Paperless billing shafting customers

So, perusing my bill for July, I see that for some reason a min payment didn't take effect. I then went to my account and found out I was charged interest. "How can that be?" I wondered. Seems I bought my $1K+ computer under a 18 month no interest offer (Thank you) and 2 months later with so many issues o it, I bought a cheaper $250 computer as back up.
Seems that my billing didn't show this and so I foind put in June I was charged $28 in interest on the $250 charge (Which was 6 months) So paperless billing has caused me to shell out more....Yes, I do blame Best Buy. The small store may not be able to sway Citibank, but I believe corp can and this customer will be looking for a new computer seller to deal with.
Yes, I have emailed Citibank, they have said "Here's why you are being charged" and I have a response saying 'This did not show on the card statement online" So, I am probably out of luck, but after I pay the account off, so is BB....

Hello Genenco,
For me, any unexpected charge to my credit card account is a scary thought, so I can imagine your shock in finding one on your billing statement. I’m sure this is a frustrating situation, and I’m sorry for the roadblocks you’ve run into while trying to figure this out on your own.
As you’ve learned, promotional financing plans require minimum monthly payments to be made and the full balance to be paid within the agreed timeframe (18 and 6 months respectively from the date of purchase, in your case); interest will be charged to accounts from the purchase date if these terms are not met. Details surrounding these repayment terms can be found in our promotional financing information in-store, on BestBuy.com, in your credit card agreement and on your monthly statements. Please know Best Buy has nothing to gain when customers do not pay off their purchase within the promotional period.
Citibank, N.A. is the issuer of your My Best Buy credit card account. I will be glad to share your inquiry with our Citibank contacts for further review. To do this, I would require additional information from you and have sent you a private message to collect it. You may view this message by ensuring you are logged into the forum and clicking on the envelope in the upper right-hand corner.
Once I receive this information, please know you should receive follow-up contact from Citibank, N.A. within the next 3-5 business days.
Best Wishes,

  • Paperless Billing and Price Increases

We save BT a fortune in terms of both money and time in going paperless. The reward we now get is to have this allowance removed in the latest round of charges!! i.e. effectively a type of underhand increase.
I can of course send BT £120 by way of an upfront payment to influence my line rental rates and if enough customers do this they make a fortune from interest payments.
I could on the other hand, since there will not be any financial benefit, revert back to insisting upon a paper bill send by post. If we all did this I am sure that BT might well wish to reconsider the matter.
It is also interesting to note that whilst BT are happy to e-mail their customers with details of increased charges they have created a facility whereby it is almost impossible to reply by the same medium.
Welcome to supposed customer care in the electronic age!

Ernie valid point however unfortunately im one of the few who upgraded in august with no knowledge of the impending price hikes and removal of the paperless billing "reduction" and not one iota of it was mentioned during the renewals process (given the forums posts the staff knew of the price hikes at the time of sale but neglected to notify) ,
They also tie you in , You see it on the forums
They are hiking most landline prices but if you have just ONE service thats not increasing inprice it brings it all crashing down , esp as They are Hiking phone line rates but anyone closing a bt phoneline with broadband/vision are getting hit with huge cancellation bills because of it. Some service such as unlimited calls etc have also been seen to be causing the same issues.
So the question is , was it honest sales when they sell product at X price but are fully aware that price will only be valid for 3 - 4 months of the contract and don't notify the customer of the hikes? and how many others like myself signed recent renewals and have been caught in the same trap ?

  • Unable to View Paperless Bills in Acrobat X

Since updating to Acrobat X, I have not been able to
view or print paperless bills from Verizon, PSE&G (utility company) or Chase.com--I can get the page
where the links appear, but when I click on the link, 99 times out of a 100 all I get is a solid bar of dark gray. (If I
am willing to try 100 times, sometimes the bill will appear, but I don't have time for that!) I contacted customer service, but
they said I should delete Acrobat X or that it was a computer issue. FWIW I'm using IE 8.

Thank you! But it IS checked, so that can't be the problem.

  • Why can't I enroll in paperless billing

I have logged in and watched the video to enroll, I followed all the steps but I do not have the "ENROLL IN PAPERLESS BILLING" link to click on

    Hello melyndajg,
I'm glad to hear that you are interested in "going green" and enrolling in paperless billing. Paperless billing is one of the best ways that we can contribute to help preserving the environment! Just to make sure that we are in sync as to what steps are being taken to enroll in paperless billing, I have posted the steps below for your review.
My Verizon > View Profile > Billing and Payment Information > Paperless Billing.
May I ask are you logged into My Verizon as the primary owner? This could be one of the reasons as to why you may not have the option online. If you are logged in as the primary owner then what error message are you getting when you try to activate paperless billing? If you are unable to complete this function then feel free to send me a direct message with your full name, mobile number, and a summary of your concern so I can get this done for you.
    Thank you...

