Organizational Unit - Password for Participant
When I add a prticipant under a role, it doesn't ask password for the user.
Even when the user logs in through HiPer Workspace and click on options link (Top Right), there is no option availabe there to set the password.
If anybody know plz explain to me...
I am using Aqualogic Studio 5.7
Thanks in advance

Pranay,
Studio doesn't require user passwords. Because it's designed for rapid development and testing (and is not the production server), we save you the time of setting, remembering, and entering user passwords. In other words, this is a feature, not a bug. :-)
Deploy your project to the Enterprise Server and it will automatically enforce user run-time security. I hope this helps!

How to pass Nested Organization Units (ou) for the provisioning purposes
I have defiend an Entity Adapter which would check the input string and create the Organization Units (such as ou=accounting, ou=finance, o=mycompany) tree and then update the Orgainzation name of Novell Edir User with this new value. The input string is from the Peoplesoft as trusted resource (we use some complext business logic to map to the proper ou tree structure in the Novell Edirectory).
But, I got the cACT/eventPreUpdate Error :Dataobject contains invalid characters
when OIM trying to create the user before provisioning to Novell Edirectory.
Since the ou tree sturcture is used by the pSearchbase during Novell Edir provisioning process, and it should be in the form of ou=accounting, ou=finance, o=mycompany, I am wondering if you know how to solve this problem.
Thanks

Please provide definition of BOM_BO_PUB.BOM_HEADER_TBL_TYPE and Bom_Bo_Pub.Bom_Head_Rec_Type. If BOM_BO_PUB.BOM_HEADER_TBL_TYPE is table of Bom_Bo_Pub.Bom_Head_Rec_Type then your statment is OK. Setting Organizational Unit (OU) for a WAP VM Role
In VMM we can define the OU that a VM created from a VM Template is created within using a custom VM template property:-
Set-SCVMTemplate -VMTemplate $VMTemplate -DomainJoinOrganizationalUnit $OU
I cannot find something similar in WAP VM Roles though, and I think I'm going to have to use SMA to move the computer acct post build.
Does anyone know whether or not there is a similar method for setting the OU on VM Roles that are deployed?
Thanks
SteveHi Steve,
Unfortunately
there is no way to customize the OU path beforehand at this time.
I use SMA to create the ComputerObject in the correct OU during deployment and remove it when the VM Role is removed. If you want to create a
similar
method you should know that the ComputerName of the VM Role which gets deployed cannot be taken from the ResourceObject (which is passed to the SMA runbook by SPF) directly as this could be a name range instead of a single name. Instead use the
data provided by the ResourceObject to
interrogate VMM for the correct ComputerName(s).
I have given an SMA training a few times this year where I covered this scenario:
New VM Role gets deployed by the tenant user which triggers a SMA runbook which handles these tasks
Create an OU per VM Role on a
dedicated parent OU (as a VM Role can scale up and down it make sense to do this with GPO in mind. Think of a VM Role as a Unit of Automation, Configuration and governance).
Create the Computer Accounts in the OU (when scaling up and down, another runbook should add / delete
computer accounts)
Create a domain local security group for the VM Role.
Create and link a GPO to the VM Role OU and configure it with restricted groups setting to add the domain local security group to the local administrators group.
Another runbook should be created to clean everything up once the CloudService containing the VM Role deployments gets deleted.
If you are interested, I could send you this example.

Getting organizational unit with API in OBPM 11g
Hi all,
I'm not able to find the way to get the organizational unit of a participant using the OBPM 11g API. Can anyone tell me how can I do that?Organizational Unit API was included in 11.1.1.5 FP4 - see : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/documentation/11gr1ps4featurepackdoc-462677.html and download BPM Java API Reference. Within the download you will find oracle.bpm.services.organization.IBPMOrganizationService interface that contains method getOrganizationalUnitForUser which should do the job.
For the process there is an XPath method bpm:getUserOrganizationUnit() that according to documentation:
"Returns the fully qualified organization unit name with the parent hierarchy The signature of this function is bpm:getUserOrganizationUnit(userName, realmName, parentPath). The arguments to the function: 1) userName - a user name 2) realmName - The realm name. This is optional and if not specified default realm is assumed 2) parentPath - This is optional and if sepcified, would be used for resolving conflicts if the user belongs to more than one organizational unit. For example if user belongs to OUs americas/north/us/NY/sales and americas/taskforce/globalsales then americas/north or americas/north/us or americas/north/us/NY can be used as parent path. Note that longer the path, more efficient it is to search." -
Dear Folks,
I want to create a new Organizational Unit code for a rollout project.
For Example, the current company organization unit say 500000000 - Pepsi Corporation Limited and now I need to create a new company code and for that company code I need the Organizational Unit as 6000000 - India Beverages.
I hope you have understood, what I wanted to create.
Can anyone suggest me, how to make the above configuration changes.
Regards,
Somu Sekar. PHello,
First check whether u are maintaining number ranges if yes then create new no. ranges for org unit and proceed with creating.
ask fi/co people to create company code and then you can assign credentials as per your requirement.

