Page templates with predefined regions

Is it possible to create a page template with two predefined regions ? Much as createing a "page with components". This to be able to edit the regions after creating the page
peråge

it sounds as if you'd want to create a page zero (:app_page_id = 0) in your app and throw your regions there...
user interface components that are to be common to multiple pages within an htmldb application should be placed on page zero. if you define your HTML and List regions there, they'll display on all the pages of your app. if you need them to not display on specific pages in your app, just set your region conditions accordingly.
hope this helps,
raj

    "a user error"
    Well I followed your book! Chapter 6 of the "Oracle Fusion Developer Guide - Working with Bounded Task Flows in ADF Regions". I think this comes back to book writer error. I found almost no mention of BackingBeanScope in this chapter. Don't you think this would be an important note?
    "did you know that there is a Java API (on the RichPopup instance) to launch a popup ?"
    Yes I posted in my code! If you read the above code you would see it there.
    I don't really understand why the scope of the bean has anything to do with af:showPopupBehavior or AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent.

  • How to share pages template with word users?

    I made a pages template with placeholder text and need word users to fill in the placeholders, how do I save this template to share it with word users?

    Thank you for your quick response!
    The template has colored shapes, therefore upon export it changes the formatting and nothing lines up-of course!
    When I export it and open it in on my old macbook(OSX10.6.8) in word for mac 2004 it opens as a document not a template.  The export is as a document, not a template, maybe it is not possible-ugh!

  • Calling a taskflow with input parameters in a page template

    Hi,
    I have a taskFlow with an inputParameter, a page template with an attribute and a fragment using this template.
    My fragment is passing #{bindings.MyColumn.inputValue} to the template attribute, where bindings.MyColumn is an attributeValues pointing to an iterator.
    My template is calling the taskFlow and pass #{attrs.myColumn} to the input parameter. There is an outputText too, displaying #{attrs.myColumn}.
    +fragment -- #{bindings.MyColumn.inputValue} --> template -- #{attrs.myColumn} --> taskFlow+
    The problem is that #{attrs.myColumn} is resolved to null when is passed to the taskFlow inputParameter. But in the outputText value, #{attrs.myColumn} is resolved to the good value.
    I don't understand what is happening.
    If I pass #{data.fragmentPageDef.MyColumn.inputValue} directly from my template to the taskFlow input parameter it works, but no with #{attrs.myColumn}.
    How can I do to pass a template attribute to a taskFlow inputParameter?

    I think it is more something with ADF lifecycle.
    Something like : #{attrs.myColumn} is resolved in a phase and the taskFlow in another. I don't know.
    I am trying to understand what is done when. I think the answer is in "Prepare Model" and "Prepare Render" phases, but I am far to understand all this...
    Any help is welcomed.

  • Create Item with no Page Regions, but with P0 Region Issue

    Hi,
    Suppose you have a region on Page 0 called: P0_REGION. You then create a page, P100, with no region. If you try to create a Page Item you get the following message:
    Unable to Create Page Item
    You must create at least one region before you can create a page item.
    Shouldn't we be allowed to create a page item and apply it to the P0 region? I didn't file this as a bug since I didn't know if this is what should happen.
    Thank you,

    Hi Roel,
    Not exactly. I have a common region on Page 0 which contains buttons, jQuery Tabs etc. On each Page, P100 for example, I put items into that region for display purposes. I don't want to create these at P0 Items since they will be run for each page (or I'll have to put a lot of conditions on them).

  • Pages 5.5 different first page template

    Hello,
    In Pages 4.3 I was able to create a template with different first page header and footer (just create 2 page document, manage headers and footers, then delete body text and save as template).
    Well, in Pages 5.5 I have problem with that. OK, it is possible to create different first page with different header and footer, BUT how to save blank, one page document with predefined headers and footers, and to save as template, just like in ver. 4.3?
    Thank you

    I don't know if you can achieve what you want in Pages v5, and if you could, what would the time to solution cost? As Pages ’09 v4.3 works nicely on Yosemite, I would use that version, and dually future-proof with exports to MS Word format. Have a good backup strategy.
    Countless people, either new to Pages, expecting MS Word, or Pages ’09 functionality, have lost years of productivity trying to make Pages v5 into a majestic bird, when it was designed as pork.
    Pages v5 and later (5.5) is a simple subtraction problem.  As a brand new application in Oct 2013, Apple added everything, but Pages ’09 functionality. They have consistently kept it that way, including the 5.5 update for Yosemite, whose document architecture is not backwards compatible with Pages v5.2.2 on Mavericks.
    If you accidentally/deliberately opened a Pages ’09 document in Pages v5, it will silently remove what it does not support, and then autosave the translated document, making it incompatible with Pages ’09. Some Pages ’09 templates, and the ability to sustain their layout, are gone in Pages 5.

