Outlook 2010 - Cannot cancel a meeting as the organizer.

On Outlook 2010 I do not have a 'Cancel Meeting' option. I can delete a meeting but the only option is to notify the organizer...  but I am the meeting organizer. I need to be able to cancel a meeting and notify all of the attendees. I currently do
not have (or cannot find) this option!

This happens after activesync. If you disable activesync for problematic user's mailbox, calendar didn't change meeting organizer (cancel, update meeting buttons).
I found that - after meeting organizers mobile phone (nokia) synchronization,
some values of meeting organizer was changed.
You can look and compare organizer values (before and after sync)here:

rgould5,
There are three MAPI properties that Exchange clients can key off of for determining organizer information.  Here’s a quick summary
of what they are with details on how to inspect them using the  MFCMAPI tool mentioned by Ripu:
1.
For meeting requests, a Recipient table exists showing each attendee.  The organizer is represented here when PR_Recipient_Flags = 3
2.
PR_ Sent_Representing_Email_Address and/or PR_Sender_Email_Address
3.
named prop0x8217 dispidapptstateflags [can also show up as MessageStatus]
if the value is 1 = olMeeting it means you’re the organizer
if the value is 3 = olMeetingRecieved it means you received the item so you can’t possibly be the organizer
In your situation, the organizer seems to be modified on the calendar item in all three users’ mailboxes at the same time.  This
usually means an application that has privileges to each mailbox is the culprit.  Generally, if ActiveSync or an ActiveSync device is contributing to the problem, only the mobile device user’s calendar item would be affected.
The best approach is to inspect which organizer attributes are changed on each person’s calendar item.  Then, with careful repro steps, see if
you can identify the user or service account that is making the changes.  Take a look at the examples below:
Here’s the details of what Recipient Table looks like [requires MFCMAPI available
http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com from a PC with Outlook].  This isn’t a user friendly tool, but it’s very helpful in identifying what’s changed.
When you first launch the tool, select the menu item
Session, Logon and Display Store Table.
Now select an Outlook profile to login with
If you see
Mailbox - <username> in the list of display names you’re doing good.  Double-click this to launch the next window.
In this window, drill into the mailbox
MFCMAPI Recipient Table
-To find the appointment you’re troubleshooting, go to the calendar folder underneath IPM_SUBTREE.  Sorting by Subject will usually help get to
item quickest.  Select the item, and Action Menu(?) / and Display Attachment table.    You will see a list of recipients in a new window.  There should be a "3" in the PR-RECIPIENTS_FLAGS columb for the organizer.
- A healthy recipient table - the PR_RECIPIENT_FLAGS indicates whether a recipient is the organizer, or an attendee [this column is actually all the
way to the right ].  When the PR_RECIPIENT_FLAGS = 3, that indicates the organizer.  For example, if the delegate organized a meeting with the manager and E2k7 Native being the required attendees. PR_Recipient_Flag should be 3 for the Delegate.
If not, then the calender item was modified by something.
- Going back to the calender item,
PR_SENDER_EMAIL  shows Distinguished Name (DN) of the sender.
- Ok.  Back on the calender item, if the organizer is listed as wrong person, look to see the last person to modify the item.  Here’s
where you can find out what account last modified the calendar item.   Look at the Column "Property Names" for row PR_Last_Modifier_Name.  This is the account that last modified the item and is probably the culprit.
I hope this helps!

  • Outlook 2010 cannot use Secure Password Authentication

I am the administrator of the server running Microsoft Windows 2003 Server POP3 service since 2008. It hosts my email account. Nobody but me manages the settings of the server and the client side. Until the moment I decided to install Microsoft Outlook
2010 as a client there was Secure Password Authentication working between Outlook 2003 and Windows 2003 Server. After installing of Outlook 2010, when I try to sync, the SPA authentication doesn't work. Nothing is changed on the server side.
Enabling the SPA authentication on the both sides results a communicaton problem between Microsoft Windows 2003 Server POP3 service and Microsoft Outlook 2010 client. When I disable SPA on both sides the connection works but password is sent
as plain text. Actually I started a discussion on
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-outlook/outlook-2010-cannot-use-secure-password/66dafd66-1b00-43b5-96fb-b8a26254fc77 but I didn't receive an answer with a solution.

