Outlook 2010/Shared calendar showing as busy/no detail

Hi, user has editor access to another user's calendar yet only free/busy information is showing.
The primary user's profile also has a second exchange account on it. Thought this account might be limiting things so gave it editor access as well. Still, only busy information is shown on calendar.
Anything else to check? Thanks in advance-

Hi,
Create a new Outlook profile for the user to test the issue again.
1. Exit Outlook.
2. Go to Start > Control Panel, click or double-click Mail.
3. Click Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
4. Click Add.
5. Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.
6. Highlight the profile, and choose Properties. Then Email Accounts.., add your email account in the profile.
7. Start Outlook, and choose this new profile.
If this problem does not occur in the new Outlook profile, the old Outlook is corrupted. We can delete that and use a new Outlook profile.

  • IPhone 4S Outlook 2010 shared Calendar problem

    Hello all,
There problem to see in Outlook 2010 shared calendar in iPhone 4S. In iPhone 4S there is seen owner calendar of added Exchange Server account, but I need to see other one person shared calendar which is impossible to see. I see in iPhone 4S two calendars as added, but when I open calendar I see entries only for one account.
Where is problem and how to solve it?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Girts

I had the same problem where I could open a shared calendar in OWA but it would not work in Outlook 2010. When I clicked on the shared folder I got the error message 'outlook cannot open this folder'. The problem ended up being that the person
whose calendar was being shared was hidden on the exchange server ('hide from exchange address lists' had been selected). To resolve the issue we had to unhide the user, update the OAB on the server and then update the OAB on the desktop. We could then share
the calendar, accept the share and then hide the user again.
Sounds like I have the same issue too.  Where do I go to do all the resolve part?  Where do I unhide the user?  I am guessing OAB means offline address book.
    Thanks

  • Outlook 2013 shared calendars show "no connection" and users can't see other's free / busy time in scheduling assistant

    Info:
Outlook 2013 Pro Plus - Windows 7 64bit - Exchange 2007 Hosted by Rack Space - everything fully patched....
every user in our company on Office 2013 now has the same issue: shared calendars won't populate with the following error: "no connection" when they try to see another user's calendar in scheduling assistant, it just shows those diagonal lines
    (like they don't have permission)
Based on "research", reaching out to Rack Space and some desperate Googling, I've tried the following to no avail:
run full repair of Microsoft office 2013 and also reinstalled Office 2013
turn off /on cached exchange mode, turned off /on Work Offline mode
    rebuild OST and email profile
start Outlook in safe mode with no add-ins running
check auto discover records and add auto discover server address to local intranet zone in Internet Explorer
modify calendar permissions for both ends of the calendar interaction
check Outlook OWA access, confirmed everything is fine there
anyone have any ideas for me? people in Outlook 2010 have no issues BTW; just Outlook 2013....
thank you so much in advance and please let me know if I can provide more info!

    Hi,
This issue may be caused by KB 2837643 & KB 2837618, please uninstall the patches, let the users create a new profile to test the result:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If the issue is caused by the patches, please note we have realized this issue and hopefully there will be a fix to this issue soon. We will inform you as soon as there's a fix.

  • Outlook 2010 - Shared Calendar Issue - "No Connection"

I'm experiencing problems with Shared Calendars in Outlook 2010 as well as when creating a new meeting request.
When I try to open a shared calendar it shows the following error message: "no connection".
My co-workers and hundreds of different users are not facing the same problem.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix that? (We are all using the same Exchange Server 2010)

  • Outlook 2010 shared calendars

I work at Pensacola State College. We recently upgraded our Exchange servers to 2013. Our staff is using Outlook 2010.  We have about a half dozen  calendars that are shared among our admin staff of about 10 people (resources, not individual
users shared calendars). My problem is I have 2 users who continually lose their edit permissions on only 3 of those shared calendars. The other shared calendars have no issues, everyone that has permission can add/delete, etc. But
on the other 3 calendars in question at least 3-4 times a week 2 users (only) lose tha ability to make changes to these calendars. I can delete the calendars and reconnect to them and for the next day or 2 they work fine and then deja vu. I have checked these
2 users' settings with others in the department and they are identical. One night I asked one of the users that was having the issue to not shutdown or log off her PC, leave keep Outlook open and simply lock the PC. When she came in next morning and unlocked
her PC with Outlook still open she could not edit any of the 3 calendars in question (delete, re-add, problem gone).  One moring when one of the users called I took a laptop with a clean image and Office 2013 on it. Had her login and she still had the
same problem; could not edit any of the 3 calendars. Deleted them, readded, worked fine. This user works for the president; suggestions please??