  • How to create a blank page template?

    Hi,
    I'm using HTMLDB 2.0 and want to create a completely blank page - when I choose "View Source" on browse it must have no code.
    I've created a template with all regions (header, body, footer, etc...) empty, and applied it to a empty page (no regions, items or anything) but when I view it's source on the web browser I always get this empty javascript block:
    <script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">
    </script>
    I need a really empty page. What must I do for this Javascript block disappears from my empty template?
    Thank you,
    Nuno Vidal

    I have the same problem when I try to create an XML template: an unwanted script tag. In addition the footer definition is repeated for some reason.
    Any ideas how to get rid of the script tag and repeated footer?
    My template is blank except for the following header:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xfdf xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/xfdf/" xml:space="preserve"><fields>
    body:
    #BOX_BODY#
    footer:
    </fields><f href="http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf"/></xfdf>
    What I'm trying to accomplish is creating an xfdf that opens a fillable PDF form. I'm a long ways from getting there but this is my first step.

  • Default Profiles & Page Templates

    I am not sure is the right discussion for this question but I am hoping somebody might be able to help. I want to be able to associate a Page Template with a Default Profile but can't seem to find out how to do this or even if it is possible. For example you are not offered the option to choose a page template whislt within the default profile editor.
    What I am trying to achieve it to make every user's home page be based on a template so that at a later date we can update everybody's home pages centrally, whether it be adding new protlets or changing the layout.
    Can anybody help?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    The trick to getting elements like your colored bars & logo to carry over from one page to the next is to place them on the section master. Make sure they are floating objects & then select them, go to Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master. However, text will no longer wrap around these objects, so you will have to make adjustments to your margins if you don't want text to be on top of them.

  • JSF Page Template error in Visual Editor

    Hi!
    I've developed a jsp page template with an attribute called BackingBean. This attribute is a mypackage.view.BackingBeanTemplate class and it works perfectly when I open the template in visual editor.
    When I create a new JSF page using my jsf page template and fill attribute BackingBean with a class that extends mypackage.view.BackingBeanTemplate, the visual editor send me the following error in Messages - Log:
    WARNING: A problem was encountered executing the page. Using fallback rendering.
    javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: The class 'oracle.adf.view.rich.component.fragment.UIXPageTemplate$AttrMap' does not have the property 'BackingBean'.
    When I run my jsf it works perfectly. Just in visual editor it doesn't render my page.
    Can I use only primitive types and wrappers (String, Boolean, Integer, etc) in jsf template pages?
    Anybody could help me?
    Thanks
    Gleber

    Hi,
    actually i used a template that references a type DCIteratorBinding using EL and this works fine. So there is no limitation in the type you pass as an argument. My assumption is that the IDE doesn't instantiate super classes, which is why the property is not found. Does the subclass call super() in its constructor? Anyway, feel free to file a bug

  • Pages Templates still reset currency...

    Is there anybody who is struggling with this as well?
    I thought this would be a really obvious bug and they's fix it in 09, but nothing.
    Whenever I create a Pages Template with a currency other than British Pounds and save it, after opening it is reset to Pounds - it's a simple and obvious bug and I wrot eto Apple as well, so they should be aware of it, but nothing happens - am I the only one here?
    Cheers - Christoph

    Hi Fruhulda
    If you insert a table in a Pages document (same behavior with Numbers) and set a cell as currency one using $ if your system's setting is €,
    if you save the document as a template, the documents created from this custom template will contain a currency matching your system's setting.
    It's really odd.
    I wish to know if the OP used the Feedback link or if he reported to the BugReporter area.
    There is a quick and dirty workaround.
    Don't save as a template but as a standard document and create new documents with this script.
    --[SCRIPT openFakeTemplate]
    Il vous faudra peut-être créer le dossier Applications.
    menu Scripts > openFakeTemplate
    Si c'est un Progiciel, laissez le sur le bureau pour y glisser l'icône d'un pseudo_modèle Numbers ou Pages.
    Dans les deux cas, un clône du pseudo_modèle sera ouvert avec un nom horodaté.
    --=====
    L'aide du Finder explique:
    L'Utilitaire AppleScript permet d'activer le Menu des scripts :
    Ouvrez l'Utilitaire AppleScript situé dans le dossier Applications/AppleScript.
    Cochez la case "Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus".
    +++++++
    Save the script as Script or Application Bundle: openFakeTemplate.xxx
    Under 10.6, Application Bundle is named Application.
    If you saved as Script, movethe newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:
    Maybe you would have to create the folder Applications by yourself.
    Go to menu Scripts > openFakeTemplate
    If you saved as Application (bundle), leave it on the Desktop so you will be able to drag & drop on its icon a fakeTemplate's one.
    In both cases, a dateTime stamped clone of the fakeTemplate will be open.
    --=====
    The Finder's Help explains:
    To make the Script menu appear:
    Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
    Select the "Show Script Menu in menu bar" checkbox