    Snefels,
This is actually a known issue that Outlook 2010 doesn't work well with Windows Server 2003 POP services.
Here is the blog post for the issue:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jjameson/archive/2010/04/26/outlook-2010-does-not-work-with-windows-server-2003-pop3-service.aspx
If you read the comments below, you'll found that some readers' shared some workaround/solutions, which reportedly works for others. So you might want to have a look.
Disable SPA on the Windows 2003 POP3 server and do the same in Outlook 2010 POP setup.. using the full email address, "[email protected]" instead of just doug (if using the Secure Password Authentication).

Outlook 2010 cannot save to archive folders listed. Message says that message was already moved or that user doesn't have permission.

    Hi,
Does this issue occur when you manually archive items in Outlook, do you drag them into the archive folder?
The first thing I wonder is if the .pst file has been corrupted, please run Scanpst.exe to repair the archive .pst file:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227/en-us
Please logon your Webmail(owa), check if the emails are available. If the emails have been moved and Outlook Client hasn't synced yet, this issue may occur as well.
We can also create a new .pst file to archive the file, check if the issue persists.
For more information, we can refer to Archive items manually:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/archive-items-manually-HA010355564.aspx
When you browse to the archive file in step 5, type in a new .pst file name.
If my understanding is not accurate, please detail your scenario and provide the exact error message.

  • Outlook 2010 : Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

    Hi
Using Outlook 2010 with an Exchange 2003 back-end.
Already have an Outlook profile (created in Outlook 2003).
When launching Outlook 2010 I get:
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window"
I've read several posts with this error message and a common "workaround" / "solution" was to run:  “Outlook.exe /resetnavpane”
I tried that and it didnt resolve the issue.
The only way I found to resolve this was to create a new Outlook profile.
Launching with a new Outlook profile works fine.
    - Is this a "known issue" ?
    - Is there a way to diagnose / throubleshoot further without having to create a new profile?
    Thanks
    - AL

    Hi,
Thank you for using Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum.
This problem can occur when file that maintains the Navigation Pane settings becomes corrupted. This file is called profilename.xml, where profilename is the name
of your Outlook profile. Normally, we can resolve this issue by starting Outlook with the command
    Outlook.exe /resetnavpane
    or
    creating a new Outlook profile.
Next time, you may also try to rename the profilename.xml from the folder first to see if the issue can be resolved:
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
    Windows Vista, Windows 7: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
For more information, you can refer to this KB article:

  • Outlook 2010 - Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The requesting program is an incompatible version.

Outlook 2002 was installed on one of our Windows Server 2003 Terminal Servers.  In the process of upgrading to Office 2010, the Outlook 2002 was replaced by Outlook 2010.  Although the other Office 2010 programs seem to work, when we try to use
Outlook 2010 on this Terminal Server we get the following message.
    Microsoft Outlook
Cannot open your default e-mail folders.  The requesting program is an incompatible version.  Contact your system administrator about upgrading your Microsoft Exchange Client.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
Outlook 2010 is not supported in Windows Server 2003.  For Microsoft Outlook 2010, the following operating systems supports only the 32-bit edition of Office 2010:
Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3)
    Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), MSXML 6.0
    Windows Server 2003 R2
For more information about system requirements for Office 2010, please refer to:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee624351(v=office.14).aspx#section10
Personal suggestion, we can upgrade your Windows server 2003 to higher version for more features.

