Org. Management Number Ranges

Hi Experts,
When I creating new position number by using FM RH_OBJECT_CREATE  in the program , I am getting the number range error.
We have define a new plan version for creating this new postions.
Is number range linked to plan version.
Regards,
IFF

Hi,
Whether number range is  linked to plan version can be configured:
Chenk switch Number assignment for all plan versions: T77S0 ->Group:NUMRG     Sem. abbr:COMP
If you set the switch 'NUMGR COMP' to 'X', you can assign numbers across different plan versions.
If you decide not to work with number assignment valid for all plan versions, you must create individual number intervals per plan version (and possibly also per object type). If you decide to use plan version- independent number assignment, you create number intervals that are valid for all plan versions. In this case, there is no danger of parallel number intervals occurring i.e. the same number interval for one object in one plan version and for a different object in another plan version.
In the standard SAP R/3 system, number assignment is not valid for all plan versions.
You can define number range in view T77IV.
Hope helps,
Chen Jian

    hi
First step is to define number range
Cross-Application Components  SAP Business Partner  Business Partner  Basic Settings  Number Ranges and Groupings  Define Number Ranges
    Second step
Cross-Application Components  SAP Business Partner  Business Partner à Basic Settings à Number Ranges and Groupings à Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges
    Third step
Customer Relationship Management  Master Data  Business Partner  Integration Business Partner-Organization Management  Set Up Integration with Organizational Management
    Make following settings here
HRALX     HRAC     X     Activate HR Integration
HRALX     OBPON     ON     Integration O-BP Activated
HRALX     ONUMB     2     Business Partner Number Assignment (Org. Unit)
HRALX     OSUBG     Y4     Business Partner Subgroup (Organizational Unit)
     Number Range

  • Org Unit Number Range Error...

    Hi,
Iam trying to maintain the Number Range for Org unit in the configuration.
I have maintained it like the below
    $$$$     IN     EX
    01C     IN     EX
    01O     IN     EX
    01S     IN     EX
I have also checked the Plan version which is '01'.
But when I create an Org unit, it takes the OU number from some where in the middle. It is not even taking from the below setting as well.
    $$$$     IN     EX
Could you please throw some light on this ?
    Thanks in Advance..

  • OM Implementation: Re-Number Org Unit Number Ranges.

    Hi Experts,
My client wants to implement OM module in SAP HR.
The requirement is : They need defined number ranges for org Units in OM. However the existing number ranges for Org Units in PA module do not fit in the range. How do I satisfy this requirement without any impact ?
FYI: Personnel Administration(PA), US Payroll , Benefits and FI-CO is already implemented.
    Regards,
    Somdeb.

Sounds like the problem is not maintaining different number ranges per object type (which is standard to do), but to not have these conflict with existing number range  in T527 tables.
I am not sure how this transfer from just using PA to using integration will work.  You will have to check the different RHINTE-reports to make out a strategy how to do this transfer.   When you start using OM, where will correct data regarding org.units be?  You will neeed to run some integration to establish a new startingpoint after integration is switched on.  If this creates conflict between existing numberranges in PA and wanted ranges in OM, you may have to do some coding in PA0001 first.

  • Org.Man number ranges

    Greetings,
How do I assign number ranges for different objects in OM ?
I need different number ranges for the objects C, O and S.
It is a new clean system so I am setting the number ranges to INT (Internal)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Mark

Hey there I have done that but every time I create an object like Org.Unit it does not use my number range but the $$$$ number range.
My settings are as follows :
    Feature NUMKR (000010     &NUMKR=01,)
Table 77S0 :  PLOGI     PLOGI     01     Integration Plan Version / Active Plan Version
NUMRG     COMP     01     Number assignment for all plan versions
Table 77IV (IMG): $$$$     IN     EX
01C     IN     EX             Number range set to internal (EXT not checked)(00000001 - 09999999)
01O     IN     EX             Number range set to internal (EXT not checked)(10000001 - 19999999)
01S     IN     EX             Number range set to internal (EXT not checked)(20000001 - 99999999)
Am I missing some obvious step ?
When I create the Org.Unit the documentation says I must enter a ' ! ' in the number field and the system will know it is an Internal number range. But when I do that it uses the number range for $$$$ like I said. The only way I can use my required number range is to enter it manually but that defeats the object of having a system assigned internal number range.
    Any Idea's ?

