Hi Pablo,
Are you logging in with the default (English) language? The application always accesses data using the logon language, so if you logon with English it will look for objects with English texts. Likewise, if you login with Spanish it will look for objects with Spanish texts. This is entirely independant from the Language Pack, as that just provide captions.
If you have not enabled the Spanish language, then you need to amend LangFields.txt in SettingsResources to add Spanish. Make sure you make the changes in your build configurations .delta folder. If the file does not exist, copy it from the SettingsResources file outside of the .delta folder to the SettingsResources file in the .delta folder.

  • Extraction error in OrgChart 3.0 SP1

    Hi Experts,
We are implementing the OrgChart 3.0 SP1 for staged environment. after configuring the extractor when I run the extract it shows the following error.....and extraction is fail.
    4167. 15 Jul 2011 11:24:17 ERROR com.nakisa.Logger - SAPExtractorProcessor.processOutputTables() : Table source 'PA0001' not found in output tables
Can anyone help to resolve this?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
My work around was to change
    <dll>Nakisa.SAP.Custom.OTFProcessor</dll>
    <class>Nakisa.SAP.Custom.OTFProcessor.BAPI_SAP_OTFProcessor_Report_Lite</class>
    to
    <dll>Nakisa.SAP.SAPeProcessor</dll>
    <class>Nakisa.SAP.SAPeProcessor.RfcReadTable</class>
If you can get build 377 then all the better.
    Good luck!

  • Nakisa OrgChart 3.0 SP1- Staged extracting only active employee

    Hi Experts,
We have OrgChart 3.0 SP1 Staged environment. It extracts only active employees. Itu2019s not extracting other employee having other employment status (say inactive- employee who are on maternity leave for example).
How we can set extraction so that we can see all the employee in organization irrespective to the employment status?
    Thanks
    Dave

Luke is right about STAT2 being employment status and how to remove it.  But rather than simply removing it, then confirm your requirement more clearly by looking at the various employment statuses you have defined and which ones you can need (or can exclude).
Also you might need to extract PA2001 (Absences) if you have a requirement around maternity leave (although I would still expect these to be 3 - "Active" employees!) and write some explicit logic in the joinconfiguration.xml to include employees you wish to see in the OrgChart and exclude those you don't.

  • Nakisa OrgChart V3.0 SP1: Printing Issues

    Hi,
    We're using Nakisa OrgChart VSN30 SP1.
We have a few issues about printing:
    1. Tiling. When I go to tile a large Org Chart, even though Nakisa shows the page separator lines and no margins u2013 each page does have a margin cuts out portions of the printed Org Chart.
    2. Font for "printing/Header" and "ChartBook/Cover or Head". "Calibri" is our company's Standard font but not included in the font choices in Nakisa.
BTW, the sector of Print and Export in Nakisa's Help Document for OrgChart VSN30 SP1 has different screenshots of "Basic Print Wizard" from what we have.
    Thanks,
    Hongling

    Hongling,
Just to add that I had a client on 3.0 who did some very extensive testing of printing and exporting.  They too had issues using tiling that have been confirmed as not present in SP2.  I can't say for sure if your issue is or not without trying.
Is SP2 an option for you at this point?
If not, then OSS seems the only way to go.
If SP2 is an option, then it is worth considering but you might want to seek some assurance about whether this issue is resolved first.
    Regards,
    Stephen
P.s. By the way, did you get anywhere resolving your other print issue "different printers"? I notice it is still open on this forum.

  • OrgChart 3.0 SP1 - Sub Category Groups configuration?

According to the Admin Guide the Sub Category Groups configuration in Admin Console would allow me to group similar records within the same org chart box.  I assume the Sub Category Filter will define the criteria for sorting the records but there is no description / example/ guidance on what the syntax should be for this field. 2 different results I would like to achieve are:
    (1)  to list names of multiple incumbents for one position in a box, rather than simply showing the phrase "multiple incumbents".
    (2) to hide the whole group of multiple incumbents for a position, based on the Employee Group.
    Any assistance appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Clementine

    Hi Clementine,
I would suggest that you apply a filter to the data element. You can do this in the AdminConsole via OrgChart > Positions > Data Connection (that is "Positions" directly under "Organization Structure"). Add a filter, such as:
    where EmpGrp != '9'
You can also do this for the Employees hierarchy too ( OrgChart > Employees > Data Connection ).
Please note that the field for exclusion must be a hierarchy field, i.e. it must exst in the list of Fields under OrgChart > Positions > Fields. You may have to change the data element configuration file in order to achieve this.

