Page frame

Hi Friends,
I am new to indesign scripting (vb.net). I want to add a page with frame content "hello world" from page 2 to 5.
This is the code i have used
For i = 2 To 5
mydoc.Pages.Add()
mypage = mydoc.Pages.Item(i)
myframe = mypage.TextFrames.Add
myframe.GeometricBounds = arr
myframe.Contents = "Hello world"
Next
The above code adds 2 frames in 2nd and 4th page instead of adding it to the 3rd and 5th page.

You have facing pages in your document. Objects on the left have
different coordinates than the ones on the right.
If you run this script on a document without facing pages, it will work as you expected. If you need it to run on a facing document, you will need to determine what should be placed in the "left" position and what in the "right" position. The difference between the left and right position is exactly the current page width.

Can anybody tell me...
Once you've created a page frame how do you position the slideshow or item within that frame? which file affects it, and what setting?

You'll basically have to figure out what the minimum dimensions are for the slideshow you want and then make your textbox/iframe dimensions at least as big. Think of the textbox/iframe as a mask or a cutout through which your slideshow is being displayed. If the slideshow is bigger than the cutout, then parts of it will be cutoff.
The original AutoViewer files should be completely scalable to whatever dimensions you choose. But if you use iPhoto Export, it may disable this feature. What you can do is to use something else to produce your AutoViewer slideshow, like WebExport ( http://mountainmandan.net/webexport/ ) which purportedly leaves the scaling capability intact. Or you can go to http://www.airtightinteractive.com and download the original AutoViewer files and then replace the following files with the ones iPhotoExport gives you...

Try dragging the browser window smaller and larger on the slideshow page to see the automatic scaling capabilities of AutoViewer (and most Flash content).

Explain please differences of report, dynamic page, frame, portlet

Hi to all -
I am a beginner with using WebDB/Portal development so forgive me for such simple questions.
Can someone explain or point me to a site that explains the differences between report, dynamic pages, frame drivers and portlets? I am trying to understand when I might use say a dynamic page rather than a report, etc. Also, does the PDK functionality complement Portal or is it it's own web development tool entirely?

The PDK is a set of APIs which expose the services provided by Oracle9iAS Portal. This enables you to build your own custom portlets (the building blocks of a portal and it's pages) using your preferred development language and environment. Note that you can also expose a lot of the inbuilt functionality of portal as portlets to enable the easy reuse of people's work.

Title of Page Frame in Browser - How to Change?

Hello,
New to this. One quick question....
When you create a site in iWeb, the page title (or top frame in the browser) reflects the name of the page, and I can't find a way to edit that portion of the page.
For example, the homepage of my site is called "Home", however, I would rather it say (in the browser frame at the top) the name of the company (for search engine purposes).
How can this be done? Thanks in advance...

You would need to use iWebSEO to do this. It allows you to add page browser titles, tags and Google analytics to your site to be search engine friendly.
Note, you need to publish your site to a local folder on your desktop first and then upload.

CS4 auto page insert: master page frame or not

In CS4 the preferences for auto page insert allow to turn off 'limit to master pages'.
However, don't see much difference wether it is on or off. The Help file states that if you do NOT use master text frames, a new textframe should be inserted, one column between the margins.
Can not get this to work when limit to master pages is off. What am I misreading...?
(It is funny sometimes: I have 'delete empty pages' checked (it is on). Now make a document 3 pages long. OK, now draw a empty text frame on page one. Do the same on page 2.
Now connect both text frames: page 2 disappears. This is to be expected but be aware of this.
Now insert text in the textframe on page one that does not fit totally in this textframe: overset symbol appears.
Now where is page 2 that was 'auto deleted' and had the threaded text frame?

Yes, I know. But maybe my point came over the wrong way. If you have auto page delete on, you have three pages and a textframe that spans page 1 and 2, but not yet text in it, and you connect the empty text frames, page 2 will disappear. Now fill page one with overset, page 2 won't do anything because it needs two pages.
Disable auto page delete and it will work.
Just wondering why it was designed this way, that's all ;-)

What is Home page frame work services?

In SPRO-PM-ESS-general settings-home page for self services-resources-Define server for resources.
In this node we will give Directory path (Field name). Which value we can give in this?
Under HOME PAGE FOR SERVICES we give many technical names and PDC path in portals.
where we can find what value we should give in the fields?

Two movies on page & frames per second?

I have two flash movies. One has an embedded video. I sped up that movie to 36 fps to make it run quicker. It plays fine.
I downloaded a FLA that is a flame effect. It has a 30 fps rate.
When I incorporated the flame effect into the movie with the embedded video, it made that movie play at 12 fps. Must be something in the AS?
So I decided to make two separate movies and include both on the page.
But when I do that, the same thing happens. The 36 fps movie plays at 12 fps.
What am I missing?

May i resize table, which right edge standing out of page/frame border

After pasting big table, its right edge is commonly outside of story frame. To resize the table we use cursor+shift key and slide right border to adjust a frame edge. Can we do it by script?

Place the cursor somewhere in the table to be resized and run the following script. It checks only if the cursor is in a table, nothing else -- it's very basic.

