OS X 10.5.6 update warning.

After installing the 10.5.6 update on my Master boot up drive, all my internal drives ( 4 ) now read maximum capacity at 128 gig in Disc Utility ?
They are actually, in the real world. 160, 300, and 500 gig ????
Be careful and back everything up before you install 10.5.6 !

What model G4 do you have? You need to add this info to your profile.
Look at these links.

Possible Alternative - SpeedTools ATA Hi-Cap Support Driver: Allows the use of extended capacity ATA drives (drives greater than 128 Gigabytes in size) on older (Pre Mirrored Door) G4 and G3 Macintoshes running MacOS X versions 10.2 and later. Cost $24.95

Possible Alternative 2 - Larger than 128GB drives can be used by adding a PCI ATA/100 or ATA/133 controller card, one which is 48-bit LBA compliant; or by adding a PCI SATA controller card and using SATA drives.

  • How do I disable the Flashplayer Update Warning?

    Hi Guys
I'm working on a small SWF as part of a webpage I'm designing. I have a swf banner already on the page and that works fine. But when I test the page, with the additional swf in IE9, using the latest player version, IE9 displays a blank white box instead of the animation and a message saying I need to update my Flash Player (which is fully up to date!) However the swf does work if I publish it as version 9 or below (although I get a message below the swf saying I must update to a newer Flash Player version!!!)
I've posted on the Flash Player Forum about the technical Flash Player issues but I'm getting irritated by this Flash Player update warning that is part of the CSS (and pops up often). Unfortunately (as a newbie) everytime I try and take the newer version code out I keep getting a bit of a mess. Can anyone tell me which lines of code I should remove or replace from below please (I hope I have copied all the relevant section of code)? Apologies. It is only local at the moment.
    Regards,
    Graham

Apols for delay in feedback. The good news is both your solutions work for IE9 and I went with "commenting" to solve the problem, bbbuuuttt the bad news is both solutions impact on Firefox and when I open that browser the swf objects do not display at all (just blank white oblongs with commenting and a blank box for the header and nothing at all for the 2nd swf when I tried your replacement option). That's bizare. Is there a piece of code I'm missing or something I need to adapt for FireFox (I'm running the latest version)?

  • "Document Flow cannot be updated" warning msg in GR for STO

    Hi All,
I get a warning when I try to do GR for a STO (Oub Deliver created for this STO and PGI done...and stock is in Stock in Transit).
    What does this warning mean?
    Thanks in advance!
Edited by: Duke Dukester on Oct 9, 2008 2:44 AM

    Hi,
I think you are trying Goods Receipt in receiving plant w.r.t. Stock Transport Order instead of Outbound Delivery.
As per SAP recommendation, GR in receiving plant should be done w.r.t. Outbound delivery not STPO so that it will update Sales Document Flow also along with PO History.
In MIGO, try Goods Receipt --> Outbound Delivery instead of Purchase Order and then check.

  • How to stop a daily update warning?

Once a day, my mac keeps asking me if I want to install an update for my printer then says it's not available after I click update. This is strange cause when I go in the systeme updater, it says no updates are needed. Is there any way I can stop this daily warning? It's just get anoying to get this everyday.

You can hide the unwanted update, if you want.
Launch and sign into the App Store.
Click the "More" button if you have more than one updates.
Right click the update you want to hide and select "Hide Update".
To see hidden updates again, click the store menu and select "Show All Software Updates".
    Best.

  • InDesign 5.0.1 Update Warning

    Hi
A word of warning for anyone about to upgrade InDesign to 5.0.1.
On my Mac I have both the debug and release versions of InDesign CS3. The release version is in the default '/Applications/Adobe InDesign CS3' folder, while the debug version is in '/Applications/Adobe InDesign CS3 Debug'. I started up the debug updater, which asked me for my password but then left me alone while it installed the patch into '/Applications/Adobe InDesign CS3', breaking the release version. At no point did it ask me where to find the program.
Fortunately the damage was easily reversed by applying the release patch, and I managed to upgrade the debug version by a bit of folder renaming. However, it would have been nice of the updater to give me a chance to tell it where the InDesign CS3 Debug version was. I imagine most plug-in developers have both release and debug versions installed.
Actually, Adobe could solve this problem completely by giving the debug version a different program name. That would make it dead easy to install alongside the release version, without any renaming on the user's part. I still don't know how to install both the release and debug versions on a PC.