  • Page Template Popup with Dynamic Region TaskFlow

    Hi.
    I have a Page Template that is used extensively in my application to provide a consistent explorer panel containing tree links to various pages in the application. I'm trying now to enable users to edit configuration via a tree link. I would like to implement this as a Popup in the page template which contains a dynamic region that contains a bounded Task FLow (so I can control the transaction for the edit activity). I'm running into all manner of issues...
    The Tree node is defined as follows:
    <f:facet name="cognition_model_view.viewRepListVO">
           <af:group id="pt_g4">
              <af:commandImageLink id="pt_ot15" text="#{node.Viewname}"
                                                action="callRouter"
                                                actionListener="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.viewsGoActionListener}"
                                                icon="/pics/folder-icon.png"
                                                shortDesc="View: #{node.Viewdesc} | Filter: #{node.Filtername}"
                                                partialSubmit="true"/>
              <af:commandImageLink id="pt_ot16"
                                                icon="/pics/edit1.png"
                                                shortDesc="Edit View Config"
                                                partialSubmit="true">
                     <af:setPropertyListener from="#{node.Appname}"
                                                       to="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewAppName}"
                                                       type="action"/>
                     <af:setPropertyListener from="#{node.Viewname}"
                                                       to="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewName}"
                                                       type="action"/>
                     <af:setPropertyListener to="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewType}"
                                                       from="#{node.Sourceview}"
                                                       type="action"/>
                     <af:showPopupBehavior popupId="::pt_p_edView"
                                                       triggerType="click"/>
              </af:commandImageLink>
            </af:group>
    </f:facet>The property listeners are to hold values that will be passed as parameters to the region's task flow.
    The Popup is defined here:
    <af:popup id="pt_p_edView" contentDelivery="lazyUncached"
                  popupCanceledListener="#{backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.cancelPopup}"
                  popupFetchListener="#{backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.showPopup}"
                  binding="#{backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.editPopup}">
            <af:panelWindow id="pt_pw1"
                            title="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewName} - Edit View Configuration"
                            contentHeight="250" contentWidth="500" stretchChildren="first" modal="true">
                <af:region value="#{bindings.dynamicRegion1.regionModel}" id="pt_r1"/>
            </af:panelWindow>
        </af:popup>The taskflow binding for the template is as follows:
        <taskFlow id="dynamicRegion1" taskFlowId="${backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.dynamicTaskFlowId}" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding">
          <parameters>
            <parameter id="inputApplicationName" value="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewAppName}"/>

            <parameter id="inputViewName" value="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewName}"/>
          </parameters>
        </taskFlow>The managed bean to hold the dynamic taskflowId (editPopupTFHandler) is referenced in the adfc-config.xml file at "backingBean" scope, and looks like this:
    public class editPopupTFHandler {
        private String taskFlowId = "/WEB-INF/editViews/editViewsTF.xml#editViewsTF";
        private String emptyTaskFlowId = "";
        private String currentTaskFlowId = taskFlowId;

        public String getDynamicTaskFlowId() {
            return currentTaskFlowId;

        public RichPopup getEditPopup() {
            return editPopup;
    }If I don't define the bean at backingBean scope, I get a Target Unreachable error from any page using the template.
    When I attempt to use the link to the popup, the popup displays but the region content does not. Is this a scoping issue?
    Additionally, after pressing combinations of the 2 commandimagelink components, the first link stops submitting... this may be a side-effect of the region display though?
    Again, as I'm quite new to ADF I don't know how to overcome or avoid these issues, or whether there is a better method to achieve an edit capability in a popup window from a page template.
    Thanks for your help. I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 by the way.

