Parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST destination string cannot be translated

Hi,
After change in spfile and restart to mount mode, I got the error. (System is RH EL4.0 Oracle 10g)
SQL> startup mount
ORA-32004: obsolete and/or deprecated parameter(s) specified
ORA-16032: parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST destination string cannot be translated
ORA-07286: sksagdi: cannot obtain device information.
Linux Error: 13: Permission denied
Another try from pfile which was in sync with spfile, I got
SQL> startup pfile=/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/Db_1/dbs/initorcl.ora
ORA-32006: LOG_ARCHIVE_START initialization parameter has been deprecated

In the init.ora file, the parameters looks OK. And I can cd to the location from unix console. What can be wrong?

The 3 commands I've issued before shutdown are:
SQL> alter system set log_archive_format='arch_%t_%s_%r.arc' scope=spfile;
System altered.
SQL> alter system set log_archive_dest='/home/oracle/backup' scope=spfile;
System altered.
SQL> alter system set log_archive_start=true scope=spfile;
System altered.
SQL> create pfile from spfile;
File created.

Linux Error: 13: Permission deniedWhat user is owner of the oracle processes?
If it is oracle:dba then check whether /home/oracle/ and /home/oracle/backup is have appropriate ownership and rights

Since the member function modifies the object instance, the implicit argument "self" must be declared explicitly as "IN OUT" :

I want to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part like mentioned below:

But it always return those items whose "Title" value is "Arup". It is not returned any items whose "Title" is "Ratan".

Hi DH, sorry for not being clear.
It works when I create the connection from that web part that you want to be connected with the Query String Filter Web part. So let's say you created a web part page. Then you could connect a parameterized Excel Workbook to an Excel Web Access Web Part
(or a Performance Point Dashboard etc.) and you insert it into your page and add
a Query String Filter Web Part . Then you can connect them by editing the Query String Filter Web Part but also by editing the Excel Web Access Web Part. And only when I created from the latter it worked
with multiple values for one parameter. If you have any more questions let me know. See you, Ingo

When you add your new field into the parameter mask, please check, if the value is too
long for your parameter mask site. Make a double click on the master attributes of your
report in the object navigator and look at the size of the parameter mask window.
Make it bigger, if you want (vertically und horizontally size).
Check the length of the text of your parameter mask title, too.

Destination system cannot be used for classic qRFC by activating integration models

I am trying to connect ECC Release 702 to SAP TM 8.0 but by activating integration models(CFM2) i got following runtime error:

I am definitely not an expert on SAP Transportation Management. However, maybe your destination system has been set up as bgRFC instead of qRFC?

All files downloaded come up cannot find translation??and need safari 2.0 d

I hope someone will feel sorry for me,, i have a powerbook g3 running mac os 9.1 and most of files on it are not there or cannot find translation? I also am in need of safari 2.0 download, I am pretty new at this and am getting very frustrated. Any help will be so much appreciated1

ERROR: password is router string,cannot start graphical screen painter

I remotely Login SAP at home and I want to edit the screen by screen painter. But the system pop-up a message : password is router string,cannot start graphical screen painter. But at office I can start the screen painter and edit the screen.

The report does contain a blob - I tried deleting it and dragging it from the table - again, but the same error appears before and after. The type of the Field object is IFieldBlob. Oddly enough, other reports that also contain this field, currently seem to be working, although we will have to revisit all of them now.
I am using VS2010 and SQL Server 2005.
Any help would be appreciated.

I use this function in place of the check for Report.Rows.Count,
This allows most of my reports to work correctly, but allows the odd blank report with an image on it to print. Oddly enough, some of the older reports with logo's on them seem to work correctly. The newer ones run into this problem.

Unknown parameter PHY_MEMSIZE a check cannot be performed to APP servers

Hi Gurus,
We have add a parameter PHY_MEMSIZE in RZ10 to App servers, when we added this paratmer in app servrs we got a message like
W:unknown parameter PHY_MEMSIZE, a check cannot be performed.
Aftergetting this message we proceed further. but when we tried to start the System the App servers were not displayed in MMC of CI. these systems are wroking in Cluster env.
These systems are under Windows NT, ECC6 with DB 11.2.
So could any one please give whether it a problem ? because why I asking is the appsers are not started when we started the CI, We have restarted these appserver manually, why this was happend

What your cluster log says? Check the error and correct it.

Parameter with Long String

I am opening a new JSP from current JSP. The new JSP needs a parameter, which happens to be very large > 3800 chars. I am using javascript function window.open(url) where url has everything including above large string. When I print the string I received in new JSP I get only 1880. Example
url=/xyz/x1.jsp?x1_param=001001001001....( 3800 chars )
Is there any size limitation with the parameter passed through JSP?
If yes, then how do I work arround this size limitation problem?

There is a limit to the length of parameters that you can pass in a url. I forget what the exact number is but apparently it is less than 3800.
You could try opening a blank window and then have the JavaScript automatically submit a post on a hidden form where teh response is targetted to the new window.

Externalize Strings not generating translations in CSV file

Hi Gurus,
I need to do presentation layer externalization, hence in the process of doing it, i have activated by clikcing on externalize table on the subject area and after that i go to tools-> utilities -> externalize strings -> execute
the csv file it is generating is only having english values, i am not getting the translations of other languages in the csv. I m struck there.

Hi Sreekanth,
The CSV File generated will be in english only. If you are trying to change everything in OBIEE Presenatation layer to a different language, then you have to do addition steps after exporting the CSV file to your machine.

Parameter for Date string

This is a date field that is a string. How can I create a parameter that will pull a date range for this field?

Here's what you need to do:
1) Create a Date Range Prompt in the report
2) Create a SQL Expression field that converts the String field to Date. Lookup database specific functions on how to do this
3) Create a record selection formula with this code:

Installing 11.5 over CR9 breaks parameter passing? (strings with digits)

This is soo very weird. Our app uses CR9 and there has generally not been a problem with customers running it in parallell with more recent versions of CR, until this. I got a report from a client that certain reports would crash with a general protection. It was absolutely impossible to duplicate, until I installed the same bookkeeping app, an app that apparently installs Enterprise 11.5.
After that, passing a parameter (m_Report->ParameterFields->GetItemByName(itemName)->AddCurrentValue(itemValue);) will crash, but only, and only if the string has a digit somewhere in the beginning, say the first 10 or so positions??
Ie, I can pass: "blablabla blabla blablabla1", but not "1blabla" or even "blabla1blabla"

For initial testing, I only had the actual 3rd party app that updated CR, but I then created a virgin Xp under VMWare, then tried installing both Xi (As we have Xi in house, but when we upgraded our deveoper system bought it with the option to use CR9) and the CR 12 runtime. Then installed our own (CR9) app. I was not able to duplicate the problem with those two setups, so I assume that the problem must lie in some of the DLLs shipped with that "other" app or with the way they install it.
I have emailed the vendor asking for more info and I will also run a snapshot of their install to try to find out what files they replace.
Even if we have stayed with CR9, we have seen very little problems with customers who have other versions of CR and the reason for us staying with CR9 is because another vendor (A banking app) that most of are clients use are also on CR9 and have no plans to upgrade.
I realise that the problem might not be with CR at all, but it was just so weird (ie a numeric within the start of a string) that I posted here in the hope that someone else might have seen it.
