Page dialog box in printing

Hi,
I want to get the page margins from the Page setup dialog box which i get from the 'printjob' class. Also, i want to set the paper to A4 as default instead of 'letter'. Is there any method through which i can retrieve the paper size and the margins for the paper size.
Pls help me out.

Hi,
You can use the MediaSizeName class and its attributes to specify the default size of the document. For instance:

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Blank Sheet at beginning and between every printed page; Separator Page dialog box is blank.

I followed directions of another blog and when I got to the Separator Page dialog box, it said to "delete all templates listed in the Separator Page box", but mine was blank. If I click on the browse button, I do find pcl,sep; pscript.sep; sysprint.sep; and sysprtj.sep files. Do I delete these sep files? I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer and am using Windows 7 (had same problem with VISTA).

I had this issue using FF 5.0, I fixed it by doing the following :
# Go to firefox button, select options, options.
# Find all the applications that are listed as Adobe
# Change the action from 'Use Adobe Reader (in FireFox)' to 'Use Adobe Reader'
Fixed :)

Clicking on "Envelopes" only brings up "Envelope Options", and not the dialog box to print envelopes, but only on certain documents.

I'm using Word 2010, and up until a few weeks ago have never had trouble printing envelopes. Then one day I clicked on Envelopes to print one, and it only
brought up Envelope Options instead of the dialog box to print envelopes. Eventually the problem went away and it worked again. Then it happened again last week. I closed down everything Office-related and started back up, and it worked again. Now it's happened
again today, and even after shutting all Office products down, it still won't let me print envelopes. I have two printers and it happens no matter which one I choose. The strange thing is it apparently only happens on certain documents, because I can open
up another letter, hit "Envelopes" and paste in the address from the letter that won't print, and it will work fine. What is wrong with these certain documents that makes Word unable to bring up the print dialog? I can't find anything online relating
to this issue. Any ideas?

1. If you empty the whole document then click the Evelopes buttong, what will happen?
2. Check if there are any special macros in these specific documents
3. Try remove both of these printers, and check this issue again.
4. Will this behavior also happen when open these documents from the other computer?
You can also share a copy of the document in SkyDrive so I can check on it. (Remove any sensitive information)

Math in 'Crop Pages' dialog box fields & Arrow key shortcuts

I believe Acrobat is the only Adobe application i've used where you cannot do math in the dialog box fields. For example: In the crop pages dialog box, if the top value is set to '.25in' and I wanted to add '3p6' to that value, I cannot type '.25in + 3p6' like I could in InDesign or Illustrator. Adobe, you spoil us by letting us take advantage of this math feature in InDesign & Illustrator. My calculator has been getting a lot of attention lately.
Also, what happened to using the arrow keys to increment the values up and down (crop pages dialog)? I used the arrows all the time in acrobat 7. Please bring that back! Prepress departments around the world will thank you.

Not all of the listed email recipients on my contact form are receiving the inquiries.    Muse allows me to add several email addresses separated by a semi-colon (see below from Corey Wrote) but only one of the three addresses are receiving the contact form inquiries.

Shortcut Method for Replace Pages dialog box

What is the keyboard shortcut method for bringing up the Replaces Pages dialog box. I use Replace Pages function a lot in preparing PDF documents and need a faster method than using Mouse on Tools right sidebar. I note that shortcut key for inserting pages is Cntrl-Shift-I -- what is shortcut for Replace Pages. In previous Acrobat 9, I could use alt-DNR, which brought up Replaces Pages dialog box via the menu, but there no longer is a Document item in the menu bar -- it has been removed. Please, this is VERY important to me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

But anyway -- going forward ..... in your opinion, what is the best way to get information to Adobe on ideas for improvement so that future version or maybe even an update for this version could have something like what I need, that is, shortcut key for Replace Pages -- or ability to access customized quick tools via keyboard, etc. Is there someone keeping a list of these things that I can write to? PS CC, Yosemite, Epson 3880 (called espson to make sure it wasn't something with that), saved as a tiff/psdjpg- all files behave the same way. When I open the raw file- and only crop the image- it behaves this way now- with grain and blur when printing. No other files do this in the same shoot. I worked on this image- could something have gotten corrupted along the way such that now even opening the raw file creates this problem. SInce upgrading my computer - a window pops up when I open PS that says I need to update my graphics card?? for 3D- I'm not using 3D- so I don't know if that means anything. I have to leave for about an hour- but greatly appreciate any feedback. I will be in touch. Thank you.

Show print dialog box and print content of page

I'm building a java webdynpro for the sap portal.
When the user clicks on a button, I want to print out the content of the application.
Is there any option to do this in java?
I already found a possible solution like PrinterJob.getPrinterJob(), but this gives me an exception: java.awt.HeadlessException

Can you tell us if you are using Windows of Mac OS? The Mac OS version of Reader has a Printer button on the bottom of the Print dialog box that brings up the standard printer dialog box.

Enable "scrolling preview" behind the Crop Pages dialog box in Acrobat 9 ?

Hi everyone,
I want to be able to preview the crop marks (when you click on "Document" and choose "Crop Pages" or Shift+Ctrl+T) before actually cropping all the pages of my documents. When the crop tool dialog box is showing, you can see behind it the crop marks that look like guides. In Acrobat 5, you could scroll the pages even with the crop tool box showing in front of your pages. This way, you could see the crop marks or "guides" on all the pages. But, in version 9, when the crop box is showing, you can only see the crop marks on the page(s) you're working on. You can't scroll behind the box to see what the others pages look like with the crop marks. I've uploaded print screens to make myself a bit more clear (Acrobat 5 vs Acrobat 9) :

     - Right clicking

     - Changing to different PDF type (scanned, instead of text-to-pdf) and trying again
     - Yelling
     - Punching
     - Crying
None of the afforementioned seems to work.

Incomplete print dIalog box when printing PDFs

During the past several weeks, whenever I try to print a PDF, the print dialog box (when Copies & Pages is selected in the pull-down menu) is blank ... I can't select how many copies or which pages to print. This only started happening recently, before that everything was fine. It doesn't matter how the PDF was created ... by OS X, by InDesign, by Photoshop, or arriving in email, the result is the same ... incomplete dialog box. My workaround so far when I want more copies or only certain pages, is to "place" the desired pages in InDesign and do the printing from there ... big pain and not an acceptable long-term alternative.
Anyone know of anything that might have happened with recent software updates?

Karen....I found this thread while looking for some help with the same problem. Did you ever find a solution? I have Acrobat 7 and 8 running on a Mini with 10.4.11 and am having the same problem in Acrobat 7 only, Acrobat 8 behaves fine. When going to the Print dialog, the area below the "Copies & Pages" button is blank. I can change the "Copies & Pages" button to other settings but the dialog box does not hold the change, it reverts back to "Copies & Pages". I have replaced Acrobat 7 without any luck.

AJAX Call make SP to show the "Are you sure you want to leave this page" dialog box

I have a problem while editing properties of a Page. We have a custom Content Types which includes a field with a custom type (and custom control). The Custom control includes an UpdatePanel. The control is a tree view, so each time we expand a node, there
is an AJAX call.
The control is displayed on the page on Edit Mode. When we use the control from Edit Mode, expanding each node result in displaying the dialog box to ask the user if he wants to leave or stay on the page.
When using the same control from the "Edit Properties" form, expending the nods works perfectly.
Also I couldn't reproduce the problem on FireFox, it only happens on IE.
Using fiddler I could see a difference between the Post requests depending on the above scenarios.
When using the custom Tree View from the Edit Page mode which result into the error, the POST request does not include the
x-microsoftajax: Delta=true
in the request header.
When using FF or the Tree View from the Edit Properties window, the above header is present and the dialog box is not shown.
Does anyone have an idea why I'm not having the the correct header with IE when using the control from Edit Mode?

According to your post, an error occurred when you used Ajax in SharePoint.
Please do as follows:
1. Try to uncheck the Enable native XMLHTTP support option in IE's advanced options.
Go to Tool->Internet Options->Advanced and disable “Enable native XMLHTTP support”.
2. Use jQuery Ajax to call.

Cannot print to canon MP160, dialog box says printer off line, but it is on line, OK printing with IE

I just installed the Canon MP160 printer. I downloaded the driver software from Canon version 12.1.4.0.(2/8/2008). I can print documents fine from Internet Explorer. When I go to print from Firefox the printer dialog box says the printer is "off line" and I get printer queue error messages. I can also print OK from windows. I have a PC 32 bit with Windows Vista.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did that this morning (see Step 1) and deleted the existing printer before re-adding a new printer and using the newly updated driver and printer description. Here's what I get:
You can see my model number is listed in there as is the the proprietary Canon UFRII language.
Once added, here's what happens next:
So it would appear, at this point, that the printer is installed and communicating and that I should be good to print.
Alas, I get the same error message I've been getting. back to square one.

No Print dialog box apear in printing a report

i am using developer6i report builder for last two years but now i am facing a problem of printing report dialog box for printing page one by one, this problem i did not face ever.any body tell me what is the problem,it is installation problem or any other printer driver. i am using epson lx-300 printer and laser HP12000.

I have faced this problem as well. And it was diagnosed to be the parameter problem. As I was using the same report for mail purposes, so I have had set the parameters like print destination, destination type, printjob etc. in report triggers like "After Paramaeter Form".
I suggest, if you are using the report triggers, then check the parameters being set, specially "PrintJob" must be set to "YES" to stand up the print dialog box.