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that there are 2 users always losing Editor permission for 3 shared calendars. Is there any error message or error logs when the issue occurs? Please collect it for further analysis.
Please confirm whether the problematic users still have Editor permission to these 3 shared calendars when the issue occurs. We can try to remove the Editor permission for 2 problematic users then re-add it to check whether the issue persists. If there is
any activesync device, please also disable it.
Generally, to prevent incorrect or missing meeting information, it is recommended to limit the number of delegates with Editor permissions. For more information about best practices when using the Outlook Calendar, please refer to:

  • Fix for Bolded Dates in Outlook 2010 Shared Calendars

Is there a fix for seeing bolded dates in navigation calendars for shared calendars In Outlook 2010  (when appts have been made on certain dates) as was the case in Office 2003?
Looks like in 2011 someone posted on the forum that it was being looked into, but has there been a fix?  It's now two years later?  I had put this on the Exchange forum, and they said to put it on the Office/Outlook forum.  I've seen it both
places, but no answers yet.  Trying here now as suggested.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
I can reproduce this on my Outlook 2010. It displays the same for shared calendars on Outlook 2013, so far I'd say it's by design rather than a bug.

  • Outlook 2010 shared calendar just says updating

This just started happening a day or two ago.
I used to be able to see other team mates calendars,  and make meeting room appointments.
Now ,  when I look at a college's calendar,  I just see "updating",  when I try to make a meeting with a room request,  I get a pop up saying,  "Cannot directly book a resource for this meeting",  so I can't
see calendars,  and can't schedule a meeting in a room.

    Hi,
Here are several steps that you can try to fix this issue.
    1. Run Outlook with the switch /cleanfreebusy, which will clear and regenerate free/busy information. check if this helps:
Press Win key + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy” in the blank box, then press Enter.
    2. Have the owner of the calendar change the Permissions, if "Reviewer" doesn't help, try with a higher level.
    3. Switch between Cached Exchange Mode and Online Mode, check if this makes a difference:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/turn-on-or-off-cached-exchange-mode-HP010355560.aspx
    4. If none of the steps above helps, we can try to re-seup the account with a new Outlook Profile:

Please let me know if this is helpful and keep me updated.

  • Outlook 2010/Outlook365/ not showing some attachments

We are plagued with random situations where emails coming with inline attachmnets are not showing in outlook
2010 If attachments. Forward the message to a different mail provider , for example yahoo mail  the exact same messages show attachments as expected! So in other words, the attachments really are there but for some reason when the messages come through
the Office365/Exchange 2013 server Outlook 2010 won't show them and the message has to be forwarded to a different email system to get at the attachments.
    Await reply from Microsoft

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to solve the Outlook attachment problem, please follow these steps: -
All versions of Outlook include a security feature that blocks attachments that might put your computer at risk for viruses or other threats. You can still open the attachments
that Outlook blocks by using one of the following methods: -
Use a file share to access the attachment.
Use a file compression utility to change the file name extension.
Rename the file to have a different file name extension.
Follow these steps to save the attachment and rename it to use the original file name extension:
Locate the attachment in the e-mail.
Right-click the attachment, and then click
    Copy.
Right- click the desktop, and then click
    Paste.
Right-click the pasted file, and then click
    Rename.
Rename the file to use the original file name extension,
    such as .exe.
    4. Ask the Exchange server administrator to change the security settings.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • I purchased a new Windows 8 PC. I have used and continue to use Outlook 2010 for my calendar. With my old Windows 7 PC and Outlook 2010, my calendar sinked properly with my Iphone 5. Now with the new Windows 8 PC, it does not. Help!

I purchased a new Windows 8 PC and I use Outlook 2010 for my calendar. With my old Windows 7 PC and Outlook 2010, my calendar would sync with my Iphone 5, but with the new Windows 8 PC and Outlook 2010, it does not, and I can't figure out how to snyc them. The emails from Outlook 2010 sync, but the calendar does not. Help! Thanks.

Easy solution for restoring lost calendar informaiton, thank goodness.  On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud.  If your Calendar selection is turned off,  turn it on.  Your info should restore.  If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off.  Choose to save calendars when asked.  After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on.  Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this.  Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

  • How to Read Outlook Exchange Shared Calendars on iPhone?