    Hello again. I've managed to get the dynamic region displaying once I restarted JDeveloper and re-created the Region and backingBean. This has happened before - is JDeveloper known to get "confused" (like me!) in this way?
    There are still issues though. The backingBean contains a PopupCanceledListener as follows:
        public void cancelPopup(PopupCanceledEvent pce) {
            System.out.println("CANCEL POPUP - Current Task FLow now empty");
            currentTaskFlowId = emptyTaskFlowId;  // where emptyTaskFlowId = ""
            System.out.println("CANCEL currentTaskFlowId = " + currentTaskFlowId);
        }Simple enough, but the dynamicTaskFlowId is not holding its cleared value. Subsequent call to the getter shows a non-null value...?
    The Popup has the ContentDelivery="lazyUncached" and ChildCreation="deferred". The TaskFlow Binding has Refresh="default" and activation="deferred". With these property values the Popup is displays the correct value on its first use but then keeps that same value on any subsequent selection. I don't know whether this is because of the TaskFlow not correctly resetting or something else...
    Can anyone help me please. This is beyond frustrating. The behaviour of these various property settings is not at all predictable for me... Thanks.

  • Spry tool tip does not work in template or child pages within an editable region. Why not?

    Ok. so I am getting pretty frustrated. I take the time to learn how to use CSS and to create a template page for a Contractor Site (www.ContractorInsurance.net). The idea is to create a page that I can use for different classes of Contractors...right?
    Then I get all happy about being able to insert ToolTip onto pages to help the user. Great!
    LIfe to turn to Sorrow after nearly five hours of searching for a "eeking" answer.
    So what good does it do to have an Editable region to update if we cannot have the flexibility to insert a tool tip on child pages?  Ok so the fast solution is to what... Have a question mark image, insert another apDiv, name it toolTip_Not and provide it with a show=hide behavior?
    RRRRRrrr...
    This really sucks not being able to find a solution within a reasonable amount of time.

    I have tried thank you. However...it is still not working.

    If you have a look at the following simple document with a tooltipTooltip trigger goes here.
    Tooltip content goes here.
    you will notice that a couple of lines have been placed in the HEAD section of the document. When using DW templates, the HEAD section is usually not editable, hence the error mesaage. By default, your template should have an editable region in it just before the closing tag. It looks like this: <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" > <! TemplateEndEditable --> Dreamweaver should be able to find that editable region and insert the
    <script> tag there automatically. Because you don't have an editable region like that in the <head>, open the master template, and paste the code above just before the closing </head>
    tag. Gramps

  • Contribute Acting strange - template parameters with repeating regions

    Basically what I'm trying to achieve is that there is a
    repeating region on a page, and each region is supposed to
    alternate colors. To achieve this, the regions with the colors are
    put into a div which has a background color applied to it. To do
    this, I have created two expressions, one to check to see if it's
    an even numbered region, and if so, to open the div, and another to
    close the div. That looks like this:
    quote:
    <!-- TemplateBeginRepeat name="Article" -->
    @@((_index & 1) ? shade : noshade )@@
    stuff
    @@((_index & 1) ? shadeend : noshade )@@
    <!-- TemplateEndRepeat -->
    At the top, I have three template parameters to go along with
    these:
    quote:
    <!-- TemplateParam name="shade" type="text"
    value="<div>" -->
    <!-- TemplateParam name="shadeend" type="text"
    value="</div>" -->
    <!-- TemplateParam name="noshade" type="text" value=""
    -->
    Which look like this on the actual pages:
    quote:
    <!-- InstanceParam name="shade" type="text"
    value="&lt;div&gt;" -->
    <!-- InstanceParam name="shadeend" type="text"
    value="&lt;/div&gt;" -->
    <!-- InstanceParam name="noshade" type="text" value=""
    -->
    The odd thing is that, when I add an editable region,
    something weird occurs with the template parameters and they end up
    looking like this:
    quote:
    <!-- InstanceParam name="shade" type="text"
    value="&lt;div&gt;" --><!-- InstanceParam
    name="shadeend" type="text" value="&lt;/div&gt;"
    -->->
    <!-- InstanceParam name="noshade" type="text" value=""
    -->
    And that, of course, results in having a nice "->" showing
    up at the top of my page. The repeating region appears to work. It
    changes background colors just like it should, but I have no idea
    why it's throwing in the "->" at the end.

    For grins, try changing this -
    <div id="content1" style="display:none">
    to this (IN THE TEMPLATE FILE) -
    <div id="content@@(_repeat._index)@@''
    style="display:none">
    (that should be a " character after the last @ sign - I had
    to use two '
    characters to keep the code from getting munged in my
    newsreader)
