  • OVM 3.0.3: Please wait while system is initializing issue

    Hello,
    after logging in to OVM 3.0.3 I cannot do anything anymore. I see the states of the vms and the servers but when I want to modify anything I simply get the current time and the errror Please wait while system is initializing.
    And the system really isn't initializing anymore, unless it takes a few days... I'm using a 11g SE database. I used to have a problem to login which I resolved by manually restarting the DB/listener and OVMM again. But now I get this weird issue when I'm logged in, I see all but I cannot use anything.
    Seems like the OVM isn't in sync anymore with the real database items.
    Does anyone know what to do next? I wonder how I can resync the manager with the database commandline?
    Kind regards,
    J

    Avi,
    nothing really noticeable, does this provide any insight for you?:

    There's also the AdminServer.log to scan. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but I too had the same problem with my VM Manager (running in a VirtualBox VM on my machine, whilst the VM servers are running bare metal) after restarting it. After scanning the log I noticed that there was a complaint of time drift between the OS and the DB so I did an ntpdate -u , restarted the system and upon re-accessing the Manager, all was well again. Yes, time sync is quite important for the Oracle VM Manager for a few reasons: firstly, to align stats received by all the Oracle VM Servers to manage policies in the pool, also Oracle VM Manager is automatically configured as an NTP time source for Oracle VM Servers that are discovered, so it's worthwhile trying to run Oracle VM Manager all the time as a reference time source in your environment.Ah, gotcha. Well then, I might have to move from using openfiler on third server to a proper linux host using tgt to export iscsi luns and run the Manager there. My workstation is a little less stable/static than a proper sandbox server :-)
    Thanks Avi.

  • Please Wait While Windows Configures Trusted Drive Manager

    Sometimes when I get an email with an attachment and try to open it I get a message that says "Please wait while Windows configures Trusted Drive Manager". It is annoying to see this and I'm not sure how to get rid of the message. Thank you for
    your help.

    Thanks for the link.  Software that comes with this computer doesn't have the Dell Protection since it is a work computer.
    Hi,
    Both the error message and the event log were all pointing to Trust Drive Manger.
    Consider it happened to certain attachments, I suspected that there might be some feature of those attachment triggered this alert, like file type or something. So could please check what
    these attachments had in common.

  • OVM Manager 3.1.1 - Repo Locked

    Morning All,
    I was creating a new VM yesterday and at the same time there was an issue on the network unrelated to the creation. I had to cancel the VM creation but have now found this morning that the Repo the VM was being created on is locked.
    OVM Manager Shows no pending tasks etc. Is there an easy way to clear the lock ?
    Much appreciated.
    Regards

    Repo was assigned to just 3 servers ... stopped ovs-agent on all 3 then started again. Solved issue.

  • OVM Manager 2.2.2: server pool error with file system type

    I'm just getting started with OVM. I've installed OVM on one machine and the manager on another.
    I created a server pool, which seemed to work OK but shows "Error" in the table under the "Server Pools" tab in the manager interface
    When I edit it I see
    Error: OVM-1011 OVM Manager communication with NNN.NNN.NN.NNN for operation Pre-check cluster root for Server Pool failed: <Exception: SR '/dev/sda3' not supported: type 'ocfs2.local' not in ['nfs', 'ocfs2.cluster']>
    Can anyone explain this? Does this mean I can't use a local file system in OVM 2.2.2? I understood this was the case with OVM 3, which is why I went with 2.2.2.
    Thanks.

  • T61p - Please wait while Windows configures Client Security Password - Manager

    My T61p system is fully updated, however I continue to get "Please with while windows configures Client Security Password - Manager." and then the computer trys to install
    css_manager_vista_tpm.exe
    over and over again.
    What is the problem here and how can I solve?
    How can I contact Lenovo-Thinkpad to assist?
    The problem has reoccured even after I did a system restore to an earlier date.
    It seems to initiate when I first boot up and then open up "Pictures"
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Well, I take everything back. After removing all password entries and re-installing/rebooting, it worked for a while. But now it is doing it all over again. I tried to call techincal support, but they then said I would have to pay for software support and they only support hardware, and to re-install the OS. Great, jeez, I couldn't have tried that myself, and that is so simple and takes no time at all (detecing sarcasm yet?)
    I do a lot of work for large corporations that are watching the IBM=>Lenovo takeover very closely to see if they are going to drop Thinkpads altogether and go with another laptop vendor. This type of weak support does not bode well. The person I was on the phone with was rude, hard to understand, and even told me there was no place to escalate the call to.
    There is no replacement for customer support. It is sad to see no Lenovo involvement in this forum, and don't make the mistake of thinking this is an isolated problem at this time. It is growing.
    Though Thinkpads are great Laptops, Toshiba used to have the market, but their support or should I say lack of it led to their downfall and position of leadership loss.
    It will be no different if Lenovo continues to act like a machine churner.

