P&L, Balance sheet( BPC apps)

Hi friends,
I'm want build BPC balance sheet application(i.e balance sheet is YTD based).
Earlier i designed BPC P&L application(periodic based), it is working as per expectation.
My question, can i manage both(P&L, Balance sheet applications) in single BPC applicaiton(i.e periodic based)?
Any prerequisites that i consider, pls share.
thanks,
naresh

Thanks Raju, for your response.
I extracted balance sheet values from R/3 to BW & from BW to BPC EVdre template.
I checked cumulative balances per periodic in Evdre they are matched to R/3 figs.
Here when i changed measure value (cv) to YTD from periodic, will it give correct info? i.e ytd format.
In my case right now template showing correct values in YTD format, because in system only 2010 year data availble( R/3 system 3 months back went live).
Any suggestion regarding building of evdre template(Balance sheet) i.e settings releated to periodic/ytd?
thanks,
naresh

    Hi SG,
What Raghu has shared are the best practices. However, what you need is the understanding of the these financial statements from a general perspective (not BPC). These documents are just financial statements. BPC is just a tool, in which you can create these statements. But, in order to create these statements in BPC, you need to understand the basic terminologies of the financial statements.
You can search them directly. on the internet.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to transfer current year profit to the Balance sheet in BPC 7.5nw

    Dear Experts,
I have  maintained script logic for current year profit transfer to Balance sheet. How to check my self whether the profit is moved or not properly. I ran the Legal Consolidation package. This was success. Now how to check by giving the test data values and what combination I have to use in Current view and In Input schedule.  I have maintained two cubes that is moments and Balances cubes. or else through input schedule how can i test with test data. or advise me clearly the steps to execute.
    Regards,
    GURU

    Hi,
The current year profit should automatically be transferring to your reserves whenver you have data for your P&L accounts.
The net effect of your income and expense accounts should be tranferred to your reserves account as per your script logic.
    Thanks,
    Sreeni

  • Moving Net Income to Balance Sheet with Business Rule

    Hello,
The system is BPC 7.0 SP3, on SQL 2008
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.  I created a business rule that moves Net Income Year to Date to the Balance Sheet, and call it through logic.
The problem I am having is that all periods are calculating correctly except for Period 12.  The same number that is calculate for Period 11 is posted to Period 12.
The Time Dimension looks correct with it's prior and current and next properties.
Here is the Business Rule setup, all entries you do not see are NULL
Transformation Group        Source         Source DataSRC     Destination Account   Destination DataSRC
    CEYTD                                NetIncome     TOTALADJ             29210                          Input
    Reverse Sign                      YTD        Remark
    False                                    True        CEYTD
Here is the logic I use to call the stored procedure.
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCALCACCOUNT([%App%], [Actual], [USD], [%SCOPETABLE%], [%LOGTABLE%], [CEYTD], [99])
    *COMMIT
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCALCACCOUNT([%App%], [Actual], [LC], [%SCOPETABLE%], [%LOGTABLE%], [CEYTD], [99])
    *COMMIT
If anyone has experienced this issue before, I would really appreciate some help on how to resolve it.
    Thank you,
    Mark Glowczewski

    Hi
why not try the script logic in doing this it will be much more flexible
    Thanks

  • Tallying Trial Balance in BPC EVDRE

    Hello Experts,
We are on SAP BO BPC 7.5 NW, SP07.
We have uploaded the Trial Balance directly from BI Infocube. In the transformation file, CREDITPOSITIVE=YES, therefore, in the backend BI signs remain as they are in SAP ECC but in EVDRE all credits (LEQ and INC) are positive, which is ok.
Now, when i run EVDRE for P/L items there is a balance is say INR 100 (FLOW=F_999) which is profit for the period. Similarly, when I run EVDRE for B/S items there is a balance of INR -100 (FLOW=F_999), therefore, overall TB balance is zero. When we upload data through BI, due to Default logic F_RES gets updated with INR -100. This is where the problem arises, if I see TB with F_999 and F_RES, I get a diff of INR -100. I am confused, if this correct. Kindly help remove my confusion. Secondly, should F_RES get updated with only I_NONE or with all Inter-company transations? I have commented I_NONE in the script logic below.
    Thanks for all your help.
Below in my Default logic file
// Calculating 10080 -  F_RES: Net income of the period in the balance sheet
// Information: [XDIM_MEMBERSET FLOW=<xx>] is mandatory in the default logic
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET FLOW=F_RES
// F_RES must be included in order to enable difference calculation
    //*XDIM_MEMBERSET IntCo=I_NONE
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET Groups=NON_GROUP
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET C_ACCT<>10080
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET FLOW<>F_RES
// Excludes flow F_RES and account 10080 from the source data region
    *WHEN C_ACCT.ACCTYPE
      *IS "INC"
      *REC(FACTOR=1,C_ACCT="10080",FLOW="F_RES")
      *ELSE
      *WHEN C_ACCT.ACCTYPE
      *IS "EXP"
    *REC(FACTOR=1,C_ACCT="10080",FLOW="F_RES")
    *ENDWHEN
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT

    Hi Rajat,
This is normal based on your description. Without updating your retained earnings with the total income statement value (100 in your case) the total trial balance will be 0. As soon as you update ret/ear your total TB will be out of balance by 100 as you describe.
This is not a problem. Either you look at your balance sheet which would be 0, or you look at your total TB excluding the ret/ear account, this will also be 0.
    Tom.