  • Nakisa Orgchart 4.0 SP1 add photos

    Good day,
I am new to Nakisa and it is my task to add photos for Orgchart in Nakisa.
We want to add employee photo's into the org chart in Nakisa but currently
do not have photo's in SAP R/3 the physical file will be stored on SAP Livelink
server. I know that the file name must be the same as the personnel number, how
do I link the files to be displayed in Nakisa?
    Jaco

    Jaco.
I've only ever configured portrait images for inclusion from SAP directly or from a portraits folder in the OrgChart images directory with the PERNR as the file name.  So what follows is more how I would approach the problem rather than a guaranteed solution.
The admin guide says "Enter the Portraits Path to the folder that stores the image files. Employee portraits are stored as separate files in a folder under the main application directory. [application directory]/images/Portraits is the default folder path.", but I think I would first put the base URL to the images location on the SAP Livelink server into the folder path.  Then switch OrgChart into Basic mode and review the result.  In basic mode the output is HTML (no flash), so you can review the IMG tag SRC attribute.
I'm assuming in the above that the SAP Livelink server will host the requisite images in a single browsable folder.  i.e. every portrait image will be accessible via a url like http://livelink/somefolder/{pernr}.jpg where {pernr} changes for each employee but the rest of the URL remains constant.  If this isn't the case then it would certainly be more complex; possibly to the point of not being worth the effort?
If it didn't work straight off (I expect it might not - I think it might prefix a "/"), I would then review the XSL for the views and details panels using the portrait images.  I've a feeling a tweak to any templates (e.g. getImagePath) that generate the image path could allow the URL to be applied correctly.
I can appreciate that for someone new to Nakisa that making changes to the XSL might sound less than ideal ... generally it is best to try and stick to using the AdminConsole as you'll need to understand what files do what and the use of the .delta folder structures as a minimum.
So if that is a bit too far outside of your comfort zone (and you don't want to bring in someone from Nakisa or a Nakisa Partner to help with it) then I would suggest setting up a batch job to periodically copy any new portrait images from where they are stored on the SAP Livelink server to the portraits directory on the OrgChart server and then simply configure the portraits path as per the directions in the admin guide.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Stephen.

  • Updating Views in OrgChart 2.1 doesn't work.

I have Nakisa OrgChart 2.1 SP1 running on SAP CE and a staged extraction out of SAP ERP all hosted on Windows and SQL.  All is working ok, however I want to add the Position ID to one of the position views.
Using the Admin Console I can drill down into the Position Views and add the postion id fine.  After the save and publish and restart, the change does not appear.  If I go back into the Admin Console the field is still in the view.  If I enable and disable the views they disappear from the OrgChart as expected.
Editing the views just doesn't seem to work.
I suspect I will have to dive down to the XML level but I am unsure which files are the correct ones?  Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Jon,
What may be the case is that the XSL file that controls the formatting for the view explicitly mentions the field names as opposed to dynamically reading through the data set passed in the XML to them.  I've seen this in 3.0 OrgChart for sure only yesterday and had to amend the XSLT directly to include the position id in brackets after the position name.
Therefore I would add your fields, as you have, then locate the XSLT file used (for this you will need some knowledge of XML and ability to read AppResources.XML as well as PresentationResources.XML).  Once you have identified you can amend the XSLT to include the new field.
To narrow it down, I'd be pretty confident that the XSLT is in the Templates_SAP sub folder.  Looking at the names you might even work out which it is!  You can make a "dummy" change to the file to test if it is the right one (i.e. add your initials in a suitable place and see if appears in the application).
1 more tip ... XSLT file changes are read immediately, just click on the application (i.e. expand / collapse) a node to get it to refresh and pick up your change.
    Hope that helps,
    Stephen

  • OC 3.0 SP1 Multiple incumbents data merged in Pos View and Details Panel

In OrgChart 3.0 SP1 we have some instances where there are multiple holders for a position (e.g. 2 people job sharing at 50% each).  For all employees the requirement is to display additional data for Employee Group/Subgroup (text), Payscale (Basic Pay IT0008) as well as the standard position/org unit information.  For multiple incumbents there are some negative impacts to the data display and any suggestions on how to resolve these issues would be very welcome.
    1. Details Panel
If additional fields and data elements are added using the Admin Console, for multiple incumbents the data for each employee displays without distinguishing clearly which employee the data belongs to.  So the first employee's name appears, followed by all data for all employees below.
Alternative approach was to try to display the data through the Employee Profile (as separate Profile tabs appear for each employee) by editing the XML files.  However, the Profile seems to regenerate in such a way that the additional data for both employees appears in the first employee tab and the 2nd employee tab only contains the basic standard position-org unit information.
What is the best way to distinguish each set of data for an employee in the Details Panel?
    2.  Position Box View
In the Position Standard View the box shows "Multiple Incumbents" instead of the specific employee names (although these appear if you mouse over).  To list the names separately within the box, in a previous post we had the suggestion to modify the template file.  However, on closer investigation there appear to be approx 500 instances in 40 files for the relevant views that may need modification.
Is there a more targeted way to do this?
I would be very interested to know how others have configured / dealt with the data for multiple incumbents in their org charts and details panels.
    Thanks
    Clementine

