OTN download demands oracle support CSI before install

i downloaded fusion from the OTN site, and tried installing it on RHEL 5.5, headless. the response file template holds spots for the following variables:
MYORACLESUPPORT_USERNAME
MYORACLESUPPORT_PASSWORD
without them, you get an error. with my OTN login-email and password, i basically get the same error.
so what's the work around on this? if there is an OTN agreement to do evals, why is the installation code enforcing a customer support contract?

  • Do I need to install oracle database 10gr2 before installing Oracle applica

I am new to Oracle application server. I am going to install Oracle application server 10g. From what I read, it looks like I need to install oracle database 10gR2 first on the SAME server? Is that correct?
If I do so, oracle_home will be point to where? to the Oracle application server home directory, or oracle db directory?
Thank you very much for you help.

    hi,
Even i am new to oracle application server and had the same doubt that you have.
When you install Application Server there would be two tiers installed, application tier and middle tier, these tiers can be running from the same machine or different machines.
These tiers will have a meta data repository to store application server related data, this database will be installed along with application server.
It is upto you to install "oracle database 10gR2 " before or after installaion of application server, this will be an independent database which will have its own home, but after this installation you will have three homes, ex: infra_home,mid_home and 10gR2_home.
by default oracle_home is set to the last installation that happens so if you install the database 10gR2 after installing application server it will point to 10gR2_home, but if you install 10gR2 before and application server later then the oracle home will be infra_home(if both the middle tier and infratier are on the same machine)
you can always change the oracle home by using set ORACLE_HOME=path/to/oracle/home( in windows)
    or export ORACLE_HOME=path/to/oracle/home (in unix)
    hope this helps....

  • How to download iTunes 5.0.1 before installing 5.0.0?

Hello. A few days ago I downloaded iTunes 5.0.0 using System Preferences > Software Update. I did not install the program until some stability issues were resolved. Today I used Software Update to see if there was a new version, and there it was version 5.0.1. But not I cannot download it because software update says somethiing like "program downloaded, not installed". So, do I have to install version 5.0.0 to be able to download version 5.0.1? Is there a way to bypass this and download version 5.0.1? I don't want to install 5.0.1 right now, as I see there are some stability issues not resolved yet, but would like to download this version just in case.
Another related question: If I download a program directly from Apple's website without going via the Software Update, is there going to be a conflict? Like for example, Software Updte not detecting that I have downloaded or installed the program?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    RicMoli hello,
this link here will give you full instructions on how to install iTunes... you do not have to do it straight away... use the download link for iTunes 5.0.1 but do not install... when you do use the instructions and you should be okay...
If software update wants to update iTunes untick the box when given the option to update now
tip: have a backup copy of your iTunes Library file at all times
    take care ... TP

to use MyOracleSupport Communities you need to be part of an organization that gives you access to the the Support with a CSI - That is correct!Got it.
On the other side, working on this other Community will give you the opportunity to integrate the threads with all the contents available from Oracle Support.Even its good point, where we can look up into different communities.
By the way, I would like to clarify that the Community I'm advertising here is NOT replacing this OTN forum.
As you said, I just wanted to take the chance to advertise it in the interest of every customer who can access it.
Hope this helps.Thank you, But you know? still i like to give some good priority to OTN, why because. People who are learning and trying to explore their knowledge and who do not have CSI, where they can contact? they are really helpless. & Support community people all have CSI activiated they can raise SR any time.
Of course you are not asking to leave OTN, its just one of my point why i prefer OTN. but for sure will see threads from Community as well.

  • Adobe App Manager installs but won't work... "Download Error, Contact Support"

Downloaded the AAM through the creative cloud site, it installs and when run it shows this error message "Download Error, Contact Support."  I then downloaded the AAM as a package from Adobe support.  Before installing it I removed the previous install from my computer.  The program installed again but I recieved the same message.  I cannot download any apps from the Creative Cloud because of this.
I have searched the support pages and cannot find anyone having an error message like this one.

From the Creative Cloud web site, when I start a download of an app within one second the application manager opens and immediately gives me this error message.
I have not been able to download anything or sign in with my Adobe ID (using AAM).  I also get this same error message if I open the AAM from my computer.

  • Access (public) WebLogic patches without CSI / My Oracle Support?

    Hi,
I would like to access a (hopefully public) patch to upgrade from WLS 10.0.3.3 to WLS 10.0.3.4. I am using the (publicly available) server for development as a contractor.
However, downloading patches now requires to have a "My Oracle Support" membership. I think I had downloaded patches from BEA in the past without such a membership? To register for this service, a Customer Support Identification (CSI) is required. The complete WLS is publicly downloadable, so I do not understand why a support contract is required to access the patches?
Maybe there are other possibilities and someone here can help me?
    Regards,
    Gerd

I've got the exact same issue...I've got 11.2.0.1 installed using the developer license, and the application I'm running has some errors that stem from a bug that has been fixed in 11.2.0.2, but I can't find a way to access the patch without a CSI.