Function to find organization unit
Hi all,
I'd like to know if functions exist in R/3 to find easily an organizational unit in the tree of the relationship between organizational unit.
For example, you have the id of an OU and you need to know the top of the list of this OU in the hierarchical structure (the list of the OU depending between them).
I'd appreciate very much if anyone could provide some help regarding this topic.
Thanks in advance.
DanielUse Function Module RHPH_STRUCTURE_READ with parameters
PLVAR 01
OTYPE 0U (Business Unit) OBJID 50050001 (example)
WEGID Z-0U-O (Custom Eval Path)
BEGDA 12/06/2005
ENDDA 12/06/2005
This will return an internal table of all Orgs under the Business Unit. You should sort the table by SEQNR & get the first Object type O record. Thats your Chief Org Unit for the Business Unit. -
LSO course authorization for Organizational Unit
Hi,
Is is possible to restrict courses in a course catalog according to Organizational unit. In the system we can restrict users to specific courses through structural authorization, but is it possible to maintain authorizations on Organizational units for LSO Courses or course types.
Regards,
AsadDisappering is the right behavior. On delivery method WBT participant type 'O' cannot be booked because WBT can be only accessed using Learning portal and Learning portal cannot be logged in using Org. Unit. So this is not possible for this release.
But i have heard in EHP4 this option of Org. unit booking on WBT is possible but not directly but system will take care if you select an org unit for booking.

DirectorySearcher for an Organizational unit
&(objectClass=user)(memberOf=cn=MyGroup,ou=West,dc=MyDomain,dc=com) work great for a group. What syntax do I use for an Organizational unit?
Certified GeekHello Arne,

If you mean you want to do a query against a OU, you could check this link:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755655(v=ws.10).aspx#BKMK_4
Search for “dsquery ou”, it shows how to
find organizational units in the directory that match the specified search criteria.

Function module for automating creation of organizational unit
Experts,
I am using SRM 4.0. In my system R/3 is acting as backend.
For creation of new organisational unit in SRM, which is not present in SRM but present in R/3 side i have to do the manual activity every time.
Is there any function module? Which can automate this process. If there is any function module which i can use please let me know. and how can i use that also please let me know.
By this automation every time through the program the new organization unit should created in SRM side.
Please let me know..
Thanks in advance. I will appriciate through rewards points.Hi,
Thanks for your input. But i am planning to send one file for HR records and then from that file through program i will upload the file. IF for some user the orgaisation unit will not be found then there itself it would create the OU through Function module(If Any)... I am doing like this as the HR system is some legacy system not the R/3 system.
So Please help me to find out function module.
i will appeciate for you help.