    Hi Clementine,
I hope all is well down under
    1. This is a known bug that is resolved in SP2. If you cannot upgrade to SP2 you can delta-merge the changes into SP1, although this is not so easy for the unexperienced. OSS might be able to provide some comprehensive instructions, but I would advise to upgrade to SP2 if possible (although, again, if you've already configured or customized any part of the Position or Employee details then you need to delta-merge the changes anyway).
    2. This is standard functionality in the Organization Structure with linked Positions. The alternative is to use the Organization Structure that has linked Employees instead. This will display the structure as you are expecting it.
Let us know if you need more assistance.

  • Unable to save current orgchart

    Hi,
We are using OrgChart 3.0 SP1
I get the following warning when I try to save current orgchart and there aren't any other previously saved items.
"You have exceeded the maximum number of saved items for your user profile. Remove a previously saved item before saving a new one."
Is this because we're using "Store user preferences in cookie" as the user preference storage option and the maximum size for cookies is 4KB?
Is there a way to change the maximum size for cookies? We're not able to save any of the orgcharts when they're expanded.
    Thanks!

The 4Kb limitation is a browser one, not a Nakisa one.
    (link: [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/640938/what-is-the-maximum-size-of-a-web-browsers-cookies-key])
Ideally, you should look to store user preferences in a DB but of course this requires some tablespace (somewhere).  Using a DB offers advantages on size and also means preferences are available wherever you log in (as opposed to cookie which is stored on a local PC).  Also if you are in a Citrix env then cookies don't "travel" with you between Citrix app servers which causes the user to get strange behaviour.

  • Nakisa issue with OrgChart dara

    Hi Colleagues,
We have an issue with OrgChart data, We are in OrgChart 4.0 sp1 and use SAP structurals auth.
When we try to login to Nakisa Portal, the system doesn´t load any orgchart data for the employees, I have checked the logmanager and show the follow message:

    Albano.
    1) Rolling the log then logging in will give you a log of just the login.  That may highlight a relevant earlier error or that the error you found is possibly not related.  Rolling the log, performing just the actions to create the issue and then reviewing the log is recommended.
    2) I haven't heard of a "Nakisa Portal" application.  Could you screen shot where it shows this name?
    3) I would suggest standardising on one version ... and the one that is working would seem the logical one.
    4) So worth a check then.
    5) What did you upgrade from?  Could this post on add-on upgrade issues be relevant?
I've only seen reference to an "RF" add-on once before (actually the same as the one here) - ref. this post.  I've never come across it apart from this.  Judging by the name I could only infer that they are in fact different, but I'm afraid I don't know what the technical difference is.  Do you know where it came from (direct from Nakisa/SAP, from SAP Marketplace, ...)?

    Stephen.

  • How to deal with custom object in OM for Nakisa security

    Hi All,
We are implementing OrgChart 3.0 SP1 for live environment.
We have custom object in OM. Structural Authorization is based on that custom object. (The custom object is displayed as custom field in IT0001 (Org Assignment). Also we are using Org Key. The combination of custom field + org key decide the structural authorization)
Does Nakisa security work on this kind of structural authorization ?
Does this required any development efforts? OR we can make it with configuration changes? What are the changes required and where to do it?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Luke,
    Thanks for the reply.
When I  selected the security authentication option SSO with log on ticket, it shows the following error
Login Failed. Either you are trying to access the application outside of portal. Or the Portal issued ticket is rejected or expired
when I changed it to SSO with log in ID and Password, it shows the following error,
Error: Application error occurred during the request processing.
      Troubleshooting Guide https://sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/jstsg/home
Details: WebApplicationException log ID is [005056943A3100EA000000000000B294].
Can you please give any inputs?

