Don't believe you can... the main issue is that the costs assigned to the parent order before the split would cause pseudo variances in the system.
Costs have to be collected on a PCC for both the Parent and Child orders.

  • Planned Order confirmation or cost collector setting?

    Hello,
we have implemented the planned order backflushing on the corresponding reporting steps.
But on the ERP side its only sending material to the cost collector and not directly backflushing it againt the planned order.
On the SAP ME help page I saw this statement:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_me52/helpdata/EN/4a/3ff0bf8e37420a9a96588eeb803de7/content.htm
Depending on the settings in SAPMEINT, the corresponding planned order is confirmed in SAP ERP or the cost collector is updated. Then the standard functions for confirmation are carried out in SAP ERP.
    Where is this setting?

    Hi Santhosh,
Production Order planned costs are nothing but the order quantity will be calculated. But the product cost collector means the quantitative structure of the product means it will consider the all the components costs in the BOM contains and calculate the cost of the product OK.
I hope it helps you OK. Any queries ping me again OK.

    HI Venkat,
Product cost collectors cannot be used for the following objects and production environments:
-Manufacturing orders that settle to a sales order item if you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock in sales-order-related    production
-Sales-order-related production with a valuated sales order stock, except in repetitive manufacturing environments
    -Engineer-to-order environments
-Manufacturing orders that are part of a collective order
    -Joint production

  • Production Order Type In Costing.

    Hi Gurus,
i have some Doubts in Costing, i have Run The Ck11n and Released it it is updated in MM Costing View.
    1. i have completed All the Production process andAfter the Goods Recipt I tried to settle the Order in ko88.i got error that variance shuold be calluclated  before settling the order. then i tried to calluclate the variance for the order there i got error stating no cost collector could be determined, creat cost collector.
then i tried to creat cost collector i got error that the order type is ctegory 10 it is not suuported to cost cgange catogiry 05.
    1. sap  standard order type pp01 holds category 10. then why systm is not allowing to create cost collector for pp01?
    2. is it mandatory to use order category 05 if we want to use costing for the production order type.?
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Venkat,
You do not enter a production version in the order. The system cannot assign the order to any product cost collector. To solve this problem you create the order for the production version.
you have defined that the product cost collector is created for the production version. The corresponding product cost collector exists in the system. However, you create the order for BOM and routing.
Follow this link and do the set up first.

  • Splitting without product cost collector

    Hello All,
Can anybody tell me how a splitting of a existing production order can be done without a product cost collector. i tried splitting but it is doing with product cost collector.
    Thank you.
    Alok  Tiwari

    Hi Alok,
    This is from SAP documentation:
    Costs
    Actual costs
The costs of the parent and child orders are collected in a common Product Cost Collector. This is because the parent order, as a rule, has already caused actual costs before the split took place. If the actual costs were collected in the parent order before the split, and separately in the parent/child orders after the split, then the materials of the parent order would have excessively high costs per piece, and the child order correspondingly lower costs. As a result, settlement for each order would result in unwanted variances in controlling.
So, as you can see this is the way he system works, and for good reasons.
Why is that a problem to you?

  • REM - Cost Collector Settlement and transfer order price

    Hi,
My client is using REM. They create planned orders in their distribution centre and through special procurement manufacture the orders in a seperate manufacturing site. There is no stock transport orders the goods are manufactured in the production facility and recieved into stock in the distribution centre during backflushing.
The cost collector is set up for the planning site so that once the planned orders are settled the moving average price of the finished product is updated in the distribution centre.
My client wishes to add a 'transfer price' at order settlement so that the moving average price in the distribution centre is updated with the new moving average price + the transfer price during settlement.
Is this possible using transfer pricing functionality??? How is it implemented?

    Hi,
If this indicator is turned on, the costs are collected on a product cost collector. In this case you use the functionality of Product Cost by Period. In this case you calculate the work in process and variances by period
If this indicator is not turned on, the costs are collected directly on the manufacturing order. In this case you use the functionality of Product Cost by Order. In this case you calculate the work in process and variances by lot.
Cost Collector will be used in conjunction with the distribution rule - PP2 periodic settlement.
In discrete , if you split the order you have to use the cost collector indicator and the PP2 periodic settlement rule.

  • REM profile Product Type - Cost Collector Order Type

    Hi all,
I am trying to create a Repetitive Manufacturing Profile, at that time standard Production Type PKMN is automatically arriving from table V_T437S_GES.
and I would like to assign the cost collector order type (self defined) to the REM profile which I am going to create.
where I need to assign the cost collector order type for production type "PKMN" while creating REM profile.
If I copy the exisiting REM profile and I am able to get the cost collector order type  that I am able to see in TABLE : T437S (Repetitive Manufacturing Profile Table). If I create the REM profile newly, I am unable to get the cost collector order type in the table T437S.
So please guide to the self defined cost collector order type for newly creating REM profile.
    Thanks in Advance

    Madhan,
Order type "PKMN", is internally defined by SAP. Forr all cost accounting purpose, we would be using standard order type "RM01" when creating a new product cost collector for material. If required you can create your own order type say "ZM02" using transaction KOT2, please remmember you need to create with order category "05"- Product Cost Collectors.
This new Order type can be used when we are creating product cost collectors for a material.
I really dont find a reason why a new Order type is required to be created. Can you explain why?