  • I cannot make my Outlook 2010 calendar/tasks/contacts sync with the calendar on my iPhone 5, I cannot make my Outlook 2010 calendar sync with the calendar on my iPhone 5

I have wasted so many hours trying to make this work and researching Apple support.  Nothing works so I am hoping to get an answer here.
First of all, here is what I am using:
    Windows 7 32 bit
    Outlook 2010
    iPhone 5 and iPad 3
    iOS 7.0.2 on both devices
I have downloaded the iCloud app for my Windows computer and checked that it sync my contacts, calendar, and tasks.  I have enabled iCloud on my phone for contacts, calendars and tasks.  I have not been able to get anything to sync.  My iCloud calendar appears in Outlook but everything is grayed out.  I see the iCloud reminders under my tasks tab but there is nothing listed.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iCloud on my Windows computer.  I have turned off the calendars, tasks, and contacts sync under iCloud on my phone and turned them back on - nothing.  I have restarted my computer and iPhone - nothing.  Same results with my iPad - nothing.
Additionally, I have gmail as my personal email; also am forced to use Good for Enterprise for my work email.
I am at my wits end.  I finally ended up syncing today with the USB cable via iTunes but the whole point behind iCloud is to be able to sync wirelessly.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there janis143,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like after the recent iOS update, your Outlook content is no longer syncing properly to your phone.
    I found this article named:

  • Cannot print .pdf attachments in Outlook 2010 on local usb printer using the lastest Adobe Reader

We can't print pdf attachments from Outlook 2010 on a users local printer via usb with the latest Adobe Reader but it can print to a network copier. We can print from the local printer emails, webpages, regular pdf's on the hard drive.
    Please advise and thanks.

What is the behavior that you are seeing? Are you getting some error or is it simply failing to print with Reader 10.1.2.

  • ICloud with outlook 2010: Cannot access email in the client

Remove the mail profile and try again.

    Hello Spiceheads,
Here is the issue. An end user has iCloud and downloaded and installed the client on her workstation. Up until about a couple of weeks ago, it was working just fine. Now, in outlook 2010, it constantly prompts for a username and password. The kicker is that she is using the correct one. I had her login to the web interface with the same username and password and she logged in just fine. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that didnt fix the issues. Any suggestions?

  • Is there a way to automatically update events in the Outlook 2010 calendar when adding events in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010?

I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. I have synced my Outlook calendar with my iPhone using the iCloud Control Panel. This is great, but when I add an event in the iCloud calendar in Outlook 2010 and subsequently send out invitations to the event, I get the following error:
"This meeting is not in the Calendar folder for this account. Responses to this meeting will not be tallied. Do you want to send anyway?"
I select "Yes" and the invite goes out. However, when invitees receive the email invitation, there should be 2 emails - one from Outlook and one from iCloud. The iCloud invite does not always come through. If the invitee responds to the Outlook email invite, it does not show up on the iCloud Calendar.
Is there a reason that the iCloud email is not always sent or is there a way to some how update the Windows Outlook Calendar when adding events in the iCloud Calendar through Outlook?

I have just discovered this problem as well.
    Very annoying!
Now all off my meetings entered in Outlook on my desktop PC are not syncing with my ipad and iphone.
If I had known this would have happened I would never have downloaded Version 2.0 of the icloud control panel.
Does anyone know how I can get the earlier version back?

I have checked my connection www.testexchangeconnectivity.com

PS apologies for the green text but I copied and pasted the web link and could not get rid of the green text afterwards!

    Hi,
If you test on www.testexchangeconnectivity.com is ok.
Maybe it has some issue on Client setting.
So please check if client setting is correct and if you fill the DNS server on client and can resolve the Exchange URL.

