Overheating issue - 90b error

Good evening, Since I bought my HP laptop I've had the overheating problem that I know is familiar to most HP users. My computer usually sounds like a helicopter and when running some more demanding programs, or even if it's just a hot day and I'm watching a video, it shuts down. Today I went to clean it up, following the usual advice of blowing air through the openings on the side and underneath, and when I came home and turned it on, the computer went down really fast and when turning it back on, this message showed up: The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly.Continued operation is not recommended and may cause unpredictable behavior that could result in random shutdown, data loss or possible system damage. The system will shut down in 15 seconds. To prevent shutdown and continue operation, press the Enter key now.System Fan (90b) This isn't the usual message I get when the computer overheats, also, for the first time since I took it out the store 4 years ago, it was dead silent.  Can somebody please help me understand what happened and how can I fix it?  Thank you so much in advance, I'll really appreciate your help

If you will provide the complete product number I can find that for you. It also depends on how your notebook is configured. Is your notebook one with a discrete graphics module or an interated builtin Intel or AMD graphics solution?
1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see This HP web document if you don't how to locate the model number and\or product number.

  • IMac 27" (Late 2012) Loud Fan and Overheating Issues, causing Hard Drive Failure

    Hi all,
I'm having some serious overheating issues with my new iMac. Any help to help me solve this problem would be gladly appreciated since it's really beginning to bug me. Here's what's has happened:
I noticed in the first few hours of switching the iMac on that there was a short burst of very loud fan noise. This has been happening about once every two days since and every time I haven't been doing any heavy processing with the system. I've noticed that the main fan will spin, on average, at 1200rpm. Is that normal? The iMac is very well ventilated and sits right next to a window...
I have also boot camped the iMac with a copy of Windows 8 so I could run some fairly power-hungry games. I intentionally purchased a high end iMac (27" display, Intel Core i7 3.4GHz, Nvidia GeForce 680MX Graphics, 1TB Fusion drive) and expected the iMac to run games flawlessly. However, after a few days, I noticed that the CPU and GPU had shot up to a worrying 80°C whenever I ran power-hungry games, with a very loud hissing noise from the fan. After running games for about 10 minutes, the fan will stop hissing, causing the GPU and CPU to increase to 100°C. The iMac then fails and switches off unexpectedly without any warning. After analysing the Windows event logs, I received an event ID 41: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
As this occurred about six times whilst I was testing my iMac's performance, I think my hard drive has now begun to fail - sometimes I will hear the hard drive make a click noise, about once every 5 seconds. Sometimes, the clicking noise causes OS X and Windows to run very slowly (even though minimal RAM is being used and nothing too intensive (Safari, Mail etc.) is being processed). Running Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions under OS X's recovery mode as well as a repair in chkdsk in Windows suggests that there were no problems with the hard drive. All I can do is wait a while for the clicking noise to stop, and then performance will increase. I have backed up everything externally.
I have also performed a reset of the SMC as well as the PRAM, which hasn't really helped.
Any help will be appreciated. I will gladly provide any extra logs etc. if they're needed.
    Thanks so much,
    Alex.

That's the default fan speed on iMacs, so there isn't any problem with this.

You must know that Boot Camp isn't compatible with Windows 8 and that Apple hasn't released drivers for Windows 8, so it can fail. Install Windows 7 inmediately until Apple launches updated drivers.
As it looks like the hard disk is damaged, I would take the Mac to an Apple Store. It's in warranty, so it should be repaired for free or you should receive a new one

  • Qosmio X870 GFX- Overheating issue

    Hi!
My Notebook recently started to get bluescreens of death (nvlddmkm.sys errors) so i tried to fix them newer/other drivers, still just a small to no success.
So that has to be a overheating issue.
I tried to disassemble the chassis to clean the gfx fan+grill but I am afraid of damaging it.
I was only able to open the small side (RAM, SSD/HDD, OSD).
Is there any tutorial for the rest of the chassis?
PS: I could use a can of compressed air, but I think it will just blow the dust into the Laptop and not solving the problem right away.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    > Is there any tutorial for the rest of the chassis?
X870 does not seem to be an old notebook.
I assume warranty is still valid right?
In such case I would not recommend to disassemble the notebook.
This would cancel your warranty and there is a high risk of part damage.
In case this overheating issue isnt related to dust, I would recommend asking an technician for an check

I use the compressed air spray to clean my fans from time to time and this works perfectly.

  • The Game Center is "unable to load data due to network connectivity issues or errors".