  • Caary forward of balance sheet accounts

    Hello,
I do have a problem with the carrying forward of balance sheet accounts. I would like to write the closing balance of the accounts of the previous month to the opening balance of the following month. It is for operative planning. I have created following business rule within the Finance application of BPC for the account technical equipment:
Account                    Account Detail      Account   Account Detail   Reverse   Data       Same    YTD
(Closing Bal.)                       (Opening Bal.)    Sign    Src. Type  Period
11101020_TEEQMAOW  ACLO      11101020_TEEQMAOW  AOPE          False     ALL     False    False
I have also created an account transformation rule with analogue specification.
I have referenced both of them in the default.lgf:
    *SysLib Stored_Procedure_wrapper.lgl
    RunCopyOpening(FINANCE,%RptCurrency_Set%,%Category_Set%)
    *Commit
    *SysLib Stored_Procedure_wrapper.lgl
    RunCalcAccount(FINANCE,%Category_Set%,%RptCurrency_Set%)
    *Commit
I have also tried the RunCalcAccount formula with fixed values instead of variable ones.
Before and after I send data with EVDRE, I ran the data manager default package, it runs OK, but it doesn't seem to make any calculations.
Is there any SQL logic or do I have to run the data manger differently? I already have tried some other logic from the user guide and the help, but it didn't work.
Can anybody help me, I'm happy to provide more information.
    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you very much Tim!
I know have tried to compose a SPRunCalcAccount Logic , as well as two SQL logics. Sadly, none of them works.
    SPRunCalcAccount Logic:
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCALCACCOUNT([Finance], [CPlan1])
I have filled out the Business Rule table for the account transformation with the following information:
    11101020_TEEQMAOW    ACLO  11101020_TEEQMAOW  AOPE   False     -1     False   0
Is it OK to fill in -1 for Period and to leave the data source empty?
I have written the logic in the default.lgf to test it, but nothing happened? Do I have to include a Time member?
The two script logics are as follows:
    *CALC_EACH_PERIOD
    *WHEN ACCOUNT
    *IS AOPE, MOVEMENTS
    *REC(ACCOUNT=ACLO)
    *REC(ACCOUNT=AOPE,TIME=NEXT)
    *ENDWHEN
AOPE stands for the Opening Balance within the Account subtable Acctdetail. ACLO stands for the Closing Balance.
    *WHEN ACCOUNT.FINSTMT
    *IS BS
    *REC(FACTOR=GET(ACCTDETAIL=ACLO, TIME=PRIOR), ACCTDETAIL=AOPE)
    *ENDWHEN
BS stands for Balance Sheet within the Account Property FINSTMT (Financial Statement).
Hope this is enough information for you. I thank you very much in advance!

  • Balance sheet reports - YTD or Periodic

    Hello Experts,
Had a question about how and what data needs to be loaded from BW to BPC NW version so that I can create balance sheet reports in BPC. Currently I am loading the periodic debit-credit activity to my planning application for all the accounts (Its the 0FIGL_O14 DSO and there is a custom cube created over it. We are not loading the 0BALANCE from the 0FIGL_C10 cube).
As an example, when we select in the current view both 2011.MAR and YTD, I though the report was supposed to return the values accumulated between 2011.JAN to 2011.MAR for Balance sheet accounts. Instead of that, the report returns only the 2011.MAR value.
But after reading a couple of threads on the forum I found that the above is the right behavior since balance sheet account values are always loaded as YTD.
I know I am doing something wrong out here but dont know the exact reason and how do I correct it?
Please give suggestions around how balance sheets are to be created and what data needs to be exactly loaded from BW...
    Thanks
    Gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,
It is ideal to make all the custom changes in BW itself and feed it as-is to BPC, as to do this in BW it just requires some simple ABAP.
I am assuming that you are feeding data to BPC via 0figl_c10 cube(transaction figures) or a custom cube based on it. This cube should have 0sales(periodic balances) and 0balance(cumulative balances). So enhance this cube with a new key figure and populate this key figure based on the approach that i mentioned to you earlier. Just map this newly added field to BPC signeddata to meet your requirement. This is the best approach that i see.
PS: Please assign points if you find the answers helpful.
    Thanks,

  • Balance Sheet Planning in the Banking industry

I am trying to understand the peculiarities of implementing Planning in the banking industry, especially for balance sheet planning. I am assuming a typical bank which serves individuals and companies with various products. There are a few areas that I wanted inputs on:
    a) What would be the key drivers for such a bank
    b) How are these drivers factored into modelling the Planning app.. as in are these drivers corporate of branch level or both
    c) How do the products offered by the bank affect balance sheet planning
Again due to the generic nature of the request I am expecting a wide range of answers. Hence please chime in with your inputs.
Thanks in advance for you help.

