OsX in Spanish

Hi everyone.
I'm buying a mac in germany but I need the system in spanish. Can I re-install the system in spanish from the original installation disk that come with macs in Germany? Or is the spanish Os on a special disk?
Isn't this just a matter of selecting a language in the installation process?
Thanx,
Ingo

If you are buying your Mac new, it will have Spanish preinstalled. When you first turn it on, it will ask what language you want, and will continue to use that language until you change it.

If part of your issue has to do with Spanish-language accents, here's a guide (works everywhere in the Mac OS, not just within iWork):
    OPTION-e and tap a vowel gives you the acute accents  á é í ó ú
OPTION-n and tap n  gives you the  ñ
OPTION-1 gives you the inverted exclamation mark  ¡
OPTION-SHIFT- / gives you the inverted question mark  ¿

  • OSX Mountain Lion download Spanish - English

I live in Spain and bought Mountain Lion to upgrade Snow Loepard online via the Spanish App Mac Store.
They emailed me the licence agrremenet and codes to download.
My Aple user ID is English and when I try to see my purchases in the Spanish App Store to download it says that it's not possible wiht my ID (although I was able to purchase it without a problem on the Spanish App Mac store) and tranfers me to the English version of App Store which says I have 'no purchased apps'.
There are also no downloadable versions on the Apple Mac store website as they only have Mavericks availabe to download.
    Can anyone help please?

    There's been a development.
I managed to redeem my order in the App store after changing my ID to Spain.
First problem is they have sent me Lion when I ordered Mountain Lion. And I am bloody sure it was mountain Lion, why would I buy Lion for the same price??? I distinctly remember the picture so no idea how this has happened but it's very frustrating.
Second problem, it's in my 'purchases' but when you try and click on it, it trys to download then nothing happens. When you click on the item it says not currently available in the Apple store Espana!
I would love a refund but fear this could be even more complicated or impossible.
They have already taken the money out of my bank account.
I'm worried about trying to buy it again in case the exact same thing happens.
    Any ideas anyone?

  • Nokia C5-03 and Mac OSX Lion - Problems copying files to phone in Mass Storage mode

Whenever I try to load more than one file from my iMac (early 2008, OSX Lion 10.7.2) to my new Nokia C5-03 in Mass Storage mode —since the files are MP3s and Multimedia Transfer doesn’t seem to work at all, I keep on getting asked which transfer mode I want to activate for several times, I always choose Mass Storage, and then the first file starts copying, but when it ends with the first one I have to wait for ±30s only to get asked the same again and again until the second file starts copying, and so on.
It’s driving me crazy, I’ve tried setting in the USB connectivity options not to ask me for the mode when I connect the phone, but it doesn’t work either. It still goes very slow and a lot of “USB Mass Storage transfer mode activated” messages appear.
I’ve tested it with a friend’s C5-03 and it’s still the same, but when connecting them to a Windows computer everything goes great and fast. Has somebody had this problem before? Is there a solution to this? I don’t know if this is the correct board to post this, sorry if it’s not.
    Thanks in advance.
PS: Sorry if there are any mistakes or my English sounds weird, i’m Spanish.

    Hi,
Can you try the suggestions below?
-Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel (called Programs
and Features in Microsoft Windows 7).
Select Nokia Ovi Suite in the list of applications and click
    Change/Remove.
In the dialog that appears, choose Repair.
    - Click Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and repair
-Try creating the connection between your phone and computer
totally from scratch. Start by disconnecting your phone. In
Nokia Ovi Suite, select Tools > Options > My devices. Select
your phone at the top of the window and click Remove this
    device.
Then, select Tools > Add new device, and follow the
    instructions to reconnect the phone.
If this doesn't solve the problem,
-Uninstall the following programs withAdd/Remove Programs in
Control Panel (called Programs and Features in Microsoft
    Windows 7):
    Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    Nokia Ovi Suite
    PC Connectivity Solution
Then, download and install the latest version of Nokia Ovi
    I hope this helps.

  • Help Getting to OSX 10.6.8

    Hi everyone,
For the last few days I have been trying to sync the music on my MacBook with my new iPhone5.  First, when I tried to do so, I got a message saying I needed iTunes7 or higher.  When I tried to install iTunes7, it said I needed to be using Mac OSX 10.6.8 or higher.  When I tried downloading Mac OSX 10.6.8, it said I needed to be using Mac OSX 10.6 or higher.  So I purchased Mac OSX 10.6.3, waited several days for it to arrive in the mail and installed it.  Then I tried to download Mac OSX 10.6.8.  But it said I needed to be using Mac OSX 10.6.7.  When I tried to download Mac OSX 10.6.7, it said I needed Max OSX 10.6.6...and so on and so on.
My question: Is there any shortcut to this?  I now have OSX 10.6.3 installed on my MacBook.  Do I need to download 10.6.4...then 10.6.5...then 10.6.6...then 10.6.7...then 10.6.8...then iTunes...or is there some kind of shortcut?

download the 10.6.8 standalone combo update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399.  About the update: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4561.  Not sure why the right side of the linked artlicles are in Spanish.  Just click on the blue button in the first link to download it.

  • How do I view ical in spanish?

Since I updated to Mountain Lion OSX I view iCal one part in Spanish (Upper bar) and the other part in English (the name of the months, weekdays, date formats). Same thing happens with Contactos (AddressBook). How can I unify everything in only one language (Spanish)?

