OVM 3.0.3 importing templates issue

We are doing some testing with the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment and Oracle provides templates to use for Oracle VM. The instructions are a bit confusing but I am stuck at trying to import these templates.
Here are the templates I have hosted on a web server so I can import them into OVM.
http://<server>/templates2/E1_EL5U5_X86_64_PVM_10GB.tar.bz2 --> This is the only one I can import successfully. When completed it shows a system.img file and I can actually setup a VM and it boots up fine. (Oracle Linux 5 OS)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_DB_898.4.1_11GR2_X86_64.tar.bz2.part.0 (2.0 GB)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_DB_898.4.1_11GR2_X86_64.tar.bz2.part.1 (2.0 GB)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_DB_898.4.1_11GR2_X86_64.tar.bz2.part.2 (2.0 GB)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_DB_898.4.1_11GR2_X86_64.tar.bz2.part.3 (2.0 GB)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_DB_898.4.1_11GR2_X86_64.tar.bz2.part.4 (2.0 GB)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_ENT_898.4.1_X86_64.tar.bz2     (2.0 GB)
http://<server>/templates2/E1_HTML_898.4.1_WLS_X86_64.tar.bz2 (700 MB)
All the other templates I get an error when it is unpacking the template. The error reads
"Server error message: Template import error: Cannot find disk file: system.img
on server "44:45:4c:4c:52:00:10:48:80:51:ca:c0:4f:42:46:31" associated with object "cfgFile_0004fb000014000024d7f889441e1672""
Why is it looking for this system.img file? These other templates contain *.img files they just are not called system.img (ex E1_HTML.img, ...)
I should note I am using local storage for my repository (1 TB drive) but I haven't had any issues with that so far.
Thanks
Troy

You need to combine all these files into a single .tar.gz file first -- follow the README on E-Delivery for the template to recombine and unpack the template. Unfortunately, OVM3 can't do the recombination for you.

  • Unable to import template

I've been having trouble trying to import Oracle E-business DB template. The template is about 30GB in size, and it seems to fail after a long period of being "in progress"
I'm thinking that it's because my server pool cluster LUN is only 10GB big, and isn't large enough for the template, but I can't confirm that because the following debug makes no sense to me at all.

    Hi,
Yo may verify if it is a storage issue by following steps below:
    1. Import the template like you normally do...
    2. While the import is in progress, ssh onto the OVS server (s), if your have clustered LUN, you may login to any one of the OVS server in the serverpool
    3. df -h # to list the file system.
    4. You may keep en eye on the utiliztion for file system fo holding template. If the usage for the file system go to 100% befor ethe import completed, you should be facing storage issue.
You mentioned that it took a long while before the import failed. This is because it take a while to fill up the 10GB mount point you have for the import.
I faced the similar issue recently. After increased my storage from 50GB to 300GB, I am all good with my import template.

Hardware virtualized (HVM) guests with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel always use paravirtualized (PV) drivers
Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel version kernel-uek-2.6.32-100.34.1 adds support for paravirtualized drivers in a HVM guest on Oracle VM. Starting with this kernel version, the default is to present only paravirtualized drivers when running in a hardware virtualized guest. To run kernel-uek --including the drivers-- fully hardware virtualized, an additional kernel boot parameter "xen_emul_unplug=never" must be added to the boot parameters in /etc/grub.conf:
    kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.32-100.34.1.el5uek ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 xen_emul_unplug=never
Adding this kernel boot parameter makes the kernel also present the emulated drivers as it did before (e.g. the 8139cp network driver). "
Update "grub.conf" to boot non-UEK kernel,
    [root@ovm]# grep ^default boot/grub/grub.conf
    default=1
    [root@ovm# cat boot/grub/device.map
    # this device map was generated by anaconda

    [root@ovm]# cat boot/grub/device.map

I have had success importing VirtualBox images of OEL 6.4, but I am unable to import Solaris 11 VMs to OVM. When I import a Solaris 11 VM, the grub menu comes up. I select Solaris 11 and press enter. The OS begins to boot and progresses through to this point:
    SunOS Release 5.11 Version 11.1 64-bit
Copyright (c) 1983, 2012, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
It is at this point that console window in OVM goes black and OVM registers the shutdown of the VM. I have not been able to get the VM to boot any further through the sequence.
Can you give me some grub configuration changes to try?