My company uses microsoft outlook exchange and I have been using iphone syncing with this outlook exchange calendar. Besides my own calendar, on the outlook exchange, I have access to another shared calendar. I want to be able to read this shared calendar on my iPhone but cannot figure out how to do it. Previously I learned from other postings that iPhone doesn't support it.
The new OS 3.0 support CalDav and I am wondering if this will enable me to read the shared calendars of my outlook exchange on my iPhone. Does anybody know how to do it? If the current firmware solely doesn't support it, might there are other ways to do it with supports of other apps? How about through Google Calendar? Or there are any apps can automatically copy the contents in the outlook exchange shared calendars to my outlook exchange calendar?
Does anybody have solutions? Many thanks!

The shared MS Exchange calendar is ICS format which SHOULD be able to be added as "Add Subscribed Calendar" in the Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add Account/Other screens on the iPhone.
I'm tring to add a 2nd Exchange Outlook calendar only and need it to sync over the air.
Just can't find the correct way to get it entered to work? The link sent by Outlook (I'm running 2007) when you send the invite doesn't work and copy/paste to the server name is also a bust. Have tried direct copy paste, cutting off the webcal:// prefix, etc. Just won't authenticate.
No documentation that I can find on either Apple or MS site to validate the exact syntax required.
I can hit the https link provided by MS on my Safari iPhone browser after entering my MS Online ID and access the calendar online. And yes tried several of MS Online IDs that I have as UID/PW in the iPhone config screens without success.
A little more info on my config.
    3gs 32mb
Have exchange acct as primary email with email contacts and calendar working
Have CalDAV link to my wife's Google calendar working
Have several other subscribed calendars (ics) working: US Holidays, AmericanHistory.com, and my TripIt profile.
I DO NOT want to use MobileMe to make this work. Life would be so easy if iPhone would just support multiple Exchange accts!
Funny thing I just noticed...spell check on forum IDs "iPhone" and "MobileMe" lol

  • Outlook / Exchange 2010 shared calendars performance

Hi, we are using Outlook 2010 connecting to Exchange 2010 over a WAN (120ms average RTT). Cached mode is forced on all clients. Our users are finding that performance of shared calendars is very poor in "online" mode. However as they are all using Outlook
2010, checking "download shared folders" means that ALL secondary mailbox folders are cached and we don't want this to happen. Users are typically PAs who have been granted full mailbox access to their exec's mailbox. These users may have several shared calendars
open at once which makes the situation even worse.
Is there a way that we can revert Outlook 2010 to the previous 2007 behaviour whereby with secondary mailboxes only the calendar / contacts etc are cached? I have seen articles referring to a reg value "CacheOthersMail" that can be added but this seems to
have no effect on a couple of clients we've tried - if the "download shared folders" option is checked, everything is still cached, and if it's unchecked, everything switches to "online".
    Any help appreciated,
    Nick

Yes, setting that registry key to 0 should do the trick. You might need to recreate the mail profile though or recreate the ost-file to directly get rid of what is currently being cached.
As you've currently forced the caching by a GPO, check your policy keys as well.

  • Outlook 2010 Scheduling Assistent - No free busy information can be received.

    Folks:
I have recently upgraded to Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7 x64.  My email is exchange based. My machine is not a member of the domain my exchange server is in.
I access it my a stored credential.
Everything is fine except for Scheduling assistant.  All the folks invited to a meeting (except for myself) show up as "No Information Available".
I have found plenty of posts that suggest this is also a Outlook 2007 issue, and that creating a key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\UseLegacyFB
(value 1) solves the issue.  (Example:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/c765605d-27a7-4784-993c-925394e2e09f)  I did create the key on my Outlook 2010 machine - but in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
key.  It is not resolving my issue.
Does anyone know the Outlook 2010 solution to this issue?  Note:  I have Administrative privilege on my Client - but no privilege on the server.  I need to get
Outlook 2010 to interface with Exchange 2007.
    John

    Hi John,
Thank you for using Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum.
From your description, I understand that you are using Outlook 2010 and Exchange account.
There is no free busy information when using scheduling assistant. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
First, you must be using an Exchange server and everyone must publish their free/busy information.
Check from File > Options > Calendar Options > Free/Busy Options.
Make sure the month value for publishing is not zero.
Also, I found a similar thread here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/exchangesvradmin/thread/5991f3b6-f0cc-432f-82c6-f24da0a42862
You can also try the suggestions in that thread to recreate the web services virtual directory
    ===============
    1. Remove-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -identity "Servername\EWS (Default Web Site)" -identity "Servername\EWS (Default Web Site)"
    2. IISReset –noforce
    3. New-WebServicesVirtualDirectory
    4. IISReset –noforce
If this problem persists, it might be related to some settings on the Exchange server side. You can also post this thread in Exchange server forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/exchangesvradmin/threads
Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for
you, please feel free to let me know.