Error in ESS Home Page Frame work (Area doesn't exist on portal)

Hi All,
Recently one of my company 's non production system(R/3) has been refreshed from other client. After that the application Travel Expense Management is giving error.
When I click on " My Expenses " under ESS ,it is giving me the error
Fatal error: Area EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL does not exist
I have checked in SPRO that this Area is existing . What else I can check?
Is there any activation in SPRO?Is there any way to test SPRO configuration on R/3 itself. I have compared it with the SPRO of other non production system where Travel Expense Management is running fine,both the settings are same. Please help me .

(1) Does that AREA exist in the config (IMG) of the client you are testing from? (not just where you do config....it is client dependent)
Area exist in both the clients.
(2) Did you refresh the portal cache? (ie. System Admin->Support->Portal Content Directory-> PCD Administration)
I haven't clear the cache as the portal schedule restarts everyday . I think the cache will be cleared automatically after restart.

Frame line not display in next page of main window

I am creating layout in SAP SCRIpt,it working fine only the main window of next page frame line is not display.
i m define next page as a FIRST page and writing main window of first page following coding

when i run the program first page are coming properly and only when i go in second page of output then main window lines not displaying.

Hi Praveen,
In that case why you have to make the main window in the first page and secondry window.
You can use it as manin window itself. Print the total amount in the main window itself in the first page. and copy that main window to the second page.
In the first page under the main window create a text. and there u print the total value and text.
Now copy the main window to the second page..only COPY DONT CREATE NEW.
In the second page now under the main window create the table to print the line items. What every u add in the second page main window it will come in the first age also in the smartforms. But it will nto get printed in the first page.After the text to print the totals call the COMMAND option and call next page in that.

JSPX page inside (i)frame is blank in IE

I have a simple login.jspx that does not load correctly when it is placed in a frame or an iframe. Chrome and Firefox show no problems, but with Internet Explorer, the frame is blank. When loading the JSPX outside a frame, the application works as usual in all browsers. The parent page is a regular website and the URL of the (i )frame is http://{ip}:{port}/{appname}/faces/login.jspx. So both pages are on different domains.
I have configured framebusting in web.xml to get it to work in Chrome and Firefox:

When I use F12 in Internet Explorer, I noticed it only loads the ADF loopback-script, which ends with these lines:

It looks like IE did not succesfully execute the script, since there is no noticable reloading of the page / frame. In debugging mode, I can't step through the script or find any errors.
Searching the web for line 2 gives me one case where document.location.reload(true) does not work on IE:

However, when I test this function in IE10, it seems to reload the page.
I've searched the forums for a good way to disable this loopback-script. I have found that this is not possible for my ADF version and it is not recommended either.
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3, WebLogic 10.3.6 and Internet Explorer 10.0.9.

I noticed a difference between pages with a <frame> and pages with a <iframe> in IE10. The framed pages are blank, whereas the iframed pages keep loading forever (and at the same time, are blank).
I also tested IE 8.0.6 on another machine. This browser keeps loading forever, both with the frame and the iframe.
Does anyone experience the same problems when your ADF Faces application is (i )framed, even in a simple local HTML file?

Opens new tab instead of changing page within a frame.

V 22: When I open site with frame header & left navigation home page is fine. When I click to navigate to different page, frame header & navigation buttons are gone. Only content of new page is displayed. Site is control page for access point on network. IE and Chrome work just fine.

I have the same problem. After checking settings and add-ons, I discovered that the add-on for Dragon Naturally Speaking seemed to be causing the problem. Probably a feature of DNS. When I disabled the DNS add-on, Firefox behaved correctly.

How to seperate (unlock) frames/pages?

Hello. I have a dokument of 80 pages of text. Now my problem is that when i edit in one page/frame the other pages/frames relativise to the changes (for eksample move up or down). Now i want them to stop adjusting to eachother synchronically so that I can edit one page/frame with the next changing aswell.
To kind of unlock the pages from eachother, non-synkronize them. How do I do that?

It sounds to me like your text is a single "story" running through a series of "threaded" frames. This is normal when working with long passages of text since normally you want text following an edit to either flow back to fill a deletion or push down to make room for additions. In susch cases empty space or "overset" text ends up at the end of the thread in the last frame of the story.
There is a sample script included with InDesign called SplitStory that will break the links between the threaded frames, making each one a separate story. If a paragraph happens to cross the boundary betwen two frames it will be split into two parts, and the second half will be treated as a new paragraph. If the style calls for a first line indent, that will be applied to the first line in the unlinked frame.

How create page with two frame (google geocoding BSP)

can someone suggest me how create an BSP application with the main page composed by two frae?
I've create a page with tags <htmlb> gridLayout for ape the frame structure and the result is fine.

But now i've to call the right page frame ( obviously in his frame) from the left page controller after pressing the 'search button'
and passing to it a table.

CS5: Watch out for a master page bug

I found a pretty serious bug in CS5. I opened a catalog I created with CS4, which has master pages for page frames. I also have occasional left or right title pages which have no frames, and [none] selected as master.
Elements aligned to spread center on right or left page will sometimes appear on the spread even if the page has [none] as master, but the facing page has a master applied.
This is difficult to explain, but it seems that the new page system has messed up something and CS5 thinks the element is overlapping both master pages, even tho it's only aligned to center. If I nudge the element by 0,01 mm away from center, it will disappear from the facing page.
Check your layouts before sending to print.

How exactly would that work?
I export from CS4 and open the exported to CS5?
or
I open the CS4 document in CS5, export and re-load exported to again CS5?