  • Nakisa Org Chart 2.1 - excluding org units from extract and saving chart

    Hi,
Is it possible to exclude specific org units from the org chart that is extracted to Nakisa? These (and all subordinate) org units should not be included in the chart which is to be published on the intranet.
Also, what is the easiest way to create a file (e.g. PDF, PowerPoint) of all org units and positions in the structure? I've looked into using the ChartBook functionality but this did not seem to work too well, and there was no option to Save or Print the chart.
We have Nakisa OrgChart 2.1 SP1 running on SAP CE. This is with a staged extract out of SAP ERP which is hosted on Windows and SQL.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Stephen and Luke.
I will look into your comments re: excluding org units from the directory searches etc when next at the customer site.
As for the Chartbook issue - the customer is looking to create a file (e.g. HTML, PDF) of the entire org structure which they can then make available on the intranet. (They currently only have license for a couple of HR users so ESS access is not an option right now). We have looked at using the standard Print/Export options as well as the Chartbook and neither seems to work particularly well....the customer keeps referring back to how easy it is to create a HTML file using OrgPublisher....
What is the recommended and best approach for creating a file which can be published on a company's intranet? (There are about 1000 positions/employees in total so not a huge file).
Hopefully v3.0 is a whole lot easier to use
    Thanks, Ron

  • AD authentication

    Hi colleagues,
We have an issue with AD form login, Nakisa OrgChart 4.0 SP1 built 0910026400. We have configured Nakisa AD form connection and user can login to OrgChart Application, we see in the up-right corner username: domain\user and the system can load OrgChart data (bases in sap structural authorizations)
We think that OrgChart can’t read SAP data because it tries to connect SAP using Domain\user.
If we debug the RFC_READ_TABLE (the first call after logon process) we have seen this:
The call to the RFC_READ_TABLE is done by using the correct login user. If we take a look to the OPTIONS table we can see that the uname parameter is initialized with ‘Domain\user’. This implies that the select always will fail because ‘Domain\user’ is not a valid SAP user:
It seems very strange the presence of the domain name in the options table. First of all because that will cause problems to obtain the correct authorizations, and in second place it seems that the next RFC’s calls are trying to use as uname for logon SAP the value Domain\user.
has anyone had the same problem?
    thank for your help.
    Albano

    Hi Albano,
Usually your AD authentication configuration should specify the field in AD that contains the user you would use to connect to SAP.
    Best regards,
    Luke

  • Nakisa query related to photos getting extracted from Sharepoint

    1.       Is it possible to store photos in a Microsoft sharepoint environment and link them from there to Nakisa & ESS/MSS.
    2.       If possible what are the effort/cost to do that?
    3.       If not possible what are the reasons?
    4.     If we upload the photos via XSS, storing photos on Livelink and from there to Nakisa is there any licence implications

    Ravindra.
I'm afraid I can't answer all of your questions, but hopefully there's something useful in my responses below...
    1.       Is it possible to store photos in a Microsoft sharepoint environment and link them from there to Nakisa & ESS/MSS.
Officially, Nakisa applications are configured to access employee portrait images stored in a local folder or directly from SAP (ref. Admin Guides for Nakisa apps).  However if the user has access to the images stored in Microsoft SharePoint via a direct URL then technically this should be achievable.
With regards to ESS/MSS I'm afraid that isn't an area I've a great deal of technical familiarity with so I really wouldn't know.
    2.       If possible what are the effort/cost to do that?
Assuming the images are stored as JPG files with a file name of the PERNR of the employee and they are stored using a consistent base for the URL (by that I mean the URL for each employee would only vary in the filename/PERNR ... the rest of the URL is always the same), I think it would just be a case of amending the XSL for the relevant views and details panels.  In terms of effort (to configure, test and document) I would expect this to be of the order of hours rather than days or weeks.  But that is with all of the assumptions above, that the person doing it understands the underlying architecture of the configuration (in particular the relevant XSL) and at the end of the day this is just a ballpark sort of estimate.
With regard to ESS/MSS I don't know how much effort it would be to integrate the images.
    3.       If not possible what are the reasons?
If the URLs and file names were more variable then the complexity may be more than is reasonable to handle in XSL.  At worst, you could approach Nakisa to build a custom solution to do this.  The constraints would of course be time (including availability of resource) and money.
Again I've no idea with regards to ESS/MSS.
    4.     If we upload the photos via XSS, storing photos on Livelink and from there to Nakisa is there any licence implications.
I'm afraid I've no idea of licensing implications with regards to these.  Since this is again not something directly supported in configuration out of the box by Nakisa I would say that there's nothing on the Nakisa side.  I would suggest that the Livelink licensing should be your focus for researching this question as that would in effect be the host system.
You may also want to take a look at the Nakisa Orgchart 4.0 SP1 add photos post from earlier this month as this also referenced Livelink.  Perhaps Jaco Ellis who asked that particular question would have some additional insight into any licensing implications?
    Regards,
    Stephen.