  • Outlook 2007 Shared calendars problem

    Hi,
We are having a problem with shared calendars in outlook 2007. A colleague went on holiday for two weeks and whilst he was away, he was seeing people accepting new meeting times sent by the PAs but despite being an invitee he wasnt recieving invites and
    his calendar didn't update.
His calendar is shared with the PA, and she changes his appointments as and when required. Until this week, this worked no problem. Now, when she changes events on his calendar, he doesn't see the change, even when re-synched it shows no different.
Occasionally, he will create an event himself - he did this today to show me - he created the meeting, invited the board, they all accepted, and then voila, the event was in the board's calendar (showing as HIS event) but wasn't in his calendar at all.
I'm alright at email and exchange but I don't use and know nothing about outlook calendars (I'm still a strong believer in the Filofax ;))
    Please help!
    Jak

So sorry -- I shut down Outlook and restarted it to find that both add-ins were now present, and everything seems to be working. Unfortunately, I don't know how to delete this thread.

  • Outlook 2010 hotmail calendar's reminders are being automaticly deleted

Probably after an automatic windows update session, on my laptop, my Outlook 2010’s Hotmail Calendar (connected to my mobile via MAPI) started to delete “only”
the reminder set for an event. Strangely same reminder stands active as you check the same event both the outlook.com and my mobile.
As it is being auto deleted (!) over my laptop’s Outlook it doesn’t pop the reminding sound nor show up on the reminders window as its time comes.
    System: 64 bit Windows 7

    Hi Murray,
    Thanks for your update.
I found a related thread for your reference:

Please also try to run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
Please also try to run some Outlook Switch to refresh the calender reminder caches, then try to create the reminder again. Switch commands as below:
    /cleanreminders
    /cleanroamedprefs
    /cleansniff
Since this issue doesn't relate to Exchange server, and sorry for the lack of knowledge on Outlook in depth. I also suggest asking Outlook Forum for help so that we can get more professional suggestions. For your convenience:

  • Sync problem itunes 11.1.5.5 iphone 5 Version 7.1 (11D167) Windows 7 Home premium Outlook 2010 contacts calendar

I'm no longer able to sync contacts, calendar or notes from my computer's Outlook using iTunes.  For a while I was getting a message that the server could not be reached for resolving conflicts - probably got that message every sync for a month or so and just ignored it.  Then I followed online instructions for dealing with that problem and renamed the file conflicts.syncconflict.  The instructions suggested that this would cause creation of a new conflicts.synconflict file, which it did.  But then the sync just seemed to hang on the contacts portion of syncing, even if I left it for a couple of hours.  So I renamed the old file back to conflicts.synconflict.
Now sync doesn't work at all for me if I try to sync any of Outlook contacts, calendar or notes.  If I disable all those, the sync works for things like apps, etc.
    I have already tried:
checking latest version of iPhone software
in iTunes, clicking edit / preferences/ devices / reset sync history (not sure whether this button really does anything or not)
using outlook's scanpst.exe to check for corruption of my main outlook files and most of my ancillary folders
resetting the iPhone (pressing the button upper right and the circular button at the bottom for several seconds)
trying the sync after rebooting the computer and not turning on Outlook in the interim
The present symptom is that the attempted sync just hangs on the syncing contacts stage, and won't complete.  I can cancel the sync, but I can't complete it (unless I uncheck syncing with all the Outlook data).  I'm not getting any error message.
    This is what I'm using:
              iPhone 5
              iTunes version 11.1.5.5
              iPhone software Version 7.1 (11D167)
              Windows 7 Home premium
               Outlook 2010
              Asus G74SX computer
    It is March 27, 2014.
Suggestions welcome.  I'd like to be able to sync my contacts and calendar.

    Hey Steve,
I had this problem as well and found a way how to solve this:
You need to reset your iPhone by pressing the Home button and the Power button simultaneously until the iPhone reboots.
After it rebooted I unlocked the phone, connected it to my PC and ran the iTunes sync without any problems.
Hope this helps with your issue as well.
    Best
    Alex