  • Batch management number ranges

    Hi guru's
My client is using internal number ranges for my raw material
but now they want to enter external number at the time of Goods reciept
and also I want to make it mandatory for external number ranges.
that mean system is proposing me internal number ranges now
and user is updating external number ranges.
My issue is system should not propose me any internal number ranges
I want to update my external number ranges only
could any body help me to solve this issue?
which user exit i have to try or is there any other  option?
    Nilesh

    Dear,
Set Up Customer Exits for External Batch Number AssignmentAs part of the external batch number assignment, the following two function module exits are available in the SAP enhancement SAPLV1ZE for checking a new batch number that has been entered.
EXIT_SAPLV01Z_003. Using this exit, you can replace the proposed number range object BATCH_CLT and/or external interval 02 with a number range object and/or external interval you have defined yourself.
You also have the option of suppressing the batch number check, for example, based on the material or plant.
EXIT_SAPLV01Z_004. Using this exit, you can define your own checking rule.
In this you write a code, if the plnat is so and so , then take this external number range, if youn want internal number range then use the following
You can use SAP enhancement SAPLV01Z for internal batch number assignment. This enhancement contains two function module exits that you can use to define number ranges or templates for batch numbers:
Goto OMCZ, Inactive internal no assignment for the batches.
Now in OMAD- Maintain no ranges for object- BATCH_CLT
Maintain external no range for that.

  • Batch management number range issue

    Hello Experts,
We have one requirement like this we are following Batch unique at material level. Client requirement is like this; they require separate number range for plant and order type combination. Is it possible?
If it is possible please specify the steps.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ganesh

    HI,
In our case we had to differentiate the batches for different plants and we have used the first digit as alphabetic character with reference to the plant. Here we had a single number range for batch creation but the first digit of the generated batch number will be an alphabet representing the plant. This was done with the help of the enhancement SAPLV01Z and EXIT_SAPLV01Z_001.
Hope this helps you to satisfy your requirement.

    Ravi Kumar C.

  • Number Range-OM

    Hi,
Requirement for number ranges is as follows
    $$S Positions- 20000000-29999999
    $$O Org Units number range-10000000-19999999
    $$C Jobs-30000000-39999999
    Used the following process
I went to Personnel managementOrganizational ManagementBasic SettingsNumber Ranges and created the following
I ticked the setting NUMRG COMP as X in T77S0.
If I goto PO10 and the number range is still coming as 50000000 instead of 10000000-19999999 for organizational unit.
    Kindly guide me?

    ohh
here is full implementation step for number range in OM
    For validity across plan versions
Organizational Management  > Basic settings > Maintaining Number Ranges> Set Up Number Assignment for All Plan Versions
    Table        : V_T77S0SC ( T-code : SM30)
    maintain
    NUMRG    COMP       X
Organizational Management  > Basic settings > Maintaining Number Ranges> Maintain Number range
    Table        : T77IV ( T-code : SM30)
Create new entries with $$X , where $$ indicates the plan version and X is Object type like O  is the org unit .
after this Selecting the object (Org unit, Job, Position and task) click on number range button
This will take u to the Screen saying number range for pesonnel planning.
    click on change INterval button
maintain  the no ranges with the range u want  keeping the current number range
0 while creating for the first time.
    Its done

  • Number range for trans./event type WA in year 2006 does not exist

    hi
while posting stock in MB1C screen the following error has been faced by me, i hope a answer from any one of u.
    thankyou
    venuprasad

    Hi Venu,
In the sytem there is no number range assignment for event type WA (Goods issues)in the year 2006. In SPRO -- Materials Management -- Inventory Management -- Number ranges for material documents -- Number ranges for Goods Issues/transfer posting -- For WA insert year 2006 and assign the number range for the year 2006.
Number ranges for material documents will be maintained year wise.
Hope this clarifies. If you have any issue. Post it back.
    Thanks,

  • Number range of confirmation of service

what transaction code can we check the number range of confirmation of service.
    thanks.