    Hello Newcommer-
Please consider the guidence provided in the following "How To" document:

  • Setting up Balance Account for Balance Sheet in Hyperion Planning

We are using version 11.1.2.1.0.83 of Hyperion Planning. What is the best way to setup a balancing account for the balance sheet? Should it be store, or dynamic calc? Should a Member formula be used or should it be done via a calc script? What would the member formula look like?

Hmm, I give you the answer, you mark it as answered but don't give me any points, and now you ask another question? I only do this for the points. <grin>
I am still curious as to whether this can be accomplished by embedding a member formula in the balancing account and, if so, what the embeded formula script might look like. ^^^The formulas I illustrated and you implemented could be put into a dynamically calculated member. So long as the account to be balanced is first (I am thinking calculation order) the dynamic calc should be just fine. I've used that approach in Planning apps in the past.

  • Move Net Income to Balance Sheet - MS version

    Hi experts,
I don't know what is the best practice to move net Income to Balance Sheet for MS version. I have already read on another thread that using "CALCACCOUNT" option could be the best.
However we have some problems with data of "M" type Datasrc. When we create a journal which modify Net Income data, we expect data copy to Balance Sheet, but Calccaccount seems not to work with this type of data.
Could you tell me how you solve this problem?
    Thank in advance
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
You would probably get better answers asking this question in the forum for the MS version of BPC. However, I believe you are on the right track with the account transformation business rules (*RUN_PROGRAM CALCACCOUNT, in the NW version).

  • Move net income to balance sheet - NW version

    Hi,
In BPC MS the function ROLLTOBS is used to move net income to balance sheet.
Now I'm using BPC NW (7.0.02) and I'm strugling to find a similar function. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    /Lars

    Lars,
I know this was quite some time ago, but I am having an issue getting this to work for me and I think I have everything setup correclty.  Here is a summary of what I've done:
    1.  added the process chain RUNCALCACCOUNT in DataManager
    2.  modified Finance application to allow Account transformations (calculations)
    3.  created Business Rule to take account NetInc from datasrc All_Sources to account YTDNI / datasrc Other_Input (case sensitive) - saved and validated in 2 individual steps
    4.  Created CALCACCOUNT.LGF script logic with the following and save and validate:
    "   *RUN_PROGRAM RUNCALCACCOUNT
         CATEGORY = ACTUAL
         CURRENCY = %RPTCURRENCY_SET%
         TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
         OTHER = [ENTITY=%ENTITY_SET%]
         *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
         *COMMIT    "
    5.  During testing, I select only one month and run the logic file directly thru DataManager then create a report to verify.
Any insigth you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

  • Balance Sheet AAC in SRM

    Hi,
We have a requirement to have a Balance Sheet AAC in SRM, and the leading field to be 'Profit Center'. But, I think these are not standard in SRM, so can anyone share how to add this option of new AAC and leading field option.
Do I need any more accounting fields to create a Backend PO for AAC = Balance sheets other than Profit Center??
      Please share your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Sreedhar

    Hi
    Try out with the following...
Create a new account assignment category as Balance Sheet in SRM under SRM - SRM server - Cross Apps Basic settings - Account Assignment - Define Account Assgn Categories. Assign this to Backend Balance sheet account assignment.
Select the created balance sheet account assignment and click on the Acct assignment fields - and select the Profit Center as the leading account assignment field.
To cerate the Profit Center as leading account assignment field, proceed as follows:
Table BBP_C_ACC_F       Customizing Table Technical Fields to Acct Assignment Cat. - Create Profit Center
Table BBP_C_ACCFD     Names for Account Assignment Fields in Customizing Table - Give Name to the above created field

  • Aging Report does not match Balance Sheet Receivables/Payables Account

    Hi experts,
I am requesting your help to find out why our customer receivables/vendor payables aging reports total does not match our balance sheet accounts receivable/ accounts payable account for the same period.
    I would expect
Customer Receivables Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet Accounts Receivables Account
Vendor Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet  Accounts Payables Account
    Thank you.
    Jane

When you run the report with an ending/aging date in the past (like the end of last month), if you do not display BP's with zero balances, it will leave out BP's who have a zero balance AT THE TIME YOU RUN THE REPORT.  Some of them may have had a non-zero balance at the end of the month, but they will be left off anyway.  So if a customer owed money on the last day of the month and he paid it on the first of the next month, his balance will not be shown on the report if you run it even one day later.
I feel this is a design defect in the report, but it is the system behavior.
    Marcia
