Palm Desktop or MissingSync or PockeMAC - does anyone have a preference?

Hi there. Well I finally figured out ISync isn't going to work with syncing my Centro with my Macbook so now I have to decide whether to use either palm desk top or a 3rd party like missingsync or pocketmac. I have no experience with any of them so feedback would be most appreciated! Thanks! Christine

Hello Christine and welcome to the Palm forums.
I've used Palm Desktop and Mark/Space the Missing Sync for Palm OS on the Mac. Of the two, I would pay the money for the Missing Sync. It is a much better application than Palm Desktop when you use the Mac. I haven't used PocketMac before. I checked their website and they don't seem to have a client for Palm OS 5, which is the operating system on your Centro. So it looks lile for now, the Missing Sync is the only real alternative.
I have two main gripes with Palm Desktop for the Mac. The first is all the trouble I've seen on this board and Brighthand.com about trying to get the software installed. It should be super easy, but for some people it is a nightmare. The other big issue is the inexplicable breakdown in the ability to HotSync, which, usually requires that you try and reinstall the Palm Desktop software which sends you back to my first gripe. I really like Palm. And I've been using Apple's computers since 1984, but Palm Desktop for the Mac is totally the pits.

Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

Hi, cannot drag to trash, get a message saying the item cant be moved to trash because it cant be deleted. I really dont know what theses are. The icon shows as excel but they are certainly not filenames I have used. I cant open them either and they dont show in finder under desktop but they are clearly sitting there!

Hello, I have windows 7, Im getting msvcr80.dll error 7(windows error 126) when I tried to update my itunes. Now it won't open. Does anyone have a remedy? And when I try to uninstall it says that the file cant be found.

Hello< I have windows 7, I tried to install the new itunes version, last night 1/30/14, Im getting msvcr80.dll error 7 (windows error 126). Does anyone have a remedy for this? When I try to uninstall the ituned program it says it can't be found and to make sure I have permission to uninstall.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. I did the following:
1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replaced)
2) Restarted computer and still got error message
3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not recomment in their posted solutions but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
5) Restarted computer.
6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try.

Unless you have the source files that were on the TC or Windows machine you will have to start over with a new library as follows:
Start over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.
Click to view full size
3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects. Your original library will remain intact for further attempts at fixes is so desired.

I was wondering, does anyone have one, or use their docking stations? I just got one. It is brand new, and I like it. I have an A31,R51, and an R52. I love being able to dock them and use them as a "desktop".

I had a dock with my X40 whose screen got broken during an accident, so only then I used it for a good amount of time as a desktop replacement while docked in the station and connected to an external monitor, I quite enjoyed that experience.
I would love to buy one for my T400 as well

I called Apple to complain... fat lot of good that did, but it made me feel better I guess.
It occurs to me that what I really need is an older version of itunes... does anyone know what would be the best one to sync with Pre?
Judging from version tracker on cnet, I'm guessing that I need Version 8.0 but I don't know for sure...

I found the link, and downloaded, but received this message:
The document "The document "iTunesSetup.exe" could not be opened. Airport Admin Utility cannot open files in the "Airport Admin Utility document" format."
I'm afraid I can't find anything online to help my understanding with this... I don't think it'll work for me anyway.
Does anyone know when Palm is going to do something to allow sync with itunes again?

While saving a file, I have converted all my files to Pdf. The only way to restore previous is to delete Adobe. Does anyone have a soution?

Have you ever been able to sync your iPod shuffle to iTunes on your computer, or has something recently occurred? Are you working with a Mac or a PC? Without knowing what has been recommended to you, I'm going to start here with the basics troubleshooting for this issue.