  • What directory are the RPM files in before installing Oracle?

    Hello
I am getting ready to install Oracle9i and one of the RPM files is missing so I downloaded it and will copy it to CD then to the hard drive. The question is:
    1) After I copy the RPM file to CD what directory do I copy the RPM file onto on the hard drive before installing Oracle?
    2) What directory are the other RPM files to be installed in before installing Oracle in?

There is no specific directory for RPM packages (in case we don't talking about builded rpm packages from src.rpm packages).
You can copy RPM package to and install from any directory. After succesfull installation you can delete it.
    Example:
    cd /tmp
    [ivan@ivan ~]$ cd /tmp/
    [ivan@ivan tmp]$ wget -q http://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/pub/fedora/6/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/zsh-4.2.6-1.i386.rpm
    [ivan@ivan tmp]$ su
    Password:
    [root@ivan tmp]# rpm -ivh zsh-4.2.6-1.i386.rpm
    Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
       1:zsh                    ########################################### [100%]
    [root@ivan tmp]# rm -f zsh-4.2.6-1.i386.rpm
    [root@ivan tmp]# rpm -qa|grep zsh
    zsh-4.2.6-1

  • ATTENTION Oracle Support! Fix the download problem please!

There've been several complaints about problems with downloading Oracle 8i and 9i from this site. I can't download it either (Windows XP with IE6).
OTN please respond on the issue.

    ORACLE SUPPORT:
Please just go to another PC somewhere else, maybe the next block and try downloading your own files!!!
You will be surprised to learn how difficult it is to just get a set of 9i installation zips that unzip without 1 CRC problem.
The downloads sets could be too big, so why not span them further or provide downloads for individual files!!!
Phew... I cannot but wonder what you people think at the world's number one database company. I reckon you are too comfortable working in the mighty corporation that you forget there are developers out there who face other daily work stress, and bad CRCs are just one more that they gladly love NOT to deal with.
    PLEASE!!! FIX IT....
Don't forget, you're still number one!

  • CSI - My Oracle Support

    Hello,
How can i set up a new CRMOD CSI to My Oracle Support Account. I know is not like the others oracle's products, but i don't know how.
    thanks.

Hi - you shouldn't need to have a CSI number to register with My Oracle Support. You just need to use the email address that is listed in your user profile in CRM On Demand to register. As long as you use the same email address, the system should recogize the CSI without you having to put it in. If that doesn't work for you for some reason, you'll need to contact CRM On Demand Customer Care to get their help.

  • Download Patch Set without Oracle Support Identifier

How do you download the Patch Set under the developer licences. I don't have a Oracle support identifier.
The relevance of this question is, when you have 4.2 on an Oracle Express instance how do you upgrade it to 4.2.1
Can the 4.2.1 full download be used?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The developer base volume and software application user volumes have to be miles apart. :-)
And commercial reality I expect will come from the user volume base (as in users using software built by developers).
It is the era of .99cent apps and that model is effective when you have large consumption. How about all forum users have a registration fee of $2.00? :-)
Anyway's the current scenario is not increasing take-up :-)
e.g. Developer downloads express edition, this comes with a version of apex. Along comes new apex version. Now what is the upgrade path to try/test the new features.
Keep in mind release cycles are shorter nowadays.
We live in the era of VM's now.
I want to be making 1 steps forward (upgrade apex) not 2 step back(export applications and misc, un-install apex) and then 2 steps forward (install apex, import applications and misc).

  • I downloaded Lion from the app store on to my iMac and did not save it to a thumb before installing.  Do I have to buy it again to install on my Macbook Pro and iPad or is there another way to do that?

I downloaded Lion from the App Store on to my iMac and did not save it to a thumb before installing.  Do I have to buy it again to install  it on my Macbook Pro and iPad,  or is there another way to do that?
All my electronics are about a year old.   iPad is Model MB293LL (4.2.1) only wi-fi - no phone.
MacBook Pro is  OSX 10.6.8 Build 10K549.  Also have an AT&T iPhone that I basically use as a Palm, since I changed carriers.
    Thank you for your help.
ps: I got an error message and it looks like this did not get posted the first time.  2nd try.

Open the Mac App Store on your MacBook Pro
Hold the Option key and click on “Purchases”
Hold the Option key and click on “OS X Lion” from the purchased app list
“Installed’ should now say “Install” which allows you to download OS X Lion.
This assumes you are using the same Apple ID on both computers.
Lion does not get installed on an iPad. It runs iOS.

I had my hard drive cleaned and cannot install cs6 master collection from disk.  I am getting error message failed to initialize.  please download adobe advisor support.  I am using a pc and have windows 8.  Please help.

start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.
    if cc (win):  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-application-failed.html
    if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.
if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:
