Page break in Matrix report

Hello Experts,
I am trying to create a custom purchase order that shows shipping distributions.
I have been successful so far in creating a matrix report that shows this. However, the client's requirement is that I limit the items to at least 10 items per page.
I need to be able to create a page break to have 10 items per page and to have the header be included in the next page since the header includes the branches where the goods are supposed to be distributed.
I have tried several things but I was not able to make it work.
I can provide the xml and the rtf template if needed. Thank you.

I insist : it is not possible with HTML to insert Page breaks. BUT, Tammie is right! You can use CSS (Cascade Style Sheet) to insert page breaks thanks to few lines of code in your HTML page.

How to remove the page break for CSV report

Hi,
I'm working on a rdf report and have an issue with page break.
As usual there exits a page break in the report output. how do I remove it.
work around: set Page break before/after : NO
worked on margin re-size, how ever could not resolve the issue.
Can any one help me on this.

There are two ways to do this:
1) If you want to remove and individual dimension from a presentation, you can hide the dimension. This can be performed directly from within QueryBuilder. Within the first section of Query Builder that shows the selected measures selected and associated dimensions, simply remove the required dimensions from the right dialog panel.
2) To hide all page items within a presentation, simply add the following the property, pagingControlVisible="False", to the presentation tag in your JSP. For example:
<orabi:Presentation location="Local Computer Sales/Products/KPI Sales Prior Period and Prior Year" id="BIProductKPIs_pres2" pagingControlVisible="False"/>

Problem with Page Break In ALV Report

Hi
I have got a problem in my ALV report. I have a checkbox in the user input screen where users decide whether they want a page break or not in the print preview (or print) page. Now i also have the option to have layout name in the input screen. so If i leave the layout box empty the check or not check of page break works fine. but if use a save layout name in the layout box the add check box doesn't work anymore. If i have a layout name in the layout box it doesn't matter whether i have checked for page break or not it does the same thing.(in one report it always puts the page breaked)
Any ideas where to look for the error?
here is the code for the page break. Opt5 is the check box.
perform build_sort tables pt_sort changing ls_sort.
ls_sort-fieldname = 'PERNR'.
ls_sort-subtot    = 'X'.
IF OPT5 = 'X'.
   ls_sort-GROUP = '*'.

Never mind it was acting like the page break was not working because the layout was saved with the page break on/OFF.

Page break on Interactive Report

Hi All,
I have an interactive report on EMP table with Controlbreak on Deptno column. I want to add page break after every break. In other words, I want to print each department's employees on a separate page. Any help would be highly appreciated.

How to get page break in PSP reports

is there a way to generate reports with page break using PSP .i
am going to use ORacle 9iAS/9i DB and also apart from ORacle 6i
reports.

Handling page breaks in Crystal Reports XI when exporting to Excel

We generate reports in Crystal Reports and programmatically export them to Excel for our end users, so the user receives both an .rpt and .xls version. We are upgrading from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal XI and have found with some of our reports that the page breaks in Excel are different in Crystal XI than in 8.5. The first page will fill to the end and then the next page will contain a few lines of data, the next will be full and the next will contains a few lines. Viewing the Excel page breaks, there are soft breaks before the short pages and hard breaks before the long pages. It's as if there is too much data defined for each page so it spills onto the next page before creating another hard page break. In Crystal 8.5, the paging was continuous as expected. Is there any way to fix this in Crystal XI?

Add page break when exporting a report as an editable RTF with JRC

Hello,
When exporting a report as an editable rtf in Crystal Reports Designer we can select the option : "Insert page break after each report page".
Does the same option exists in the JRC ? I don't want to use the MSWord export format.

Yes. EditableRTFExportFormatOptions has the following method:
setInsertPageBreaks(boolean bInsertPageBreaks). Sets whether page breaks are inserted into the exported Rich Text Format (RTF) file that correspond to the page breaks in the report.

Report page break not correct in browser

Hi all
I have 150+ reports that I am converting from 6i to 10g. These repors print correctly in 6i (client SErver) with page break at proper places. When I run the same report on web, the page breaks in the reports are converted to lines in the html output. Also the page headers appearin the middle of the page. Page break seems to be controlled by the browser and not by report. How do I make the report page break the same way as in 6i.
any help is appreciated. We are in the middle of testing and the users will not sign off until this is resolved.

Run reports as DESFORMAT=HTML
This will resolve the Page Break issue.
Unfortunately, printing reports from browser will generate a blank last page.
Perhaps the command line parm BLANKPAGES=NO will work for you...
I am told it does not work because printing is a browser issue not a reports issue...

How to set Page break in multiple tables ?

Hi ,
I have 3 tables in my SSRS report . 3 tables have different groups.
All groups are showing in different excel tabs as expected. Also dynamically generating each tab name based on the group name .
But 3 rd table group tab name not generating dynamically but taking 2nd table last group name .
In below example Johnhancock is my last group of table 2. From first group of 3 rd table onwards it will showing as Johnhancock2, Johnhancock3, Johnhancock4 etc. ( Data is correct only issue with tab name )
Note: I have used add a page break after option for all 3 tables . Please suggest if I need to change any settings.

According to your description, you have three tables in a report with page breaks between those tables. When you export this report as excel, you have set the worksheets names showing each group name. Now you find all tabs of the third table shows the last
group name of the second table. Right?
In Reporting Service, when we export a report to an excel file, if we add page breaks for the report manually, then the report will be exported into multiple worksheets based on page breaks, and the report page names determine the name of worksheets. For
testing this scenario, we add page breaks between groups and tables, and put the group name into page name. It works fine when we export it to excel file. So we suggest you check the page name of the third table, make sure the page name is the group name of

New file per page break

Is there a way to have a Crystal Report export a seperate PDF or other format file per page break in the report?

According to my understanding you have a report running into multiple pages and you would like it to have exported on different PDFu2019s.
I have done a quick test and we cannot have a different PDF for each page break in the report. When we export a report that will export the whole report.

When i am exporting it to PDF its giving me 20 pages.How can i make it in 2-3 page max.

In SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), it is designed to use 2 different rules in pagination: Physical pagination and Logical pagination. Physical pagination is used to the print control and the TIFF and PDF rendering extensions. It is controlled by the
PageSize properties.
If we want to use 2-3 pages to display these data, we can modify the PageSize to work around the issue. However, if we print the report, it maybe truncated. Because the limit of print paper. Did you get the extra blank page when you export report to PDF?

In SSRS, if we have no page break in the report, we will get these data in one page when we export the report to Excel. The print layout is relate to paper size. Alternatively, we can adjust the report in Excel to work around the issue.

Set page break after a number of rows

I am trying to set the page break of a table to occur every 200 rows. By default it generates a page break once the report size grows larger than the page length. When I set the property KeepTogether = true, it no longer generates the page breaks but then I have the issue of over 2000 lines on a single page.
I created a group based on the following function:
=CInt(Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/200))
I added a page break between each group instance. The first page now shows 200 lines but all remaining pages continue to page break once the length of the page has been hit (around 22 rows).

Matrix exporting to excel with empty columns, with page break option of "Between each instance of a group" selected.

I am working with Report Builder 3.0 I am using a matrix to produce grouped data on separate worksheets in excel.
The select is:
SELECT ID, Measurement, Value, [Date] FROM Measurements_Report. (please ignore the underscores they are just for formatting)
The contents of the Measurements_Report table:
ID__Measurement__Value__[Date]
1___Hot_________33_____10/1/2014
2___Hot_________44_____10/2/2014
3___Cold_________55_____10/2/2014
The matrix contains a single row group based on the field "measurement". The Measurement group has the page break option of "Between each instance of a group" selected.
There is a column group based on the field "Date".
When this is matrix is exported to excel on the first worksheet (Hot) there are three columns as shown below:
ID__10/1/2014____10/2/2014___10/2/1014
1___33
2_______________44
Notice the last column doesn't have a value.
On the second worksheet (Cold) there are also three columns as shown below:
ID__10/1/2014___10/2/2014___10/2/1014
3__________________________55
This time notice there is only one row and only a value in the last column.
I only want the columns with data for that worksheet to show up. How can I remove these empty/duplicate columns? Hopefully there is a simple fix. Thanks ahead of time.

Why is the same date repeating on multiple columns? Do you've the time part also returned from database?

Matrix Report overflows to other page

We have a Matrix Report (Report Builder 6.0.8.20.1) with a lot of columns. The report is in landscape style, but still the matrix will not fit horizontally.
The second part of the matrix will be displayed on the next page, while there is enough space to display the second part of the matrix on the same page, below the first part of the matrix.
Does anyone know why Report Builder has this behaviour?

PS: All properties Page Protect, Page Break Before/After have been set to "No". The property Print Direction of the repeating frames in the Matrix cannot be changed

hello,
if i understand correctly, the matrix overflows in the horizontal direction to another page and you would like this part to show up below the first part on the same page insead ? much like wrapping the matrix ?
unfortunately reports does not support wrapping of layout objects. if a layout object exceeds the page in any direction the overflow part will be pushed to another page.