  • Outlook 2010 cannot provide form scripting support

I have followed two workarounds and fixes for Office 2010 in  a terminal services environment.  One was to copy a .dll file to the terminal server and the other was to remove a registry entry.  Both workarounds fixed the problem temporarily,
but it continues to show up.  When a user opens some email messages they receive a warning that "Microsoft Outlook cannot provide form scripting support. This feature is not available.  For more information, contact your system administrator."A+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Security+

Here is what I did to enable VB scripting for Outlook 2010.
    1.
Determine the GUID for Office 2010.
    In the Registry, go to
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features. Search for
    “OutlookVBScript”. I found it at:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\00004109110000000000000000F01FEC.
In the Registry, for an x86 server go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products,
or for an x64 server, go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\InstalledPackages (the first one)
and select the key where you located “OutlookVBScript”.
    On my server, it is:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\00004109110000000000000000F01FEC
When I select it, this is what I see:
DisplayName “Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010”
InstallSource, ModifyPath and UninstallSring all show the Office 2010 GUID as
    {90140000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
    2.
    Install VBScripting for Outlook.
My commands to install VBscripting for Outlook are therefore:
    change user /install
    msiexec /i {90140000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE} ADDLOCAL=OutlookVBScript /qb
    change user /execute
Note: After installing VBscripting for Outlook, “OutlookVBScript”at
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\00004109110000000000000000F01FEC changed its value from “OUTLOOKFiles”
(where the box glyph at the beginning appears to be a minus or dash in the Registry editor) to “OUTLOOKFiles”.

  • Outlook 2010: "Cannot open your default e-mail folders..."

When I open Outlook 2010 I receive the message: "Cannot open your default email folders.  There is not enough memory to perform the operation.", after which the program closes.  This is on a network running SBS 2003, with about 25 users, and I
am the only with this problem.  System resources on the exchange server are fine, so I can only imagine a disk usage quota has been exceeded somewhere.  Storage limits for my account looked fine.  I've tried restarting exchange services, restarting
the server itself, restarting my desktop, etc etc, to no avail.
This specific problem just started yesterday, but I've been having memory issues for months now.  Usually, the Send and Receive dialogue will tell me that there are not enough resources on the server, but mail comes and goes just fine.  It's never
simply refused to let me open outlook before, like it is now.
I also tried logging in through another computer and using Outlook 2003, which actually let me open the program, but did not sync mail properly.
Also, we use cached exchange mode, so I tried creating a new ost file, but no dice.
Anyone know what the deal might be?

    Hi,
I agree with Don’s guess of damaged PST file or MAPI profile. Analyzed your description(sync mail improperly on another computer and using cache mode), this problem might occur when your Outlook messaging profile includes a Microsoft Exchange account
that is configured to Use Cached Exchange Mode, and you have lots of cached public folders. Usually, this problem occurs when you exceed approximately 1,000 public folders, or a gigabyte of space is taken.
To prevent this problem, keep the number of cached public folders to fewer than 1,000. Or, reduce the number of folders until the error or errors stop occurring. If you are experiencing this problem, delete some public folder favorites by using the Outlook
client. In some cases, if you have too many favorites, you may be unable to delete the folders because the error occurs when you click the public folder favorites folder.
To delete the public folder favorites, follow these steps:
    1.Download MFCMAPI from http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com.
     2.Run MFCMAPI.exe.
3.On the Session menu, click Logon and Display Store Table.
4.If you are prompted for a profile, select your profile name, and then click OK.
5.In the top pane, locate the line that corresponds to your mailbox, and double-click it.
6.In the navigation pane (left-side pane), expand Root - Mailbox, and select the Shortcuts folder.
7.In the results pane (right-side pane), locate the PR_FOLDER_CHILD_COUNT properties. The value contains the number of public folder favorites.
8.In the navigation pane, right-click the Shortcuts folder, and then select Empty Items and Subfolders from Folder.
9.Keep the default options, and then click OK.
    Good Luck.