    Prasobh

  • Abolish product cost collector for production order

    Dear Experts,
we use for some production order types the product cost collector. Now we plan to abolish them and change the settlement for production order. Which things do we have to pay attention? Do we have to finish our running production orders first or is it possible to change customizing during running production process. Thanks for your hepl!
    Best regards
    Steffen

    Hi Ajay,
    thank you for your answer.
    We have tested two variants:
    1. new order type, so we can process two separate settlements, for orders with PCC and the new orders without PCC. After archiving of all prodorders with pcc, archiving of pcc it should be possible to switch back to old order type.
    2. change customizing without finishing existing orders, settlement for existing orders, all orders which already have been processed will be settled by pcc (status pcc usage in order header) We have not be seen any strange system behavior.
We use the pcc collector for different order types in different plants and want to abolish plant by plant. In this time the pcc will still be customized/exists.
    Best regards

  • EBP - creating header pricing to Order and splitting the cost to the items

    Hello all,
I need a "cookbook" to create header pricing in the Order automatically according to customer fields. The purpose is to add general costs to the items without user's intervention.
I also need a "cookbook" to split these costs from the header to the items automatially, so each order item receive the relational cost.
    Any help would be appreciable

  • Product cost collector for sales order related production

    Hi Friends,
This is Azam and here i am new to this discussion forum.
we are in situation that use diffrent variant for configurable material in sales order related production,
I would like to have some information about use product cost collector for this kind of sales order related production,
also I want to know difference between prelimanary cost estimate or cost estimate for sales order?
    Please co-operate me.
I would be highly appriciated if you can respond at the earliest.
    Thanks
    Azam

    Hi,
Here, for each sales order item, you will have sales order cost estimate. This enables the system to compute the variances once the actual costs are booked against the production.
In the case of preliminery cost, we get the preliminery cost for production order as a plan cost and is not being used for the computation of variance but only for comparision purpose which is very marginally used.
Trust this helps much and do encourage our efforts!
    Cheers!

  • Production Order Split

I am exploring the functionality in LOG_PP_PROD_ORD_SPLIT in our sandbox region.  We are currently at EHP 4, thus rendering OSS note 170819 not relevant.  I have activated  LOG_PP_PROD_ORD_SPLIT  via SFW5.  I am trying to split a production order for a MTO end item that is NOT batch managed.  Also, since we have ECC 6.0 EHP 4 the requirement of a product cost collector is no longer there.
I select the operation in the parent order that I want the split to occur and always get a message "Missing by-product/missing batch for cost transfer material".  I tried creating a by-product that is batch managed. When I add that material in the by-product field in the material for cost transfer, I get the message "No batch numbers could be determined".  So now I enter a batch number and get the message "Material uses internal batch number assignment (Entry will be deleted)".  I have also tried to add an existing batch with no inventory that I manually created and get the Batch number already exists message.
I have not activated the business function LOG_PP_WIP_BATCH, as I do not wish to use WIP batches.
    Questions:
How do I get around the fact that our MTO end items are NOT batch mangaged?  Do I use a generic by-product as the material for cost transfer?  If so, how do I get past the need to add a batch number or get the system to accept the internally assigned number as outlined above?  It is not an option to batch manage the end item.
What is the purpose/reason for needing this material for cost transfer to be batch managed?
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

    Hi,
Assume you have to do 5 operations to get the product
    creating the production order .
confirm the first two  operations using Co11N
now open the production order in the change mode using Co02
In production order operation overview, select the operation 0030 and go to functions menu and click on split order.
System will display a  screen with all parameters for order split.
enter split quantity and order type(you can select different order type for child order)
    Click execute Split Order
operation quantity for the current order will be reduced based on the split quantity
Balance quantity would be assigned to the new production order created because of order split .

  • Old material overwritten by new material code in Product cost collector

    Hi SAP Gurus,
How can I work around if a product cost collector with material XXX has been overwritten by a new material YYY when creating the KKF6N.
Both material code having the same plant, same orde type, same production version but just different material code.
When saving the preliminary costing for the product cost collector for material YYY, the system prompted me the order number 700022 which is already existing and created for material XXX.
By right, this shd not be happened but indeed it did.
Now when displaying the report S_ALR_87013127 - Order Selection, the report showed the new material YYY was created with order number 700022 but the content of the data was for old material XXX.
Now my problem is how can I get back the product cost collector for material XXX as the original order number 700022 was meant for material XXX and not mat YYY.
And also when executing backflush (MFBF) for old material XXX, the error msg prompted as 'content of order 700022: Mat YYY transferred to interface (IMSEG):Mat XXX due to this I can't backflush material XXX.
Really appreciate your expertise on this urgently.
    many thanks!

problem due to system bug, have to log to OSS for help.

  • Error while creating Product Cost Collector

    Hi SAP Gurus,
While creating Product Cost Collector I am getting the following Error:
Enter a distribution rule for Order without a validity limit
    Message no. KD059
    Diagnosis
The settlement profile used requires you to define a distribution rule for Order. For period 009 2008, however, you have not created a distribution rule for Order.
    Procedure
Create a distribution rule for Order without a validity limit, because, if the distribution rule does have a validity limit, the system always issues this message in the period following the last valid period.
You can also use a different settlement profile that does not require such a distribution rule, or change the settlement rule used.
Can any one help where exactly i need to maintain this.
The settlement profile settings are fine.
I am getting this error only after i have changed the scenario to Reproting point back flushing

    Dear Suryanarayana
Please check the corresponding settlement profile for product orders.
In most of the cases message KD059 means that no distribution rule is assigned to your production order.
This is not an error, but the system design. In order to avoid message KD059 you will either have to enter settlements parameters and a distribution, or change settlement profile for valid receivers in transaction OKO7 from 'settlement required' to 'Can be settled'.
I hope this helps resolve the issue for you. I wish you the best in your endeavours.
    Kind Regards,
    Brendan