  • Paperless billing discounts

Is the quarterly discount of £3.75 for paperless billing being scrapped at the same time as the introduction of the December price increases?
    Anyone know why?

    i8lufc wrote:
Great, getting scr*..d again, not as if they don't make massive profit already
Anyone who was on our paper-free discount could benefit from our Line Rental Saver deal. You can cut your line rental from £14.60 a month to £10 a month by paying upfront for a year. That's over £50 a year off your bill. Sign up here.
(you have to stick to e-billing.)
We're making some changes to the prices of our products and services from 3 December 2011. We're putting up standard monthly line rental by 70p, removing the paper-free discount, and changing some call charges, as well as changing the prices for broadband and some other services. You'll find all the details here.
We know no one likes it when prices go up. That's why we've kept the rises as low as we can and the cost of more than half of our products and services won't change at all.
On top of that, the cost of standard monthly line rental, calls to UK* landlines and our Unlimited Anytime Plan won't rise again until 2013.
Yes that is correct, Line Rental Saver requires you to use paperless billing.

  • Line Saver Rental and Paperless Bill Saving

    Hi
It says on the Line rental saver that if you sign up you lose your saving for your paper free billing discount.  This ultimately reduces any saving/benefit by £15 per year.
Can you tell me once the line rental saver contract period ends is the paper free billing discount reinstated.
    C

Currently i have the unlimited anytime plan, which is NOT subject to an auto renewing contract, i currently pay cash quaterly , what i want to know is: if i decided to get line rental saver from £113  would this change anything with my calling plan such as start a new contract term ? btw i am aware that i would need to sign up for paperless billing and pay for call & calling play by direct debit quarterly or monthly

  • How do I validate my employment if I don't have a work email address and it is a paperless billing system. I don't get a paystub.

I work for Xerox and we don't get paper checks so I have no physical paystub. Everything is on file with the employer, but I also don't have a personal work email. So how do I validate to get the discount?

Can you print out your pay information?  If you have access online to your paycheck info, you should be able to print out  the equivalent of a "pay stub" to verify your employment with a qualified employer.

  • Switched to shared plan-bill on old account sent to collection agency without notice!

On 9/16/12, my husband and I visited a Verizon store to upgrade our phones and enroll in a 2-year renewal contract, as we have done for years.  While speaking with an in-store representative, we were encouraged to combine our plans into a family shared plan. We took the necessary steps to do this and my husband moved his account to combine with mine.  From this point onward, we paid one bill together. We assumed my husband’s account was correctly closed and never heard anything else about it from Verizon.   We were therefore unpleasantly surprised to receive a letter from a collection company demanding that he pay a $135.63 charge from his old account that we previously knew nothing about.
I have been a loyal customer since 2003 and have never missed or even been late on a payment throughout this time.  To find out that there is a delinquent account sent to a collection agency which will affect my family’s credit is very disconcerting.  Further, to read stories from former Verizon customers saying that they too had received letters from collection agencies regarding unpaid bills that Verizon never alerted them about leaves me wondering whether the procedures for closing an account are being properly conducted.   In our case, the situation is even more frustrating since we are not former customers that Verizon had trouble contacting regarding outstanding charges.  We are current customers who would have been happy to make a payment had we been aware of it in writing.  A simple search would have shown that my husband’s phone number is still valid and is now part of my account in our shared plan.  We would have expected to have either received a bill addressed to him regarding a final bill that was owed on his old account (he used auto-pay while that account was active) or to have had the final charge moved to my current account, since I am now the primary account holder with both of our phone numbers under one plan.  It would seem surprising to send a bill to a collection agency when dealing with someone who is a current customer.
There is no issue with making a payment directly to Verizon as long as our credit is not affected.  We have written a letter to Verizon but have not received any response from them in a month and a half. Has anyone else successfully dealt with a similar issue?
    Thank you.

He didn't receive a hard copy because he had paperless billing set up (as well as auto pay).  We checked his email for any billing statements sent and there were none after the account was closed.  As SydneyK mentioned, since he only had paperless billing, after the account was closed there was no way to access it online and see that there was an outstanding balance.  In fact, the Verizon representative stated that his account would be "moved over" to mine, which to me implied that everything, including a balance, would be "moved" to the shared plan. We finally figured out what the outstanding balance was for - for the new phone he upgraded to when we went to the store to upgrade our phones and switch to the family plan.  They had charged his account for the phone, rather than my account/the shared account. Ugh.

