Office 2013 Home & Business Edition - None of the application (Word, Powerpoint, Excel or Outlook) is opening, not even in safe mode.. I tried to run the application in compatibility mode by right clicking the excel.exe and choosing the compatibility
mode, still no success. It is installed on Windows 7 Professional SP1. All the latest updates are already installed. I have also tried Microsoft fixit, but still no Success. Please help!!

I'm so sorry that I forgot the Office programs even not open in safe mode and provide useless information in my last reply.
The problem persists when we perform a Windows clean boot, right?
Were the Office programs suddenly not working? Or it just can’t be open after you install it? Did you get any error message?
If you haven’t try a repair of your Office installation, we can try it to check the result:

In addition, try to use Event Viewer to see if we can get some useful error log about this problem. See:

  • Installing Acrobat Pro 9.2 in a Terminal Server Environment

    Hi everyone,
we're facing massive problems in our attempts to install Acrobat Pro 9.2 in a terminal server environment. It seems to be impossible to convert for example a .doc-file into a pdf via the adobe pdf-printer using a restricted user-account. It causes an "Access denied"-popup. We solved this subproblem by granting the user write-permission in the respective registry-key (HKLM\Software\Adobe). By now everytime we try, the application freezes after the "copy-status-bar" is filled. Using a power user instead of a normal user solves this problem. So the question is what's the relevant difference between the rights of those user groups.
    Thanks for your help!

You can also try to update your Acrobat by applying patches one by one.
to update upto latest version of Acrobat i.e 9.5, you need to apply the following updates
    9.3.0   download location: < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4605 >
    9.3.2   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4654 >
    9.3.3   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4695 >
    9.4      download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4851 >
    9.4.2   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4931 >
    9.4.5   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5118 >
    9.4.6   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5237 >
    9.5     download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5330 >
You can download the above mentioned patches from the corrosponding download link and apply one by one in same order as mentioned above.
This is  a bit lengthy process, but I hope you will be able to update your Acrobat.
    Thanks.

  • Windows server 2012 r2 vm will not launch from RemoteApp & Desktop connection page

I have setup a RDS test lab and created a un-managed pooled collection which has a server 2012 r2 desktop vm and a windows 8.1 desktop vm. I can launch the windows 8.1 vm through RDWeb access page but I can not launch the server 2012 r2 vm. Can a server
2012 r2 vm be brokered through the connection broker and launched from RDWeb?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Does server 2012 R2 VM created succefully and can you access through remote session (not through RD Web Access)?
If possible for a try create a new VM and check the related setting with new user account and then access them whether it resolve your issue. you can refer below article to create VDI.
    Deploying VDI on server 2012
    Hope it helps!

  • Terminal server 2003 and window7 printer

we have a terminal server 2003 and now added a windows 7 workstation running rdp. all printers except the new hp2025n show in session by loading the printdriver 2020 on the server. How ever on the windows 7 desktop I had to load the 2020 driver for windows 7.  The win7 driver will not load on the server, error this platform not supported. I understand that the 2 drivers have to match for the printer to be used in rdp.  The other printer that come across is a black dell printer with no problems. so the driver is what I suspect is the issue.

  • Difference between Terminal server connection and MSTSC remote desktop connection

Hi everyone , Wats the main difference between Terminal server connection and MSTSC remote desktop connection? Well both are used to connect a server remotely. right!
Are there any much difference between them?

RDP is a protocol and MSTSC is the RDP client.
In the situation you are referring to, you use MSTSC (RDP Client) in both cases, but when you connect to a client PC (Windows 7, Windows XP, etc) you can only connect if nobody is using that PC at the moment, if you connect to a server you can work along with
some other users. Server OS supports 2 connections by default, if you want more people you need Remote Desktop Services and RDS licenses.
    Thanks,

  • Mac OS 10.6.7 Server, Safari Keeps Crashing (after failed FileMaker Server install)

    Mac OS 10.6.7 Server
After several attempts of installing, uninstalling FileMaker Server 11.
(FileMaker Server 11 still will not launch, Admin Console)
    Now totally un-installed
Safari constantly crashes a few minutes after launch.

I think it is due to the Java update that either comes with 10.6.7 or was released just before 10.6.7 so is probably included in the 10.6.7 update anyway
    Try this
Open Java Preferences (use spotlight to find it)
Check what version of Java your computer is using for both the options it should be "Java SE 6 64bit" at the top of both lists  click it and then click options and what is the version number 1.6.0_15, 64bit (this version works)
if you have version 1.6.0_24 i have found it wont work
I had this happen with 10.6.6 with the java update and ended up reinstalling the whole server as i thought it was something else causing the problem I have since not installed the java update from reading some info on the filemaker site and then still haven't installed 10.6.7 in case.
Not sure how you can backdate the java version perhaps check the sun website (or is it oracle now) to see if you can install an older version
Whatever version is at the top of the list will be used so if you can drag an older version to the top and then restart you should be fine.