I can use 3G any carrier. but voice call, i cant.

  • IOS 5 Update Warning for iPad 1 Users

If you sync to multiple computers you may loose all your Apps and data when you update your iPad 1 from iOS 4 to iOS5.
iTunes is SUPPOSED to back up all your Apps and data before the update, and is SUPPOSED to restore them afterward.  This is not how it worked for me. Either Apps were simply not restored, or were not backed up in the first palce -- either way, they are all gone.
I can re-download them, if I can remember them all and have the several hours to do so.  However, all your data will be gone.  For example, I had an irreplaceable library of documents in my GoodReader App that are now gone for good, despite having synced daily to two computers.
WARNING ADVICE:  If you have applications and data that are irreplaceable, make sure you find another way other than iTunes to back up your information before performing this update.
Another reason why iPad is not ready for the business enterprise environment.

I've tried that numerous times this morning without any joy. Screen just goes black then when I let go of the buttons it goes back into the 3 screen loop.
    BUT.....
I don't know if it's a timing thing but I just tried holding down both buttons as soon as the first Apple logo screen appeared and it popped back into recovery mode
It's currently running the restore and so far so good, fingers crossed !

  • Numbers update warning, however, Numbers is up-to-date

    Hi,
When trying to open a spreadsheet in numbers, I get the warning that I need a newer version of numbers to open the spreadsheet. However, numbers is up to date (version 3.2.2). Also, the App store says there are no updates available.
The problem only occurred after I opened that spreadsheet on my iPad (running ios 8).
My macBook pro (mid 2010) runs OSX 10.9.5.
Can anyone help me fix the issue?
I tried updating software, restarting Numbers and restarting the computer.
    Thanks,
    Ive

    Hi Ive-P,
While Numbers 3 is installed '09 is still on your machine. If you try to open a 3 file from '09 you will get that message. Wayne has a fuller explaination here.

  • How to dismiss "This plug-in may require an update" warning

Like in this thread, if a Audio unit plug-in crashes during launch, GarageBand will block that plugin, presumably until a later version is installed.
An error has occured with an installed Audio Unit plug-in.
GarageBand unexpectedly quit while trying to use the Audio Unit “Magic keytar” by “Jan Hammer software LLC”.
This plug-in may require an update.
You may still desire to try to run the same plugin again, but the message (and the blocking) remains on each launch. Even when removing that plugin. Bad mojo.
The solution turns out to be simple, the plugin "blacklist" is stored in
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache
that is, within the user's library folder. Simply delete this file (it's a cache, and will be regenerated) and the plugin can be run again.

Update the plugin or delete it.
Kontakt 4 is a 32 bit plugin, it won't run in Logic Pro X
    You need Kontakt 5

  • Os 10.6.4 Update Warning! WarningI WarningI

I have downloaded the latest update for Snowleopard and it has destroyed all links on my computer. I advise that you do not downloads the update. I have been doing my phd for 3.5 years and am in the final stages of editing typos and footnotes in my dissertation. I have now lost the link between endnotes and my word document. Does anyone have any advice on recovering the situation.
Also the Itunes update was corrupt.

Your corrupted word document was not caused by the software update. Just restore your previous copy from your backups and you should be good to go.
Have you checked your hard drive with Disk Utility for volume corruption? All sorts of problems can occur on disks with directory corruption, especially after installing updates.

  • Strongly recommend that I update: "Warning: You're using an insecure version of Firefox. You must update." But I can't

I have been receiving strong recommendations to update: "Update Available. A security and stability update for Firefox is available: Firefox 12.0. It is strongly recommended that you apply this update for Firefox as soon as possible." When I click on "update," I get a message of trying to connect, and a bar with a blue spiral. It lasts for hours, but never connects.
I would like to install this update, but can't figure out how to do it. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

The OP is on a Mac, so suggestions for Windows won't help.

  • Snow Leopard Security Update Warning

Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet on this forum, for those of us still using Snow Leopard, there is a growing number of reports that the latest security update hoses Rosetta. See the Snow Leopard forum elsewhere in the Apple Support Communities as well as http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/snowleopard/index.html#d02feb2012

Since I didn't install the Security Update, I didn't lose Rosetta, so I haven't tried the following, but in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17484448#17484448 there is a discussion of a possible solution. The Google translation of the referenced link here: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.macbidouille.com%2Fin dex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D354758%26st%3D60&tl=en suggests it's an easy fix, at least if you've got a backup or Time Machine backup. Again, I haven't tried this so use at your own risk, but it sure looks easier than reinstalling Snow Leopard.