  • Email Alert Template Issue - List Alerts (Alert Me) emails not using customized XML alert template

We have recently customized the XML alerts template (AlertTemplates.xml) for our site collection in SharePoint 2010 to exclude specific fields in the email when users who have subscribed using the "Alert Me" feature. We have renamed the
custom alerts XML file and loaded the custom template in the following directory (%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML) and restarted IIS.  Once users subscribe to the alerts using the list "alert me"
function they received the customized email as intended.
We needed to auto-subscribe users to the email alerts so what we did was use a powershell script to add users to the alert subscriptions using the script shown below:

When we ran the script and added the users and restarted the service, all users who were auto-subscribed via this method get the email without the customizations that were done in teh custom alert template.  All users who manually subscribed on their
own to the list using the "Alert Me" function would get the customized email.
Does anyone know why users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, and users who were auto-subscribed using the powershell script do not get the customized email and get the standard generic email template?

    Hi  ,
According to your code, it create a new alert using SPUser.Alerts.Add() method. For this method, it will create a new alert based on the predefined alert template by default.
If you only assigned the custom alert template to the list, users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, but users who were auto-subscribed using the PowerShell script get the standard
    generic email template.
For your issue, you can set the new alert ‘s alert template:

Here is a good blog you can have a look:

  • There is no 'Position' field on the advanced Customer Import template - how do i add this?

    Hi All ,
I'm sure im not the first one to encounter this issue but i dont see another question similar .
My client would like to also add the customer's 'Position' to the CRM record when they upload the spreadsheet. IE Bob Smith, Managing Director....
There is no column for 'Position' - How would you suggest going about doing this?
    Thanks .

    Hi,
If you have generated this field via Admin > CRM > Extend CRM Database, then when going to CRM > Customers > Import Contacts (Advanced), near the bottom of the page, you'll see a drop-down ("Choose CRM Form if you wish to import custom information for contacts") from where you can choose to include the respective field in the import template.
    Kind Regards,
    Alex

  • Prime Infrastructure importing templates

    Hi all,
We have an existing WCS setup (7.0.240.0).
I have built up a Prime Infrastructure server running release 1.3.0.20.
Originally I was going to look at migrating our existing WCS configure but the two stage process (WCS -> NCS -> Prime) looked prone to errors. Dediced to skip it and concentrate and building up from blank slate.
The only exception was the floorplan maps for Wifi, I was able to export these straight from WCS to Prime without any hicups.
I then added our main WLC and assigned the APs to the correct maps.
    Sweet!
Now I would like to get the templates going for our WLCs as i have a couple more to deploy. The issue is that I dont want to manually configure templates in Prime. WCS had the ability to import templates from an existing WLC, a goldern WLC config. I cant seem to find any doco indicating this ability. Anyone come across something similar or another way I might acheive?
    Cheers
    Chris

    From the Classic Theme:::
Go to Configure> Controllers, Select the Controller(s), select Discover Templates from Controllers

  • Is it possible import templates manually, i.e without VM Manager

    Hi
In OVM 3.0.3 is it possible import templates using command line? I have look throguh the documentation but VM Manager is used always when dealing with templates.
Also is it possible manage OVM 3.0.3 with VM Manager 3.0 or 2.2?
    Thanks a lot

I am trying to setup a OVM 3.0.3 on my laptop. I dont have any additional server. so, I thought, I will make one guest, install OVMM there and then use manger for rest of the work. How to do that? You can't -- you need the Manager up and running before Oracle VM is able to create guests. You also need at least two hard drives for Oracle VM, something else that a laptop probably won't have. With Oracle VM 3.1, you'll be able to run both Server and Manager in VirtualBox, though.

  • Multiple Images Import template?

    Hi folks,
First of all, I cannot find the link to product import templates anywhere after an hour's search. That is just wrong!
Secondly, as I remember seeing one, it doesn't offer multiple views of a single product. But i've seen stores with multiple product views.
Can someone direct me to the proper database templates and import files for adding multiple images to a product?
    TIA

Hi Liam,  So are the poplets connected to the product database and is there a way to bulk upload them with the csv file?  Or does this have to be done individually by hand? If there isn't a place for the additional items in the csv file, then it seems they aren't directly linked in the product database?
I think I found the template before when I was doing research for the BC product in the product information area and not in the actual product import area. I couldn't see the download template until after I pressed product import. That was very deep in the system, with multiple clicks to get there.

  • Text field does not expand in imported template

    Hi Guys,
I need to import a .pdf document template and work from there.  Some of the fields will recieve text values that are of a length that is not known at design time.  Therefore, the field needs to be able to grow.  I cannot get this to work.
If I do the same procedure in a form from I create from scratch (wrapping text field in in subform, set subform as flowed etc etc) this does seem to work.  But, when I apply the same steps in the template I just CANNOT get the text fields to grow dynamically.
Is it therefore only possible to design expandable fields in forms you build from scratch in Adobe LuveCycle designer or are there steps you can recommend for achieveing the same thing when working from an imported template?
    Kind Regards,
    Christiaan

So it that likely to change in the foreseeable future?