How do I activate the object history for an organizational unit ?
Dear experts,
we're using organizational units, positions, persons and users of the
organizational management (Transactions PPOCE and PPOME) for
the determination of (possible) agents in our Workflows.
The objects seem to have an object history, at least you find such an
option in the "find by" window on the left hand side of the maintenance
transactions, but in our system there are no entries and I can't figure
out how to activate history entries to be written.
Do you ?
Thanks in advance
AndreasHi,
In OM all relation have a validity. I think you mean this with object history.
If you double click an organizational unit for instance and then open the detail tab (if it wasn't open already)
there you'll see Valid On with todays date this is the date which is used for determining the organizational structure, also you'll see No Periods with a green square to the left of the text.
Just above the text Valid On, you'll see a button, when you click on the display periods button you can change the date to see what the relation of the object was at that time.
You can also search the HR forum for more on organizational management.
Kind regards, Rob Dielemans -
Hierarchical + Analytical query for organizational unit parameters
Hello gurus,
I try for a couples of hour ago to make a query work as I would like.
Our application need to store some parameters for our organization units. These organization units are typically organized in in an hierarchy manner: one top unit with many level of child units. The parameters are stored into another table with 1:1 relationship.
For sake of visualisation, here is the data for the organization unit and parameter table in a more visual format:
SQL> select * from organization_unit;
UNIT_CODE UNIT_NAME PARENT_UNIT_CODE
00000 Top level
10 L2 unit #10 00000
10-01 L3 unit #10-01 10
10-02 L3 unit #10-02 10
20 L2 unit #20 00000
20-01 L3 unit #20-01 20
20-02 L3 unit #20-02 20
SQL> select * from org_unit_parameters;
UNIT_CODE PARAM1 PARAM2 PARAM3 PARAM4
00000 Default value Default value Default value {null}
10 {null} Value from 10 Value from 10 {null}
10-01 {null} {null} Value from 10-01 {null}
10-02 {null} {null} {null} Value from 10-02
20 Value from 20 Value from 20 Value from 20 {null}
20-01 {null} Value from 20-01 {null} {null}
20-02 {null} Value from 20-02 {null} {null}The application will query the parameter table to get a parameter value for a given unit.
The parameter resolution algorithm is rather simple: when querying a unit, the applicable parameter is the one defined at the requested level. If the parameter is not defined (null) at the requested level, the parameter value that must be returned is the next defined one in the parent hierarchy. In some rare cases, it can be null if a parameter is not defined anywhere from the requested level to top.
I've made a query that seems to work when querying for one unit at a time. It use hierarchical operators (start with + connect by) with a bit of analytical functions. Here is a test & raw output example:
SQL> WITH hierarchy
2 AS
3 (
4 SELECT ou.unit_code,
5 LEVEL AS lvl
6 FROM organization_unit ou
7 START WITH
8 ou.unit_code = '20-01'
9 CONNECT BY
10 ou.unit_code = PRIOR ou.parent_unit_code
11 )
12 SELECT h.*,
13 p.param1 AS param1_raw,
14 LAST_VALUE (p.param1 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param1_with_last,
15 FIRST_VALUE(p.param1 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl ASC) AS param1_with_first,
16 p.param2 AS param2_raw,
17 LAST_VALUE (p.param2 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param2_with_last,
18 FIRST_VALUE(p.param2 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl ASC) AS param2_with_first,
19 p.param3 AS param3_raw,
20 LAST_VALUE (p.param3 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param3_with_last,
21 FIRST_VALUE(p.param3 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl ASC) AS param3_with_first,
22 p.param4 AS param4_raw,
23 LAST_VALUE (p.param4 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param4_with_last,
24 FIRST_VALUE(p.param4 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl ASC) AS param4_with_first
25 FROM hierarchy h
26 LEFT JOIN org_unit_parameters p
27 ON h.unit_code = p.unit_code
28 ORDER BY h.lvl DESC;

00000 3 Default value Default value Value from 20 Default value Default value Value from 20-01 Default value Default value Value from 20 {null} {null} {null}
20 2 Value from 20 Value from 20 Value from 20 Value from 20 Value from 20 Value from 20-01 Value from 20 Value from 20 Value from 20 {null} {null} {null}
20-01 1 {null} Value from 20 {null} Value from 20-01 Value from 20-01 Value from 20-01 {null} Value from 20 {null} {null} {null} {null}Seems pretty good, the upper parameters are well «propagated» down with LAST_VALUE function. But, I don't understand why the use of FIRST_VALUE and oppposite ordering doesn't give the same result. A little more playing with the last query for getting the final result for a given unit code:
SQL> SELECT *
2 FROM
3 (
4 WITH hierarchy
5 AS
6 (
7 SELECT ou.unit_code,
8 LEVEL AS lvl
9 FROM organization_unit ou
10 START WITH
11 ou.unit_code = '20-01'
12 CONNECT BY
13 ou.unit_code = PRIOR ou.parent_unit_code
14 )
15 SELECT h.*,
16 LAST_VALUE (p.param1 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param1,
17 LAST_VALUE (p.param2 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param2,
18 LAST_VALUE (p.param3 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param3,
19 LAST_VALUE (p.param4 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param4
20 FROM hierarchy h
21 LEFT JOIN org_unit_parameters p
22 ON h.unit_code = p.unit_code
23 ORDER BY h.lvl
24 )
25 WHERE ROWNUM = 1;
UNIT_CODE LVL PARAM1 PARAM2 PARAM3 PARAM4
20-01 1 Value from 20 Value from 20-01 Value from 20 {null}Works well!
But, my ultimate goal is to create a view that resolve correctly all these parameters for each level of the organization with proper propagation rather then querying for each unit at a time. I played a bit, but without success. :( My current raw query is this one:
SQL> WITH hierarchy
2 AS
3 (
4 SELECT ou.unit_code,
5 LPAD(' ',2*(LEVEL-1)) || ou.unit_code AS tree,
6 LEVEL AS lvl
7 FROM organization_unit ou
8 START WITH
9 parent_unit_code IS NULL
10 CONNECT BY
11 PRIOR unit_code = parent_unit_code
12 )
13 SELECT h.*,
14 p.param1 AS param1_raw,
15 LAST_VALUE (p.param1 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl DESC) AS param1_with_last,
16 FIRST_VALUE(p.param1 IGNORE NULLS) OVER (ORDER BY h.lvl ASC) AS param1_with_first,