  • Outlook 2010 Calendar displays shifted meeting and appointments

We use Exchange on 2003 SP2 and Outlook 2010 on the workstaions.
    Some workstations are WinXP SP3 and some W7 SP1 (64bit and 32bit)
All appointment shifted to one hour later. That is if there was an apppointment which was 10:00 AM, it now shows as 11:00 AM
New meeting request show one hour ahead, that is if an appointment for 7:30 AM is sent, i see it as 6:30 AM.
The problem is we never have any such problem with Outlook 2007 and now, since we started to upgrade to Outlook 2010 it has started.
Even now - there ia no problem with WinXP! The problem is ONLY on Win7.
I checked we have no duplicate CDOEX and CDO dlls and even I re-registered both dlls.
It does not seem to help.
We work with DST disabled and it will not help!
The problem is mentioned a lot but I seem to be unable to find a usefull answer.
    Regards,
    Marcel
    Marcel

    Hi Marcel!
You should call in and open a support incident on this issue, as this issue is too involved to adequately work over a forum.
That being said. I don't know if the script could\would have caused this issue. Do you have a Win 7 with Office 2010 box that you haven't run the script on? Are you seeing the issue from a Win 7 box that hasn't had the keys\values set?
After checking out the keys\values the script sets and what they do, I'd then need to see a repro of the issue to make sure I understood exactly how the appointment was created and when the shift in time occurred.
To dump an item's properties, you can use MFCMapi to access the item in the Exchange folder and save off the properties. Or OutlookSpy to go in through IMessage on the item and save the properties off as a txt file.
At least you have the issue narrowed down to the Win 7\Outlook 2010 machines. Being that the situation you describe sounds like the machines are using the DST rules, I would begin by making sure that DST is definitely being disabled.
    Go into Regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
Add a new DWORD value with the name "DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet" --Set its value to "1". Which equates to "Disabled".
You can see more of an explanation of the setting here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverGP/thread/3e5adc56-7580-497e-a972-81d3b25a3e57
Marcel, I don't like asking people to open support tickets. The whole purpose of the forums is to learn\share information and to help resolve\figure out
    what is happening.
Sadly, in a case like this where the results don't match what is being done, we're probably looking at something in the environment on the Win7\Outlook 2010 machine, something external (app, device, etc) modifying the item, or the application not respecting
    the machine's DST settings.
Were I to get your issue: I would start by seeing how many and who is affected.
You've narrowed this to Win7 w/ Outlook 2010. Are all Win7\Outlook 2010 machines affected? --If the script is not run, and you set "DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet" to "1" manually, do you have the issue?
Does anyone on the machine have the issue? --Have a working user logon to the Win7\Outlook 2010 machine and configure an Outlook profile and see if the issue reproduces.
Is the affected user connecting to their Mailbox's Calendar from any other machines\clients? Devices? What about Delegates or people who have been granted access to their Calendar?
If all the settings are showing DST disabled, but Outlook still puts the Appointment an hour off then we would likely want to get an iDNA trace while the issue was reproduced. The iDNA would allow us to track all the calls\functions Outlook 2010 is making
up to and including the time shifting an hour off.
At this point, I literally have nothing else to add or share with you. Please call in and I assure you we will help you to resolve this issue.
    Happy Easter to Everyone!

Outlook 2010 running in online mode with Exchange 2010 SP3.
When performing an Advanced Find, clicking the check box 'Where I am:' and selecting 'the only person on the To line', the search results return email messages where there are multiple people in the To

Does anyone have any insight on this, and is there a custom search I can perform for similar results in the Advanced tab?
    Thank you

Unable to repro it here. What if we enable cached Exchange mode, will this issue continue?
In addition, meeting items will ignore the 'Where I am: the only person on the To line' criteria when searching. Make sure these search results are not meeting items.

  • Synching SharePoint 2013 to Outlook 2010 - Is it possible to restrict the views?

    Hi,
I'm trying to synch SharePoint 2013 calendars with Outlook 2010. If I require a certain view from SharePoint e.g. [Me] as a Project Manager to be synched to Outlook, can you restrict it so only this data is pulled through?
I've tried and it currently pulls through all the calendar appointments on SharePoint through to Outlook. I only require a certain view of appointments, and dont want this information to be public to the rest of my organisation.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to sync the appointments which were assigned to you in the SharePoint calendar with Outlook.
I recommend to use a group calendar and then sync the calendar with Outlook. After that, only your appointments will be synced with Outlook.
    Best regards.