    Hi..
It's not a matter of language but the fact that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • How do i enable spanish in the safari dictionary?

I understand from the last sentence on description of the safari dictionary on the Apple website, Spanish should be supported.  But no definitions for Spanish words come up.  How do I enable Spanish?  Is it possible to obtain translations to English as well as definitions in Spanish?
    http://www.apple.com/osx/apps/all.html#dictionary
    Dictionary
    Words at your fingertips.
Find definitions and synonyms using the New Oxford American Dictionary and Oxford American Writer’s Thesaurus, which include over 250,000 words, in Dictionary. You can look up words directly from a variety of applications, including Safari and Mail. When you’re connected to the Internet, you can look up terms in Wikipedia directly from the Dictionary application. That means access to millions of articles written by thousands of people all over the world. Dictionary even includes a list of Apple terms and definitions — such as “Finder” and “AirPort” — that help you get to know your Mac better. And Dictionary includes support for British English, Japanese, Japanese translation, Japanese synonyms, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and German.

To enable dictionaries, you go to dictionary.app > preferences and check the box you need.
Apple doesn't supply a translation dictionary for Spanish, but you might be able to add it if you can find one somewhere:

  • Spanish characters in English keyboard?

    Hi all,
I have both British and Spanish language inputs from System Preferences so I can switch between them.
This constrains me to use the character palette. when typing Spanish.
Does anyone know the keystrokes for accented vowels in Spanish, using English keyboard?
    The characters are: á, é, í, ó, ú, ü and ñ
    Thanks in advance
    Dee
    iMac G5, 2.1 GHz, iSight   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

It is very easy to learn and remember the accents on the Macintosh keyboard, unlike in Windows which are done as ALT- 000, where 000 is some forgetable number.
You don't have to learn each specific instance, just the associated vowel which is most commonly used with it. The set of pre-keys works with the other vowels as well.
So for example the umlaut ¨is most commonly seen on the German ü so just remember the associated cmd u followed by whatever vowel after to get:
    option u = ä, ë, ï, ö, ü
    similarly
    option ` [under the esc key] = à, è, ì, ò, ù
    option e = á, é, í, ó, ú
    option i = â, ê, î, ô, û
    option n = ã, õ, ñ
Some work more directly such as:
    option a = å
    option o = ø
    option s = ß
    option b = ∫
    option c = ç
    option d = ∂
    opton f = ƒ
Some are more arcane but still memorable:
    option q = œ (think of an extended o)
option w = ∑ (think of turning the w on its side)
    option r = ® (fairly obvious)
    option t = †
    option y = ¥
    option p = π
    option v = √
    option m = µ
    option = = ≠
Usually the shift gets the capitalised version (doesn't work out 100% of the time).
This is what I love about the remarkable clear headedness and forethought that went into Macintosh design. Fortunately most of this has survived the transition to OSX.
Even if I don't specifically know which key does it a quick guess and try gets it for me.

  • Option for Spanish Speech Analysis greyed out

I'm trying to use the analyze speech feature in Premiere CC. I've some spanish interviews that I want to have Premiere transcribe, as I've heard it works pretty damn well. I've downloaded the Spanish language module and have it installed. It is the Latin American Spanish module for Mac OS, Premiere CC/CS6 version (I am running OSX 10.9.2). However, when I go into my project file and select a clip and right click>Analyze Content>Speech Analysis, the Speech Analysis dialogue box comes up, but with all options save English greyed (grayed) out, and have been unable to figure out why. Would much appreciate any help you might be able to lend with this.

Ok, after speaking to an editor friend in Argentina, I finally figured it out. It's not at all obvious, and you have to ignore where Adobe initially directs you – you don't install using the .dmg at all! You have to install direct from Premiere using Adobe Exchange. For anyone having a similar problem, check out this article here: Install additional speech libraries

  • How well does OSX Yosemite run on a Mid 2007 iMac?

I own a Mid 2007 iMac with 4GB 667Mhz DDR2 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz processor and has ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB graphics. I was considering upgrading from OSX Mavericks 10.9.4 to OSX Yosemite, but fear it may slow the Mac down. If anybody has upgraded their Mid 2007 iMac, does it slow the system down? Thank You.

Hi JRos23. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I also have a mid 2007 iMac (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) and I'm waiting on reviews like yours to evaluate if it is worth to take the leap and update. Last year I updated to Mavericks from Lion (skipped Mountain Lion) and it improved a lot on many fronts. However, it only felt smooth when I updated the RAM to 6GB. Apple specs tells us that this machine supports max 4Gb, though I found many people saying that it would support 1x2GB + 1x4Gb, and it does. I trully recommend it. If it helps anyone, I bought these: link (sorry, Spanish Amazon store).
However, seeing that you're having a good enough experience until now I will definitely consider it as near future project, maybe with 10.10.1. Is it really an improvement or are there any daily usage setbacks?
    Cheers,
    JP

  • OSX Lion is not supporting QubeeWCM

    just update to OSX lion.
I'm using WIMAX USB modem for internet connection. But i guess the Lion is not supporitng the QUbeeWCM software.
Please advice what should i do now!!!!

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Lion has possibly been hidden in your Purchases list.
    1. Open the Mac App Store
    2. Open the Featured pane
    3. In the Quick Links click on Account and sign in
    4. You should find an area for managing hidden apps
    5. Unhide Lion