    Hi,
You can create the number range from transction - SNRO assign the same in IMG.
    or
    In IMG under
Materials Management -> External Service management -> Number Ranges
-> Define Number Range for Service Entry Sheet
-> Define Internal Number Range for Service Specifications
    -> Assign Number Range
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Number Range scenario...best way of handling?

I was looking at a possible scenario:
There is one university with 100 colleges under it which is implementing HE-R.These colleges offer 500 programs of study in all.( 100 colleges * 5 programs each). Each register around 400 students to a program around the same time( Total students=500*400=20000).
In this scenario, how will the university administrator register students in a way that using the number range,he can differentiate a student on the basis of his college and program?
Some options which came to my mind was that he would create 500 number ranges and assign the same whenever a student is to be booked to the respective programs. The other option probably is that the administrator would change the 'current number'in the number range interval node. Do send your thoughts on the same.

Yes, that is true for externally assigned ranges.  However, if you use an internally managed number range, then the only thing you can change the number to is an externally managed number range.  You could not change it to a number that is in any the INTERNAL number range.
The intelligent numbering is possible of course, but still introduces more problems than it addresses, and also much complexity, as you can see.  Whenever an administrator pulls up a student record, all of the relevant organization and program data are displayed prominently in the student header.  It is much easier to see that information directly than it is to remember the several dozen or hundreds of coded ranges.
Consider the analogy to general ledger accounts.  Almost every legacy financial system uses intelligent G/L account numbering.  Almost every customer that migrates to SAP starts off believing that those intelligent numbers are needed in SAP.  In the end, though, it almost always becomes clear to all users (except for the most stubborn ones who will never be happy with any change whatsoever) that the SAP G/L structure is far more flexible and easier to report off of than any intelligent numbering scheme could be.
Perhaps in the legacy student system, the intelligent numbering is NECESSARY, because it is otherwise cumbersome and difficult to see the organization and program context of the student.  This just isn't the case with SAP Student Lifecycle Management.  We cannot take all the 'requirements' at face value.  I would suspect that the real requirement is not 'We need intelligent numbering', but that 'We need to be able to easily and quickly ascertain the student's school and program'.

    Hello Everyone,
Is it possible for the org objects to have the same number id say 50000004 for both Job (C) and position (S).
    Thanks

    Hi Marian,
In SPRO go to Pers. Manag. and then to the Basic Settings in Organizational Management. You will find Mantain Number Range table there.

  • No number range found for 01 RP_REINR SP11--Travel Manager

    Hi
While creating Travel request in in Travel manager i got this error messages"No number range found fo 01 RP_REINR SP!!-Travel Manager..Plse advice me how to resolve this..
    Thanks&best regds
    Shaila

In adition to task from Shailaja .. Consider this:
Please note that while defining your number ranges, the number must be two Digits  i.e ( 01,02,03)  , it must NOT be single digit  i.e (1,2,3)..
I'd had the same issue, but with the two digits number it has been solved.

  • Number range in Solution Manager 3.2

    Hi ,
we are using solution Manager 3.2 with oracle 9i and Bi 7.0 (development)
While we  raise Solution Manager Ticket from BW Development system,it is
not mainatainig the proper sequence number(number range).Rest all other systems are maintaining it properly.Recently we have upgraded the Support Pack for that BW Development system.its seems like  issue is happening after the SP upgrade.
Please guide us to resolve this issue
    thanks in advance
    George Varghese

    Hello George,
The best possible thing for you now ( assuming that everything was working absolutely fine before the upgrade and that you now continue to have no issues with raising tickets in other satellite systems ) would be to find out the side effects of the SP applied..... or may be look for notes resembling your problem.....
SAP Marketplace is one the one you must look upto.....In the meanwhile just raise an OSS for the same..
    Inspire ppl by rewarding..