  • Does IIS Reset stop/start or IIS Restart fix template issues? See photos.

I have been having major template issues over the past couple of weeks where several templates give me access denied. I have been in contact with Microsoft about the issue, but after 2 days and 5 hours on the phone, the issue still cannot be resolved.
I then tried to use old sites that had the templates and "Save Site as Template". The new template that was saved are stored in the Solutions Gallery (template is "activated").
I ran the create new site process and chose the new template that I saved.
The template looked like this last week,
Now the template looks like this today.
In between last week and this week, I did an SP2 installation to Project Server 2010/SharePoint 2010.
I also did an IIS Reset /stop and IIS reset/ start
I also went into the IIS Manager on the central administration server and clicked "Restart".
This is a very time sensitive issue, and want to know how I accidentally resolved the issue. It's very weird that any of these above would change the template, but somehow it did. I do not want to reset IIS if I do not have to. If anyone has any idea on
how this could have gotten resolved it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi TR,
Not sure if iisreset always fixes this issue.
Sorry for my misleading description, I thought that there was a possiable that some js/css files weren't loaded in the browser randomly for new site created based on the template, so I think maybe some js/css files customized
and referenced in the orginal site (or in new site) may need to be checked-in and published.
Now I think is it possible that the issue is related to js/css load sequence in browser? or is it browser compatible issue(maybe not based on iisreset)?
Or you may try add new site in trusted site in IE see if it helps.
Also check if browser F12 developer tool could provide some useful information.
    Thanks

  • Import template for the intrastat in 2007a

Is there an import template for the intrastat in 2007 for items and B.Ps - have seen the intrastat wizard option - but is there not a DTW option?

    Dear Sam,
From Intrastat version 2007A on, the BNITMDV and BNBPDV are no longer UDTs but UDOs (User defined objets).
Offically, DTW does not support importing UDOs but supports UDTs.
As far as workaround concerned, if the UDO performs the same as UDT, that means it have only a table and doesn't belong to any other object and doesn't have sub-objects ( sub-table ), DTW can imports it likes UDT.
The reason is that DTW is based on DI API and it only supports the objects which DI API exposes and supports.
Regarding BNBPDV, it is relevant to BusinessPartners object, at present, DTW can not support BNBPDV, so does BNITMDV.

    Hello,
I'm having problems running the .sql script to import templates - anyone else come across this before I go in and edit the file? I run the script, enter the parameters and then get :

Anyone else got any ideas/seen this? I don't want to have to copy/paste lots of templates...<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Had a similar problem,...after looking at it, it seems that the placement of #PAGE.STYLE# at the beginning of the line caused the problem. My fix was to indent the #PAGE.SYTLE# and everything was fine.

         5.thanks for your help!

    Ian,
So, in other words, you're saying that it's not possible to export directly objects (like smart albums) that reside outside of projects?
I know, for example, you can "export" anything created inside a folder by dragging and dropping the folder to another library; but you then have to rebuild the library to get the new folder and its contents to be recognized. For my library, this takes too much time to do.

  • ACS 5.1 Import Template gives File Format Validation Failed

    Hi folks,
Network Resources - Network Devices and AAA Clients- File Operations - Add - gives me File Format Validation Faliled. I am carefull to leave the header as it is. The header in the Import Template looks faulty, see attached. When exporting devices I also get the same header as attached.
I also tried to change the header so its all in one column, but with same result.
    Please advise. Thanks.

I haven't had the time to drill on this completely but looks like your file is getting mangled as it got downloaded and edited
I extracted your file and put in a text editor. looks like this
    name:String(64):Required,description:String(1024),subnets:Subnets(a.b.c.d/m;"...):Required,""supportRADIUS:Boolean(true,false):Required"",radiusSecret:String(32),""supportTACACS:Boolean(true,false):Required"",tacacsSecret:String(32),""singleconnect:Boolean(true,false)"",""legacyTACACS:Boolean(true,false)"",Location:String(256),Device Type:String(256)"
The quote characters seem duplicated and there is an extra quote in Subnets header field that should be removed
Can't guaranetee anything but worth getting into a text editor and trying to clean it up

    Hi all,
While importing template from closing cockpit from one client(Development System)  to another client (Quality System), the "Variant ",  "Notes"  &  "Office Document" added to task are not getting imported to receiving client(Quality System).
Is there any other procedure or OSS Note to be implemented.
    Thanks & Regards,
    vijay

There are many things need to be corrected for Closing Cockpit. And I think SAP is currently working on it they released many notes on July 08, 15 and 17.
May be for now you cannot transport with doc, notes and variants.
    Thanks