  • Outlook will not launch

I upgraded to OS X v 10.6.8 and upgraded MS Office for MAC Home and Business 2011 to 14.3.1 - now Outlook will not launch.
I tried completely uninstalling Office 2011, reinstalling and seeing if Outlook with launch.  Ironically, it REQUIRES the upgrade of 14.3.1 to launch and now I get the error message"Check with developer ot make sure MS Outlook works with this version of Mac OS X.
How do I get Outlook to launch?

I set it up exactly like I did in Outlook on my desktop computer.  At this point I just want to get the account info off Outlook so I don't have to deal with it, even though I won't be able to check my school e-mail from my laptop without going through
the 4 steps it takes to log in through the school website.
If I go to Control Panel > Mail > E-mail Accounts, and try to delete the school e-mail from the list, it tells me "You cannot delete this Outlook data file.  Configuration information in the file is being copied to your new default data file.
You can delete the file after this information is copied."  It's been giving me that message for the past week.  I can't go in to the Data Files tab to try to remove it, because I get the error "This data file is associated with a mail account.
To remove it use the 'E-mail' tab."  I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Office suite, and it's still there.  I really don't want to have to reformat my computer again, but I'm afraid that's the only way I'm going to get this
    off of here.
Just had a thought, is there anything on the desktop I can copy and paste it into a folder on my desktop so that I know it's set up correctly?  I'm 99.999% sure I did it the same way, but that's the only foolproof way I can think of to make absolutely
sure, and figured it was worth a shot.

  • Terminal 2.0.1 will not launch.

Since I upgraded to Leopard, Terminal 2.0.1 will not launch. I don't remember if this started with the original upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5 or one of the subsequent upgrades. I replaced Terminal 2.0.1 with Terminal 1.5.1 from 10.4.11 and it works fine. I extracted Terminal 2.0.1 again from the 10.5.4 Combo upgrade to my Desktop with Pacifist and it still did not launch. Something is conflicting with it but what?

Thanks for the reply. I renamed Terminal 1.5.1 (from 10.4.11) and extracted and installed Terminal 2.0.1 from the 10.5.4 upgrade with Pacifist. I removed com.apple.Terminal.plist from ~Library.Preferences. Terminal 2.0.1 still refused to launch and system.log gave the following entry:
Jul 5 09:46:25 Macintosh Terminal[1246]: Unable to load nib file: MainMenu, exiting
    Jul 5 09:46:26 Macintosh com.apple.launchd[600] ([0x0-0x85085].com.apple.Terminal[1246]): Exited with exit code: 1
Jul 5 09:47:28 Macintosh Terminal[1256]: Unable to load nib file: MainMenu, exiting
    Jul 5 09:47:29 Macintosh com.apple.launchd[600] ([0x0-0x86086].com.apple.Terminal[1256]): Exited with exit code: 1
Jul 5 09:48:40 Macintosh Terminal[1261]: Unable to load nib file: MainMenu, exiting
    Jul 5 09:48:40 Macintosh com.apple.launchd[600] ([0x0-0x87087].com.apple.Terminal[1261]): Exited with exit code: 1
It did not generate a new .plist file.
I removed it to the trash and renamed Terminal 1.5.1 and it launches normally.
I copied Terminal 2.0.1 from a backup drive (last backup to this drive was June 10th) and it launched fine. I wonder if the original Terminal 2.0.1 I had in my Utilities folder somehow got damaged.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • How do I remove Outlook 2013 profile that refers to Exchange Server 2003, Outlook won't start

I have Office 2013 Pro preinstalled on my new Windows 8.1 (64bit) machine. I am on a domain with a Small Business Server 2003.  The server has Exchange 2003 installed on it but I've never used it. I use Google Apps for Business for my email.
I clicked on the Outlook tile for the first time in the Start window.  It took me to an email account set-up screen and set up a profile for me.
But then it came back with two error dialog boxes. One says "The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange. Contact your e-mail administrator for assistance."  The other dialog
box says "Cannot start Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook windows. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\Users\mark.hcs\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\<e-mail address>.ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost)."
Now every time I click on the Outlook tile it comes up with the same dialog and I can't get into Outlook.  I've tried using the Mail control panel applet but, when I click on it, it does nothing.
What can I do to set up Outlook to not look for the Exchange Server so I can set up my e-mail account.
    Mark
As Socrates said: "I drank what?"

    Hi,
As far as I know, Outlook 2013 cannot connect to Exchange 2003 or an earlier version of Exchange:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc178996(v=office.15).aspx
Thus, it’s expected behavior that there will be error when use Outlook 2013. I recommend you update your Exchange server or use Outlook 2003/2007/2010.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