For an Organization unit, unable to assign Business partners in devlopment box
Dear All,
For an Organization unit, unable to assign Business partners in development-box , when i click on assign button
its navigating to organization unit only (choose relation ship)
But for production system i can assign the BP with out any issue
Can u please suggest us, do we have any settings to chose the relation ship as position...
Please find below screen image for your reference
Thanks ,
Rahul YedapallyVijay,
There should be some relationship attached to those BP. Select any BP for which you are getting error, go to trx BP --> Open that BP --> then go to "RELATIONSHIP" tab and check. If entries there, you can delete those realtionship and try again.

Do you have any idea what is the problem? What am I doing wrong?

Did you change the org unit value from the txn PPOMV_BBP. Just try to enter the numerical part displayed for the root vendor org unit ID.
Not sure but you can also try maintaining table BBP_MARKETP_INFO and then check if it works.

As I'm customizing Lead creation (and in a second step lead generation)
I would like to receive tips about "selection of organizational unit and attributes for org. unit".
I expected that, by entering a BP number of a prospect or sold-to party, the organizational unit and its attributes would be displayed automatically on the tab "organization".
This is not the case. When I start the lead creation, there is a pop-up screen inviting me to choose the organizational unit. afterwards a pop-up screen for the attributes of the org unit. Only after setting a flag in both pop-ups, I see the actual "lead" transaction. When I enter a BP number, the sales assistant and sales rep are found automatically.
Could anybody please explain how to change the customizing?
I would like to see the lead transaction (create) first, enter a bp number and than have the org unit and its attributes, the sales rep and sales assistant found automatically.
Any usefull answer (would make my day ), will be rewarded.
Thank you very much for your suggestions and time in advance!

this is happening because you have not done the org data determination in your transaction, just go to SPRO and there in org data determination ,you have many standard ORGMAN rules available which you can use which will pick the data according to the user ,BPs etc.
it will enable you to first give BP and then the org data will be driven automatically from the system according to the rule in org data determination.
so first go and use rule ,try using rule ORGMAN_12
then attach this rule to the org data profile and then add this org data profile to the transaction in basic settings in transaction where you have defined your lead transaction.
it will solve your purpose

No value found for Organizational Unit BILL_ORG
Hi Experts,
I am creating a Service transaction - Incident and then creating a follow up document (RFC). Upon saving the follow up document the system shows the following error:
An error occurred in system FEDCLNT200 during account assignment
Message no. CRM_ORDER_MISC 060
Orgfinder: No value found for Organizational Unit BILL_ORG (Notification E CRM_OFI 002)
I am not using any billing unit and do not even require one - also made settings for billing unit in Master data>Organization Management> Cross-system assignment of Org.Units... but still facing the same error
Kindly help.
Regards.Hi Amit,
It has been a long time since I have seen this issue. As far as I remember, and also mentioned in my answer, if distributing the document to another system is not part of your process / requirement, then simply switch off the distribution via status management and transaction control.
Select the status profile and add transaction control to the status on which the error shows up.
Hope it helps !
Haseeb.