    Hey steamer52,
Firstly, welcome to CrowdSupport. Please stick around and offer any expertise you have in the range of topics we have here, in our Community.
steamer52, the Paper Bill and/or Non-Electronic Payment Fee of $2 has been introduced since 29th of March 2011 and applies to all plans below:
This small fee ($2 including GST per bill cycle) are charged to customers on certain plans who don’t choose paperless bills and use electronic payment methods.
Customers on those plans who do choose paperless bills and pay electronically won’t be charged the fee. You mentioned you've taken a new mobile service on May 2012 which means your mobile plan would be in one of the above plans where the fee applies. You would have the My Offer Summary sent out when you received your handset or when you've signed up for the mobile service. You can find copies of these summaries here. Thanks steamer 52.

  • Non receipt of email advice advising latest bill r...

Previously BT advised by email of monthly bill ready for donwnload/viewing...last advice early September.
Late september I upgraded my broadband which was to take effect from 1st October. Does this have any bearing? Could be ...I should have left a system that was working as it was . !!!!!
The usual advice was received on my BT account...."Bill due after 7th October" .....No email advice.
About 10 ten days ago I phoned BT twice, received conflicting info.......nothing happened.
Used the email chat three times, was asked for account number even though this was stated initially. Was then advised that if I had paperless billing I would receive email advices. I said I already have it !!!! and no email advice hence the reason for this conversation !!!
Note passed to Tech Dept and received fault reference  number. Nothing received since...have said that unless it it sorted out quickly I will request paper bills in future. Bill usage can be seen and is increasing as one would expect with usage.
Staff very polite but pass on to "Tech Dept" where it appears to fall into a black hole and disappears.

  • Creating an ISP Bill for Customer Problem, What did i do wrong?

Ok so the point of this program is to create a bill for customers selecting different packages for this ISP. Now i have done all the code, made the methods and what now, but there is a problem, in my main method which tests the methods in my class, the object does not get passed through the method and my toString method does not return the output. i will post the code below, did i do anything wrong?
this is the code for the class:

              Customer customer1= new Customer(packagetype,hoursUsed,name);
              customer1.totalCharges();
              customer1.toString();
        }

in my main method which tests the methods in my class,
the object does not get passed through the method That statement makes no sense. You can pass objects to methods. However, you do not pass objects "through methods". In any case, neither your totalCharges() method nor your toString() method is defined to accept any parameters--much less an object as a parameter.
and my toString method does not return the outputHow do you know that? Your toString() method is defined to return a String. Where in your program do you attempt to display the String that is returned?
did i do anything wrong? If you call a method on an object, and the method returns something, you need to assign the returned value to a variable--otherwise the returned value will disappear into the ether. Subsequently, if you want to display the returned value, you have to take steps to do that as well.
It sounds like you need to revisit a simple "Hello World" program and play around with it a little bit.

It doesn't address what I needed help with
I called 13 22 00 earlier this evening to activate my calling number display (done) and to advise that NO mail should come to my home address - I had received a welcome package for the new bundle I have just signed up to. I advised the operator that my post office box was on my Telstra accounts and that was the address for other communications. However, he misunderstood and cancelled my bills being sent to my email address. I have just logged in and hopefully have fixed this problem and re-instated me email address but I would like further confirmation and would also like to know why the welcome package was sent to my home address in the first place! • Receiving bill via email

I cannot find in the Verizon UI where to set up emailed bills.  I am not receiving these currently nor am I receiving paper bills.
Can anyone tell me where to set this up in the user interface at Verizon?
    TIA

Verizon does not email bills. They will email you a notification when your bill is ready to be viewed online in your MyVerizon acct.
In your MyVerizon acct, under "Manage My Account", select "Manage Paperless Billing". You will be able to change your settings there.

Thank you for your inquiry. Adding to what was stated, it does sound like you selected the paperless billing option on My Verizon. Please log back in and change your preference to start receiving your bill. Please note it can take a bill cycle before you start receiving a paper bill depending on when you process the request. When a bill cycle closes, it takes about 12 days for the billing statement is received via US Mail. You could still access your bill at My Verizon. Here's a link for more details: http://support.vzw.com/clc/faqs/Account%20Management/faq_my_account_online.html?grp=3&faq=2

  • Balance forward billing- Printing separate invoices.

    Hi all,
Ii am working on Balance Forward Billing in R12. Most of us know that BFB is used to consolidate several bills into a single bill for customers. My question is:
When a Balance Forward BIlling is enabled at customer level, is it possible to print the invoices separately before the balance forward bill is generated ??
If its possible to print the invoices separately, is it possible to stop from doing that ??
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers.

    Thanks tarun,
As you said its possible to exclude specific invoices from the BFB. My question is if all the invoices of a customer is balance forward bill enabled, is it also possible to to print the invoices separately still being balance forward bill enabled ??
My requirement is that i shouldn't be able to print them separately when balance forward bill enabled.
