Outgoing e-mails stays in the outbox

I have the N95 and have it synched with my server at the office. For about 2 weeks I haven't been able to send e-mails from my phone, only receive and retrieve. No changes have been made that I know of. Can any updates to the server have anything to do with this, or something else that I am not aware of?

    I have a 2 server SharePoint farm.
    All outgoing emails were working fine.
    I just restarted both servers and now after that none of the emails are being sent. I am using OOB publishing workflow and it shows message:
    The e-mail message could not be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.
    Even if I setup Alert on some list, it doesn't send email.
    I have checked that outgoing email setting in CA is defined and like I said it was working fine without problems but after restart it is showing error.
    What could be the cause of this and how to fix it?
    EDIT
    I removed outgoing mail server in CA, added again and restart IIS but still emails from OOB workflow is not being sent. But email from Alerts are being sent. Don't know what to do now.

    This is really weird, It works when an alert is set but workflows doesn't send emails... Can you create a simple 1 Step workflow in SPD to send an email when a specific field is set. See if this sends an email..

    I have SP 2013, and it was working properly. and workflows send emails perfectly. yesterday, i decided to build a fresh site collection so i deleted the old one and created a new one. now, workflows are unable to send emails. i'm sure it has nothing to do
    with my mail server cuz no changes happened to it. i'm sure about the settings for outgoing mail on central admin. all i did, was to enter mail server IP in outgoing mail field and email below it.
    in the workflow status the status says "error" followed by this message: "The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly."
    Any help please?

    According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to send email after building a fresh site collection.
    I recommend to verify that you have entered your SMTP server name correctly.
    You can add it as FQDN e.g. ServerName.DomainName.

    How do you get mail out of the Outbox?  I've taken pictures and am trying to email them.  The emails are stuck in Outbox.

    Thanks Diggie, your response was very close.  I clicked on the email several times.  It came up and gave me the option to Send.  I clicked Send and my recipients received the email.
    I did not have to delete and reinstall my email account.

    Contact whoever manages your email server and ask them what ports and security to use for SMTP from remote locations. ISPs and email admins often require different SMTP settings when sending email when not connected to the server's or ISP's network.

  • Outlook 2010 and Mail Sticking in the Outbox

    This is a non-network question for Outlook 2010.  I am not using an Exchange server.  I am set up at home using Outlook 2010 on a home cable connection.  Every time I send an email it hangs in the Outbox.  There are no errors. 
    If I go to the Outbox and send it from there it sends without a problem.  I have tested the cable router and line with no problems.  Do you think it could be a problems with Outlook itself?  Please advise.

    I suggest you disable the firewall and anti-virus program to try again, they are more likely to cause this kind of issue.
    Moreover, there are several steps that we can try to troubleshoot this issue.
    We can start Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
    Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
    If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

    trying to send email and messages stay in outbox and won't go, using my ipad.  even hitting "try again" won't send.  my desktop Mac is fine

    My guess is you have a port number not set correctly in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [your email account]

    Go through it.  It may well help.  At worst, delete your email account and use the Mail Setup Assistant to set it up again.

    Maybe one of you can help me out since I can't find a solution.
    Since a few days I'm a proud owner of the new Nokia 6600i slide phone.
    My provider is KPN (HI) Netherlands.
    I also have a data subscription so I can use Internet and E-mail functionalities also.
    Now I've tried to install my KPNPLANET(home provider) mailbox om my phone.
    Most of this goes automaticly with the e-mail install wizard, but;
    Receiving e-mails goes okay, but sending (or answering) doesn't work.
    I don't get an error message, but the e-mails stays in the OUTBOX.
    I also installed my Hotmail account and that works fine. No problems with sending or receiving.
    I think it has something to do with my KPNPLANET provider, but I don't know what I have to change.
    Deleting and re-install the mailbox on my phone doesn't help.

    I also have a Nokia E71. Advantage with the E71 is that you can use Nokia Messaging.
    At first I had the same outgoing e-mail problem as with the 6600i slide, but since you can log in on internet for Nokia Messaging, you can change settings over there. That solved the problem for the E71. I had to delete al SMTP settings. Problem solved for E71.
    But the 6600i slide doesn't have this advantage, so I have to solve it somewhere on the phone itself, but I don't know how.

  • After migration from Xp to Windows 7 Email is getting stuck in the Outbox.

    We are using USMT 4.0 with all requisite patches for Office 2010 to migrate users from Windows XP to Windows 7. Some of our users are up and running but after a day or two they are unable to send emails and everything is getting stuck in the Outbox.
    At this time the only work around is to recreate the entire local profile. Once we do this the user is up and running without issues. Any assistance on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

    There are several reasons that may cause the email stuck issue, such as Outlook or the mail server is offline, An antispam or antivirus scanner is scanning outgoing mail, Wrong or bad password, or not authenticating properly with the mail server, the message
    is too large to send...

  • Sent mail just sits in Outbox. Why?

    All of a sudden yesterday, any mail I try to send from my mail app, the emails just sit in the outbox and it says, error-your server timed out on port xxx. Your mail will stay in the outbox till it can be sent.
    Sometimes it doesn't say anything.
    And I can't log in to my email only extra account on my dotmac....says my password was wrong, so I went and did the change password to the same password, and I still can't log on.
    This has happened before when messages stayed in outbox I was trying to send, then it stopped. Now, I can't send any email through my mail application.
    I can get mail.
    What's the problem?
    I installed Intego NetBarrier X5 last week, but it just started not sending mail yesterday.
    And when it happened before, I didn't have NetBarrier.
    This is so frustrating.
    Can anyone help?

    That worked. The funny thing is, it SAYS it sits in my outbox and I keep trying to send it, and the people actually GET it, sometimes three copies because I would keep trying. That's the weird thing also.....
    But you gave me the right port number and it worked.
    I wonder why the port number changed?
    I got Net Barrier from Intego and it shows what port you are using and it will use 4 different ports everytime I do mail. I don't know why it does that.
    But thanks. That did the trick.
    Don't know why that happens.
    This is the second time and I didn't even have Net Barrier before.
    It's just weird.

    When I bought my Blackberry Torch 9800 (2 years ago), I (somehow) managed to add some text giving my name, & my 2 business websites so that it appeared at the bottom of all outgoing e mails.  At the same time, I deleted the wording that said something like 'message sent from my Blackberry'.
    I now need to change the message (& also want to re-instate the fact that it comes from my Blackberry as this explains a brief reply when necessary'.)
    I don't think I did it from any settings on the mobile.  I think it was done 'somehow' on my main computer.