  • OVM-1000 OVM Manager could not connect to...

    Hello
    I am trying to create a Server Pool using OVM 2.2.
    When I try to do it, I get the error "OVM-1000 OVM Manager could not connect to 127.0.0.1, please check the IP and Oracle VM agent password"
    I've tried with dynamic and static IP.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    César

    Fixed it. Shutdown all the VMs and rebooted the base server. Configured the ovs-agent ( ovs-agent configure) again and restarted the ovs-agent.(ovs-agent restart). Now i am able to import the templates.
    Also OVM Manager shows all the VMs in shutdown status after reboot the base server and i fixed it used "Reset" button in OVM Manager.
    1) Click on the Virtual Machines tab found on the top left corner.
    2) Select the radio button of the appropriate virtual machine that has the incorrect status displayed.
    3) Click on the ‘More Actions:’ drop down box and select the option ‘Reset’
    4) Click the ‘Go’ button for the reset to take place.
    Once the ‘Go’ button is selected, the virtual machine will reset and display the appropriate virtual machine status.

  • OVM - 1000 OVM Manager could not connect

    Hi,
    I installed OVM following the installation guide. Every node can ping each other, but when I try to create a server pool i meet the following error:
    OVM - 1000 OVM Manager could not connect to 110.130.10.45, please check the IP and Oracle VM agent password.
    The IP is ok and connection too. I'm also sure that the agent password is correct. What other check I have to do?

    Hi,
    have a look @ following MOS Note:
    https://supporthtml.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=469169.1&h=Y
    To debug communication problems with the agent.
    Furthermore make sure, that in your /etc/hosts the hostname does not apper in the 127.0.0.1 line.

  • Message Manager "Please Wait" Message.

    Hi Experts,
    referring to "Display PDF in Popup / How to do this?
    I'm developing a WebDynpro where the user can convert its output into PDF and display/download it. The Converting Process is started via a button. Once the user klicks the button, there's quite a lot of stuff happening in the background, It'll take about 10-15secs. I'm afraid that some users might start hammering on F5 once nothing appears on screen after 3 secs or so, thus I want to display a message "Please Wait until..." etc once the user clicks on that button. I thought I could just do that at the beginning of my Event Handler of the Button. But the message is displayed as recently as the complete method has run through...
    How can I immediately display a message once a user klicks on that button?
    best regards,
    Lukas

    Hi,
    You can write your message handling code before your actual code, i.e. at starting, first it will execute and display message.
    OR
    You better display popup confirmation message saying that "Please wait 15 Sec.. Processing" Like that.
    Check Below code..
    data lo_window_manager type ref to if_wd_window_manager.
      data lo_api_component  type ref to if_wd_component.
      data lo_window         type ref to if_wd_window.
      data lo_view_controller type ref to if_wd_view_controller.
      data :  lt_text TYPE string_table,
              ls_text TYPE string.
      ls_text = ' Please WAit 15 Sec...Processing..'.
      INSERT ls_text INTO TABLE lt_text.
    Get Window manager
      lo_api_component  = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
      lo_window_manager = lo_api_component->get_window_manager( ).
      lo_window = lo_window_manager->create_popup_to_confirm( text = lt_text
      button_kind     = if_wd_window=>CO_BUTTONS_OK
      message_type    = if_wd_window=>CO_MSG_TYPE_WARNING
      window_title    = 'Information to Confirm...'
      window_position = if_wd_window=>co_center ).
      lo_view_controller = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
    creating ok button
      lo_window->subscribe_to_button_event(
                 button = if_wd_window=>co_button_ok
                 action_name = 'OK'          // Createonce action of name OK.
                 action_view = lo_view_controller
                 is_default_button = abap_false ).
    Set the height and width here
      lo_window->set_window_size( width = '40%' height = '5%' ).
      lo_window->open( ).
    Cheers,
    Kris.