The Game Center is "unable to load data due to network connectivity issues or errors".
My internet is fine: all other apps that do not rely on the Game Center work, as does my browser and other online functions; additionally, a friend's iPhone connects to his Game Center perfectly while he is sitting next to me.
Closing the Game Center app and then reopening it is ineffective. Opening the options for the Game Center in the settings, logging out of my Apple ID, then logging back in, and then reopening the Game Center is ineffective. Opening the options for the Game Center in the settings, logging out of my Apple ID, then reopening the Game Center app and logging back in from there is ineffective.
This issue has gone on for more than a month, and so the phone has gone through all variations of "turn it off then back on again, refresh the system, etc etc" that are the basic first suggestions for trouble shooting.
One game app, which required a Game Center profile to launch, stopped working entirely, and would return a message saying something like "connect to the Game Center". I eventually deleted it to free up space. Other games which can be linked to the Game Center to connect with friends simply fail to link, returning "Game Center unavailable". This is the aspect that is currently bothering me the most: I cannot play games with friends unless the app can also link to Facebook and connect to friends from there.
When I open the Game Center, I see the following screen. The bubbles float gently, and it seems as if I had the ability to update my "status". However doing so results in a message that has vanished once the app is reopened.
Upon tapping Games, either the bubble from the main screen or the option on the ribbon at the bottom, the following screen appears. Clicking on Challenges shows a message that achievements must be viewed to issue a challenge. Clicking achievements results in a message that games must be connected (and from my friend's phone I know I have several apps that should appear).
Upon tapping friends, it does show me a list of suggested friends pulled from Facebook, but attempting to send a friend request results in the following screen. After accepting the error box, the "send" button for the request is grayed out and unavailable regardless of adding or deleting friends and/or an accompanying message.
In short, the Game Center is completely unresponsive for no discernible reason, and this problem began with no warning and is now long term. Though my iPhone is older (a 4s), my friend's is even older (a regular 4) and works fine.

I am having the very same problem on my iPad running ios 7. All is fine on my iPhone it opens no problem - this is running on ios 8. I wish they would fix it.

  • Issuing an Error in Table Maintenance Event

    Hi,
How can I issue an error in the table maintenance event without exiting the screen.
When an event is triggered (Before Save), it will perform a check in the data changed or created. It will issue an error when the changes are not correct. But when I press enter or click on the check button, it will exit the table maintenance screen.
What do I have to do in order to issue an error but will still go back to the table maintenance view.
Making the message as information or type I, will not work because it will still save.

    Hi,
I came to the same problem, maybe this will help someone.
You can move check into view cluster event.
    1. load the view
         PERFORM vcl_set_table_access_for_obj
              USING 'view'
              CHANGING error_flag.
    2. assing to structure
         LOOP AT <vcl_total> INTO ls_view
    3. perform check, set VCL_STOP which will stop saving and will display message
         VCL_STOP = 'X'.

  • Why apple has not fixed or atleast responded to users on LION Overheating issue???

I am having a MacBook Pro 13 bought last year.
I was happy with my snowleopard but, my friend sugested to upgrade to LION, paid all money and upgraded to LION,
Within a week overheating started, and it was difficult to keep it on my lap.
I have tried all the tricks mentioned in apple communities and other websites to solve this heat ,, sorry OVERHEATING issue .. but no benefit....
My MacBook Pro 13 had been thouroughly checked in apple serivce centre and no hardware issue had been found for the heat issue... so its LION only...
Also to mention that i use very less number of applications opened at a time, like firefox, chrome and itunes. So the heating is not due to usage of heavy applications .
After searching the whole interenet and apple community forum, i am surprised to see that there is no response from anyone in apple.. dont they periodically check what apple users are facing.. ?? dont they monitor the apple community so that they can fix the issues before it gets out of hand.....
I think Apple doesnt care on whats happening in Apple community portal, so we all are on our on...
I had a very good impression abt apple. until before upgrading to Lion... crap my MONEY IS GONEEE.
For anyone who got solution for this issue, other than the trick to delete Citrix plugin, disable spotlight etc, I am ready to welcome any new WORKING solution for this OVERHEATING...

@@ds store i am thinking the same now...
@@Eric. i did trying that 2 weeks back itself.. no improvement
@@OGELTHORPE i already have the iStat Pro. this we can monitor the heat. thats it.. this wont solve the issue.
hmmm dont know.. if i dont get a solution by today i am gonna go back to snow leopard...
Why to burn my aptop hardware due to the stupid LION's overheating....

  • Video Card overheating issue

I'm having issues with my intel based iMac. Whenever I play World of Warcraft, I am having overheating issues with my video card. I get weird graphical errata, slowdown, freezing, and system crashes because of it. I have tried capping the fps through console command, downloaded an application to raise the minimum RPMs on my fans, and set up a boxfan behind my iMac.
Where are the air-intakes on the 24" iMac? I would like to try using a can of compressed air, in case it is clogged by dust or lint.
What further steps can I take if that doesn't work? If I take it to my nearest AASP, can it still be repaired under warranty, assuming it's a hardware issue?
intel iMac 24"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   2.16 GHz intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 667MHz Bus Speed, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Run the hardware test that came with your machine:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303081
If nothing is detected, it is likely your problem is the RAM.
If something is detected, take it to the AASP and have them repair what is detected.
If the program you are using is PowerPC based, upgrade it to an Intel based program. That may solve the problem.