  • Latest iPod updater: WARNING

    Hi,
As a teacher constantly switching from my iMac at home to PCs at school, I have been using my windows formatted iPod on both kinds of computers, the automatic synchronization being done on the mac at home.
I performed the latest iPod update (windows version) today, and my mac could no longer synchronize to iPod.
I had to go back to the former windows version of the iPod updater (2006-01-10).
Now everything is back to normal.
So, if you want to go on using your iPod in both worlds, beware!
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

"So, if you want to go on using your iPod in both
    worlds, beware!"
Apple isn't stupid. The whole reason they formatted
the iPod for Windows is so you can have the
best of both worlds. Something must be messed with
    yours.
Of course Apple isn't stupid... and their updates have never caused any problem...
What am I to imagine such an occurence?
As you suggested, "mine" must be messed, though it is currently working fine with the previous update.
I will therefore trash it rightaway and order a new one, which I will duly update with the latest windows updater.
    With thanks & best wishes,
    J.S

  • IPod software updates -- WARNING

I was just asked to update my iPod software. In the past this has been a seemless process without any problems. Click update, carry on with life. This time it wiped my iPod clean. Then it told me it couldn't recognize my iPod. I had to restore the #@%& thing before I could get iTunes to recognize the iPod it's been updating for a good year. Then, of course, it proceeded to just download everything, which is what I didn't want it to do. I thought that was supposed to be the beauty of iTunes 7, a more specialized streamlined updating process. NOT! What's up with that?
It's like iPod/iTunes/Apple has suddenly gone Alzheimer's on us. First it's those accursed batteries. No, not the ones on recall; the others, that get so hot you can hardly touch the area on your computer. (I also think it's somehow connected to that magnetic power plug--who thought that up? and Why?)
I hope this software glitch gets fixed soon, because this is a total pain.

    Hello Aggers,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
It sounds like you have a 1G iPod Touch. In that case you should check out this article on purchasing the 3.1 update.

  • Tiger 10.4.4. Update WARNING! (CHUD)

For those who use CHUD tools to disable Nap mode (because of high pitch whine and other weird processor and firewire noises)
I recommend to uninstall older version of CHUD tools.
After I did software update my fans always started to get crazy 2-3 minutes after booting. No matter which app I started, even if any. The fans went so fast and loud I thought they are thinking that the 10.4.4. update turned them into some Rolls-Royce engines (used to "move" airplains) and they probably decided to fly my Mac away...
Then I realized I can not connect to the Internet, because my USB cdma modem "did not exist" even if I checked the connection and the power-on statement...
I uninstalled the CHUD tools and the problems were gone.
There is a new version of CHUD tools from 2006-10-01 available here: http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/
    dualG5 2,5GHz 3,5GB RAM WDRaptor drives(no Raid)   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Yamaha 01x, i88x, motu828, MidiExpressXT

    to ifwuh:
this "chripping" noise is known mostly / and only probably when using firewire interfaces. Many G5 machines are affected-some people reported that changing PSU unit solved the problem....
After you install CHUD tools you have to reboot your Mac. Than will find new Processor pane under Preferences. Here you can untick (disable) Nap mode.
Good news is, that "the CHUD package installer no longer depends on the Xcode Developer Tools package being installed"
(taken from it's latest release notes)....
To everyone else: glad to see it helped
And tobytheuba: I haven't seen that movie, it seems that it is a horror movie right? No, I wasn't feeling SO bad because I knew that I am in OSX world, no Windows anymore, hence I hardly believed it must be solved immediatelly. And it was

  • Update warning regarding multiple displays

I installed an update on 11/19, just like all of the other updates that pop up; after the update, and each time I login, I get the following message:
"You have multiple Apple LED Cinema Displays attached. Please connect only one Apple LED Cinema Display to your Mac." I have two display cards driving two displays with no problems - why on earth would there suddenly be a concern that I should only be connecting one display?

The update in question is the Apple LED Cinema Display firmware update. The firmware update is designed for only one monitor at a time so that is why it is asking you to connect just one. Once both are updated you may resume your dual display activities.

This link tells more about the update, including the one monitor requirement.
